its like i right click and it work then i start moving around then its like i stop hold the mouse button down and i just spind around instead of turning

there is nothing wrong with my mouse its only in this game i got problem with my right mouse button

I am having an issue since the pre-release (not in the BWEs, actually) where my mouse will actually lose focus mid-use when I am using right click mouse look and moving around or using skills. As an engineer with the flamethrower kit, this is extremely frustrating and leads to numerous deaths while I am trying to back up from an enemy, adjust my camera to face the oncoming enemy and while using my skills. What happens is the right click mouse look works, then I start using some keyboard keys, such as S & 1 or 2, and the camera moving stops, I get my mouse cursor back as if I let off the right mouse button. I can still hold the right mouse button and it will sometimes re “catch” the camera but sporadically, if that.

Has anyone hit this before? This is the first time this has ever happened in a game for me, and I don’t have a clue on how to fix it.

Targeting and camera controls in this game are currently pretty terrible.

What’s sad is that a F2P game like Sevencore has better targeting and camera controls.

Got same problem as Kay and I tought that my mouse is breaking but everywhere else its working pretty well. Maybe it has something to do with mouse type and its software ? My mouse model: Cyborg RAT 7

Doubtful. I have a Logitech M570. I first thought it was my dual screen monitor, which is even more frustrating to use. If I have both monitors enabled, when this mouse focus issue happens I actually click on the second monitor and the game minimizes. Really sad that this is happening in a final product, especially when there are achievements for not dying (monthly achievement) and when this happens, 9/10 times I die because I need to realize what happened, bring the game window back up, wait for it to load, then get back into action. I’ve submitted 3 bug reports so far and it’s still not fixed.

Try this:

ESC → Options → General Options → Combat Section

Check “Promote Skill Target”

Had the same option it was intermittent.

For me It would drop out just within 5 seconds holding the mouse down.

Haven’t noticed it in a couple days as I redid my mouse profile and firmware in the razor software.

I found if I closed the razer configuration utility the mouse would work while held down.

Try closing your mouse software in the background and see if it still does it and redoing drivers and mouse firmware.

If the issue it comes back ill be sure to post a update for you guys.

I have exactly the same problem, I thought it was just me.
I’ve submitted a post for this.
I like to use my right button for turning and every other game it works perfect, just GW2 it doesn’t
The worst thing is when fighting enemies and I try to turn to face them, I just stay looking in the same direction but ny arrow pointer goes across the screen.

I have this problem too. It’s specially annoying when you use dual monitor. Sometimes the mouse appears during mid-action on the second monitor, you doesn’t realized it at first and suddenly the GW2 client minimized itself. A deadly situation in WvW.
I play fullscreen. And now with the second monitor disabled.

Same problem here, its very weird and makes it very hard to kite the baddies I want to kill.

From my experience it happens worse the more furious the combat and less when i am running around exploring the nooks and crannies

Yeah its a very odd issue. The mouse responsiveness just dies off at certain times, especially during large group events and in dungeons. I have a Razer Naga and I had just put this behaviour down to Razers terrible build quality, but interesting to see other people having the same issue.

I’m having the same issue. About 1 in 5 times that I attempt to turn my camera using the right mouse button it will fail to do so. It seems to be simply dropping the click completely.

I use a Razer Naga and have gone through and updated every driver I can and tweaked every option I can but nothing seems to help. It only does it with GW2.

This is beginning to make competitive PvP all but impossible.

I’m playing on dual monitors (GW2 on primary, chrome open on secondary) and don’t have this issue.

I have a Logitech Performance MX with the latest version of setpoint installed.

When you say losing focus, have you tried running the game in windowed mode to make sure that a background application isn’t trying to take focus away from the game?

Or is it more like the game just doesn’t register mouse clicks?

Are you, by any chance, right clicking in the are where event notifications are listed? (top right of screen).

I just tried to turn my camera and accidentally clicked near where the heart description is, and it ignored my click.

Just a thought.

Well I have the same problem, very often the game doesnt register my mouse click so the camera wont turn and my character is not going where I want, which is pretty frustrating especially in PvP.

I have had the exact same problem for the past week, but starting yesterday, it happens roughly 90% of the time, making pvp impossible

I have this same issue. Sometimes occurs, but often, but I would say twice a minute in sPvP or more. Very frustrating, trying to locate the cause. I cannot reproduce the issue in other games when intentionally trying to do so.

Sounds like either the mouse button is worn out (happens) or you are playing in windowed mode. Or another app is stealing focus. Or possibly something with the game is acting weird, but I run a dual screen setup (monitor/LCD TV) and have never had mouse focus issues with this game, fortunately.

Are you guys able to try another mouse and repeat the issue? That’s where I’d start.

I’m using a Logitech G700 and my displays are powered by a 7870 (Monitor = DVI, TV = HDMI). Had no issues using my old 4890 either.

edit: If it makes any difference, I do NOT have the Logitech mouse software running on my PC. I installed it on my laptop and saved my profiles to the mouse’s RAM so I wouldn’t have to install the junk on my gaming rig. Not sure if that matters but I thought it may be relevant.

Yup. This is an issue with the game. Usually happens during pvp in frantic situations. Incredibly annoying. I also hate how sometimes the targeting circles stay with the cursor even after the spell is cast.
The camera needs to zoom out more too.
Honestly, the camera and targeting is friggin horrible in this game.

Same issue, it started up just a few days ago! It seems like sometimes the game isn’t properly realizing the right-click is held when moving the mouse: IE, I can right-click and hold and move the mouse and the poitner just slides around. Sometimes it will spontaneously pick up the movement and begin turning, other times I’ll get no right-click-to-turn movement at all. Something is up and it’d be awesome to see this addressed. Be sure to bug report it!

Same issue here, it’s almost on the verge of being game-breaking at times. Sometimes it doesn’t even go into mouse look when I press and hold right-button, especially in wvwvw.
It seems that whenever I have my pointer over for example a gate, it won’t go into mouse look.

And it is worse when a lot of action is going on…

I have noticed that if i drag it very, very slowly, it seems to work okay most of the time. Which leads me to believe it is a coding/registering problem of some sort. I have already done everything I can on my end. I am 100% sure I’m not hitting the UI, and I have also submitted a bug report. I suppose all that is left to do now is wait.

Man it troubles me everyday. Gw2 minimizes itself so I tried to disable all kinds of service, start up applications. In the end it’s gw2’s issue with dual screens.

This just started happening to me yesterday along with a few other issues.
I really hope there’s a way to solve this soon as the repair didn’t solve it & the game is becoming unplayable for me since I rely heavily on my right-click.

I tested other games and the right click works as normal, It’s only Guild Wars 2 that it suddenly drops off. The strange thing to me is up until yesterday the game worked like a dream. I’m not sure what could have happened.

happens for me as well, just noticed it recently tbh.

I have a Razer mamba and blackwidow for mouse/keyboard respectively.

It is like the right click turn sometime does not register, I have to do it multiple times and it is pretty bad specially when kiting or pvping.

Must’ve been one of the recent patches that broke this, I don’t recall it being this bad.

I have the same problem! very frustrating. This just started happening a few days ago, I wonder if one of the patches broke this.

I just finished uninstalling my AMD drivers & Razer software then re-installing the newest drivers for both. I also used the Guild Wars 2 “-repair”, then tried to use my right-click again, & with-in the first click it didn’t register.

I’m not sure if this helps any one who might be able to fix this, since this has to be the game or I’m missing something in my assumption.

Also having the same problem – was wondering if it was my mouse as well, but not having the issue in other games, or during normal use in any other application. Never had the problem until pretty recently, so it must have been broken in a fairly recent build of the game.

There’s too many mice and driver varieties listed here for this to specific to one brand/driver. Help?

Those with gaming mice should turn up the USB polling rate (you can actually do this for a standard mouse too, if you know how) to see if that alleviates the issue.

That isn’t a fix really, but may help until A.Net can figure out what’s going on with some peoples mice.

Default Windows USB polling rate: 125hz

Ya’ll should try: 250hz, 333hz, 500hz, and 1000hz.

basically when u click to mouselook OR click to place an aoe AND a mob happens to be under your mouse cursor it will deselect the fighting target and u have to manually trace him back.

I dont like that.

Yes, it definitely seems that the more is going on, the worse it is. Definitely a coding issue

I am having this issue quite frequently. It is very frustrating. I thought it was my mouse right button dieing, as this is the only game im playing atm. I decided to google and low and behold this is a game bug.

I have the same issue. I submitted a ticket to support about this and they have gotten back to me a few times with suggestions of things to try, including disabling all other non-essential programs and services, updating drivers and wiping all traces of old drivers from my system. Nothing has worked so far, and I am pretty convinced this is a GW2 bug, pure and simple.

By the way, I am using a Logitech MX3200 keyboard/mouse combo. I have never had any other issues with my mouse in any other game.

running on 1000 and still the same.
normal 5$~ mouse doesn’t have the problem

Have the same issue in this game. My right click will sometimes not work, or if it does it releases while I’m holding it down. This is super annoying as I usually do all my char movement with my mouse. I’ve tested it in other games and have no issues. I have a Logitech G700. Hope this can get resolved soon!
