The problem was Gixx wasn’t there for some reason the first few times I did it. It sent me to talk to Sieran first. Now I tried it again and Gixx was there, I got the cutscene, and it seems to be working.
Thanks for replying. I’m on “Meet with the Durmand Priory’s scholars – Travel to the Priory Archives in Lion’s Arch.” I talked to Kekt and Sieran in the instance, above where the trading post used to be. I got an email about Ascalonian Catacombs (from the herald, not DP), and read it. But, the green star is still pointing to where Kekt and Sieran are in the LA instance. I’ve talked to them a couple more times but it isn’t advancing. Also the “exit instance” button isn’t showing up. So, it seems to want me to do something else in the instance but there isn’t anything else to do.
I cannot move past “Meet with the Durmand Priory’s Scholars – Travel to the Priory Archive in Lion’s Arch.”
I have gone through it a couple of times and it gives me the Ascolonian Catacombs email but it doesn’t complete the personal story quest.
pretty much what you said
Thanks. It might be a nice addition to the API to be able to request this information directly. I also found this older thread that has some info, in case anyone else is researching this: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/community/api/How-to-test-if-a-temple-is-open
Which events do you check to determine whether a temple is open? I can see a few possibilities for Balthazar (for example):
{"id":“D35D7F3B-0A9B-41C6-BD87-7D7A0953F789”,“name”:“Use the Pact weapons to kill the Risen giant guarding the area near the temple of Balthazar.”}
{"id":“29DA1A21-887F-49F4-9999-DCB1FC9A35AA”,“name”:“Kill the veteran Risen Acolyte of Balthazar.”}
{"id":“D0E0A04C-A669-40F4-9606-E8877CE3ED32”,“name”:“Defeat the ancient Risen warriors in Balthazar’s arena.”}
Should you check all of them?
I just destroyed 4 gates with rams, I was sitting in the ram the entire time, but didn’t get credit for any of them.
This isn’t a great choice for birthday gifts or massive chests. By the time you’ve been playing for a year, your characters are probably all (or at least mostly) over level 20. I’ve been playing since release and have 5/8 professions over 20. I did use one scroll so far from the birthday gift. I won’t get another birthday for about 4 months, and I have another 500 achievement points until I get a massive chest. So I can either (a) hold off levelling the remaining 3 professions past 20, which I don’t really want to do, or (b) level them, which is playing the game the way I’d want to, but then having 3-4 experience scrolls that I just delete. Or, © create more characters of the same profession, which would involve buying another slot, and would also be kind of boring, since I’ve already levelled that profession once.
I think a good way to fix this item would be to make it grant 20 levels (or even just 5-10 levels) at any level. (E.g. if you are level 25 go to 45.)
I currently have local time selected for the in-game clock, and it’s showing the time 2 hours behind the actual local time. I’m in Central Time, and on Fort Aspenwood (not sure what time zone that server is, apparently Pacific). It was working yesterday.
I would like to know what are the pros and cons of salvaging rares after the latest patch. Do they have a better chance than fine & masterwork of dropping MF? Or exotic mats?
If that’s true and they are expensive to make, then probably you can sell them for a decent amount.
Or does it always start on the hour?
I like it too. Some people will always find a reason to criticize things.
Would it be possible to make the little window that says either the location of the invasion or “Tyrian authorities have issued a warning” to always stay open once you click it? Otherwise, when you’re waiting for an invasion, you have to constantly keep clicking it in order to see if one has started. Thanks.
I thought all classes have some kind of attack move. My point is that if I had went down first, I could have got him down before he finished me. Then I would be up with more health (25%) than I had before I went down. I would probably have been able to finish him without going down again (due to higher health). It seems like going down provided an advantage here by the free 25% heal, which I didn’t get to use.
This happened to me twice yesterday in SPvP. I was fighting someone 1v1. We were pretty evenly matched and both close to down, but I had a little more health and got him down first. Before I could finish him, he used his downed attack to get me down — it only took a couple hits since I was close to down. Then, he’s back at 25% health and invulnerable for one sec, but I’m still down. Since he now has more health than I did when he was down, he’s able to finish me.
Does this make sense? It seems like going down first gave him an advantage.
So now that we no longer use tournament tickets we can exchange them for a chest. My question is does the chest you receive depend on your rank? So should I wait until a higher rank to turn in my tickets, or do you get the same chest regardless?
The graphics engine and low FPS is a known problem although Anet doesn’t really admit it. A search for “improving performance in wvw” gives 6.6 million results in google. You will find many little “tricks” suggested, like adjust some BIOS setting, upgrade your drivers, overclock your CPU, etc. I have tried these and I still get unreasonably low frame rates. I have a pretty powerful PC that can handle BF3, Far Cry 3, Skyrim, Planetside 2, etc. at max settings with 40-60 FPS. In WvW even with only 5-10 players on the screen it slows down to about 10-15 FPS. Additionally, turning down graphics settings makes no difference and none of the CPU cores get over 80% utilization, ever. GPU is barely over 50% utilization. There is something wrong with the graphics engine.
Does this still require you to get all points in a single zone in a single session, or does it only reset when you actually die? (following the in-game description)
There was some mention of a “WvW progression path” in one of the dev’s blog post. Not many details however. But still, why do you feel the need to do the dailies? The rewards aren’t that useful if you only ever do WvW.
Is this to start the story step? It’s displaying the shortest route to the start, but it doesn’t know which gates are closed to you. Go to the world map, zoom out, and look down Trinity is located, by Orr.
Ah yeah that’s it. Telling me to go through the gate in the Vigil Keep, which is not Fort Trinity. Thank you.
Sorry if this is obvious, but I can’t find him. The green dot looks like it’s in the Asura gate room, but the guard doesn’t let me in there. Can anyone explain where he is to start the mission? Thanks.
I am wondering why I can’t put gems in my Enduring Back Brace. I’ve tried a few different gems and a sigil but it won’t take them…
there’s already a thread for this with 100+ replies… Anet has acknowleged the problem but there’s not any solution yet. Have you tried the beta drivers?
I get FPS from about 15 – 60. Average is about 30, and lower in crowded areas. GPU usage never goes above 50%, usually at about 20%. One CPU core is usually close to maxed out, but the rest are usually about 50%.
I’ve tried the current Nvidia drivers as well as the two available beta versions, but it doesn’t seem to make any difference which driver version I use. See dxdiag for system information… should be getting 100 FPS or above with my system.
