My sentiment with the biggest problem in dungeons is that as an 80 I don’t want to play with lower level players who will slow me down. I presume this isn’t the problem you are referring to, because it wouldn’t affect me at all. After this weekend, all 8 of my characters will be 80 and I have no intention of ever making another character and likewise I will have no intention of ever dungeoning with a sub 80.
My condolences, since you will not be able to benefit from the rewards multiplier. ^^

Today i observed a human playing with a domesticated common household cat.
I will never be able to stand anywhere within 2 meters of a human ever again. Alchemy forbid if have to sleep within a hundred meters from one now without encasing my entire head.

It’s not ninja looting. Everyone gets loot from the boss. The issue here is that the instance owner doesn’t wait for everyone else to grab loot before leaving.
I’m not sure if penalizing 80s even more would work, players will just complain and find other excuses not to take sub-80s.

Probably means Gold currency you earn for completing the dungeon, which I overlooked. Would you guys rather have it in? I mean it’s a great idea for players overall.

Hmm. You don’t want to make the 80’s unaffected by the multiplier. Otherwise that would just perpetuate the problem and unbalance it otherwise. Instead have it so they are affected by the multiplier but, in turn, cannot affect it. Their presence does not change the multiplier but if there are lower-leveled players in the team they would still all get the benefit from it.
This is exactly how it should work, I may not have typed it clearly. 80s don’t add to the multiplier, but they do get the extra tokens for running with lowbies.
Rewarding people for contributing less? No no no. It’s like the MF fiasco all over again.
If you read carefully you would see the the team would get the benefits, not just the lower-leveled players. As that is the case, is there a downside to this?
I’d like to think not. Lowbies will level up, 80s will get higher token count.
From watching a lot of MMOs grow over time, once you’ve introduced a mechanic, adding in penalties later for “not doing it the way the devs want it even if it abides by all rules” generates more player backlash than it does to improve the situation.
Ultimately it’s up to ANet to see what ideas fit and what doesn’t though.

+0.1 token/karma multiplier for each group member that happens to be within 15 levels of recommended level.
+0.05 multiplier for each party member that happens to be within 30 levels.
Level 80s exempt from token multiplier under all circumstances.
A person’s multiplier contribution is reset to 0 if he/she switches character midway through the dungeon.
The first checkpoint is put somewhere after selecting a path to allow for last minute changes. If you enter the dungeon after this point, you can not switch characters without forfeiting your multiplier contribution.
So 5 players below level 50 running AC Explore will get 1.5x multiplier and will each recieve 90 tokens.
2 80s and 3 60s will get 1.15x multiplier, and every person will recieve 69 tokens.
2 80s, 2 60s and 1 45 will get a 1.2x multiplier, and each person will get 72 tokens.

I’ve seen groups of kitten level 80s in crafted exotics wipe on AC Explore repeatedly because they can’t do Hodgin’s DPS check.
And then I had another run where two of us brought 3 <50 players in. We completed all three paths flawlessly, and even got 2 Kholer kills across 3 attempts.
Scaling is fun. Geared level 80s who think they’re hot kitten are not.
I think anyone who is “80 only” when it comes to things like AC/CM/TA/SE basically has no idea how to fight and needs to be carried.
I take lowbies through these things all the time.
I bought 20. Not worth it.
I’d pay real money to be able to transmute my head armor into a pair of glasses.
Anyone who demands for “all 80 only” for stuff like AC/CM/TA probably can’t handle themselves in a fight.

So i did some number crunching and here are my expected stats at level 80. How will this set of gear hold up as general purpose equipment? (and how well will it survive respecs into completely different trait builds?)

If you find yourself missing your target repeatedly, double click it while stationary. It will usually center your aim at it.
…this being a typical fantasy MMO, I can basically do that achievement in as little as an hour and a half each day after work.
EDIT: okay maybe not. But an hour and a half each day, and i can finish that achievement in two days.
IMHO, turret CD needs to be changed to 20-30s depending on the turrets, and stats adjusted to compensate for improved CD.
Turrets also need to draw far less aggro and take FAR reduced damage when not the main target of an attack.
And then the Rifle Turret needs to be less lame looking. This is just asking for too much, but getting the Rifle Turret to use a skill similar to a thief’s “unload” but with far weaker damage and half the shots per burst would be awesome.
Hi! New engineer here, with a question.
I get that the Healing Turret can be combo’d with it’s own self destruct, but i wasn’t aware there were more complex variations. Two guildies referenced a “Healing Turret 4-Button press combo?” in context of another engineer player doing it frequently, but the engineer being referenced hasn’t logged on for a while so I have been unable to ask.
Anyone know? I figured the more experienced engineers would know this.

I kinda like this idea, if only because every race having a dinky looking gun turret is a bit of a put off, but I’m sure the devs have other priorities.
..if not, I’m all for anything that allows a graphic change.
its the best monthly since launch. all extremely easy and for once im not forced to do freaking wvw and most importantly youtube/google 30 puzzles (which i didn’t do and that was my first monthly uncompleted)

Just pointing out that OP’s issue is that everyone is spamming Kholer with AoEs and drowns out his charge up animation…

I have no idea how I managed it on my mesmer, but i guess i learned the more subtle signs from fighting up close as a warrior.
Also, a friend who plays an Ele swears that Chill delays his PBAoE.
This patch made me buy a rifle and a new axe on my warrior and stick sigil of nullification on it, and my Mesmer to melee with sword in addition to Arcane Thievery and Nullfield because Rabsovich (and all dredge for that matter) takes forever to die now that we can’t drag him out and anything i can do to remove as many as his boons as quickly as possible helps.
Have a quota meter on the top right of the screen.
For killing 59% or less skippables, you get reduced tokens at the end of a run.
60% of the skippables, you get par amount of tokens.
Kill 80%, large bonus in tokens and a guaranteed rare (sometimes exotic).
There, incentive to kill trash.

What is the community stance on MF Runes? I’d like to confess that I do actually use Berserker armor/weapons, and Valkyrie Trinkets, but I slot my armor with Traveler Runes..
