Council Leader of Flux Capacity [FLUX]
Tarnished Coast
I live in the same state as the servers so my ping was always fantastic, like ~20ms. The last day or two has been absolutely awful, my ping averages 150ms+ and everything skips arounds and seems to drop frames, my skills lag, other characters seems to teleport around the battlefield, and I can’t react to fights because things register too late due to the microlag. it constantly gets me killed and makes GW2 a frustrating and unenjoyable experience.
I have also crashed at least once due to the game lagging so badly, which hasn’t happened to me in over a year.
This is really irritating for me because I regularly lead our guild’s dungeon groups and some events and I can’t do that when I can’t tell what’s going on and I get killed every fight. From what I see in this thread my complaint is pretty common amongst others and people who had issues already aren’t reporting any improvements.
I hope this experiment ends soon so I can return to having a game I can actually play.
Always looking for more cool cats for our free form jazz club.
FLUX is still interested in recruiting new friends to feed to Mawdrey, come join us!

About FLUX:
Flux Capacity is a PvX guild formed in 2011, comprised of like-minded individuals, seeking friendship, fun, and completing content together. We aim to maintain a somewhat casual atmosphere, so that we can reach our goals without placing unreasonable demands on our time, while still progressing and experiencing all that GW2 has to offer.
We have an active core group, and host guild events five times a week (guild missions, WvW, dungeons & fractals, and more) as well as unscheduled dungeons, fractals, and WvW havoc grouping throughout the week. We have all guild missions and upgrades unlocked.
We enjoy helping out new 80s and returning players, so don’t be discouraged if you feel like you aren’t experienced enough to join us. Some of our events are geared precisely towards helping inexperienced players! As long as you are willing to learn, have fun, and participate, FLUX is excited to have you, and we hope you’ll be just as excited to explore content that may be new to you.

Dear submitters,
Please get lots of cool shots of the one-time event that starts today. I want to live vicariously through you, so don’t disappoint or I will find you.
Kindest regards,
Everyone that has to work
If you don’t like Diessa Plateau for those reasons then you are really going to have a time with Malchor’s Leap.
That awkward moment when I’m a guy and play 3/5 female characters >.>
That awkward moment when I’m a girl and play 3/5 male characters.
Can we be friends?
Completion includes cities and WvW maps.
The Mists (PVP maps) and dungeons have POI’s and such but they don’t count towards completion so don’t break your neck trying to get those done.
Technically there is no limit on generating Gifts of Exploration since you can endlessly delete and recreate characters.
Oh, Charr? Another for the fold!
Warrior is super versatile, they can use so many different weapons and combinations it’s difficult to get bored (at least for me, there’s always a negative nancy out there). Guardian is the same. It was difficult for me to decide as well but ultimately Warrior was just more fun to me.
CHARR WARRIOR BROS /fistbump
Sea of Sorrows has a huge Oceanic presence, but at the same time that means it’s listed as Full pretty much 24/7.
You can try your luck but expect to be disappointed.
I never saw this thread coming. Judging from the Halloween event, no player would ever be ready and willing to shed crocodile tears over an obvious chance-to-win item.
SAID NO ONE EVER
I’ve seen people use ‘toon’ in every single MMO I’ve ever played, which covers about thirteen years. It wasn’t just British people either, I’ve seen everyone use it: Oceanics, Americans, Australians, Russians, Europeans of all sorts.
It’s pretty common. If it truly annoys you, you’re in trouble.
Sadly I’ve noticed the story and such doesn’t really touch on magic all that much, or is a bit contradicting. Dinky is a good example, one of his dialogues talks about being afraid of magic but he’s a friggin’ Guardian and as such uses magic on a regular basis.
Personally I think the Charr as a whole are intelligent and perceptive enough to know that magic itself wasn’t the real problem, it was the ones wielding it and turning it to sinister purpose. So I believe they are cautious of it, and rightfully so, but as a whole I don’t think they shun people for using it unless they use it with malevolent intentions.
In my last Charr’s story, my character found a Charr elementalist being held prisoner by Flame Legion who intended to try and corrupt him to their side simply because he could use magic. He wanted none of it and you break him out. Others treat him pretty much the same as any other charr, save a few pointing out he’s an elementalist, but they ultimately don’t really care.
Same goes for if you pick the Loyal Soldier option for your sire. He’s a mesmer and no one seems to care.

you can get a mystic forge stone as a reward from Daily? oO
I have always had mystic coins :/
Yep, I had no idea until I got one the other day.
It’s sitting in my bank until I figure out what to do with it.
The PvE skin would be Dawn, the legendary precursor.
Poof, there went your hopes and dreams!
Not currently.
Kind of strange, but meh.
Quaggan’s a piwate! YARR!
Also, I know it wasn’t just for Halloween but that Norn in LA … BY OGDEN’S HAMMER, WHAT SAVINGS.
I spent 30 dollars for minipets and bank and bag space.
I got a huge tax refund this year and am way within my budget so spending a little money wasn’t an issue, especially when the Halloween pets are so cute. If they have more cute minipets, I’ll probably look into getting them.
I’m as badkitten as any male, and I do it without their smooshed-in pug face or sounding like I’m drooling every other sentence!
Hell yes. I play to have fun and this wasn’t fun. No complaints from me, though: I’m glad that the game includes content aimed for all sorts of players, so obviously I have to expect some of it I’ll find fun and some I won’t.
I wish the entire player population were as chill as you.
I feel ya. Tried to play Silent Hill 3 the other day but blaarrgghhh it looks terrible.
Tear of Grenth is a transparent shard of ice.

Not sure about the other, haven’t heard of it and it doesn’t show up in the DB. D:
Edit: Found it! http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/File:Glimmerfang.jpg
I even stumbled apon a report on Devil May Cry 3 a couple weeks ago ..back from when it wa released to us westerners. Apparently the Devs accidentily made the western version normal mode the equivilant to japans hard mode, causing players ot get pissedo f becousei t was to hard. I didnt even notice lol. I didnt find the game challenging till i went up on the difficulty after 1 play through.
What you read is true. They even released a “Special Edition” later on that they made easier than easy. I remember spending a whole evening just trying to kill Cerberus (on the original release), going rage mode until it just clicked, I got it, and after that I couldn’t play it on anything less than Hard.
I know exatly what you mean
another part of it for me was knowing that my ten year old self probably could have done this with the Inventory box open and eating a hot pocket.
Haha, oh man. This didn’t occur to me as I was doing it, but you’re right.
Ten year old me is laughing somewhere because they just did it with inverted controls, half the screen missing and upside-down while picking out their next pair of neon-colored shoes.
LAND SHARKS!
That’s funny, it seems like this SP is always bugged but this is the first time I’ve seen this.
Oh my god Josh no. JOSH. NO.
Please don’t hold back on creating these things just because some people got mad.
People will ALWAYS be mad about SOMETHING. There are some people that live their whole lives just raging mad, and they want to. Some people are just miserable and enjoy being miserable and dragging other people into it. Some people suck.
Not saying everyone that didn’t like the puzzle are miserable horrible people, but just pointing out that no matter what you do, a great many people aren’t going to like it. You can’t please everyone, especially on the internet where everyone is semi-anonymous.
This topic was a conduit for rage, and you shouldn’t take it too hard. Look at the scenario, someone tries the puzzle for hours on end, making themselves more and more angry the whole time. They then come on the forums, still possessed by all that anger, and post some dramatic scathing review of how terrible and horrible everything is.
Given time to chill out, I think they’d have a response that was less harsh and apocalyptic, end-of-the-world, my-holiday-is-ruined-by-pixels.
If you try to please everyone, you won’t make anyone happy.
Ooohh, that one. Forgot the portal closed.
Well I’m just full of kitten aren’t I!
What achievement exactly are you missing? None of them were specifically for Act 3 since you could achieve them all the last day of the whole event if you wanted to.
^ Same. On all counts.
I installed Fallout 3 from disk and it would randomly drop off the menu but hasn’t in awhile, and I haven’t played it in quite some time now.
Also awhile back with the same game, steam overlay just wouldn’t work. The game ran fine and so did steam, it just would never bring up the overlay. Then one day it just decided to work.
Never had a problem with anything since then.
Ooo, Fred Tatasciore. He’s been in tons of my favorite games.
Also, CHEEEEEEESE!
ps does this mean “tatas” isn’t censored

I wish the troll “Trading Post” door next to the bank in LA would stay.
There was a hat, I missed the chest underneath the throngs of people since I did it right when the first one started, but no worries.
It’s pretty standard, nothing special really. It’s hardly a thing to feel shafted over.
It was more fulfilling to see people /say’ing the yes/no emotes and getting killed over and over again because they didn’t understand and wouldn’t listen.
You can also jump into PVP and World versus World right from the get-go if you’re into that sort of thing.
And then there’s Keg Brawl in Hoelbrak, and hopefully more minigames in the future.
Two stacks of keys and nothing Halloween related, but several karma and magic find boosters. And more fodder for the Mystic Forge!
I also got the pets because I never want to be without a plastic spider ever again.
People that call this illegal gambling are fools. You buy a key, you unlock the box, you get something everytime. Whether or not it’s something you wanted is entirely subjective, you’re the ones that voluntarily turn it into a gamble and then lash out when you don’t get what you want.
kittening hilarious.
Biggest possible female Charr
Smallest possible female Sylvari
Took under an hour. I like climbing and jumping on things in all games ever, so I suppose that helps. Once you get past the beginning part reliably, it gets much easier.
Plus everyone else is usually dead.
No boosts.
Addiction to challenge.
And because if I can kill Akylios without dying, I can make a series of jumps.

@ Durzlla
Apologies, spear*, not speargun.
My bad!
Hit escape so you deselect your target.
You can also deselect by clicking anywhere else on screen.

I love these legendaries because they making killing maladjusted people hilariously good fun.
More skins would be nice, though, greatswords get three (THREE!) but every other one other than speargun gets one.
Back when the game first launched you could come across event zergs in lower zones but since then people have leveled beyond them and new players don’t come in huge amounts all at once like launch.
There are huge events for sure, though, like people have posted. At the dragons, in Orr, sometimes at lower zone bosses, certain event chains, etc. It also depends somewhat on the server you’re on.
I switched to Ehmry from Sea of Sorrows last night and there were way more people in Queensdale on Ehmry.
I forgot about Cannibal. That kid has a cool mom and/or dad.
I wouldn’t mind playing an AC game starring a charr.
@ Moirweyn
He’s a Risen? Oh. Oh, wait. Hah, I get it.
As a massive Iron Legion charr with a penchant for hitting first and asking questions later, I fully endorse a tiny and adorable plush version of pirate quaggan.
Please note: both “tiny” and “adorable”. May your human gods have mercy on you if you disregard these details!
Whoa buddy, that’s pretty cool.
I just started playing that game the other day. I think you’ve done great so far with what you’re given in this game, if I notice any footwear that might pull it off, I’ll pass it along.
Will definitely be easy to remember this topic, haha.
Ho there, traveler!
Extending a welcome to Sea of Sorrows, if you would be obliged to check out our server. This humble charr would love to help, if you can look past the fur and the teeth. I’m always logged on at that time.
Always.
I hope the tails don’t bother you. I’m a Charr that loves to party. What do you call a Charr party? A CHARRTY. HAHAHAHAHAH.
There’s two from the story, one near the beginning and one near the end. These two have no visual.
If you’re in a guild with the guild armorer perk, you can buy a backpack from the NPC for 5G. This one has a visual (a backpack!).
You can also get one from the new Halloween quest from the Magister in the square in Lion’s Arch. It also has a visual and looks like a giant book on your back. :D
I see you’re a thief, but if you were an engineer, you could pick a backpack during character creation, as well.
Any level, even level one. Just find a Juvenile version of that pet out in the world, you can walk up to it and tame it. I forget what button it is, it will tell you when you get close to it.
