There’s multiple zones for the level 1-15 range, you could try exploring another race’s starting zone, or completing a couple of cities. That should net you a couple of levels at least.

I do support direct to buy skins. I’ve played lots of F2P games and skins are a staple so this is nothing new to me. Not sure how to judge price, though anything more than 10USD for a single skin (especially if one-use) is kind of pushing it.

4. Do you believe that future events will also be handled with random number generation to make profit based on limited time item acquisition?

Probably. If they plan on running events like they did in GW1, there will be more chances to acquire these things later on.

5. If you believe that the future events will be handled in the same manner, does this realization negatively effect your trust of Arena Net in regard to handling micro transactions for permanent content?

No. Having played several F2Ps (and even some P2P!) with abysmally terrible cash shop practices, I’m bewildered by the ferocious reactions around here.

I saw a few while getting all the pages for the Memoires book, since I ran everywhere. There’s one (Charr, I think) by the portal between Gendarran Fields and Kessex Hills. If you go through that portal, there’s another one on the path that runs by the Lawen Ponds.

There were more but those are the only ones whose locations I remember precisely, apologies.

I’ve noticed several of these kinds of NPCs scattered around. Ghostly, act as if you’re already on a mission for them.

I assumed they would be relevant in a later act, some confirmation would be nice.

A real go-getter, that Thurmain. He doesn’t seem to care that I’m a male charr, he just wants to get with that.

All NA servers use PST.

It doesn’t matter, people from all timezones are on NA servers, even people from other countries. The difference between servers is going to be the community, whether or not it’s WvW focused, PVE focused, RP focused, and such.

Even that changes from time to time as people use the free transfer feature. You’ll probably get people selling their server to you (hi TC!), but in the meantime you could check the guilds subforum at the bottom of the forum listing and see what kinds of guilds are listed for certain servers to see what kind of focus it probably has.

Sea of Sorrows is great, by the way. It’s populated pretty much all the time since it has both NA and Oceanic people.

Your race’s home city has a portal that will take you to Lion’s Arch, you don’t have to walk there. You can get there at level one if you wanted.

Love this game, came from Aion, and Rift before that. I enjoy games and tech in general and always have, even when I was small and the internet wasn’t a thing.

My roommate doesn’t normally get hyped up over games but this one has her chomping at the bit every day to play. She accosts me the moment I walk in the door demanding that I log on and help her feed her candy corn addiction.

I get this too and I kittening hate it. It only started after they went around jacking with the settings that spawned the wuvwuv issues.

It leaves a bad taste that top-tier PC builds can have a character run straight through Lion’s Arch, while taking bets on how many player characters actually show up.

Though the question was aimed at someone else, I can add that I do get at least that much FPS on my older pre-Sandy non-OC i5 in wuvwuv so it’s fair to assume you would too.

I love my charr, I have three and I have a terrible feeling I’m going to spend more gold for more slots for more charr.

I also love the Ascalon zones, especially ones that had the Brand push through them, it makes me sad they emptied out pretty quickly after launch. I love the perpetual autumn colors and seeing all the ruins that represent the history since GW1.

Having played MMOs and RPGs in general since I was small, I suppose I’ve grown weary of places like Caledon, it just feels like I’ve already been there. I always save it for last now when I do map completions.

Seconding this, I always forget town clothes are even a thing since they’re tucked away in the customization screen.

I built a desktop with an Intel CPU and ATi GPU two years ago and it’s been better and more reliable than my roommate’s Intel/Nvidia, and my best friend built an AMD/Nvidia which runs great as well, also two years ago. Coming up on three now.

It’s fine to mix CPU/GPU manufacturers, plus it gives you a greater amount of things to pick and choose from. Variety is the spice of life and all that.

@ Thanatos – ATi is great, lots of bang for small bucks. I have an older 5870 and it still rips this game a new one despite being quite old, you’d do great with a 7870.

Also I’m going to second the posterguy above me, Noctua is head and shoulders above any other brand when it comes to CPU coolers.

Well, since it’s plastic, it doesn’t move its legs or anything, it just rocks from side to side super fast when you run. It looks just utterly ridiculous and I love it almost as much as I love quaggans in costumes.

On behalf of myself and .. myself, thank you for Plastic Spider and it’s accompanying animations. My companions and I were most amused by this tiny and dapper little lad and his green-tinted japeries.

I must have skipped over that since it doesn’t make any grammatical sense and thus I couldn’t clearly decipher what he meant. I can guess but I would prefer not to do that since that presents its own handful of problems. I still find his post pretty tame, especially in comparison to the other garbage posted around here.

All the NPCs should be marked with a giant candy corn icon on your map, check with them.

I feel like an advertising board saying this but there is a guild on Sanctum of Rall server named Gaiscioch that you might be interested in. They’re an adult community, friendly to new people (even people new to MMOs entirely), and all that stuff. I’m not a part of the guild but knew people in it, they definitely establish a community wherever they go.

As an international game, it doesn’t matter when they patch, it will always be an inconvenience for somebody.

And that somebody will let you know about it.

No salvage kits to my knowledge, though you mentioning cooking leads me to ask if you bought all the karma recipes from your crafting NPCs?

Can spend a little bit there though you’d still have a lot left over.

There are several mage-type classes to pick from: elementalist, mesmer, and necromancer. If you’re feeling fiesty you could try guardian too, they can act like both a warrior and a caster.

Elementalist has a metric crap ton of skills so that can be a bit overwhelming for someone new. Mesmer relies on illusion-type combat so it can be tricky, but fun if you really get into it. Necromancer is self-explanatory, summon pet undead to help you and put tons of conditions on your enemies.

What server are you on? If you’re on Sea of Sorrows I’d be glad to help out. If you haven’t picked yet, there’s a guild on Sanctum of Rall called Gaiscioch that is very newbie friendly, has tons of nice people to help you, and holds lots of events.

I rather like guardian for supporting, since I can still get in the thick of things if I want to and starting swinging large bits of metal around.

Elementalist is somewhat fun if you like healing but since it needs a little help from other people to get the biggest effect, and some of the people out in the game world are braindead (OMG IT’S A KITTENING COMBO FIELD USE IT), I personally get a little disappointed with it. Whereas, with guardian, I feel like I can just wade in there and the skills I normally use to bash things will also give everyone sweet boons like aegis and might so hey that’s cool.

Ranger is pretty fun and has lots of survival skills, but the pet pathing gets kind of annoying since you can’t control them and they have a tendency to accidentally Leeroy Jenkins, especially out in Orr.

Staff necro is easy to me, with all the AoE and pets. Just throw your pets at groups of mobs, throw down your AoEs and kite until they all die. I’m probably doing it wrong but it works.

Thief is also a good one if you’re an explorer, what with the stealth. You can cruise past tons of stuff to get to places, makes map completion a breeze and they’re a hilarious troll class. Don’t like the odds stacked against you? Just peace out with cloak and dagger and short bow shadow step.

I noticed it showed up for me after the PlaySpan hack (GW1 uses this for it’s cash shop), and I have a GW1 account linked to GW2 so I figured it was a precautionary measure by Anet to limit the potential damage.

It’s also good to change your password every so often, anyway.

@ Eicherjw.3926 – Daish = some chav you should put on block as soon as possible. The only thing he’s good at in wuv is distracting his team with terrible commentary and random insane demands.

It makes me laugh though because he spent (or someone spent) 100g for his commander tag and all it does it get him ignored.
