Don’t agree. The recipes exist but they cost even higher prices (ie 4 mystic coins for 1 sigil or rune) than buying off TP for 3 gold. And your theory of prices coming down later – why would that be the case, because there is no new supply except for new creation at more than ;4 gold per sigil.

Maybe Anet thought there was sufficient supply to leave out this year, but they should know that no supply of a highly needed item = smart entrepreneur taking profits. Hopefully they wake up and put some supply of sigils back in the presents.

Thanks for the fix, but I have an ongoing issue.

Account 1 – the problem with not map loading went away and I played some.

Account 2 – running off the same computer and dat file – problem still there – I even reloaded account 1 twice successfully but when I went to account 2 I got that wonderfully stirring music but map load would fail, the error would flick up and then boot.

Account 3 – housemate – different computer – will load

Edit – never mind – good old power recycle fixed the issue on account 2 – false alarm.

Suggestion - Ascended gear and hacking

in Account & Technical Support

Posted by: Aku Punksha.1542

Aku Punksha.1542

I will preface by saying I had a rich account – it got hacked – I got restored but they keep going after it. Currently hacked again but while they will get about 40 gold or not even 1% of the first hack what they are likely to do is sell all ascended weapons for 1 gold, all ascended armour for 2s and all ascended trinkets for 4s. In fact of the 40 gold they will get about half that from selling my ascended weapons.

I will not be requesting a 2nd rollback – they are rarely granted and neither should they be. It does frustrate me though that items that take so much time and effort to make as “best in class” are not better protected when they are also not economy threatening (ie can’t be traded but for some reason can be merched). The idea for wvw weapons / armour was / is hacker proof – can’t sell and can’t salvage. The ascended gear goes half way there – cannot salvage, but it doesn’t close the deal on cannot sell.

2 options spring to mind for Anet to act on this.

1) Make ascended items time gated so that you can only sell one per day

2) Keep ascended items sellable but make the seller have to type out the name of the item as is needed now to dump boxes of fun and other account bound items

That would prevent hackers selling much if any ascended gear – they are under time pressure and only want what can be quickly clicked. It also means that people will still have a lot of stuff when they pick up devastated accounts.

My situation – yeah, hacked twice despite doing everything I thought I could. I will next week have to step down from ascended (best in class) and start playing all wvw items. This topic is not about getting anything back – it is about helping the next wave of people. I will take the step down and stop all ascended crafting on all accounts, but many faced with this would probably just leave the game. That is why I want Anet to follow through with this idea.

Regards
Hacked and Depressed.

I have more than one account. All accounts had or have email authentication. On one account this has stopped. How do I go about turning it back on. A ran a test last night and powered down my modem. This one account let me start straight back up with no authentification email and yet on my other accounts this triggered off the emails.

Well rightly or wrongly, the other account of mine – the one that managed to complete the living story 17 days ago is in day 2 of a temp ban. Support ticket went straight in and been waiting to find out what and why.

I am a respecter and a befriender. I wish people well in the game and try to treat them as I would want to be treated. The only run in I have had with anyone was in Coiled Watch 17 days ago and there was no griefing – my friend needed to redo the event to get one of the rewards to make Mawdrey because they rashly decided on first pass they weren’t doing the scavenger hunt. I don’t know what mass reporting does, and I don’t know if the particular guild who we all now but must remain nameless followed through on their threats and it ticked up enough credits amongst other things to get me this temp ban. It may have nothing at all to do with it and I have inadvertently done something for which punishment and chastisement is deserved.

My ticket has had follow up further to the 2 auto entries and the GM said it would need some detailed investigation. I guess I will find the ban expired before I get ticket resolution, but I will be insisting it be followed through. If I am found to be at fault I need to read through their explanation of what happened and strive to be better. If it was mass reporting though then I will expect to hear back on what follow up will be with the responsible parties.

I ran into a very similar toxic crowd at the same toxic event – as per OP I was trying to help a guildie through living story. Of course I suspect it is the same toxic guild that the topic owner ran up against as well – they are very well known for being at that event and mistreating people. Fortunately my friend has a history of being on the other side so he made very clever use of farm mentality on 3 occasions (pull champs that we could not kill into zerg and they can’t resist killing it) to get the event completed despite all the threats and rants of reporting and map chat about not completing the event.

The simple fix is that the event needs to be changed so that it rewards completion. Keep it as great loot so that it attracts attendees but put it on a 3.5 hour schedule so that farmers show up to want to get it done (getting all loot bags possible) and that people who need to do it have people to play with that have the same goal – completion of objectives.

The post I started after my bad experience was in the bugs section and is entitled “Coiled Watch way more antisocial now” and was 17 days ago. It has been a toxic spot in the guild wars map for almost 3 weeks now and needs addressing. No I am not related to OP nor am I a serial event troller / complainer – not everyone who posts is one of those – some people like me have just run headlong into the abuse that goes on and have posted to say that was not cool.

Getting Ridiculous Exp. at Lev 29

Solution that does work is to do story for L29 – that races you through the crushingly slow part. If you have done your L20-30 story already then it will be a nasty grind till they fix it.

Just reporting same issue. Are they forcing us to do the L20 story chain maybe?

Those that have ground things out to L30 -does it go back to normal after 30?

Whoaa, that’s so stupid and disrespectful… Some people in this game thinks they are king and can rule over others… Sadly it reminds me the champ train at Queensdale, it seems these champ train zerg groups moved to another place..

Agree. I took plenty of screenshots, but there is no changing human nature / greed so I won’t bother with them. It is not the people but the loop hole in the content that is the issue. My goal is to see the event fixed up to meet the Dev intent. Looks to me that the event was actually better the way it was before as the event in its’ current format brings out the worst in people. I am sure with it kittening access to living story content they will want to see it rectified quickly.

Edit – just had to look see what the censer used kittening for – to slow or limit one’s progress

Had to help a friend through a living story here. What we found was a large group that would scale up event 1, then scale up 6/10 rounds of event 2, then pull everyone off the hill to let it fail. The talk was 12 champ bags per 7 minutes.

We explained we wanted to do living story and were not too politely told to eff off. We asked again and were told if we didn’t want to farm champ bags we had to leave. The pair of us struggled on to kill the last 3 waves and in the end we got a little assistance from some people in our struggles. On the Dolyak event the commander in chat was instructing his zerg to scale things up and let Yaks die on us, but they did that too late and we were able to lead the aggro off the yaks at the gate and back into the zerg. In the shaman event again all the commander and his number 2 were insisting were that the event must fail to teach us a lesson. Again we either had enough sympathisers and again we were able to lead the last Shaman back into the main zerg and then player instincts took back over.

The commander and officer then tried to engage us saying how they would have helped us had we asked nicely while at the same time yelling to people to let the event fail.

End result we completed the event but it wasn’t a fun experience to witness how mindless and rabid a group of farmers can get. Many people there with an obvious tag and clearly only there for LOOT.

I suggest if the coiled series fails at all then it reset to the same timer as is active when the event succeeds. That way people will swap off the champ farm when it comes up and they will have a common goal with the players that want to make the event succeed.

829223 now at 7 days since last GM response and this ticket open 9 days. Overall I have been 13 days without my account since it was stolen and the first ticket raised (2 ticket changes at GM request). I know that I am in queue and must be patient but I would have hoped to hear something at all on the ticket in the past week. I know we approach a 3rd weekend, and I am concerned I will miss this living story chapter entirely.

Update: 15 August 2014
821062 – As explained in 829223, this has been escalated for assistance.

Apologies for a mistake I made last week. I responded to a post of yours regarding 821062 when in actual fact I was 820162. I had intent to query because the problem details were so different, and no intent at all to be pushy as someone accused me of. That ticket is now closed and we are working off 829223. I say this to acknowledge my mistake and because the true ticket 821062 might be wondering what happened to his case.

Regarding ticket 829223, I have had 3 contacts, but the most recent of these was 104 hours ago when I was advised that the ticket was being escalated to Account administration.

Thanks
Aku

Update: 13 August 2014

821062 – Agent responded on Sunday. Please see the sticky thread about e-mail issues if you did not receive that response.

Thanks for the response Gaile – nice to hear from an old GW1 face.

821062 – last contact from support GM Draghna (cut out some words to shorten it) was “After review have reason to believe that your e-mail compromised. To ensure security of game account, contact us using different e-mail address never associated with your GW2 account. Upon submitting new ticket, please make the subject of the new ticket this current ticket’s number (820162).” That was received 35 hours ago.

I raised 829223 from a new email account an hour later. I got back the usual 2 replies of request received and will be reviewed, and the automated response for tips on compromised accounts. Have sent one update after doing more extreme malware checks on my home computer that again showed clear.

I know the request spans 3 tickets now, and the time on the new ticket is only 35 hours, but the span since I got to last happily play my account is now at 120 hours.

This thread is for tickets that have gone at least three days without a response – if you have received a response about your issue within a day, it is actively being handled and doesn’t need to be looked into.

That said, I don’t know why a CS agent would want you to open multiple tickets about the same issue, normally that just slows the process. Are you sure you’re being instructed to create a NEW ticket instead of updating your first one with new information?

Sorry – my mistake, I considered the one issue to have been open 100 hours, but you are right – the latest ticket in the sequence is open only 18 hours.

As to the multiple tickets, the issue started with an account hack and after providing information I was asked to open a new email and submit a new ticket quoting the old ticket. I then briefly got my account back before we could use a rollback it got the email changed again – then I was asked to do the same thing again 18 hours ago – so each ticket has been requested to quote the previous one from a new email box. Nothing on the last one since submitting 18 hours ago, but fair enough – I concede I was thinking in terms of the overall problem and not just the latest ticket. I shall reign in my angst and be patient.

Hello,
I am posting for my alt account, The ticket is 821062 which is a 2nd ticket requested by the GM quoting original ticket 819577 raised 84 hours ago.

The GM’s did restore my hacked account and asked me if I wanted a rollback. I replied to say yes but while writing that reply I got the message saying my account email was changed again – I tried to recover but unable to. I want to clarify that I DON’T want a reset until the account is known to be under my control.

This issue was updated 12 hours ago to a 3rd ticket 829223 at request of GM. That ticket is 12 hours old but the total issue is now 96 hours old
