Been a week since last response
I’ve posted in another forum about this as well but I’ve just bugged my ISP about this and they came out and rewired pretty much the whole outside of the house.
We’ll see if that fixes anything with GW2.
I, and another player in my house who uses a different computer, have been having awful lag spikes and disconnects for the past 4 days. Ever since we both downloaded the previous patch, on a note of interest. For 3 days there were no issues with anything other than GW2 disconnecting. We were both still connected to the internet, able to steam movies on netflix while the game continually disconnected. One computer even went full crash.
So, we’ll see if giving the whole house an overhaul fixes the GW2 issue or not. I’ll keep you updated.

Charter Communications
Hello.
I have been having lag issues since the Sky Pirates patch.
My ISP is USA, Charter Communications as well.
I play EVERYTHING else fine. I have 0 lag in any other game. I have NO problems with download or upload. It is only GW2 with this problem. It is ESPECIALLY bad in Sanctum Sprint and it was really bad in Dragon Bash as well. It’s playable everywhere else, with annoying delays at times.
They were medium for a while, you missed out
Meh I’m not even sure if my password changed because it either tells me it needs 8 characters without telling me if my old pw is correct OR it tells me someone is already using the pw or the pw is invalid.
So now I’m locked out of my account and had to submit a ticket. :/

Suggestion: Can we please add finishers. tournament tickets, etc to our PvP Bank?

Playing multiple characters, it is really annoying to have to go LA to deposit and withdraw something from PvP all the time. It would be nice to be able to store these in storage for all my characters especially since Heart of the Mists is the PvP hub, I shouldn’t have to go to L.A. back and forth on multiple characters.
Additionally, can we please up the amount of weapons/armor stored to 2? Or even just the ones that can be dual wielded?

For those wondering why there isn’t a patch right now as of 12:26 9/24 PST, ANet labels the date on the day they work on the patch for deployment so the 9/24 patch won’t be released until 9/25 00:00 PST. I’m not sure why they label it like this, but I’m following their labeling for consistency.
I have annotated the specific times the patch should be deployed on the Reddit thread.
I’m sure they’re monitoring botting closely.
If they ban the bots ASAP, the bots will immediately know which program was detected by ANet. Also, if they ban right away they’ll lose the ability to track their connections. If they ban in waves, they’ll hit bots at once and it’ll be hard to figure out which botting programs were detectable.
ANet created public banning in GW1 so I’m sure they will not be tolerant of this stuff in GW2. (Dhuum was awesome)
Of course, there are also negatives to banning in waves as it allows to bots to benefit/cause more bad stuff to the game economy. But if they are investigating, they’re probably trying to track connections with gold sellers to bots and buyers, etc.
Hopefully they’ll address this soon, perhaps even Monday we’ll see something done.

I’ll do my best to update this over time as I do check the Dev Tracker regularly.
Yeah it’s quite irritating and frustrating at lower levels. Luckily at level 80 100k exp can easily be attained.
Hopefully they get a fix out soon though.

I know the reset the first time was to give people an equal footing (so I completed the achievements so I would get a second chance in September as well) so I already completed the monthly achievements twice this month.
AFAIK there aren’t suppose to be anymore resets, but now my achievements just reset again allowing me to complete the achievements a 3rd time.
I have asked around and apparently a guildie’s reset as well, but my friend’s has not so I do not know what is causing the reset.
Really I just don’t understand why someone would run the same dungeon literally a hundred times to get the armor set they want.
Why not just have it be: you complete the dungeon, you get an armor piece? What’s wrong with that system?
That was the original plan ANet had. The Yellows were cheaper as well and actually had the unique skin. Who knows why they changed it. They could’ve added harder prestige armor elsewhere, or perhaps just in the higher level dungeons.
Story Mode is a piece of cake if you learn the mechanics of the boss. Once you know a boss’s tricks, it’s extremely easy if you know how to play your class and actually dodge important attacks.
For example, that one golem everyone thinks is too hard in Sorrow’s Embrace? If you learn his patterns, which is not that hard to do, and dodge his flame the fight becomes a piece of cake.
Explorable Mode, on the other hand, isn’t meant to be PUG’d and requires teamwork and communication. Even then, explorable mode isn’t that hard either. Unless you have a terrible group, than you’ll have a terrible time.
People need to understand that even with the holy trinity gone there are still roles that need to be taken, and strategies to be utilized. For example, switching skills for certain fights. Projectile heavy fights should utilize heavy blinds and projectile absorption/reflection. I could go on, but I do agree dungeons could use slight improvement, but to say they have cheap mechanics and hair-pulling difficulty is way exaggerated.

I’ve been gaming since the early 90’s, I’ve played over 20 MMOs. The dungeons in GW2 are too hard for such little reward. Everyone I know has basically stopped playing that for that very reason.
Are there any plans to revamp, or take a look at the dungeons?
I would argue some (AC, the golem-boss in SE) are too hard, but they are very rewarding.
Not rewarding in the “ZOMG, full set of epix, shinies, awesome, loregasm”-sense, but rewarding in the “kitten YEAH, we did it!”-sense. They pull that off extremely well.
You really feel that the “woah we did it!” feeling will make people play through that dungeon 50+ times for the dungeon skins?
Everyone I know has quit, or went to PVP. Majority would agree that dungeons are not fun as they stand, and are extremely unrewarding.
I was afraid of the cosmetic dungeon grind ever since they announced that’s where they were going with the end game. Many people do not like cosmetic grinds, usually only GW1 players want that. I got 50/50 and GWAMM in GW1, however I still prefer gear with stat upgrades AND good cosmetics when I complete hard dungeon.
Cosmetics by themselves are not enough to make me do a hard/fustrating dungeon 50+ times. I avoided the “elite” areas in GW1 because of this reason, as did many. It’s a pretty much universal feeling in my guild, every day less people sign on. After 100% map completion, the progression vanishes and there is no rewarding endgame.
And on the contrary, none of my many friends have quit and today they complain that I don’t do dungeons with them.
I do have a friend who absolutely dreads dungeons though, but probably only due the 3 hours it took us to do Sorrow’s Embrace.
