Thank you, I think I may have just imagined a video now… That’s definitely the right article.
Does anyone know where to find the video where they talked about how they made the Rytlock Figurine? Anet migrated blogs from their official site to the Guildwars2 one we have now, and it doesn’t seem that the video was uploaded anywhere. I guess it’s not that important, but I wanted to show a friend who just won one in a charity auction.
How about multiplying the exp gained from each mob by 100. People will quickly get the masteries complete and can join everyone else in the game.
Did the defending and building up camps thing, took the chopper up to the canopy to find a champion that one shot me, not very fun. Tried 3 different choppers/canopies and same thing, this stuff needs to downscale if enough players aren’t around.
The Champs at the Canopy aren’t something that shouldn be doable by just one Person. 5 Persons are enough for most of the Champs.
I don’t mind that the canopy has champions, but having a hero point up there needed for map completion or hero points is terrible design.
Mastery Feedback, Why did it have to be EXP?

If you hadn’t said that you weren’t a native English speaker I would have never known.
Your idea of changing the current masteries to collections/achievements would make the progression fun instead of what’s currently mind-numbingly dull. I initially thought that masteries would be unlocked primarily by doing the story like any Metroidvania or Zelda game, but it’s completely the opposite. I was also hoping that getting the elite specs would come from achievements or story, only having mastery points on the map, but it takes the same far too long system to get an individual elite spec. I also wouldn’t mind if map completion takes masteries, but requiring them to get hero points is really wrong.
I don’t enjoy waiting in queue to play, especially if I’m then locked into a match where someone leaves. Simply reducing the queue times to less than a minute/30 seconds would go great towards me actually joining games that aren’t hotjoin. I fully support adding solo queue or up to duo queue which would also improve more structured games; no one wants to join a team of other solo queuers against a coordinated guild team.
More regular meaningful balance patches (Major issue)
Leaving a heavily unbalanced D/D ele meta in place for several months leaves pvp very stale, and many other balance issues continue to plague the game. If they’re trying to be a bit more like Dota styled games in their pvp they should do frequent balance patches like those games do. Spinning bird kicks aside, how boring would a game like Street Fighter be if Chun Li was hands down the best fighter for the majority of the series?
This is one of those QoL/visual improvement changes that should happen, especially with all the new effects that they are working on for the expansion. Though they probably already have some art assets they could use for the effects, like the particles from blink or staff 2.

Still not enough for me to justify a purchase, it needs to be ten USD cheaper and change the character slot to 800 gems. I don’t need another character slot so this has done nothing to change my mind.
What content they have shown doesn’t add up to be a fifty dollar value, we still don’t have a release date, and they have’t shown much of what’s even in the expansion.

-Make Seif your ranger (you already have a heavy armor human character)
-Charr revenant (you need another charr!)
-Sylvari elementalist (sylvari can be quite colorful adding to the effects of the elementalist)
-Asuran necromancer (you can make a very wicked looking asura to match the necro)
My choices are based on personal preference for the races appearances in the armor types. Another suggestion is to make the new characters the opposite gender to the ones you already have.

I was personally expecting thirty/thirty-five USD for the expansion and a character slot. I won’t buy the expansion until it’s proven to be worth the full fifty or if they lower the price. I would consider buying it off of what’s been revealed if the price is changed to thirty USD, or if it’s changed to forty USD and included 800 gems (equivalent to a character slot).
For the expansion to be worth the full fifty I expect a release date within a month, a massive information dump for all of the things they have yet to show, and enough content to justify the price (I felt that Eye of the North was an acceptable content to price ratio).
It’s unsettling to me that there hasn’t been an official response to this massive thread other than the “yes it’s fifty for the expansion alone” reply.

I agree with what you say. The content shown to us so far is not worth any more than $30 to me, if even that. I do not condone a fifty dollar expansion, let alone a fifty dollar expansion with little shown, no release date, and they don’t even include a character slot for the new profession. I’ll gladly spend my money elsewhere (GOG/Steam sales) and wait until the price drops, if i’m still interested by then.
I would really appreciate an actual content update to wvw, there hasn’t been a revamp of existing content let alone new stuff in such a long time, if ever.
Adding new content to wvw would be a good first step in bringing people back into it, or into it for the first time. Designing a new reward system of sorts to put it on par with even PvE would also really help to improve the current state of things. Giving personal rewards for defending objectives would be a huge step in the right direction.
They could also do with adding base “builds” and teaching the difference between the roles within PvP. Even if it’s just a link to metabattle or “here are commonly used builds by this profession”. If someone was new to sPvP and they went into a match with the starting build, they would be completely confused with having a build that wasn’t of their own make in PvE.
Me and my friend break the Black Citadel, you can get to Haunted Nolani from here.
I know that they are limiting it to lv 22 players and up, but that’s still simply not enough to ween out those who don’t know anything about pvp. We need a one time forced tutorial like this to everyone just starting pvp.
An explanation of builds and such would also be very nice.
Similar situation with SF-DR-DH matchup, I’m getting 320ms ping. I live in Ohio, so I don’t think I should be getting ping levels like Australia. I’m guessing it has something to do with the update tomorrow?
Colin Johanson to Eurogamer: “Everyone, including casual gamers, by level 80 should have the best statistical loot in the game."
…That’s not even close to how it works now, or even since launch. This would make the game way more fun for an altiholic/build maker like me.
I thought already fixed the FOV changes.
As mentioned, that was just a Vertical FoV increase not a horizontal one.
I was suffering from some slight nausea/headaches when playing before the old fov patch, but it was just a minor case for me. I’m all in favor of getting a horizontal slider to help people still affected.
For stating the obvious ? Anet stated that using any tool that gives an advantage over other players is a bannable offense.Since you never played wvw by the looks of it and have absolutely no clue that this is giving people a Huge advantage over other people with the normal fov and basically screwing up wvw for what it is.There are Loads of people using this type of stuff, and it is considerd to be a Hack.
By all means, send anet an mail with the link to the program you used ( Wich is only available on Hacking/exploits sites with the warning that you might end up getting banned ) ,and see if anet gives you the “ok” to keep on using this type of stuff.
I guess my 3 monitor eyefinity display which GW 2 supports and automatically increases the FoV is a bannable offense.

Yeah, I usually get around 45-60+ fps in any area that isn’t a wvw zerg, and it’s going down to 20 fps in pve. Changing the graphics settings doesn’t do much of anything.
I7-3770K
16GB RAM
AMD 7970 3GB Vram
SSD
Using GPU-Z and Task Manager I found that GW2 isn’t using but 30-45% of my GPU and 50% of my CPU is still sitting at idle.
If you’d like there are free 50 slot mumble servers available here: http://cleanvoice.ru/free/mumble/en.html. You have to click on the battery at least once every 30 days to show you’re actively using the server, though I’ve not heard a better sounding voice chat program than mumble.
I bought one character slot for 800 gems and I got two character slots, I’m fairly sure this is a bug and not intentional to get 2 slots for one? Is there something I should/could do?
