I’d settle for a rabbit walking through my curtain not putting me in combat.
The easiest thing to do would make wvw portal interaction take precedence over anything else in the area if a player doesn’t have something targeted. Target the merchant, or sanctum model, or tradeskill station and you can then interact with it normally.
The fact is, it’s a griefing opportunity that shouldn’t exist. One person should not be able to potentially ruin the night of every other person looking to use that portal. This makes the portals completely unusable for as long as they choose to continue.
People love to grief others on reset night by dropping BL merchants and tradeskill stations. Please stop allowing people to place these items within interaction range of the portals in LA.
I’d like to see the iMage changes to something that would be useful during wvw sieges. Maybe he nullifies/reduces siege damage in a small radius for up to five people? Maybe you can place him up on a wall like an AE field and he randomly teleports/polymorphs people every couple seconds like a skritt burglar?
Honestly, one thing I’d like to see is either the staff or scepter auto attack moved to an instant hit. The result of the combination of being one of the slowest classes in the game and having two of our 3 ranged weapons also having super slow projectiles is that I feel compelled to run greatsword just to guarantee that I can get tags in wvw or pve zergs before things die. Combine that with the fact that our only on-demand swiftness is from the focus, and I don’t feel like I have a lot of options of what weapon loadouts to run in these situations.
I wish they’d at least talk to us about movement speed. I mean, our only on demand swiftness puts us in combat if anything happens to stumble through the curtain. The continued silence is really frustrating. Open a dialogue and let us know their side of things, at least.
Has anyone felt like their confusion damage is lower versus the toxic alliance sylvari? I’m wondering if the 50% reduction is kicking in due to the inclusion of the downed mechanic.
I’ve spent some time thinking about aspects of various skills that could be adjusted to be a little more player friendly. What would you put on the list?
My current top two:
I’d like Illusionary Wave to not autoface you toward your target. I’d prefer to just have it fire in the direction you’re facing. It makes it more useful for crowd control.
I’d like Feedback to not enable autoattack when used. I use it frequently when travelling when I know I’m not going to be able to avoid aggroing a ranged enemy.
Occasionally, the website forces me to enter my account into just to view the forums. Is this a traffic controlling measure, or some kind of website bug?
The game should absolutely have parity between classes when it comes to out of combat movement speed. The way it is now is basically the equivalent of giving a tank class in another MMO access to only the slowest mount speed because they’re the least likely to die if they get dismounted.
Like usual, I budgeted $10 in gems for this event. Since there were no items on the store for a straight up purchase, I bought 10 boxes. Got one ticket, so I’m pleased.
Is watching the firework show tied to the overall meta for the event? Being on vacation for the weekend preventing me from completing the entire meta would be disappointing.
Just wanted that visible for people that were like me scratching their head why mines would rare ever turn green. I ended up beating Canach with confusion, but now I could go back and not rely on it.
If you have smart casting on, mouseover the mine!
Awesome, I missed that completely.
I’m loving the chiptunes tracks and would love to have downloadable versions of them.
I also wrote about this here. It’s really strange, and seems to slow you down again if you pick something up.
Twice now, I’ve been hit with a really strange run speed issue. The first time was in the Colossus fractal during the arm seal encounter. My character permanently ran like they were crippled, both in and out of combat. It didn’t disappear until my character was downed.
It happened again today during the Rata Sum Infinirarium dungeon. It’s too random for me to find out what the actual cause is. I’m an asura mesmer running greatsword and scepter/focus.
It seems rather shortsighted that getting a ring with an offensive infusion slot requires someone to fork over 225 relics, while a defensive ring only needs 75. There’s zero stat difference. Why isn’t there 1 of each of the basic 75 shard infusions?
YB gave my guild one of the best moments we’ve had in WvW. We were attempting to take Cliffside when the YB defenders sent a mesmer to portal bomb our catapults. The exit portal was right next to the edge of the cliff, and we pushed nearly the entire bomb off of it.
The issue is supply and availability, not price. Moldy bags are the only source of them, and they’re rare enough that most people would be lucky to see more than 1 or 2 the entire time they’ve been 80. Bloods are pricey, but they drop much more frequently by comparison AND they can be created in the forge from T5 bloods. There often aren’t enough eyes on the global market for a single player to buy all that he needs for an Immobulus. Items like this either need their rarity decreased or a secondary source of creation via the forge added.
Since you brought up price, eyes are selling a 3x the rate of bloods as it is. Lidless Eye is about 75g in materials the craft. Immobulus is over 200g.

I guess the biggest issue, for me, is that the items that were my medium-term goals because they fit thematically with my character have been forced into being long term goals (or potentially outright unreasonable goals) instead due to market instability and supply shortages.
There are nights when my income rate is at such a level that I make zero quantifiable progress because the supply chain is limited enough to make it extremely vulnerable to speculators.
The immediate problem is that a lot of items that were formerly appropriate “mid tier” goals, like Immobulus, The Anomaly, etc. have all been forced out of that category in the last few weeks. Immobulus was at one point about 60g in materials. Now it’s over 250g. Anomaly used to cost about 30g and will likely be over 100g shortly unless the Ecto market stalls.
I’ve already purchased the cultural T3 that I want. What else can I do now? My buying power is dropping daily. The only item I currently have to work toward is the fractal capacitor backpiece because it’s achieved from a fixed currency.
Giant Eyes have been a thorn in my side ever since I decided that I would eventually work toward Immobulus. Recently, their supply has been dwindling severely, while their price spikes to match.
Looking at the trend, there seem to be a few factors. The only really reliable place to get Giant Eyes has been Arah, and standard dungeon use seems to be down across the board with the release of the FotM dungeon. The former bot trains likely also had an impact on the overall supply levels.
I’m also not sure the drop rate is in line with a recipe requiring 250 of them. The other items that take them, Melandru’s Gaze and the Lidless Eye, require 1 and 10 respectively. It would make a lot more sense for the Immobulus recipe to require 25 or 50 of the eyes by comparison. As of right now, there aren’t even enough eyes on the tradepost for 1 person to make one.
His heal can be interrupted. His bombs can be reflected. At least on the lower difficulties, you don’t need to kit him between buckets at all.
It just means I’ll be carrying a hell of a lot more arrow cart and ballista plans on me going forward.
I run a pretty powerful machine. Typically, the game will run between 40 and 60fps depending on what’s going on. The only time I ever see a performance issue in this game is when I zone out of Divinity’s Reach into Queensdale. The game drops down into the single digits for fps and will remain that way until I restart the client. It’s not Queensdale itself, because the game is back to normal once I restart.
I’ve never seen this occur at any other point in the game, but it happens nearly every time I go out from the city.
Every other type of Risen has a very obvious origin (i.e. chickens, bulls, gorillas). Even things like the Eyes visually make sense once you know from the story what their source was.
So, where do the claws come from? Are they just an amalgamation of corpses, or was there some specific creature that there were a part of?
I wish:

Mind Stab acted as a blast finisher

I honestly don’t see the harm in making vendor-purchased, soulbind on acquire items have a sellback value the same as their purchase value. As long as the item hasn’t been transmuted onto something else, you should be able to just return it at face value.
Honestly? I’d just let non-modified cultural gear be sold back at the purchase price regardless of timeframe. If it was reskinned, you’re out of luck.
The way this item handles dye is bizarre. The glowing portions of the arm get their color from the primary tint of the collar, but the item applies an extra tint to the dye on top of that. This can result in some very bizarre color combinations, many of which are not complementary.
For an item that costs 30g, it could use some more flexibility. It’s a lot easier to dye the T1 asura armor than T3.
Now that I’ve had a chance to sleep on it, I’ve sort of come to terms with it. Throwing a bunch of random rares I had been hoarding into the forge and getting a couple of exotics back helped soothe the burn a little.
I just wish there could be some kind of official response as to why they decided it was worthwhile to launch with a “Sorry buddy, you’re effed” policy when it comes to items. If it’s just some ploy to drive people to buy gems out of panic to replace lost funds, it doesn’t leave a good feeling.
I had never realized that I could bank money as well. I’ll be kitten sure to do that going forward.
I’ve never been the type of person to earn money easily in an MMO. The decision to therefore save for the T3 asura light cultural chest was one I didn’t make lightly.
Saving what I can, I finally got myself into a position tonight where I had 28g in my inventory and a couple gold worth of exotics on the tradepost. Knowing that I would be able to buy my coat tomorrow if they sold, I ran over to Rata Sum and started previewing the other items to decide what else I would save for and what I would skip. Since I like all the asura armor, I went to go preview some of the other sets as well.
Unfortunately, the preview/purchase issue hit me, so now I’m stuck with some medium gloves that are absolutely useless to my mesmer, and that I cannot transfer to an alt (if I were to make one) because they’re soulbound, not account bound. I wasn’t even being hasty. One right click, one left right exactly in the middle of the preview button.
Is my only choice really to sell them back for 1.5g? They’re a bind on acquire item. It’s really depressing that I can’t just sell them back to the vendor at cost.
Incident: 121020-000528 (for what good that will do)
Many models on asura are hidden by our bodies or clothing. Being able to toggle between idle and combat stance would be beneficial.
I think one of the bigger problems with attacking objects is that they don’t trigger attack bounces. Greatsword 2 will only hit once, for example. I tend to just plant a warden next to an object and go back to hitting the boss.
I find us to be pretty terrible against objects, but mobs are generally fine.
Does anyone have the Savant coat? (Possible bug with T3 Light Cultural)

Thanks. Kind of relieving to know I can forego some of the gold costs on this set.

I was previewing separate pieces of the Savant set again last night trying to plan out the order I was going to purchase the pieces. I noticed that the coat integrates the model for the pauldrons by default, even though the pauldrons have their own model when viewed separately.
Can anyone with the coat confirm that they show up when the coat is actually worn, whether or not you have the actual pauldron item equipped? It would also be nice if ANet could confirm if this is intentional.
My wife just ran the entire night on the beta drivers without a single crash. One night isn’t enough to say her problem is fixed, but I’m optimistic.
I’ve now had one person confirm that the beta drivers fixed their issue. I’m hoping to test them tonight and see what happens.
I haven’t seen any solutions to the issue yet, unfortunately.
His CPU isn’t falling short. The laptop uses an i7 quad core.
My wife has the same laptop, and the game will frequently reboot her machine as well. You’re not alone having issues with GW2 with this model of laptop. There have been other posts on this forum as well with other people having the same issue. The laptop actually employs a very efficient cooling system, and temp checks have been run that put it well within the acceptable range for the components.
I haven’t seen anyone come to any form of resolution yet that has this model, and I also haven’t seen any kind of official response from ANet.
