I don’t know if anyone else has an issue with this or if it has been mentioned before but I think the enemy healthbar on top is too big. Now you wouldn’t notice this on PvE (except dungeons maybe) but in PvP you often get in a situation where the camera is directed diagonally to the ground and you have the player in front at the edge of the screen and you can’t place a field because his healthbar is there (and you lose :P). So I was wandering if there could be done something like the “Simple Party UI” where you only have the healthbar, the conditions and the boons rather than having the whole picture of the enemy player.
WvW:
1. Balance
2. WvW Gameplay, Mechanics and Features
3. Insane CPU requirements and lag in big fights.
A big thanks to the devs. We all know that you have a tight schedule and not unlimited resources and we thank you very much. We are super excited. Also make an ANet guild and lets have some GvG fun…
The problem with any fixes, is getting ANET to believe that anything is really broken.
Exactly… It just doesn’t feel that the game supports you in WvW. It feels like only we the players put effort to make our WvW time better. In my opinion though WvW needs expansion type refinement, not just patches.
This 5%-10% of their playing time is a huge deal for them. As I said we want to have fun as each of us defines it.
“most servers wvw communities have disbanded”?
Where did you see this?
And actually [FIRE] from Aurora Glade did disband… And obviously you’ve never played seriously team sports before that’s why you don’t understand that when you play team sports you create bonds.

The problem isn’t only for what the dev said, the problem is the timing that this was said. Roughly after a week where some of the most well-known, well-respected guilds(battlemates), that had contributed the most in the servers WvW community had disbanded due to the bloodlust update. Yes this did hurt our feelings. Also MMOs aren’t really that different from real sports. It’s like playing football or basketball. Team play. Now if fifa went out and suddenly changed the rules of the game and as a result your teammates were leaving anyone would get hurt. On the other hand some of us only play for 2-3 hours a day, usually at nights because we don’t have the time. So when we play we want to have fun. Fun as each of us defines it…
People that are mad about their servers guild GvG’ing should actually try joining such a guild. I’m pretty sure they will see WvW with different eyes afterwards. Also for the devs, you should make a dev guild that consists only from developers and anet employees, sit in a server and start playing in WvW. Likewise I’m pretty sure that you will see with different eyes WvW afterwards. Furthermore if you didn’t have holidays in summer, please forget for any updates for a month and GO HOLIDAYS…
It’s been two weeks now so it would be great if we had some real statistics about bloodlust actually contributing to the further unbalancing of the server matches.
This week the match is abaddon’s mouth-aurora glade-far shiverpeaks. Most of the time AM(200,000) and AG(130,000) has the buff. FS(90,000) only has it sometimes at evening or night. What we see here is that the 1st and 2nd server can fight each other, but the 3rd doesn’t have a chance. Which means that the 3rd server will probably need a buff in order to have a chance to fight back. (and please don’t wait for people to leave their server, or you’ll lose the game)
I really want to know what Anet wants to do with WvW. How do they picture it in their heads? Whats the plan here? For example why should there even be a buff?
The problem here is that there needs to be something strong enough to drive players to capture the ruins (the ruins to become significant) and not make the stronger WvW servers even stronger.
For example we in Aurora Glade played against Vizunah and Kodash this week. This means that most of the time we won’t be having a buff and that either Vizunah or Kodash has buffs. We can easily see that Aurora Glade is handicapped.
Now what you need here is balance. Since the matching servers aren’t balanced you must make the buffs balanced. For example when a server doesn’t have a buff at all they could be given a stat buff themselves or a buff that can nullify their buffs. And be given another reason to make them want to take back the ruins. (increased chance for an ascended for example. :P)
An equal buff in an unequal match doesn’t make sense.
lol… btw you do remember that the 300 had unparalleled organization and training. Also the thermopylae was a superior tactical position for defence. A choke-point. It’s what we actually also do. The only difference is that persians couldn’t actually run through them like in the game. (Actually I want to confirm this, if everyone in the defence has the “Melee Attack Assist” on, will the enemy be able to pass through them?). Also i agree with this opinion too. As the match ups are right now, the losing side must have a serious buff on them because its getting boring otherwise.

Sorry about that I wrote it and then when I saw your edit I edited myself and it got complicated.
Yeah but isn’t this a little inconvenient? When you are fighting as a commander you may not have the time to open the map. I think it would be much easier to just press a button in order to retreat.

I was thinking if it is a good idea to have some buttons in the commander UI with which he can shout things like “Attack”, “Fall Back”, “Regroup” and things like that in the midst of the battle. And maybe for the squad members to have a message brought in their screen when he shouts, kind like the “New Event” message is shown, in order to get notified that the squad is retreating, for example.
Or maybe the commander to have tactics that can be followed and may give bonuses for the squad, depending on the tactic issued.
I know that you don’t like to cram the UI with too much things, but I think that actions like that will allow for commanders to be compensated for the money they spend to become commanders, make them a much more crucial pawn in a battle, give more variety and strategies in the way the WvW is played with more tactics and have a more organized WvW in general.
I know that this is pretty minor but I think it is good to know about it (as I know you strive for perfection :-) ). The footprints of charr on snow are backwards. Also when you are moving on four legs you only get two footprints.
Thats all.
