There should really be a pause feature for big tournaments like this – 5:35 in our game 3 the score was 207-141 Mime had a portal to mid and he disconnected – giving them the free cap in a game I think we would have won – we just called the game after he d/c
He also disconnected the first game when the score was 220-140 causing us to lose the mid fight giving them a 2 cap. That was only a 70 point game in the end. I’m not blaming him, its just frustrating because I know they would have been different games otherwise.
I wonder how many precursors Anet will have to give away to get people to watch WTS quals after these two boring finals. lol

I honestly think its just that videogames are played mostly by teenagers, who don’t know how to separate “fun” trash talk with straight up BM and insults. Not saying that all of them are like that though. Obviously the anonymity of the internet, frustration from lack of updates / Dev support, and sense of entitlement from thinking that being good at a videogame with a competitive playerbase as small as my neighborhood actually means something (it doesn’t) aaand we slowly get a toxic community

- New “Call of the Mists” Buff during major tournaments:
- Grants players 10% increased PvP rank point gain, +15% reward track progress, and an extra 100% magic find while inside PvP maps.
- Will first be activated during the ToG finals (Oct 11-12) and then again during the WTS NA/EU Qualifiers (Oct 25-26)

What i’ve noticed about the “top tier” gaming community is that most people will only like you so long as you perform well. I mean look at some of the “top” players we have. Downright toxic, rude children who irl should be kittenslapped, but people will enjoy playing with them because they are good players. I’m like you in that I would rather play with people who act mature and want to have fun.
Anyway, no one hates you, you’re one of the nicer people in the community, and you’re not a bad player. Personally I think you could improve with staying alive, but you play what is imo the hardest, and least forgiving build in the meta. So from one thief to another, don’t be so h a r d (why is this censored? lol) on yourself. _ Just have fun_ and stop giving a kitten about what people think

These sign ups are way too soon for being first come first serve, ToL 2 isn’t even done yet. Sign ups should be AFTER the balance patch and AFTER the ToL 2. I think there will be a major shifting of teams and you are basically forcing us to scramble to make up a team or risk being locked out of it due to the way sign ups are being held.
Destiny releases the same day of the feature pack for GW2. Pretty sure they released last feature pack the same time as another MMO release. So basically we have to wait for a big title to release before we see any new features added in-game? Kappa
I want to hear what they have to say about Skyhammer and why they are basically ignoring the issue. We have a thread with over a thousand posts and not a single dev response.
S/d change really isn’t a big deal at all to people who know what they’re doing. Thieves would still be able to spam flanking strike 4 times in a row, and in some cases that can be a buff (evade tanking a point for reinforcements, running away). In 1v1 scenarios assuming you play perfectly and dodge every flanking strike 4 Flanking strikes is more than you have dodges (2-3 max), and s/d acro is more about whittling you down not 1 big burst such as d/p backstab. Assuming there are no other changes to thieves sigils or runes they will still fill their role very well (auto attacks still do decent dmg and can proc air/fire). I have a feeling they will adjust the damage to fire/air sigils though, that would be a real nerf to acro thief.
I’m looking forward to the announcement and details about it. Hopefully it’s not too long of a wait but i’m just glad something is finally being developed because it is very much needed.

Now… i’ve been playing NA team q for a little over a year now (I didn’t start at release, which I believe phantaram did) and I have over 2k games played in team q and 2500+ including solo arena on my NA account. I think i’ve come across Phantaram here on NA maybe 3-4 times that I can remember here. Correct me if i’m wrong, but I don’t remember ever seeing him on any team in the Mistpedia weekly or ToL for NA either. So… I just don’t understand why he is on the NA side when imo he should have been on the EU voting list. I would have liked someone I see actually playing in NA get the spot. I want someone to actually represent NA, and someone who shows dedication to playing on our side of the fence. I guess that’s what happens when EU is allowed to vote for NA as well.

I main thief and I would like to see the vigor obtained from acrobatics lowered, or steal nerfed to an extent. The meta build is too easy to play, and its much harder to separate good thieves from bad ones. I want to play a build that is useful to my team and not just dodge roll and 3 spam. It makes me sad when I am pretty much forced to play it when I want to win because of how broken it is.
I’ve always loved CTF, one of my favorite game modes if done right. There would definitely need to be a new map made for it though, and a lot of thought would need to be done about what skills to lock/give to the flag carrier, possible a movement debuff as well. It’s anet though so i’m not gonna hold my breath. I’ll be playing CS:go if i want stuff like that /shrug
Yes, bunker comps are annoying to deal with but a 2v2 bunker comp is much easier to break than a 5v5 bunker comp when you are forced to fight on a point. Ive been playing and watching the 2v2 for awhile and the winning comps never seem to be the same. Sure there are some comps which are really hard to deal with such as double celestial comps (ele + rifle engi), but honestly this game needs something new and interesting to keep it going and I think the positives really outweigh the negative.
Also I don’t really think kiting all match would be a problem but I could see there being people who would try to do things like that or just run perma stealth d/p thief. I think at that point there should just be a time limit or something to prevent it + maybe an adjustment for this 2v2 to make it so you get a forced revealed buff if you are in stealth for over 15-20 seconds or something. Just make something happen anet, any new game mode at this point i dont care!

Give us a 2v2 deathmatch gamemode on courtyard, with leaderboards. I see no reason NOT to do this, and it seems easy enough to implement without much effort. Balance wise, it seems fine for now based on the mistpedia 2v2 weeklies so WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR
It would go something like…play until both members are fully downed, best of 3 rounds, or play till one side wins 3 rounds.

I don’t really understand the purpose of this tourney, it won’t bring players back, and it isn’t going to keep players interested in playing. The only thing you are doing is giving a few lucky players a free vacation to germany while the game remains to be boring to watch, and just frustrating to play for many. No new game modes, terrible balance, various issues with soloq and leaderboards…the list is so long, but you are giving us something very little of us care about. Stop it with the esports attempts Anet you don’t deserve it, and frankly I find it insulting when you can’t even communicate with us on the forums. Show the pvp community you actually care about us and start implementing the endless feedback and suggestions you’ve been given to improve GW2 PvP.

Balance updates more than 1-2 a year? (such a joke really)
New features, weapons, maps (not skyhammer)
I can’t wait to see how the players are going to be chosen for this as well. How are “all stars” going to be chosen when the competitive community is so ridiculously small…
I agree with most of what you said, the announcement of a tourny at gamescon is an absolute joke. I can barely have fun playing it anymore let alone watching bunker wars 2. I have absolutely no idea what they’re trying to do because I can guarantee you that unless they do something totally unexpected it will be a huge failure. GW2 already has the lowest twitch viewership out of any game i’ve played. Runescape has 10x+ the viewers GW2 gets haha. No one wants to watch this kittenty game when anet puts hardly any effort into pvp and barely listens to their playerbase…
Yea i’m slowly losing more incentive to play each day and I am ever so slowly creeping towards a new game. Suggestions that might make me want to invest more time into pvp and keep me from quitting?

Incentives – Real Rewards exclusive to pvp that arn’t on tracks and reward player skill (titles skins)
- 2v2 3v3 Arenas -with their own leaderboards and rewards.
- New game modes CTF, deathmath etc, lots of possitibilies (community can help you guys here)
- A reason/incentive to create a team and play with them consistently. Right now the only real team that ques seriously and practices every week with their full roster on NA is good fights and probably TCG and 55 HP monks for EU
Give us a reason to play with our teammates and continue to improve as a team. Right now mostly everyone just creates pug groups or super pug groups and there is just no team vs. team competition in team q arena.
Tournament of Legends was perfect for this, as there were hundreds of teams that signed up. However, after that they had no reason to continue, give them a reason or host Tournament of Legends more frequently (2x a month?). I don’t really consider the weekly Mispedia or ESL tourneys as enough of an incentive.
I could go on, but I feel like I waste my time here. If a dev posts i’ll consider expanding this list.

Playing with friends, I also still have hope that Arenanet will improve pvp in the future as you see small glimmers of hope every now and then like the feature patch and the tournament of legends. I also sort of get attached to the games I play, but every patch Anet ignores us pvpers I find myself playing less and less (and having less fun to boot). This is also the only MMO where I like the PvP combat system, even if it isn’t balanced. I just can’t get back into games like Call of Duty or League of Legends anymore, and Wildstar…I played that game for literally 30 seconds before I said “nope”. Not that many multiplayer games appeal to me.
The fact that there’s no subscription fee helps too.
The pvp content they pumped out in the last 2 years (skyhammer? lawlz) really has me questioning their ability to make solid content or even ATTEMPTING to fix it after its released. Want the remaining playerbase to quit forever? Add a subscription fee to pvp!
Are the chests from reward tracks still being affected by magic find? I was told by a friend that it currently is not working as intended and A-Net will be fixing it for next patch.
Also:
Some clarifications on how the magic find system works in regards to our reward tracks boxes would be nice.
For example:
- Are the champion bags affected from the veteran + champion boxes or only the “loot” boxes that we get ( ex. Ooze Loot box vs. Champion or Veteran Hylek Box which has champion bags as well as loot)
Would like to know as I will be getting my birthday booster soon and will have 250%+ magic find to use all my unopened boxes. :p
If this has been answered in another thread somewhere please let me know! I could not find this information anywhere however.

I understand there was a considerable amount of time put into this map. But this is something that is really frustrating to many dedicated pvp’ers. I feel like the map has potential but in its current state needs to be removed until it is reworked in some way to reduce the builds that favors heavy knockbacks and pulls into the pit of death.
After the bug fix to black powder + whirling axe combo, I don’t see this being nearly as OP as it is now. In its current state though it’s totally broken haha
Edit: I also wanna say that, if the duration of the stolen abilities are reduced by half I think that would be a good start for evening things out between classes as caed mentioned. Four sec daze , 12 second chill, 10 sec of all boons, 10 second water field is just too much for a 20 second cooldown on steal.

Not enough people playing tourneys means there is a small pool to choose from, pvp population is small, especially at higher tier

Congrats on coming out fighting this week and your hard fought battle for 4th place versus TC. Although you lost in the end for the top 3 spot and TC has taken your place as a T1 server, you showed a tremendous amount of courage and heart. Your ability to rebuild ac’s is still unsurpassed in gw2 history. How you rebuild siege so fast,do nothing but defend structures, and are still out there “caring just about the fights” is a testament to your skill and fortitude as a server. I think this ability is truly the cornerstone of what brought you up to T1 on that long glorious road. I hope you can rebuild in T2 and BG/JQ I’m sure look forward to giving you a grand exit next week in our last match.

You are naive if you think TC qualifies as tier 1…tier 1.5 at best, unless TC suddenly got some crazy transfers that I don’t know about, I would still put my bet on SoR beating TC any other week without JQ or BG in the matchup, even without IRON. Your post is brave…the sarcastic tone is in poor taste as well. Making a post like that makes your guild look trashy, but…that isn’t saying much no one I know ever really considered/considers SG a threat, at least in open field fights. I don’t understand the remarks toward SoR, it should be in everyone interest to keep SoR, or any other server, alive and healthy for the sake of competition. Poking fun at them is just pathetic, especially coming from JQ… 2nd place to BG and still talking kitten. lol

I ran because I only had 5 to 6 guild members on my tag the rest militia. I consider Choo really good and with what I had on my tag I couldn’t fight you. I couldn’t get a lot of my guys on the map last night because we had multiple guilds on the map. KnT & ZN had more than me on the map so I relied on them to fight you. I could tell by the way you guys were lurking you were looking for a fight and I tried to give you one a bunch of times.
I think he was talking about the entire BG BL since reset. It’s been rather stale in open field. The only big “are we gonna make it” fights happen in your T3 keeps we’re breaking into. Which are very fun fights, don’t get me wrong, but after that it gets rather boring due to tower/keep turtles and waypointing out instead of turning to fight.
Not directly pointing the finger at ONS. We could tell that KNT and ZN had more numbers than ONS last night.
I understand how that could get boring. Still though, if I’m running from a battle there’s generally a very good reason because I rather fight 90% of the time.
I assure you, OnS loves their fights. Me personally, it is the only reason I play WvW as the ppt game gets old, even during leagues. BG BL has been very militia heavy on our side the past week and a half, and it has been frustrating at times to say the least. Respect to Choo for coming out and fighting hard despite the score, we definitely notice you guys out every night. As Malevolent said, we never more than maybe 10 OnS and always 2-3 of them were scouting Towers/Garri etc. We did out best to give you some fights last night as it was apparent when you guys were running circles outside our garrison and we regrouped with KnT and ZN + any militia we had and gave you a fight.
Hopefully you understand why we port out now when you catch one of us open field with only maybe 10-12 and we port out to a 35-40 strong Choo army, I think you would do the same. We and hope to give you guys some great fights in the future.
Thank you for the fights on BGBL: Choo, TW, GSCH, IRON, Agg & any others I missed. Good to see you guys putting up a good fight.
