Faction/race based PvP will never be a thing, it goes against the philosophy of the game. Not to mention we’ve had quite a few evil/not-good characters, Scarlet, Aerin, Phlunt, Caudecus, the various race-specific enemy factions such as the Flame Legion, White Mantle, Sons of Svanir, Nightmare Court and the Inquest…

Tested it like 5 minutes. Its a condi centric line in a power based and THEMED class, regarless of it being subpar or not, its not worth my time.

There’s no such thing as a power “themed” profession in the game, just because you don’t like it doesn’t make your reasoning valid.

The one thing that still bothers me with the berserker is the adrenaline paradox in the spec, if I’m not in berserk mode then any adrenaline I can get my hands on is useful, making traits like furious very valuable, the rage skills also have a bit of adrenaline generation which feels nice, but as soon as I’m in berserk mode I have no idea what to do with the adrenaline, there simply is no way to spend it, there’s so much of it that is simply wasted and the bits I can use create weaker burst skills that also fill my adrenaline bar by themselves because of the furious trait, so I’m always at full adrenaline but can’t make use of it while in Berserk mode.

Hybrid Sword/Sword PvE build?

the torment on sword may not be all that useful for pve, but i do remember a build a while back using offhand axe and the #5 skill to apply stacks of bleed very quickly. basically a high crit-chance bleed build.

Ah, interesting. Would you need Sinister gear for that or would Rampager suffice?

Neither, use Rabid, that’s the best condition gear set for warriors from a pure condition damage perspective, with runes of the undead.

And so the problem is that you have content which might not be for me, like raids, and then you have items that are for me, like perhaps Raid Armor, and you can’t get at the latter without getting through the former. So there is an impasse.

There is no impasse, if you cannot master all areas of the game, you do not deserve everything in it, you are not entitled to legendary armor, no one is, if you can prove you have the skill to acquire it then you do, have you ever played any games besides GW2? This is an extremely basic and simple rule of game design, there is no argument to be had, different parts of the game grant different rewards and different skins, and no, you cannot earn all of the skins by only adhering to one portion of the game, because PvP, WvW and PvE and its different facets require different skills, if you master them all good for you, if you don’t, tough luck, the community has been asking for meaningful challenging and rewarding group content since the game came out, if the rewards can be obtained elsewhere, raids will no longer be meaningful, you’re literally the opposite of an elitist, extremes are never good.

TL;DR: Git gud.

Most mobs follow the armor and proximity rule, the higher your armor and the closer you are to them, the greater the chances are that they will chase you relentlessly, I play a rabid warrior and I have about 3600 armor, I know your pain, but it depends on the stat combo you’ll use for the revenant and the one you’re using for your guardian.

It’s just an oppinion, you don’t have to act like a kid about it…There are enough condi classes in the game, warrior doesn’t need to be one.
I rarely use GS, so no, I don’t get off to HB, but even if, it’s way better to get off to HB than a condi bomb…Or you like to be dirty and stack burns with ele? So fun…
You don’t have to agree with me, but don’t be a jerk about it !

Tell me what on earth is a “condi class” please? There’s no such thing, every profession has power and condition builds, warrior isn’t and shouldn’t be different, whether you like it or not is debatable, but irrelevant to the topic.

For me, the thing is that the ideea behind the spec is wrong. Trying to make warrior a condi class, when we know that warrior can’t condi or at least his condi is so kitten and other classes do it so much better that is worthless to even try to play a condi warrior. You can do it for fun if you like, shure, but it will never be a thing in warrior.
And it’s ok, warrior shouldn’t be a condi class and I think the majority of warrior players agree with me, and they wouldn’t like a condi warrior anyways!?!
What warrior should be it’s a power melee class, and what Berserker should be it’s that power taken to the limit. So much can be done with this class, with this ideea, that is really sad and questionable that Anet can’t make it work. The only reason that Bersek has a fire theme is the god kitten torch. But really the torch could just clean some condies and apply might and would be good, maybe 4 skill could knokdown. It’s doesn’t matter really, i wouldn’t mind if the new weapon is bad as long as the elite spec would be strong.
Please, go away from the fire theme, i don’t frinking want to be the opposite of Reaper, I think no1 does or care, we just want warrior to be good. Make Berserk what it should be, a fast, mad, raging, blood thirsting crazy mofo.
I think Rampage is more berserk than Berserker is, or sadly, will ever be. From there you should get inspired Anet, from Rampage, not from the kittenty torch, like wtf?
I wouldn’t mind if you take something from the old Frenzy, and we would take 25%-30% more dmg in Berserk if the spec would be what it should be, what the name says it should be, what everyone wants it to be.

Sorry what? Why should warrior not have a condi spec? How ridiculous, you must really get off to that Hunderp Blades.

The 1-sec cooldown on Primal Burst Skills after entering Berserk is really jarring, especially because some of the Primal Bursts have utility that warriors can’t get anywhere else, such as Flaming Flurry’s projectile block, and trying to protect yourself from incoming projectiles with a 1 second delay is not fun at all, Outrage is also very lackluster, especially compared to the Daredevil’s Bandit’s Defense, which can be traited to have a cooldown of 8 seconds, blocks and knocks down all while breaking stun, Outrage needs to do something else, perhaps remove a condition, but that would just make it a selfish “Shake it off!”. Aside from this, I think the berserker’s really satisfying and refreshing.

Also, am I the only one that thinks Anger Strike is terrible? Especially because we already get headbutt, I mean, I don’t really want 40 adrenaline, I think the berserker minors are very very underwhelming, there’s really nice stuff when it comes to the majors, but the minors are such a disappointment.

The sword is a condition weapon, some will tell you otherwise, but the sword really is a condition weapon, but doesn’t pair well with the shield, it pairs well with an off-hand sword with the blademaster trait, otherwise, you CAN make sword work in other builds, because of it’s mobility and the immobilize on flurry, but if you want it to be your main weapon you must go condi, either Sinister or Rabid.

Warriors in GW2 have always used magic, the typical Orrian citizen used magic (to a much higher degree since their proximity to the gods granted them immense magical power) for self-augmentation, fishermen would carry cargo that would break bulls for example, merchants would levitate their goods to put them on display, every single class in the game uses magic.

3.) Shoutbow being successful or not is of little importance to me, but we all know the reason why longbow is taken in PvP is Cleansing Ire, after it being relocated to grandmaster, it makes no sense to me that other weapons’ burst skills only cleanse if you hit.

Balsco.3682

Armour types are just a way to define how well a certain profession deals with direct damage, and you can’t examine it without looking at health pools first, Guardians wear heavy armour but have the lowest health pool, which means that without condition removal any sort of condition pressure will melt them but due to their armour and their access to protection they can handle direct damage very well, Necromancers on the other hand have a massive double health pool coupled with strong condition removal and wear light armour, meaning they can shrug off condition pressure fairly easily but are more vulnerable to direct damage.

TL;DR: Armour types are heavily associated with class strengths and weaknesses and therefore, balancing.

Balsco.3682

I fail to see how Taimi is a political symbol, she has a degenerative disease that affects her motor functions, but is still a capable individual worthy of respect and care, that’s all there is to it really, if you don’t like Taimi that’s fine, I understand that you feel bitter about having a disability and seeing a character with a disability that has a means to go around said disability, but understand that most people like Taimi not because she is a child with a disability, but because she is a funny character with very interesting underlying depth.

I think we don’t need a story about Braham and Eir, their relationship is not a parental one, Braham lived through his entire infancy and most of his teenage years without any contact with his mother, he doesn’t want to have any at this point most likely anyway, would you want to talk to a “Mother” you never had any sort of relationship with? Eir failed as a mother and she knows that aswell, I bet she’s also aware that their relationship is beyond saving and will never become a parental one.

Taimi, Jory and Kas and Offencive

in Living World

Posted by: Balsco.3682

Balsco.3682

Since when are we given the idea that Taimi needs pity? The only reason the other characters may seem protective of her in the first place is because she is 13 years old, not because she is disabled, where did you even get this idea from, to me it seems like you’re just trying to find a reason to be “offended”, Taimi is a character in her own right regardless of her disability and the other characters never treat her like she needs pity.

Your idea of feminism must be somewhat twisted, regardless, Braham doesn’t act the way he acts because he is a “feminist view on males”, it’s because he is a teenager and a Norn, and it’s canon that Norn aren’t as bright as humans on average, and also value action a lot, additionally, Braham is a guardian, so it makes sense that he would want to charge in to protect his friends instead of thinking up “intelligent strategies” when it’s obvious there are people better suited to do so in his group.

You thinking that characters are “characters” and that reality has no relevance or meaning is ridiculous, the reasons we as people can associate with characters is because to some extent we consider that they are people.

How do you expect Braham to gain wisdom from Eir really? Eir was by any human standards a horrible mother(maybe not by norn ones), and it’s even implied multiple times that Braham’s respect for her is not big, he doesn’t respect her as a mother, and why would he? She gave birth to him and left him.

Need Feminine Heavy Armour!

in Suggestions

Posted by: Balsco.3682

Balsco.3682

Realism is generally not an extremely important factor in an MMO, however, GW2 is realistic in a lot of ways, every single race in the game has a somewhat coherent explanation regarding how they operate biologically, Light Armour is meant to look cosmetic (because realistically, it offers no protection whatsoever), Medium Armour tends to look like it can protect you from the weather, and Heavy Armour is meant to look like your character’s vital organs are protected, but it tries not to look extremely impractical, you’re asking for high heels and other extremely impractical stuff.

I’m not saying it would look bad, but it would be absolutely ridiculous, how the hell do you expect someone to dodge roll with high heels? You’d never get back on your feet after dodging, or at least you’d be dead before you did.

It would also be pure fanservice, and ANET isn’t known for promoting that, just look at female Charr and Asura.

A Warrior's Right Skill Bar

in Warrior

Posted by: Balsco.3682

Balsco.3682

I’m sure I’m not the only one that noticed this, but it seems to me that the warrior’s utility skills, healing skills and even elite skills are a bit bad, they’re very plain and uninteresting, the best ones are signets and shouts while the other abilties suffer because:

Stances: generally very situational and no specific trait tree for them, also most of them can be replaced by other utilities, namely signets.

Banners: Clunky, not very strong, (FGJ gives more damage than banner of strength for example) and not very fun to use, also has the problem of repositioning and flag thieves.

Physical: Massive overlap with weapon skills, kick overlaps with rifle butt, throw bolas overlaps with pin down, bull’s charge overlaps with tremor and savage leap, and stomp overlaps with another utility skill, the shout «Fear Me!» also, the traits for these skills are deep in the strength tree, which doesn’t seem to fit much because these are control utilities and the strength trait line doesn’t seem like a control-oriented specialization.

Elites: Rampage is plain useless, and Battle Standard is very situational.

Healing skills: Healing Signet should be changed to something like thieves’s signet of malice in my opinion.

Being melee and it's implications.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Balsco.3682

Balsco.3682

This has to be looked at, especially in PvE, melee characters really get hurt, most boss fights in dungeons are about staying ranged unless you’re a Guardian and some even punish Guardians, this comes from a Warrior with toughness on every item, 20k HP and 3000 armor just for the sake of being able to survive melee and yet, I’m still forced to stay ranged because:

1. Kiting is so strong in PvE
2.Some bosses deal enormous damage but just get kited
3.Easier to dodge
4.Less damage from AoE

In short, PvE says go ranged.

The warrior should really have two ranged options, Rifle for single-target damage output, and longbow for AoE damage output, sadly though, the longbow is lacking and it’s basic attack deals the same direct damage as rifle’s…and doesn’t apply a bleed, that’s just an example of how underwhelming it is.

False, the greatsword is an AoE weapon, it’s abilities are all AoE except rush and the Gs deals more damage based on how many foes you face due to Forceful Greatsword’s stacking might based on hits.

Two-handed weapons generally are more AoE focused while one-handed ones have higher single-target power.

People don’t like playing monstrous characters generally speaking, which is why the two most played races are Human and Norn, there are twice as many humans as any other race, I guess people like identifying themselves with their characters, even physically, it’s got nothing to do with the black citadel since most people would just choose their race without even having visited the city previously when creating their first character.

Even in WoW, the two most played races were Humans and Blood Elves, ergo the most human-looking of all.

Hello community, this post is basically about the traits Berserker’s Power, Heightened Focus and Adrenal Health, while these traits are indeed strong, their purpose seems stupid, it’s like giving rangers the option to stow pets and making them stronger when they do it, they literally tell us not to use our class’s special ability, I believe it would make much more sense if these traits actually gave bonuses upon using burst skills, not the other way around.

Imagine if after a burst skill you gained..say…3 stacks of might, wouldn’t that make it a lot better besides just the damage, or if you regenerated 1k HP after a burst skill and this amount would scale on the adrenaline spent?

Just an idea I thought would be worth exploring.
