Anyone have a condition based WvW build? I have a engi i’d like to play but he has full ascended viper armor/weapons and then vitality toughness condi acessories etc
What I am saying is that with EVERY MMORPG in existence. You need to buy the expansion to stay relevant in every MMORPG there is. GW2 Is no different.
also dark souls isnt a mmorpg.
blade and soul lets you enter arena at level 15, but you need to be max level and soon have hongmoon level 5 to compete on an equal level
planetside2 and tf2 are FPS Games..

Just say that people, who bought GW2 and don’t buy HoT doesn’t get theirs elite specialisations for standard classes.
So, yeah, there are really p2w for them, cos pvp closed for them…
As I said, there is no MMORPG in existence that allows people to still be competitive unless they buy an expansion.
Please tell me how I can be competitive in WoW without buying legion.

You should post this in the pve section where it belongs, spvp was meant to be a level playing field not a p2w spam fest.
The PvE section normally doesn’t complain too much about P2W other than raids, just the PvP section. It is a level playing field, if you buy the expansion, like you should with every MMO if you wish to continue playing it competitively like it has been since the dawn of MMO’s

Hello this IS A MMORPG, EVERY MMORPG has ALWAYS required you to get the expansion to stay relevant.
Pay2Win is when you can get a statistical advantage over someone very quickly with $$$
Pay2Win has almost never been attached to expansions because normally expansions have a level cap. You should treat HoT just like an expansion with a level cap because of masteries and such. There is literally no reason you should scream P2W because there’s not a SINGLE MMORPG ALIVE where you can stay relevant if you don’t buy the expansion.
Stop complaining that “I have to buy HOT to be relevant”. Do you think in any other MMO you could NOT buy the expansion and still be relevant? Nope.
Infact in most other MMOs it increases the level cap.
I dont remember when the average MMORPG gamer became so whiny.
I mean the expansion is like 30$ for this game on DLGamer, super cheap.
You want a P2W game? Go play never-winter or arch age.
I mean i see people complaining that this game is dead, do you honestly think if a MMO doesn’t have WoW levels of population it’s dead? I gurantee you that GW2, FF 14, and Blade & Soul are the TOP 3 most played MMORPG’s right now that aren’t WoW

Honestly, I see the same people in unranked that I saw in ranked. Noobs don’t play in unranked, they play in hot join.
I don’t know about you but I normally only fight +1 fights anyway. I don’t try to 1v1 on any class because this game isn’t set around 1v1’s. When I started doing this I saw my win-rate go up.
I will continue to play shatter mesmer as it is what I like. I like portaling back and forth and decimating people while still defending my node. At the end of the day shatter mesmer wasn’t touched that much by the nerfs so I will continue to play it ;o

My win rate as a shatter mesmer has fluctuated, for a very long time, around 53%.Do you want to know my win rate on engineer?
Literally 63%.I’m not even a dedicated engineer.
The only class I actually perform worse on than my main, is Ele.

I don’t disagree, but a stronger elite IS BETTER FOR A TEAM FIGHT, THAN IT IS FOR ROAMING.

ahem Sorry for the caps, but I had to get that off my chest.
Our shatters are not strong enough as a +1 by themselves. Why?
1. They’re easily avoided. No, seriously. Just 1v1 a mesmer for a bit and realize how easy it is.
2. We have no sustained damage, and therefore no pressure when mind wrack is on cool down.
3. As I’ve mentioned previously, our defensive skills like Blurred Frenzy have an after cast delay that is abuse-able. Every decent thief I’ve fought, has capitalized on blurred frenzy fully casting.Also, the quickness nerf hurts Chrono Shatter. A lot.
Win-rate on my mesmer is 65% Win-rate on my ele is 59%
Win-rate on my engi is 60%
Win-rate on my DH is 47% o_o
I mostly pvp with those classes, my warrior has a 57% win rate aswell. IMO right now im only having issues with reapers.
I mean the nerfs suck, but i still think we are on a competitive level relative to other classes, just not relative to reapers

Shatter Mesmer is fine now because we’re running full glass and it’s only a matter of a week before people adjust and just show how “fine” shatter Mesmer is.

Honestly, I can’t tell ingame anymore but there used to be a camera stutter when turning it with ultra shadows on.
I’ve been testing it all day because a thread 4months ago said it was fixed but i can’t tell. thoughts?
Its comforting to know Mesmers are fine in hot join and unranked… Lol.
I mean I played mesmer beforehand too, I didn’t just randomly pick it up today. I used it in ranked all the time. Infact I have every class at 80 and I normally only play competitively on 2 or 3, but I do try to PvP with each one every balance patch.
I’ve been playing shatter since last night with no issues.
I’d like to believe Mesmer’s are now warrior tier so i could begin to learn another class but were not.
I solo que’d and didn’t team que so i didn’t abuse the system at all.
I also did read how the system worked on that big reddit post, but i didn’t care how it worked I just wanted to play.

Then again I got to diamond playing warrior.
You can’t draw whats OP and not OP yet. It’s been a day.
Remember with the bunkerish meta dissapearing warriors damage will be able to shine in pvp.
IMO warrior will be alot better since it wont be such a bunker meta you know.

what should I use for optimal FPS in wvw? in zergs with everthing maxed im dropping as low as 15fps. I’d like 30fps ideally in zergs.
There isn’t issues with ladder system/mmr because no one cares that people get carried. But the only reason WoW’s system works is because it is incredibly precise in that it waits until you get very close MMR’s. WoW has a higher pop thus they can sustain this type of system. If GW2 had this system you would see too high of queues, and then people would complain about that.
The flaws i see are mainly this. One – it is based around 3v3 and a high population. Two once you have a low population you begin to see the same issues with the WoW mmr system (ie 2.1k facing 1.8k) basically it would be an improvement but most of the same issues would be present just in different forms.

Uhh, WoW PvP has actually gotten really bad lately. I play WoW daily and am 2150 right now in 3’s with 2300xp from back in wotlk. There are ALOT of carries these days. and the issue with WoW Is that there are some really OP 3’s comps right now. The idea with WoW however is that they have the population to support the way there MMR functions. The issue with WoW’s ladder though is that it is highly abusable in a selling type structure. I used to sell carries and it’s NEVER been easier as it is now. There’s been nothing but complains in the WoW PvP forums lately, they actually have more complains then we do.
Im a multiglad myself that was part of one of the biggest RBG boost selling networks in EU. I know how boosts work and u cant prefent those. Dont think GW2 lends itself for these kind of practices tho since its less anonymous and the only relevant seasonal reward is actual money.
Wows MMR system itself is fine and working as intended. Do me a favour and manualy check all pages on the eu forums. Please show me the threads with complaints you mentioned.
Check the US forums. EU is completely different in alot of ways. All i know is everyone i PvP with on wow is pretty dissatisfied. Also the pvp population in WoW has dropped INCREDIBLY over this expac

No, there are games with functioning MMR systems that dont have these issues. Look at wows arena/ RBG ladder. Individual MMR/rating aswell.

Also as WoW’s only real competitive ladder is 3v3 and 5v5 that is TDM that is another reason they can do MMR the way they do. if GW2 SPVP was 3v3, obv things would be alot different, and WoW’s 5v5 mmr is horrendous as you’ll immediately fight 1.8k+ teams when you start out at 0mmr.

Were you guys grouped with the diamonds? MMR now goes off of the highest person and diamonds do face full legendaries sometimes. If you group with either of the diamonds that is why. I’m playing solo and so far its really good

It is supposed to last 1.5 sec with 0 phantasms and last longer with 3 phantasms.
It is now lasting 1.5sec regardless of phantasms WHICH is not what the bugfix was for.
I can’t believe this. it’s like they don’t even test there stuff.

Right now i’m running 10/30/0/30/0 with 95% crit damage, around 18-20k hp in wvw with 1200-1300 toughness.
Whats the current build for WvW? I find myself getting stomped when roaming (using GS+AXE/MACE) I have full ascended berserker trinkets and either berserker armor, or knights armor. Weapons, i have like 30 so what Should I be doing?
What is the current 100 gems to gold ratio?
It is applied ontop, ingame render sampling is nowhere as good as GPUs

I recommend a 660+ or equivalent GPU for SSAA as this game is CPU bound, but this will tax the GPU a bit more.
AA in game must be set to none and rendering set to native.
