I guarantee we will not be compensated for losing IP further down the line…..every 10 drop trait is almost worthless for a p/p HGH build unless you are going down explosion tree and using nades (i dont i use toolkit)
IP is too much damage to give up. Im just gonna have to sacrifice more durability to get it. Or maybe i would be better off just running nades instead of toolkit, im not sure
How do you maintain 25 stacks of might? whats ur build?
i will play around with both elixir H and medkit with that setup and see what i like better.
Ya im sacrificing a bigger heal and 2 condi removal compared to 1. But im not sure if that outweighs the amount of might stacks medkit provides.
Plus you cant just waste elixir H at the start of the fight so you will be coming into a fight with much less power than with medkit.
carp wouldnt it be better off to run elixir H in that build since thats 3 more stacks of might (on a longer cooldown) and since you are going all in HGH
honovi do you run enhanced performance as well?
with runes of noble (might on heal) EP and sigil of battle thats 9 stacks of might right out of the gate just by switching to medkit. I should easily be able to maintain 20-25 stacks i think.
i actually have not tried the build in wvw
You think it would be worth it to just take Powder and skip EP and just put those last ten points into defence?
i think i would lose a lot of killing power
Mask ur not gonna put 20 into Explosives to get IP?

Cool so the build i just spent days if not weeks trying to get a grip on/farm all the equipment needed is getting a big nerf with no compensation….awsome.
So HGH p/p is pretty much going to be sub par at best after this…
You cant balance ONE CLASS like it exists by itself, you have to take into account other classes filling the same role that an engineer could potentially fill.
What exactly do we bring to the table that another class CANT do better than us hmm?
Because i cant think of anything really.
You said you cant buff our other options so that balance is maintained BUT when our overall power is lower compared to most classes then yes you very well CAN buff up our underused abilities to competent levels.
all other classes are irrelevant. a nerf is when something becomes less effective than it once was and obviously a buff is the opposite.
So based off of the definition if it is harder for me to use something effectively (ie:need more points to do the same job) then it is indeed a nerf in my books.

I will clarify what im looking for, “this build is intended for high level fractals” (probably mostly pubs) not just as much dmg as possible.
Thats why elixir S and U are there for stealth invul and reflect.
Would it benefit going zerk ascended trinkets or something else?
i dont really want to waste my time farming those and they wont benefit the end goal

I love doing less damage than everyone else because they have higher tier weapons and kits are maxed at exotic level.
Im trying to maximize my Grenade build for PVE but im kinda struggling with the armor and trinkets aspect. The traits are fine i think.

Im looking to transition into ascended trinkets now and im wondering if im better off just going straight berserk for everything. (i plan on doing high level fractals and was told tanky stats are useless there its more about not getting hit)
What my best bet for sheer DPS output. Also my build is a slight modification of this build.

Not to mention guards and Wars are faceroll easy to play but most other classes require much more micro to get even close to the same damage numbers

Have you tried the noble/EP + hgh combo?
i notice in masks vids or your you guys cant maintain 20 stacks of might.
Ostrich uses the noble/EP with sigil of battle combo but he doesnt run HGH with it
Im really torn about what to do here lol..

Im wondering if im better off just getting the same runes you guys have and just running the same build.

Are you using Dire gear? i thought you werent using dire gear so you needed the extra toughness more.
I still maintain 2.6 k armor and 22k health with the adjusted traits because i have 7 pieces of Dire trinkets/p/p and the rest is Rabid, so still pretty tanky i might be able to afford going more offensive in the traits. Plus im gaining perma swiftness which is super valuable when roaming.
I guess i will try it out with EP/noble and HGH
and then switch back if its not working out.
Toss elixir H says on the toolbelt that it will give 2 stacks of might and it only gives 1.
Toss elixir B toolbelt says it will give 2 stacks of might (maybe 3 stacks if you randomly get might)
Toss Elixir S toolbelt also says you will get 2 stacks but you get one..
whats the deal?
Also swap a sigil of battle in one pistol and when you do a quick swap to medkit and back thats an instant 9 stacks of might right at the beggining of battle

Also i have been thinking a lot about the build and i came up with a variation:
With sigil of battle/noble runes/ and enhanced performance you can gain an instant =9= stacks of might right at the start of battle just by swapping to med kit and back.
Last 10 points in traits can be spent however.
Might stacking is more reliable i think.

why not use medkit with runes of noble and enhanced performance……..you will get more might than with elixir H on a ten second cooldown
bunker builds dont really suit my playstyle i wouldnt mind trying them out but i dont have the proper gear for it i dont think.
Also you should check out the unkillable elixir bomb build by carpboy

i have been doing some wvw and i do feel quite tanky however i feel like i lack damage but maybe thats because im new and suck.Or maybe not having those noble runes hurts me?
How should i approach fights? ive been watching videos but its so fast its hard to tell whats going on.
Pop elixir B at start and lead with magnetic shield/pry bar then rotate pistol skills.
Swap back to tools to block and maybe prybar again when in range.
Am i focusing on getting my might stacks as high as possible quickly.
Here is my exact build.
Use S and Stealth when needed, heal when needed and throw H when needed?
Also i heard they changed HGH recently…to what?

Why would i have to use medkit with noble runes?
i have armor set with 4X altruism and 2X water for pve stuff

Would it be a good idea to swap out the points in inventions and go straight down firearm tree for more damage on the pistol like coated bullets and modified ammunition…have u tried that?
I might just try and grind out the runes of Noble you think those are the best possible runes for this build?

Here is what i have available To use for Gear to make either build work for me.
-Full set of Zerk armor(exotic)4X runes of altruism 2X runes of water this is my PVE armor
-Full Set of Rabid armor(exotic) no runes yet but plan on adding Noble runes unless you guys have a good alternative.
-Full set of Rampager trinkets(exotic)
So most of my stuff is geared towards offence. If i bought a full set of Dire trinkets that would make a good set of defensive items i think.
I plan on running Rabid armor plus Dire trinkets. Do you guys think this can work good for either build? i can Swap out Dire for rampager as needed
(im super noob at WvW never played it)

Honestly im most worried about my gear…i could probably learn to play whichever build even tho i might pull my hair out with more than 1 kit.

Will this Gear setup work with any of those builds? Because changing some skills/traits around costs nothing but buying a whole new set of gear is not ideal.

if you are out for the maximum damage possible, you should use a mix of assassin’s and berserker gear and grenades/bombs/rifle.
at all costs leave the flamethrower at home, if you want to deal damage. it won’t help you maximize your damage output since it’s overall damage ist pretty crappy. i see berserker engis use ft now and then and mourn over the lost damage potential for the group. ft is a neat kit, but doesn’t contribute much to a damage focused build. it looks kitten, though, which i think is why people use it. conditions also don’t bring that much benefit, since the dps from conditions (even under ideal circumstances) more or less equals the grenade autoattack. and even if using conditions, eg isn’t the best choice for applying damaging conditions.
since crits and aoe are what’s needed in pve i recommend this build (more or less, you can and should tweak your utilites anytime you need it. f.e.: goggles->elixir b for less vunerability [stun break isn’t that great in pve, you only need it in very specific situations] and more stability; tool kit -> bomb kit for less block [block is amazingly neat in some dungeons, though] and more aoe damage, etc.):

Maximize nade damage its better to take 20% reduced CD over 10% dmg, and explosion radius only affects mines and bombs ur better off getting the bleeds or burns on crit.

i have been looking for hours trying to find a good wvw build and its been hard.
The build that seems to be at the top of the list for me is HGH
Im average at multitasking so a build with like 3 kits is way too involved for me, i could learn but it would have to be fun atleast.
I would rather stick to a simple yet effective build and i think HGH would fit.

Would it be effective to take out rocket boots and nade kit and put in Elixir B and S and turn this into an HGH build with the toolkit? or does the nades need to stay?
My opinion/feedback about that build? Grenades, 2 elixirs without HGH? Well, i’d say this is pretty terrible. If swiftness is your concern, you have elixir B with increased boon duration and the drop stimulant on med kit for 30+ seconds of swiftness combined with 50% boon duration alone on a 20 and 32 second cooldown(with fast acting elixirs) = perma swiftness.
You should read my post from a few days ago again.
look at the build i modified from that website i gave in the OP. He has 1 elixir with nade and elixir gun, i just changed 1 trait and took out elixir gun and put elixir S in its place because elixir S ir more of an OH S*** button more than anything and it wouldnt benefit from HGH anyways.
It pretty well the same build just slightly tweaked. If i were to use Elixir B and elixir U THEN i would probably be going HGH because i could actually use it.
I dont really want to drop elixir S for B because in dungeons if i ever get focused im screwed without it

Im also looking into an HGH build for WvW aswell. Right now i have All berserk Armor with 4x runes of altruism and 2x runes of water and then all my trinkets are rampagers.
Do i need to change any of that?

im level 23 Mesmer right now. What is the best weapon for leveling just to get to 80 or running with zergs? cause i really like GS for soloing but im not sure what would be good for the zerging or speed leveling
