Thousands of players have left to go find another game and community that won’t try hoodwink them. By the time the damage is repaired this game will be past it’s sell by date. There is fresh games out there already. What’s the point in this company anymore?

TLDR: MMO concepts integrated into games aimed at capturing up-and-coming gamers (shooters, action games, sports games) are taking potential new users away from traditional MMORPG’s. As a result, MMORPG’s such as WoW and GW2 are dwindling and dying out.

I have a perfect example for you.

I moved onto Elite:Dangerous in 2014.
I kind of understand the game but still they confused me and I didn’t see the game they made.

They pretended it was an mmo and listed it as an mmo.

They had a massive exodus last year and the game is now empty but the company did well and released another game.

Even mmo’s for a while now have been trying to add arcade features and easy content to tempt FPS style gamers. GW2 is no exception.

The match up threads and reset nights.

SFR v Vizuna.

Bombing.

Those Garrison fights.

The small scale fights over choke points and camps.

1st 18 months of WvW was best gaming ever.

Thank you to all the roamers, blobbers and guilds for the fights.

Edit: I also got dishonour eventho I never dc’d from the match. Afaik no one else dc’d either.

It has been like this for me since I switched server a few months ago and I came from what I thought was a laggy server. This lag is not the same as other servers lag and it’s every day the same thing.

Be careful about your burst on a powermancer.
I dont think many necro’s do this but they can trait for retaliation when entering DS. Also most are traited for weakness when entering DS.
If you go into stealth and they place a mark on themselves be wary about bursting them down.
He is waiting for your burst. He will have a split second to pop DS and the retal will hurt you. You wont really survive after that if he know’s what he’s doing. He’ll prolly fear you next and then follow up with DS2 or Staff Mark 3 ( both are chill) and if he has dagger, will immobilse you and you are toast after that if it lands. The dagger spam is so dangerous against thieves.

I don’t know if a thief has a way around that but from experience they just rush in with a backstab from stealth (or whatever it is you do) and it does nothing to my necro and its a turning point in the fight.
Always interrupt their heal, that will turn the fight around for you and put the necro under serious pressure especialy if he is out of lifeforce. That is your chance to end the fight as long as his health is under 50% and his spectral armour(minor trait) is already on cooldown. Ofc he may have back up but thats your chance there.

I think maybe u need to spam shortbow from range and avoid any marks he lays down, at some point the powernecro needs to get close, either because DS1 is so easy to avoid from range or axe is easy to dodge too and if they spam DS1 hoping to land it, they will run out of lifeforce and again they are vunerable.
Keep your distance until you see his spectral armour activate, then after that if you can manage to avoid his hits he will have little lifeforce and you can time your moment.
You can step in and out, do some damage after he leaves DS to help deplete his health faster but be careful of weapon swap sigils that chill you or other effects cos that might mess you up too.
I am also looking for advice on how you guys defeat necro’s cos I just started to play my theif and I have really never had a problem with thieves in 1 v 1. They just seem so easy to counter with necro.

Delete the character on that account.

Then you should be able to use that name and recreate the character on your own account.

WvW idea is that you can go there do some random fighting against other players and mobs. You can craft gear, kill centaurs, do some jumping puzzles and do all kind of other fun stuff. WvW is like EotM, but more casual.

Tanking damage is an important thing. Be sure you play the meta classes (guard, warri prefered) and if you are a heavy run with 3.5k+ armor. Gs or hammer/staff with gua and hammer/sword+warhorn with warrior. Stability, ah build with gua and shout support with warrior. Your personal damage is secondary. Stay alive, keep others alive.

under no circumstances do you need THAT much armor. You hit diminishing returns on the Armor stat at 3k, which is about as much armor as you will realistically need. Once you hit 3k armor, you’re much better off stat-ing into damage.

Nonsense,more toughness will Always be better,if you know your builds you can make sure your dmg is coming from other sources.

He’s right about hitting 3k armour. After that it’s a waste. Maybe can just go a little over, like 3.1k. I used to have 3.5k but that was early 2013.

To be honest, you can’t expect most Guilds to move at this point of the games lifespan, just because players are stacking on a single Server, as most of the top Guilds left are in among Top Tiers now. Otherwise variety is good, only if people stop thinking WvW as a balanced Competition – to focus on the fights instead, for the WvW scene for Guilds will at least strive and stay active in terms of Competitiveness, to a certain extent, it needs to happen.

Just that nr1 server has too many guilds and they have to wait for guilds to finish their scrims. Well when I was there we was lucky if we got one fight every hour, had to search whole map for a guild to fight and then you got blobbed sometimes. Sometimes we had to que up to scrim another guild. And casuals complained that we didn’t ppt. lol.
Well that will change soon cos of PPK.
No ones cares for ppt or the win. Just their individual scrims or fights. 1v1, 10v10, blob v blob.

WvW is not dead, ppt is.

Bring back match up thread’s tho and all will change over night and wvw will become that epicness you all crave.

Anet are waiting for all players to stack T1. They let it naturaly happen over time and then they can shut down some lower tier servers. They keep the revenue from gem sales and it’s a gold sink for those who use gold to buy gems. The numbers will be so low at bottom tiers that shutting down those communties won’t matter to them.
This is not a suggestion, just an observation but who knows what their intentions really are at this time. RIP to some communities.

I was 320 in que to EB on SFR. I forgot about it and had only reached 240 when I logged later.

I had same problem with my mouse. This happened alot to me last year. It doesn’t happen anymore. I didn’t so anything but maybe I downloaded drivers or something but it just would happen for a week then stop for a month then return again so I just ignored it or put up with it. Not cool in pvp.
I have a Logitech mouse too.
So yeah, eventualy it will go away but I don’t know of any fix apart from install drivers again.

for last 2 years i noticed that alot of mouse/keyboard complaints mention Logitech.
I have some issues with a Logitech mouse.

I have same issue as you both with my necro.
I have resorted to spamming the heal skill to make sure it goes off. Its normal for the 2nd click to activate the heal skill.
It has been like this for me for a very long time now.
It is only my necro that has this issue.

There is no benefit to the new commander tags in wvw.

Even if community in wvw decided blue tag randoms can follow, red tags do not follow, it’s for raids, it still wouldn’t work.

What was asked for was tags that were only visible to guildies.
This is a PvE change and a gold sink.
They pretend its wvw improvement but talk about how it can be used for 3 headed wurm.

In SFR we have no choice but to go wvw zerg busting and we doing well.
Make the application and our guild leader can set up ts3 meeting.
We need about 6/7 players and we can go closed raid again.

I think it’s a useful tool and all that but I now think it’s having a negative effect.

I think there is lots of players left in game who don’t need a tag to motivate them and will work with each other in map chat. The thing is on bigger content there are others who just won’t participate until there’s a tag and that can hold everyone back.
Or worse still trolls grief cos there is no tags and spoil it for players who can organise themselves.

I saw this with LA, now with Pavilion.

Maybe only guildies should be able to see the tag and the rest of us should just get on with it.

I have a tag and can use it. But it’s a sad thing that I need to use it to motivate players.

It very easy to loose our emails to rogues.
And Anet shouldn’t allow them easy access cos ‘well it’s the customers fault’.

Its true that we must use only one email and unique passsword for gw2.
And its not keyloggers who are doing it. Technology has moved on from that. And so has the system of gathering emails.

I care that players are leaving the game and I try not to leave too. The game was well made with good blueprint to success. They blew it and are trying to recover. I think it was after summer 2013 it nose dived and is heading for a collision.
I really enjoyed the game before that and the game itself is really good. It’s spoilt by brats who just trample over all content for shinies. That champ train and EotM/WvW karma train is the most boring kitten I ever done in a game.
Pavilion is better cos it needs us to work together but again it takes massive resources to try pull it off. If there is no tag at a boss no one will even try. Then there’s the one’s who spoil it on purpose to stop you doing it. Really? What is this crap?
Ok a few times I been there and like minded players have got together and done it perfect without tags but that been rare and can be hard.

I go to FG Sound and tag up so my guildies can find me for complete guild mission. I at the bottom of the map in the caves. Why do I need abuse from PvE cos of that. I get abuse cos these players got no brain? What, there a tag away from your train and what? I spoilt your train? It can’t function no more? Really?

iirc before spring 2013 I never saw a tag outside LA or WvW on my server. We always got things done. It was never an issue. We co operated, got it done, worked out the mechanic, talked to each other and helped each other. Rarely see that now. Worse thing ever having commander tags in PvE. It should be viewable to your guild only. That will make us all have to work together.

My hunch is that the game is going to improve over the rest of 2014 and in 2015 it will come alive again. At least for PvE anyway. I reckon we are getting a treat before the year is out. I think they are going to excite us again but wheather it stays toxic, well that’s up to us, the players.

You are meant to sell it at a vendor. It’s extra income, junk sale. That’s all.
You get that stuff in pve too.

Go to any vendor and press sell junk to clear it from inventory and get some copper for it.

I think you can see the chest on the mini map but its not there to loot.

In open world pve it will do just fine and is op against normal mobs.
I haven’t played that way for 18 mths so now I go remake it and try it again cos it was fun. I think I even kept the gear.

And i found out that the best tactic to spike interest in them is to be honest about why you invest in them.
In the end, everybody has to make his own decisions in what to invest in.

Having said that there is a way to make instant profit from crafting, ofc alot less tho.

I bought Silver doubloons for my legendary the other day and left them in bank.
3 days later on another toon I transmogrified all my jewels or whatever they called.
I did press cancel tho. And saved one silver doubloon. Lucky me.

I have 2 guildies who met in our guild and are getting married today. They will be back online tomorrow. Sun 8/6/2014.

When we gather for guild missions we plan to surprise them with an in game wedding or something like that.
But we are not role players and not very creative and only have 24 hrs left.
And want to make it special, not over the top or anything but just short/fun and memorable.
The ideas we got are pretty lame so we need help.

A bit like the dolyack bug. We can see it but it takes no damage but if you stand behind it and hit fresh air it takes damage cos thats where it actualy is.

All they need to do is watch matches for a little while. Even just a week or weekend.
They will catch some and when temp ban them the word will spread very quickly thru pve community. It will stop. For a while but prolly a long while.

Hardcore pve farmers will not risk 3 days no farm for anything.

When I was a noob I took it like a man.
My bottom hurt for only 1 sec, then it’s back to pvp.

And then mysteriously, one day, I stopped getting ‘advice’ from team mates.

dw about hotjoin. It’s for fun/practice and for some its mini-wvw.

They can’t do anything m8, they really can’t.
We are all suffering on all servers. It is rife.

We just have to wait till their hacks don’t work anymore or they get bored.

How did Anet detect AFK’ers during LA Living Story?

Only use I can think of is for frontline necro in zerg. Works well there.
Or for stomping but not worth it imo.

Stun break would make it more useful in pvp but not wvw I would think.
If it was stun break it would be like the warrior new elite that gives extra 1000 toughness but I don’t know if that would be too strong for balance reasons cos we can stay in DS much longer and might mean they have to nerf DS.

Maybe its fine that we don’t have stability? I mean we have ways of transfering soft cc back to target. If we couldn’t do this then maybe we would have stability?

Every time I enter wvw maps my armour changes to green colour.

Its the black and abyss dye that keeps changing to green.

It looks crap.
