I understand why it occurred from a code perspective. The weights are on the items, so they unlock for that weight class.
However, going by all of the unlockable skins in season 1, when a skin is available on all three weight classes, it unlocks for all three at the same time. Have there been any other LS skins that were the same on all armor classes, but unlocked only one at a time?
I believe this is not intended, but perhaps I am wrong.
For all of the past unlockable Living Story skins, getting those skins would unlock it for light, medium, and heavy armors. I had received one of the heavy face masks in a buried locked chest, and I purchased the heavy goggles on the TP, assuming that the skins worked the same way as they previously did. I then crafted the combined set, thinking that this would unlock the skin across all characters, as the skins have worked in the past, but I now find that I have only unlocked that skin for heavy armor. This is a problem, as I do not actually want this skin for heavy armor. I would prefer to have it on medium armor. I don’t even care about the stats on the helm, so that’s not an issue for me. Just the skin.
Is it possible to either make the skin work like they used to (unlocking for all armor classes), or to take away my heavy skin unlock and give me the medium skin unlock? For that second one, I understand that it wouldn’t be viable without taking away the actual helmet item, and I would be fine with that. Also, that option would probably make this thread become one that should be posted in support instead of bug (if it isn’t actually a bug), so it would need to be moved.
This was my first thought after reading about the dye update as well. It would be nice to get an answer on this.
An update: I have found what I need to block the gem store, and I am going to be trying to get this friend into therapy for his problems. Since he may frequent these forums, I am not going to post the blocking solution. Please message me if you have similar needs and want to know what I have discovered.
This is basically an intervention. He’s spent hundreds of dollars on gems to convert them to gold, and this has caused several of his loans to generate late fees, and it has just all-around made things worse for his life. It seems that he has a compulsion for this, as his work and real life don’t offer much for him to feel proud of. That’s the short of it. We’ve talked to him, and he’s agreed that it’s a problem, and we’ve gone over his finances, and we’ve made plans for how to manage everything… and then he does it again. He is currently living with his parents, and he has too much debt to even consider living on his own.
On to what I have tried:
I have tried using Fiddler2 to track the URLs that are accessed by the gem store, so that I can block them at the router level, but no matter what I take from the Fiddler2 results and add to the blocked sites list, it doesn’t stop the gem store from opening.
I also tried to look for what that one program is that GW2 uses to run its in-game web browser, thinking that I would prevent that program from gaining access to the internet, but I don’t remember what it was called, and my searches are coming up empty.
Can anyone help me with this?

A suicide button would be great. I got stuck in terrain twice in W2Z2, and one of them was inside of on of the gong-hitting logs, where rabbits wouldn’t summon with the shovel.

I heard the horror stories before I tried this zone, so I first did it on Infantile to get the powerglove ability, and then used the shortcut eagle in Normal mode. That might work for you, too, if you just want to complete it.
Yeah, sounds like you missed the original run of this. I think the skins are still on the TP, though.
You can still get them in other colors from Tribulation Mode, though... Well, theoretically.
Yes. It means that someone is up to something, and they are against Jennah.
where to begin.
Bugs,
1) Fell through the floor after some one ran out of time. I was up next, floor was still gone.
2) Spawning mutilple people in the same gauntlet.
3) Bosses getting stuck and not being able to get hit and you still get hit by them.
4) The light person you have to kill by luring her into the chaos storms, some of the storms don’t do anything, there just there cosmetically, this got me killed 5+ times.
5) Dodging deadeyes shot works 75% of the time
6)Beating chomper to the meat but being unable to pick it upComplains
1) Extremely hard to do as a underleved class with sub rare gear, doesn’t scale as well. (this isn’t necessarily a bad thing kind of nice to have 80 exclusive thing)
2) Not being able to do it with your current build so you have to spend money on respecting and getting different gears
3) Not allowing thieves to cloak on some fights…. Um thats what they do, near impossible to do anything with out it. And before you say go tanky, the tanky traits rely on cloaking.Thats a good starting list
That is a good starting list. Now, how easily can you reproduce these issues and with which bosses? That is also useful for debugging.
You should probably suggest something constructive. I haven’t had any bugs with the gauntlet, nor have I heard complaints about it. Any clarification at all would be better than none.
and to make matters worse, i already droped them in my bank for 6 of my characters and now they are gone!!
nice work anet
Wait, the ones you put in your bank disappeared? Shoot, I logged on to all of my characters to get the account wallet stuff done, and put those in the bank while I was online.
EDIT: Seems I shouldn’t believe everything I read on the internet. Just logged in to check, and my tickets are still in the bank as ’Soulbound on Acquire’. Seems that I can pull them out a few at a time on any character, so no issues here.
(edited by Beta Sprite.4169)
Looks like a nice mesoamerican set. I might get a few of them for one of my more ’golden’ characters.
Yes, page 3. I must missed this one.
Maybe a lot of us did not saw that replies or just think its fine the way it is? Even if its not an hour it hurts to read that they wanted to fix it.the reason i made this thread. i knew people would come with their sarcastic bs “How long is the ICD” but what they don’t understand is that it doesn’t matter. This was supposed to be fixed and fixed long time ago. Nothing been done and they let it broken like dozens of other skills/traits in this game.
How long it has been in place is irrelevant. How badly is it affecting players, and is it worse than other things that need a developer’s time?
If the answers are “not affecting many player’s ability to play mesmers” and “not as bad as other issues”, then it will not be prioritized, regardless of how long it has been in place.
...
Given that the NPCs referred to the rapier as a weapon they had never seen before, I would expect it to come in as a new weapon type in the future, available to a few of the classes. I would have been fairly disappointed if it came through as a mere skin.
Makes me a bit relieved that it wasn’t made available as a skin here, and a little more assured on my theory that it will be a new weapon type.
Funny. When I saw those ads, I thought "Yeah, those are political commercials."
Then again, I’m in America, and our politicians are pretty much kittens.
Definitely. This will change who I vote for depending on the answer.
Zenith staff + necro = Awful !!!!!!
I disagree. Then again, my necro isn’t very dark. =P
I believe the Corrupted weapons also require level 80 to learn.
To be fair, they aren’t timed limited as these are.
Sure, but you can do what I did with the Corrupted recipes: Pick them up before you are level 80, and learn them when you are.
I believe the Corrupted weapons also require level 80 to learn.
Sounds like you met up with a bad batch. I don’t think I’ve even seen chat in most of the games I’ve played, and I don’t think anyone was letting anyone else win.
If the name-calling bothers you, report them and move on. If you don’t want to leave the race, just keep winning, and they can take their altruism to another match. It’s ridiculous that they expect everyone to follow their made-up rules for letting other players get the achievement.
I understand your point of view as to why it would benefit ANet financially, but I also don’t think they would take the risk of a refund service due to the fact that outside of actual game sales, the gem store is their ONLY source of income through the game, and the fact that it has such a large impact on the game’s market. Gems would be valued significantly less if they were exchanged back and forth as often as a refund system would allow
Sure, but the main thing that would make this work is that it’s not a full refund. You would not be able to turn your old infinite sickle into a new infinite sickle. You would need to purchase SOME gems, but little enough that you go from “I already have one of these” to “if I spend a bit of money and return this, I can get the new one”. This would mean that some of the previous buyers (players who have shown that they will spend money on these items) will spend again, when otherwise they wouldn’t.
I believe that this system would actually generate revenue. If you disagree, then we’ll just have to disagree.
Just one question - why would you want to trade one infinite tool for the other of the same variety? Do you mean if a new axe comes along that has a more attractive graphic effect or something like that?
Yes, that was the intent. For example, if you have the Chop-It-All and they come out with an axe that animates like Whirlwind Axe plus an icy wind effect, and you want that one, you would trade in your Chop-It-All for some gems, buy a few more gems to make up the difference, and then pick up the new axe.
The idea here is that players may say "Well, I already have an infinite axe, so getting the new one would be a waste.." In that case, no gems are bought, and no pressure is put on the gold-to-gems market. If the player could feel like they can get the new one for cheaper due to their previous purchases, it makes them more likely to go and spend more on the new items. It’s like trading in your old games to partially pay for a new one, and there are businesses based around that.
I don’t think that it’s a fair suggestion.
We already get quite a lot for the price we paid for the game, and there’s probably a decent balance of real money gem buyers vs the rest. Your suggestion would probably benefit players much more than the company, which is not that good considering how much we are getting already.
I don’t believe that is true, although I don’t think that either of us have data to back up our opinions.
Like I mentioned above, I believe that the ability to trade something old in to get something new will encourage the flow of money, not stifle it. If you only get 400 gems for your old CIA axe, you still need 400 more for the new axe. You will either purchase more gems (in bunches of 800, no less) or put pressure on the gold-to-gems market (which makes it more likely that players will spend money on gems, either to translate it to gold or to avoid spending gold for their gems).

GWAMM and 50/50 GW1 veteran here.
ANet shouldn’t give us anything more than what they already have. We KNEW that everything above 30/50 was going to be titles only, and GWAMM was always just a title. They said it a long time ago.
The fact that they made the achievements worth more now is icing, but they didn’t have to, and if it’s going to bring these entitled posts out of the woodwork, I almost wish that they hadn’t increased their point worth. Apparently, it makes people think that they can weasel more out, and that is ridiculous.
All right, so I think that we all know that it is inevitable that the Chop-It-All logging axe and its friends are not the last unlimited gathering tools that are going to grace the store. This isn’t from data-mining or anything, it’s just figuring that ANet would continue to make money by making more gathering tools going forward.
So, if a new logging axe comes out, wouldn’t it be good to be able to trade in your old one for some gems (maybe 50%) towards the new one? I believe that this would both make it more likely for previous purchasers to purchase again (because they’re not paying for the ‘same item’ in full price again), and it would make players more likely to purchase in the first place, knowing that they can get part of their investment back if something more interesting does come along.
Now, personally, I wouldn’t want to limit this to just the gathering tools. How about those Aetherblade armor sets? They all come in one chunk of 800 gems, but what if you just want the gloves, shoulders, and boots? How about being able to return the three pieces you don’t want to get ~200 gems back? 600 gems for the pieces you really want may be easier to swallow than 800 for the whole thing.
Taking it one step further, perhaps the items could return gems at a rate of 80-100% if refunded while the item is still being sold, which gives someone who has buyers remorse a chance to get most of their investment back without feeling ripped off.
As for implementation… Well, as a developer, I know that I hate getting designs that already have the solution in their requirements, but I have a suggestion, anyway:
- A new tab on the TP that is just for refunding items. Applied skins cannot be refunded.
- Right-click option that opens the TP to that tab, with the item selected, just like the ‘Sell item at trading post’ menu option
I had this same problem, and eventually found that I had to actually hit someone with the the blind skill for it to count it and complete the achievement.
Also, your PvP skins can be deposited as collectibles, and any character can take it out of the PvP locker. They’re not REALLY soulbound.
Ugh, this I actually just made Sunrise last night, and 5 achievement points for months of work seems so cheap. At least give us something for each step like creating each gift rewards 5 points, its not like you can farm those easily. It does tend to cater to the easier things in the game giving the most points, which is completely backwards if you ask me.
Did you honestly make Sunrise for the achievement points?
Seriously, the reward of a legendary is the legendary itself, not the little points that come along with it.
I don’t know anyone that was personally affected, but I just needed to come in and point out that this jumping puzzle isn’t new. I think there are just more people doing it now as a result of there being a cache up there.
Why is this recipe such a big deal to you? You can still buy RDCs and have a chance to get it, and even if you don’t, it’s just a food recipe.
I do recall there being something about recipes in the RDCs before they released them, but then there wasn’t anything when they actually were released. I can’t find any evidence of it now, though.
Edit: Oh, and if you’re trying to get a moderator to respond, being completely negative and half-unintelligible isn’t the way to do it. No one wants to talk to someone who is flipping out. Including me. I’m done.
yeah because no info about this item

no info about this item
so this fix/added?
There was no info because it wasn’t in the game. It was supposed to be in the chest, but it was not.
They have now added it to the chest, and they are going to send everyone who had previously bought one the recipe for free, because if it had worked as intended originally, they MIGHT have gotten one.
You can buy them now and have a chance to get the recipe.
Oh, and the wiki is updated by players, not ANet. It’s not a valid source for any sort of legality claim.
I lol’d irl.
You didn’t buy any before, and now that they’re fixing them and compensating players that DID buy it before it worked correctly, you’re complaining? Sounds like a whiny grab at free stuff to me.
It’s COMPENSATION. Something that others who already took part missed out on due to a bug. You (and I, who also did not buy any rich coffers) are entitled to NOTHING.
It was a required 5 points in Illusion for all builds. Now, it’s not.
While I’m going to miss the recharge reduction for my support builds, it means that I will be moving those points over to something else, like the upgraded Bountiful Interruption in Chaos.
Yeah, there was definitely a warning. There always is whenever you transmute something.
If you can get a white or blue backpiece, you can transmute it onto that, making it not soulbound, then put it in storage, take it out on your other character, and finally transmute it AGAIN to re-bind it to the new character.
Not to mention you don’t need that achievement for the wings, if that’s what you’re after. Just wait for the next story bit to be added today.
And when is that? The day is almost over.
Considering that ANet’s in America on the west coast, it is currently ~9am there. I would expect the update to drop within the next 4 hours or so.
You don’t need to do that achievement to get the wings. There are 14 achievements, and you need to do 10.
For my experience, I played 24 games, winning 20 of them. For most of them, we had 2 AFKers on each side, so that was actually pretty even. I had a lot of fun with it, and made Top Player for about 2/3 of the games.
It was fun, although I don’t really feel much drive to go back now. I like the standard combat more than this form of PvP.
I thought that was supposed to already be in, based on the developer stream from Monday…
The only thing I’d heard was that if you didn’t move for X seconds, it teleports you onto the field.
There are 14 achievements, and you only need to do 10 for the wings. You didn’t need to bet on the moa races at all.
So “the content has been temporarily disabled” preventing you from making it in the MF, anyone know why?
Also, shouldn’t it really be a mini holographic dragon on some kind seen as it’s the dragon bash event? o.0 … oh and I hope the shattered wings look like Kerrigan’s from starcraft 2 and not those midgety, hyper-active spyro wings.
But for the most part good-effort, it’s nice getting an event every month, keep it up!
They’re Kralkatorik’s wings. If you’re unclear what that looks like, look up the next time you’re in LA. Those are the wings.
Quick correction: The Shatterer =/= Kralkatorik.
The hologram in LA is the Shatterer. Kralkatorik is way bigger.
If you leave the area, you forfeit your entry. Where did you fall, and did you waypoint after dying?
^ Lawl. Some of them are actually quite awesome. Some others are obviously overpowered, and some I can’t approve. What’s your problem with queen Jennah?
Search for Magic Bullet on this wiki page.
I didn’t notice any of them being broken, nor do I know of any instance where you need to finish them.
Elaboration please?
To expand on the OP’s idea and make it more visible to players where the boost is occurring, perhaps making it into a ’bonus’ achievement so that players can just open their hero panel and see what is currently getting the boost.
Those merchants are new and permanent, and there wasn’t going to be a new armor skin coming out for this LS.
Do you think that unlocking these merchants is some kind of amazing achievement that should give you new cosmetic rewards? They’re nowhere near as difficult as anything else that gives good-looking armor (dungeons, temples, etc.).
Seems about right. They said there wouldn’t be any new armor skins, and there aren’t.
I heard they were working on changing MF, though. I wonder why they would give another place to pick up Traveler’s. =/
No idea what you’re talking about. Any screens or video?
Or even a description?
Woot. Glad I put in those buy orders on the t6 mats before their supply dropped.
#1 is good as it is.
#2 could have much better teleportation mechanics (moving away from the target or allowing you to place a reticle for destination of the teleport would be nice) or a different mechanic entirely, but what is suggested in the OP is pretty broken.
#3 is crazy damaging, and that is occasionally what gets me off of my downed state. I agree that it needs to cause regen and such when phantasms are traited if it doesn’t, but I’ve never really noticed.
Yes, but don’t transmute it.
