Sorry to rain on your parade, but Mesmer requiring 10x more effort to accomplish what everyone else could do didn’t make it better or more fun…it just made it non-meta and aggravating to play. Now we’re getting a reward more appropriate to the effort we put in, and some deluded mesmers are asking for nerfs. It boggles the mind.

You can’t scream for buffs all the time and then turn around and ask for nerfs after you get buffed. Stupid threads like this are one of the reasons mesmers never get nice things.

A lot of people here have the subconscious condition Psychological Reversal. You all are used to being treated like Bantha Fodder so when you are finally treated equally like everyone else….you want to go back to being treated like Bantha Fodder.

So STOP making all these QQ and Nerf threads. Everyone knows over time, things are going to change. All these threads are going to do is to send Mesmer back to the stone age where we were before.

IMHO you should pick the race you like to look at the most because if you dont like how your toon looks, then you will lose interest in playing it.

One thing to note is all of the armors and outfits in this game were scaled to fit the human race. So especially for the Charr race, alot of the outfits dont really scale well and kinda look glitchy.

As for advantages in combat, Asura are generally harder to target in a big group. Also because they dont stick out as much, it is generally agreed upon they are easier to hide in captured structures with in case you want to port friendly groups in.

For small scaled fights, Charr mesmers can confuse opponents easier of their position because of the large scaled mesmer Charr clones they create. Although this wont really work on the more experienced players.

Well if you are in a certain map and you enter wvw, and you alt+f4 when you are in a downed state, when you re-log in you will be in a downed state and not dead. Your enemy will also be denied loot and wxp.

Also, you dont even have to alt+f4. You just just hit escape, click character selection, and log back on with your toon without even having to reload and re-login your game.

Furthermore, if you are running your game off a Solid State Drive this can literally be done in seconds. I know this because my OS and my game run off a Solid State Drive.

I tested this and reported it about 2 months ago but it still hasn’t been fixed.

@OP I am willing to bet the thief you fought simply did this when he was down and in stealth. He probably runs his game on a Solid State Drive so it would only take a matter of seconds for him to quit and relogin to his spawn. I highly doubt he hacked.

I wouldn’t really say “rising from the dead”.

Our score has only been good because we pvd defenseless structures when everyone is sleeping.

I was really hoping this thread would not appear in the forums so people wouldn’t catch on to this.

But yes if you alt+f4 before dying you deny your enemy a loot bag.

Also you dont even have to alt+f4…..You can just hit esc, click the character selection screen and just relog in on the same character. Your character will be in a downed state, not dead and you deny your enemy a bag. This saves you a bunch of time since you dont have to reload or relogin the game.

Ever since the nerf to Traveler runes, I have switched to Runes of Speed. I find the 20% swift duration, +100 vitality and 25% chance to gain swiftness when struck to be way more useful than 10% boon/condi duration and +16 all stats.

Is this like a trick question? Everyone has already been stacking on DR, it has become the new bandwagon server for this tournament. It was decided on Reddit like 3 weeks ago and the move has already begun.

Are there any PVT builds that are viable for Mesmer in wvw? I remember way back seeing a few builds that had PVT for armor and then some beserkers mixed in accessories for extra crit dam. But since the april patch and crit dam got nerfed, are those kinds of builds invalid now?

When I roam on my glass mesmer, I go looking for fights. Even if I get outnumbered and I have the opportunity to escape, I wont. I play to fight and kill as many people as I can, while also trying to up my skill in facing multiple opponents at once.

When I am on my support guard, I play to help my friends and zerg. However when I get on my guard, I usually have about 15 minutes or so of downtime before we group up. So during that time I will go take a camp or sentry or something. If one enemy engages me…or four I will run like a kitten haha. I actually find it to be quite alot of fun to have four people trying to finish me off before I get to safety…I’m always like "I hope I make it! >.< " even though a fair share of the time I dont lol. I will never complain or QQ about it, wvw is a hostile environment…it’s killed or be killed

I mostly solo roam in wvw. I am a power build. I love fighting condition builds! No need to nerf condition builds or food. The End

You do realize the reason why you and eb are doing good this week is because Kaineng has allowed you to right? Kaineng has gotten bored destroying both et and eb only to get cremated by FC and DR. It has happened 2 times already….this tournament is absolutely horrible and dry so 3 of Kain’s 5 wvw guilds have decided to not participate anymore. It makes no sense to beat the both of you and then lose and then beat the both of you again only to face the same people over and over and over o_0

Now with the recent wvw tournament going on and with Anets failure to provide any new exciting features for wvw…it has basically been the same since launch…and all the complaints about “bandwagoner servers”, “blob wars” having no strategy and its just about who has more people, and with PPT being broke…I have heard ALOT of people saying they and their guilds are going to leave for ESO both in game Guild Wars 2 and here in the forums…

I just wanted to make this thread to inform any of you that might be having these thoughts that….ESO SUCKS. Plainly. IT IS HORRIBLE.

Basically though if you dont want to watch the video, the pve is absolutely horrible, the community setup is absolutely horrible(it feels like a single player game) and the PVP is almost exactly the same as in GW2. In PVP it all comes down to whoever has the bigger “blob” wins. Absolutley NOTHING groudbreaking new.

I was playing the game on the side since beta and I was severly disappointed…especially in the PVP since I was looking forward to a new experience.

I know alot of us wvwrs are on our last leg with GW2, since anets abandonment of wvw…but ESO is not the way out.

I usually pop “Retreat” right when I am about to jump into a group of enemies.

So instead of my Guardian yelling “RETREAT!”, I wish he would instead yell:

He uses a guardian and kills mesmers and thiefs NAKED. Meaning he wears NO ARMOR. Watch his videos and he will explain all his builds and how they work. Really THIS IS A L2P ISSUE.

I believe you are referring to 9:24. I think he was able to have 5 out because if you notice when he has 3, he presses F1 for them to go shatter. As the 3 are running to go blow up, he is able to respawn another 2…I believe it was because the game has already considered the 3 he sent to already be “dead” allowing him to make another 2 clones.

I understand the condition damage would still make it a good build but if so much is lost in burst damage wouldn’t it just be more sufficient to go full condition?

Is this still a strong build? I know the patch just came out but I believe a decent amount of people are running this. Did the patch really negate the burst damage of this build?

THESE THREADS ABOUT STEALTH NEED TO STOP. STEALTH ON THIEVES IS NOT BROKEN.

I’m going to be extremely honest, I LOVE FIGHTING THIEVES <3. When I see a class that has nearly unlimited access to stealth, I don’t say “oh man that is op” I say “BRING IT ON BABY!!!”

In wvw I roam around on my mesmer and when I fight a thief mostly one of two things happen:

1) He dies.
2) He runs away.

When I engage a thief in a fight I am very patient and I watch what skills he uses. One of my favorite tactics to use is to get the thief to use Shadow Refuge. Most thieves use Shadow Refuge when their health is low and they want to reset a fight without fully running away. So what I do is I work on getting the thief’s life low by hitting him with burst damage/conditions depending on what build I am using with my mesmer (shatter, phantasm, condition ect..) while at the same time I try to keep my health somewhat in the middle.(if my health is too high and the thieves life is too low, he will most likely fully retreat from the fight) When I see his life starting to get low I make sure my GS is the current weapon I’m using, and as soon as he pops that Shadow Refuge…a big smile appears on my face because I know he just signed his death warrant I then use my knockback wave from my GS which throws him out of his refuge and then I nuke him by either using a phantasm or shattering. The thief is then sitting on his butt and I finish him off I can’t tell you how many thieves I have killed by using this tactic haha. And this is just ONE of many tactics I use when dealing with thieves.

Now I am not some OP/best ever dueler/never die in wvw guy by a long shot. I get killed in wvw everyday from duels to getting jumped. However I do try to learn as much as I can from my loses and from implementing new strategies against opponents

Now here is a MAJOR complaint I hear people saying about thieves and the solution to it is EASY

Lets say I fight the thief and I kick his butt so he decides to disengage and runs away to reset. He comes back, I kick his butt, he resets. He comes back, I kick his butt, he resets. Now…I know he IS going to come back…and by this time as a mesmer…all of my stealth abilities are on cooldown so I know I am going to die…So what do I do? This is what I do….I WP BABY!! That’s right!! I WP back to my safe area of the map. And you know what? I WON. I beat that thief 3-0 SON.

If you fight a thief and beat him so he disengages to reset the fight, just WP back. You beat him fair and square in a 1vs1 so why give him the satisfaction of killing you? He ran away which = he lost and he knows it. Most honest thieves will tell you straight up they HATE running away to reset a fight. They want to KILL you, its what makes them HAPPY haha. So when you beat them straight up and WP back, you leave them with a VERY BAD taste in their mouth. I guarantee you if everyone did this, there would be A LOT OF RAGING THIEVES haha instead of a lot of people crying “thief stealth is OP blah blah blah”.

Not only that but if you kill a thief in 1 vs 1 you KNOW he is RAGING( or at least very dissatisfied). The primary reason why he made that build is to go roam and kill people. So when you kill him, you completely obliterated his Guild Wars 2 gaming experience. Its like you sucked his soul from his body…haha j/k.

Now I understand other professions dont have access to stealth like me however most roaming thieves are ONLY GOOD FOR 1 vs 1 and small group combat. Their build is NOT viable for pve or for zergs whereas yours IS.

Do I see thieves in dungeons? NOPE. Do I see thieves in Fractals? NOPE. Do I even see thieves in champ trains??!! NOPE. Now I know there are thieves that do PVE (My main PVE toon is a thief, however if I take him to wvw, I get eaten for breakfast) but I hardly see them in comparison to other classes.

If you change the way a thief can now use stealth, the class wont be as fearsome in 1 vs 1 duels or roaming….and really that is the ONLY thing thieves can claim as what separates their class from the rest.

So in summary, STOP THE HATE. I wish more people were open minded instead of being like “OMG he got INIFINITES stealth so thief is OP and stealth mechanic is BROKEN.” It’s like 1) Take off your diapers 2) Put your man pants on & 3) Either make a build to L2P to kill him or realize the limitations of his build and move on.

I even put it into a simple math equation for those of you who didn’t want to read all this:

Most roaming thiefs builds = horrible in zergs and pve which = thief class not OP and stealth mechanic NOT broken which = STOP THE HATE.

( I know that is probably the worst equation ever haha but now I’m going to eat some cookies )

Your proposed version of fun: Multiple groups of minimal 30+ people roaming around in all areas of the map. You can either join a group and spam #1 like crazy and pray you hit everything or you can step outside and get run over by a group.

My version of fun: Solo roam around the map and win a 1vs3. Join up with a 5 man havoc group and kill other havoc groups trying to cut off our supply to towers and keep. Solo take a tower while our zerg of 30 is in enemy territory. Being a known and trusted member of my wvw community and not just a number to a blob. Gloriously defending our upgraded towers and keep against forces 3 times our size with the “outnumbered” stat in the bottom right of our screen…holding them off just long enough until our server’s prime time gets on.

If you override my version of fun with your version of fun I will ip bomb your router and make it so your computer sounds like Skrillex’s newest release when you boot it up

P.S. The “majority” you refer to who will enjoy large scale conflicts 24/7 are already on the upper tiers. We who have decided to stay on the lower tiers are here by choice. Most of us are here not because of “server loyality” but because we receive more reward with a smaller community. And clearly Anet supports the diversity of wvw. That is why we have a Gold, Silver and Bronze league…or else we would just have one league for all.

Hey guys just a quick question, does phantasmal haste (I think that is how you say it) work on all phantoms? I heard it does not work on some like the beserker from GS but I am unsure. Has anyone tried it out on all phantoms?
