You can’t farm any more than that… so saying that adding in loot would make people farm is kind of silly…

I can see for the wurm event, though most people here are complaining about scarlet.

Sort of. One thing I can see happening with the marionette event if the mobs dropped loot like normal is that when it’s a lane’s turn to go through the gate… no one does that because they’re busy farming the mobs spawning.

From what a dev is posting in the Fractured subforum, it sounds like you use 250 to get a special additional infusion slot that will now be able to hold more than +5 AR. Those who already have an infused item will start off with +5 (so no changes). Newly infused items just get an empty slot.

well 18 lvls of Progress I loose 51 lvls of Progress so you see I loose about tripple the Progress you lost and since Progress gets harder at about 60 i’d lost tripple the effort you did run lvl 48 not for Progress but for weapon Skins otherwise you would have run uneven ones to Progress… so you absolutly got the reward you expect out of each lvl 48 run… I didn’t get the Thing I wanted I know that I can get easy fractal Skins I deserve when they open up 80 again but you see anet trolled me

Don’t assume that I run 48 for weapon skins. I don’t -want- the weapon skins. They’re piling up in my bank and I started to salvage them as a result. I’ve only used ONE of them on a whim since it looked better than my current harpoon gun at the time. By no means was I trying to actually get any of them. If I get a weapon or ring, cool. More stuff to clutter my bank. I ran and run 48 because I actually enjoy it.

That said, with skins supposedly beginning to drop at level 10 now, who’s to say they won’t have an increased drop rate at the new lv 30+ anyway?

Recently, there have been a few moments where audio will stop working. My laptop is still able to play sound normally through other programs, however, most of the sound effects in game will mute. Only one element of the background ambient will continue to play, but there are no vocals or other sound effects. Attempting to alter sound settings will not cause anything to change. The ambient noise will continue to persist in loading screens as well.

The only way to fix this currently, is to restart my client.

Somewhat to my surprise, I spotted these two at one of the offshoot events in kessex. They were assisting with the whisper demolition version of the offshoot. However, after the event was over, they ran off too soon for me to see what they had to say. I also haven’t managed to spot them again since then.

Has anyone else managed to see them? If so did you catch what they say, if anything?

I got the game back up and running now, though for the future, figuring out how to get the -repair function to work would save some time.

It’s not reporting any problems.

That’s the target, yeah. However, it never shows any files being checked.

As far as the graphics options go, it was working fine last night. I did still try turning it down all the way and it still ended up crashing.

I’m currently having trouble getting past the character select screen. I’ve tried to do the -repair but it doesn’t seem to work on windows 8. For now I’ll just try redownloading the whole game but considering the file is now 17 gb, I’d rather know how to get the -repair to work in the future.

When I try, it simply opens up the launcher normally.

What amused me was once Dulfy dropped a support reminder during a fractal run. I had to wonder how she managed to get that, and why an ascalonian from around the time of the searing would be voting for Evon? …As well as how the heck she managed to get a hold of that in the first place.

Just out of curiosity, Satzu, does this mean you do not want a return to Elona as well? Granted, the only real thing with Elonian influences is the Ossan quarter, in the Reach.

No mention of the actual dragon festival, but did you guys see the Dragon’s Jade shield? Between the use of jade (for the other weapons. Not sure if the shield has any jade in it) and the fact that it uses an eastern dragon as a part of its design, it does have a Canthan-y feel. At least I think so.

You get scaled up. Though you may still have some trouble due to not having as many trait points/better gear/ect.

Heartseeker has a way shorter range.
Infiltrator’s strike requires a target to use else you just shadowstep in place last I recall (It’s been awhile since I’ve used sword).
…Also thief weapon skills don’t have a cooldown in the first place. The better mobility skills would be infiltrator’s arrow which has a high initiative cost and Shadowstep, which already has a 40 second cooldown.

I dumped gold on this because I like fire. That, and just yesterday I was running around one map and ran out of both my sickle and ax with no nearby vendors that sold higher leveled tools (I don’t like to grab the lower ones since I tend to forget which ones I have equipped.. leading to ruined gathers), and I didn’t want to waypoint just to grab new ones. One thought I had during that was along the lines of, “Well at least I can’t run out of my pick too.”

Factions was the first GW game that I got, and it was the only one of the group I had for many years, so Cantha definitely has a very special place in my heart. I seriously hope that one day we’ll be able to explore it once more. I want to see how things have changed within the past 250 years!

They have indeed, begun construction of the refugee settlement in Southsun. I was there to go harvest some passion fruit and noticed a number of workers building things around Kiel’s Outpost Waypoint. Subdirector Noll seems to be overlooking it.

But, that’s the thing, there wasn’t ANY jump between the two EXCEPT in terms of aesthetics… I’m still unsure why ascended gear was deemed necessary and his post does not explain anything except that there most likely WILL be more tiers of gear coming… just not every 3 months. That doesn’t dispel any worries.

I never doubted that the new gear would be “difficult” to get and I don’t believe that is the concern behind their introduction. The concern is that there will be gear progression from now on and it is an upsetting change in philosophy.

Personally, I’m glad that there is new content so soon, but higher level of stats is not the same as new content. It is quite possible for new content to exist without any change in stats.

I think the gap is more about how easy/hard it is to get vs stats/aesthetics. Most exotics are fairly easy to acquire or don’t take that long to get, where the legendaries (without help) take A LOT of time, materials, and effort to get everything you need to make them. My guess this bridge is more for something that’s generally harder/takes more effort than an exotic while less than what you’d need for a legendary. Some exotic pieces you can get for like 1 or 2 gold a pop and all.

That said, while this post did ease my worries a bit, I’m still a little anxious about the whole thing. I was never flipping tables over the announcements and am willing to see how this plays out, but I am definitely still a little nervous about how things may turn out. It’s too hard to say for certain how things will end up at this point when we don’t have the update live yet.

There was one small thing later in the personal story.
When going into the Cathedral of Silence and dealing with the Reaper of Grenth and talking to one of the NPC's on the side. There was one option where she said something like "You were always one of his best followers" in response. I'm assuming that one little option/answer is only for people who picked Grenth. I'm not 100% sure, but it definitely shouldn't show up for non-human characters since that'd make even less sense..

I submitted this in game… but I was wondering if anything like this happened to anyone else or if this was just some sort of freak incident.

It was during the event to take back Brassclaw island at the Straights of Devastation. Or to be specific, the end of it. One of the necro risen was using a channeled skill – the one with the biting animation and I tried to dodge away. At that moment the event failed. And in that same moment I was launched into the air. It wasn’t the effect, launch. I was literally sent flying upwards. If you’re familiar with the Skyrim bug where giants could send characters skyhigh… it was kind of like that. At that time I was close to full hp, but once I hit the ground I died. My armor wasn’t damaged upon returning to a waypoint so it was definitely fall damage that had killed me.

Most tonics, I know don’t have anything you can really do when you use them aside from running around. Earlier today I used an eagle raptor tonic and noticed an extra skill in my skillbar. Reading it, the thing said it was a screech to scare ambient creatures. Curious what it would do, I went to find a rabbit to test it on. I thought it would flee after using the skill.

Nope.

I apparently scared it to death. And then went around to continue slaughtering all little critters I ran across in that area.

Alright, thanks for the info. I’ve pretty much only have found the pile of _ essences and then like.. one destroyer sliver but couldn’t remember where I had gotten that piece.

I had asked this in the players helping players earlier but now that the crafting section is open it might be easier to find answers here.

Do the rare crafting materials (specifically crystal, molten, and destroyer cores) drop anywhere in specific or from certain mobs? Or can they drop more or less anywhere in the level appropriate zone for the tier?

So they drop anywhere then? In the proper level appropriate zones for the type?

Specifically the crystal core, molten core, and destroyer cores? Though knowledge of where the others drop would be good too. I haven’t really even found any of the lower tiered versions of these with exception of the pile of _ essences now and then.

It’s like this for me. Well, it’s like that for the sell and transactions pages only. The other parts of it is fine, but for those two tabs, it’s blank.

It’s not the only one. One event in Lornar’s pass – hunting the Jotun or something like that has a chest at the end that the npc reveals but it wasn’t lootable.

Made a slight edit for a thing I just noticed.

I could have sworn before that when completing a renown heart, I received karma. Now it doesn’t seem to be the case. I have also heard that helping someone else with their personal story is supposed to give karma but I hadn’t seen anything of the like when helping my friends out with their various chapters. For both cases, is it supposed to be like this or is there supposed to be karma given out upon completion?

I’ve still been getting it for dynamic events so there’s that at least.

Edit – I just helped out a lower level friend with her personal story and got karma for ‘Breaking the Blade’. Prior to that I was helping out a high level friend with ‘the sound of psi-lance’ and didn’t receive any there.
