Not to sound snide, but there are a million and one different threads pertaining to this issue. The 2 best options are to;
A: Try any and all professions to see what you like
B: Have a flick through the profession sub forums to see what’s happening in each professions’ world

Well, given that LA and what ever Charr area you were in are 2 different maps, it makes perfect sense. Map chat is not worldwide, it only broadcasts in the area you are in.

But you can by your professions training manuals as you progress in lvls. Each time you use on, it resets all your points to distribute as you see fit.

To clarify, DO NOT buy manuals if you wish to reset your traits. Select the option under that to reset your traits whenever you want. Believe it costs 10 copper per trait point used.

I suppose if you have the gold, you could just craft your way there. Be 80 in a few hours doing that. And quite broke.

Let’s just make a quick comparison here:
- going to the movies with your girlfriend costs 2×7 euros for tickets + 2×7 euros for snacks which totals up to around 28 euros. It was a bad movie and your girlfriend dumps you 2 weeks later. 28 euros down the toilet. This is the main reason I don’t like going to the movies.

- my girlfriend on the other hand bought me a 28 euro gem card last week. I could deck out my alt in full exotics, get a craft up to 400 and get another bank slot. In fact, I did. Since full ascended armor won’t come any time soon, and take time to get, this 28 euros lasts for months if not years (not to mention I love my girlfriend even more for supporting my favourite game).

While this may be apples and oranges, I do see a clear 28 euros for 1.5 hours of a puppy movie compared to 28 euros for months and months of fun in a game. I’m not an economist like John Smith but I’d still call the gems the better investment.

I had no intention of buying gems to convert to gold, but this analogy makes a lot of sense. You sir, have convinced me.

In reference to thread title, I disagree. Some fine tuning may be needed, but I find the current system satisfactory. I think that before any adjustment is made to down scaling, all profession bugs should be eliminated

Ok. I’m just trying to get an idea of how much it would cost, to see if I could ever be bothered working towards one. So the barest minimum $ amount needed would be 120g, with all other item able to be obtained by farming, albeit over a few months?

I did borrow about 28g (was unpatient :P) at the end but I did farm or collect all the material myself. Cant tell you the exact price because I collected a lot of material instead of buying it.

And to by honest I dont count the gold it costed but the time I put in But ye It was worth it, for me atleast.

So about 28 gold and a few months farming? So why are there all these other posts about hundreds of gold required? Not to diminish your achievement, but to me, right now and (quite likely) uninformed, it appears not to difficult to get?

It is still possible to put in buy orders for account bound items but they will never be filled. The 600g listings you see are just people trying to show off how much money they have, probably. If you search the BLTC section of the forum you’ll see threads mentioning similar things for Pears and Lemons.

In other words, don’t waste your karma.

This may also be how gold is transferred if bought from a 3rd party

If you run a condition heavy Scepter/dagger Necro you will have 0 issues in a pve environment. Massive AoE bleeds and snares = many dead mobs. Forego any type of minion, go with BiP, Epidemic, spectral walk and lich or plague for elite. Use consume condition heal and you will win.

And you were right to stay out of the necro forums, so many negative Nancy’s in there.

This doesn’t really fall under point 2, but the tier 1 helm looks pretty cool

I don’t agree with bumping threads. If the unwashed masses or the mods or devs have something they wish to say in your thread, they will. Usually within a few hours at most.

Are there any mice similar to the Naga (with oodles of side buttons) out there? I have monstrous hands and the Naga is way too small for me, I can only access the top two rows of buttons, and that’s doing some funky yoga stuff with my thumb.

Does anyone use either of these peripherals? If so, what are they like and how are they to get used to?

If you mosey on over to the actual professions section and have a browse through there, you’ll see that every profession is broken and useless according to the muppets who play them. So, listening to these people may not be the best idea.

I usually ask the scum sucking gold seller/poor hacked dude to send me more. The rate I’m getting these emails, I’ll be a very rich man by 80.

Why would you want to play what I think you should play? Why wouldn’t you play what you want to play? Maybe you could read over the other thousand threads on “what should I play”. I have an idea. Why don’t you try some other professions, and if you like it, keep playing it!

The waypoint is located in the underground passage you transit through in the tutorial (start) of the game. Just go back there. There is an entrance just south of where the waypoint indicates on the map

What they said above. It doesn’t show them on the minimap, but on your screen all mobs, critters and nodes will have their names above their heads, showing you where they’re at. Just press and hold CTRL

I’d go with bank slots, can never have too many of them, and extra toon slots, for just in case you want one of each. Deluxe edition as well, that way you get a free skill at 30. Since you’re looking to spend serious coin, why not splurge and buy some social clothing?

Sometimes I can’t keep up with all the terminologies you young bucks are using these days. Is gear grind/gear treadmill the system of doing dungeons/raids to obtain better gear to do the next tier of dungeons/raids?

Little ^ above the empty slot. Click that, a menu of abilities will appear. Ones you can use will be coloured, ones that you have not yet bought will be greyed out. Just click on the colour ones.

Ctrl+right click on ability 1 (or any of them) will also turn off your auto attack

That would be awesome, but due to how good grenades are, you would get people crying nerf. But a Cast on Target ability for AoE would be very cool indeed.
