HoT is just like Eye of the North Xpack in guild wars 1
masteries are very similiar to the titles tracks like the ebon vangaurd one for more damage against charr, others like +100health in norn land is just like the ones making you better in jungle land.
and specilisations are like how eye of the north added lotsa of pve only skills, or how it just added more class skills in general.
plus the expansions added inscriptions and things whereas the base game just had preselected stats on items.
and the expansions added heros which were incredibly useful if you had no friends

you get a new class, and specializations+skins, the’re fun ive been having a lot of fun with reaper in pvp.
90% of my play is pvp
the thing is how often do you play pvp? how long would you be playing elite specs? how much would that be an hour over the course of a year or your playtime? like 1cent? imo thats pretty worth it to have stability on my necro :p
if not then just play without the specilisations and you’l have a bit more limited build choice, or you could wait a year till xpack costs like 20 or 30 dolars or somthing

yeah your not forced as broken glass said scepter and staff have skills that are further then 600, you also have the option of throwing symbols and traps down and running away.
by your logic reaper is forced to use chill, they have traits that work off it and by not taking it those are somewhat useless, theres tons of minor traits that you need to be speced into.

Theres no way for internet from across half the globe to stop sucking, its physically impossible for the pings to get around any faster unless somebody invents teleporters, even fibre optics does nothing for ping.
as a fellow aussie the ping hurts, i’d like to see more stuff happening client side
im in NA server tho so mines about 250-300 a bit more tolerable than yours

mmm i feel like chilling nova should just proc on crits, not crits on chilled enemies.
slow would be fun but i dont think necesary.
that said i dont think theres anything wrong with gs now, youve got quite a few chill options, i was actually able to hit people in pvp with gs this beta.
you can use gs 5 to chill, or use staff and either fear 5 with fear chill or 3 chillblains to chill stuff while your running into melee range.
or you can use suffer since that also chills, or theres chilled to the bone.
you’ve also got fear in ds and executioners for an ice field.
theres quite a lot of opening chills, and depending on your trait set up you can have chills on blinds or use things like dagger immob or warhorn cripple.
the great thing about reaper is necro isnt all about pressing 1 anymore, 1 shouldnt be the highest dps skill you have.

i agree completly about greatsword as does virtualy every other person whos tried reaper, its so incredibly slow and the damage is really low aswell, at its current speed it needs to be about double damage…its reeeeeaaaally slow…. you should try it in pvp you cant even hit people with it.
its also got really poor life force generation and control so it doesnt even work well for seting up reapers shroud, melee greatsword and melee shroud really dont blend together, it doesnt make a lot of sense having both.
you are all weaklings and chilled to the bone are perfect
i think your soul is mine could use a small buff (4k out of 25k is not really a heal)
the other shouts are useless

A real concern to me plus feedback.

everyones just making a big deal about it, its not that tough, its mostly spurred on by people who are used to really easy pve content running full zerker gear and not bothering to use other survival methods like dodging or anything like that.
also much easier when you have a party/friends/guild helping you out, a lot of the classes got tons of supportive stuff.

This would be really nice if there were more options to support the minions, all the supports are max 5 targets, and its a bit of a waste on minions when theres other players around.
would be cool if anet added a trait where your boons are copied to minions or somthing like that.
I really loved minions in guild wars 1….

yeah its dodgey greatsword and reaper shroud accomplish the same tasks except reaper does it better.
I think they need to make the greatsword a burst/control weapon, give it a DECENT aoe pull on a low cooldown, and more burst damage and life force gen like a melee version of axe 2.
that way reaper can pull all the targets to them, put down a quick burst for lf and damage then jump in shroud and hit them.

augury of death: i dont really like the scaling off multiple enemies, makes reapers even worse vs bosses and pvp. i think this would work better as a flat 20% recharge and a fun shout effect like steal 3% lf per target hit or somthing.
chiling nova: definitly needs a buff once every 15 secs? for a little damage and chill?
relentless pursuit: not all that useful, necros got plenty of cond removal and its only a time reduction.
all the middle range traits were really good i found, i really like decimate defenses, the cooldown reduction on souleater seems useless to me but the lifesteal has potential i think.
I felt the grandmasters were all pretty lackluster
deathly chill: pretty useless 200damage? barely anything, this should be 400 on application in addition to tick damage, then multiple chills would have some damage.
blighters boon: pretty situational, to really make use of this i ended up just spamming all the might, since thats really the only boon necro can access, i can only imagine what i would be geting up to if it werent for the 25 cap.
reapers onslaught: this is a little bit weak, if you compare it to death perception what is essentially +50% damage helping with all your on crit buffs, onslaught does seem pretty lackluster. i think perhaps 30% would be fair, its really just a straight buff tho so its not as fun as blighters boon or what deathly chills COULD be.

I have to agree, it is REALLY slow and the damage just isnt out there
especially when you consider multi hits are so much more effective coz its more chances for crits=more on crit bonuses, plus against blinds,aegis etc if you do 2 hits for 50% damage each, against say aegis you still get 1 hit in.
also dagger 1 has the life force gain, greatsword has next to none life force gain, which it really should, death shroud is insanely better then greatsword so much faster,so much more damage and so much….. harder to get into, i found it much more useful to use things like axe 2 for that confirmed 12% life force and soul marks so i can shroud more as gs is just so useless.
great sword could also definitely benefit from some more range, i mean people are just like ooh massive wind up to hit, let me just take 1 step backwards where that humongous weapon cant quite reach me, 5 is also such a short range pull that’s so hard to use. i feel like the 3 drill skill should be like 600 range just so i cant be perma kited while using gs.

As a lot of other people have mentioned, reaper shroud is great!
gs is ok in pve, but in pvp i found it sorely lacking.
I found the chill concept to be pretty weak, as a condition in pvp its so easily removable and chill has fairly short duration’s , i feel like it might be better as immobilize or a buffed cripple effect. Deathly chill really does barely any damage IMO and also chill doesn’t stack in intensity so its really just this long term maybe you’l do a little more damage kinda thing should do additional damage on application so multiple chills deal a decent bit of damage. chilling nova has a way too big CD for it to be useful as well for a short damage and chill effect.
I had a lot of difficulties using the reaper cc’s effectively, with stun breaks and cond removers and stability they were just way too counterable compared to just having a gap closer which also helps so much with travel times across pvp maps, shroud 2 kind of helps but i found it very annoying that it traveled past your target rather then stopping at them so you can hit them. i found greatsword 5 pretty hard to land given the distance of it especialy compared to the pulls on other classes like gaurdians, the long cd was also pretty painful maybe drop the cd on it and and put the lf somewhere else like gravedigger?
As a lot of other people said, the shouts need a major rework the elite is great!
the heal is good in pve i found as damage+lf=shroud=more damage but in pve it suffers the scaling issue, vs 1 or 2 targets its so little life force gain, and your giving up consumes massive cond cleanse&heal, seriously it takes 6 uses of the shout heal to fully heal me.
“rise” the jaggeds are way too weak, either jaggeds need buffing or necros need a way to make hem useful, maybe if it summoned 5 jaggeds+1 per target?
“suffer” this just seems like a really weak version of plague signet.
“you are all weaklings” I found this pretty useful, especially in pve.
“nothing can save you”pretty useless necro already has a TON of boon CORRUPTION and removal, already lots of vulnerability skills and staff marks are unblockeable so this shout really does barely anything.
Augury of death just adds to the shouts weaknesses, i think it should have a base 20% reduction and like 3% steal life force from each target or something, maybe stability to cover their cast times, its weird its so easy to interrupt someone yelling stuff.
the whole scaling off multiple enemies concept doesn’t work well in pvp, the benefits are way too weak for them to help in group fights and 1v1 you get no scaling making them very weak. I feel like if they got buffed up tho then reaper would still be weak 1v1 and become op in group fights they need their base effects raised and their scaling tweaked maybe if they did their full effects and just their damage scaled or you gained life force against additional foes.

BUNKERS! its bullkitten! its pvp (player bs player) not player futily not hurting other play who holds the point with his team, who occasionaly gets a few kills on your team.
theres way too many tank/self heals on guardians and eles.
i understand their support and ave durable options but its too far in pvp they need to be nerfed.
swap out there defensive skills for more damage skills.
OR
add a feature where protection/regen/aegis last half as long within 5 metres of a point.or somthing similar, maybe extra damage in points?

solution, use corrupt boon, well of corruption has along recharge and it wont get all the boons.
use plague signet, a) its a stun breaker b) all their conds go to them and with ur cond damage it will hurt more.
i think signet of locust is pretty useless, 25% move speed? no mutch help and neithers the life steal, instead of signet of undeath use grasbing pull if you use it every time it recharges you get 10% life force every 30 sec, whereas the signet will get 9% also the pull chills them.
also agaisnt thiefs use your staff place marks on ground to get invisibles.

Hey, my ISP is iprimus adsl2+ aswell and I live in Tasmania, sea of sorrows server.
I am geting a lot of lagging and dcing from 7pm to 9pm mostly somtimes it goes right up till 11pm. I dont have any problems outside these times.
If i go on speedtest i get a ping the same (give or take maybe 10ms) during this time as any other time.
No one else I know seems to get this lag ingame, and yet my internet seems to be fine during this time with things outside gws2.
So I have no idea what to do? seems like my isp doesnt like gws2 at this time….
