naw i realized it after few purchase, but i was like to heIl with it, and just go full in until i get that achievement of opening 100. But I am 90% certain they change the drop rates in trail version to suck people in, i never gamble before so i don’t really know much about it and was dumb to fall for this… not gonna lie, losing 2k destroyed my hype for the expansion and dont even feel like playing this game anymore. I hope other dont fall for this, especially new players or people use actual money for gold.

So in the trial version there is a ecto gambling merchant. If you gamble, you win rate is high off the chart. I think they purposely increase the chance of wining to get people to gamble. Then you go gamble for real, your luck will take a completely turn!

In trail: Earn 3k of gold and never really lost any in 10 mins.

In reality: Lost 2k of gold, and its a constant lose streak in 10 mins.

They pull a dirty trick to get people to ecto gamble.

So please people who never gamble, let this be a warning for you. Dont ecto gamble!!

you can play cdruid instead of the niche magi thing so your dps has a lot to do with it

If can show me u can pug a full squad, you as the only healer but you are a condi druid, still manage to get a kill. What are the chance of that?

As I was next to the toilet in LA, I look around and realize I really missed the old LA.. even the broken one! This new version is so freaking flat and theme park! It doesn’t feel like a city!! killing a player is 10 mins. WOW! Really should consider spawn camping now. As for the the players who dies and respawn, good luck getting through to an objective to hold your participation without being jumped by few thieves.

Reward system still the same before update, because the update was not intended to draw more player base. It is to give those “neglected” vets for all their hours of supporting wvw. So yeah, after few weeks newbies notice it will actually take way to long to get any meaningful reward they will leave, before update wvw is dying, this just slowed down the process a bit.

"Death" in WvW should be more significant.

I really think when a player die in WvW there should be some waiting time before he can wp back again. Maybe like a 1 minute delay before you can wp back to spawn. The reason I think this is better idea because it give death more penalty, especially during a squad fight people will consider more tactically instead of just charging in and die and instantly wp and run back less in a minute. I seen so many more organized squad winning a fight wiping half of enemy but eventually lost because they are close to enemy spawn point. This will make winning and losing larger squad fight more skill base significant, because losing will actually require the squad to regroup and organize before moving out instead of just keep spawning like waves of zombies. Also this makes reviving people more meaningful and can actually be part important part in after battle. Any thoughts on this?

I reccomend teq for u instead of wvw.

I would if killing teq 1000 times give me more advantage over loot per kill than any 1st timer would. for example, because i have kill teq 1000 times, from that point on i should get 28 dragon chests per kill from now on, while any first timer teq player should still get only that 4 dragon chests. But unfortunately currently kill teq only reward you 4 dragon chests, does not matter if you are new or vet to this world boss that why seeing the awesome wvw reward i really think the concept of this reward system should be promoted to all aspect of game

It’s hardly a huge bonus. Why are you so bitter that players that stuck by wvw have been proportionally rewarded for their efforts? Where is your sense of fair play? By the way, you two can earn These Rewards And More if you play the game.

I am not bitter, i think its a great system for people who stuck by certain game mode being proportionally rewarded for their efforts. That is why i think its great idea to implement this system to all reward, or at least as much as possible. For example a high level pvp player should always get more pips toward their reward track than a lower level pvp player who is new, even if they are in the same match, same team, but because the higher level pvp player have stuck by pvp for so long they deserve more pips. I mean I am a dragon rank in pvp, I just dont think its fair for some player who previously only do wvw and are level 1 in pvp, coming in pvp and earn the same amount of pips as I do. Its the same concept with wvw pip reward system. All I am asking for the same type of reward for other game mode also.

Isn’t this what happens due to account AP rewards for magic find and such?

gold drop by mobs are at the point of coopers, so its at the point it dont matter, i mean i dont mind reducing my gold drop to 0% if they balance the wvw pip reward and magic find is not determine by ap… you can have super low ap but still have full magic find

If fractal reward really work as wvw reward, then fractal reward chest should be base on on levels. example would be level 100 should get more daily chest than lower level, even if he only do T1. That is what wvw pip is at.

First off, you seem to have forgotten, I said about T4 fractals the person is getting carried. A new player to fractals cannot even open a T4 fractal.

Second, your comparison is extremely bad. The wvw pip bonus does not give extra daily chests. It is same number of chests attainable for less playtime, analogous to getting all four daily fractal chests for one fractal’s worth of playtime.

my fractal level is not 100 and i have been doing T4 everyday for the pass 2 week and is currently only at level 51, how am i getting carry, i am not dying and i provide my dps. I still get same stuff as level fractal 100. As for you cant open level 100, you are right, but you can ask or join other who can, my reward is not depended on my level but instead on if i am able to complete the high level fractal. And you are right, wvw does not give extra daily chest for higher level, but u know what it does give to people, extra dailes pips. there are 288 tick and if u are new, the max you can get is set in stone, while with high level you get way more pips.

You’re mincing words. Levels represents what players have completed in WvW. It is like saying level 1 players should get exotic level 80 drops because otherwise is unfair.

Vet Dungeon players: Get more Dungeon tokens and gold than new players per run.
Vet Raider: Get more few times more legendary insights per boss kill than new players.
Vet PvPer: Get more reward progress and pips per win than new players.

The game already is like that. T4 fractal dailies give more rewards to those who have put time into getting the AR, etc. because you can get all the T1-T4 daily reward chests for a quarter amount of the time than someone who can only do T1 dailies.

There is nothing unfair about this because players can invest the time to that particular section of this game in the same manner as those who have gone before them and also get increased rewards.

You are right about T4 gets more than T1, but that is different because its due to lack of gears or lack of skill to participate in T4. The thing is even if you are fractal level 1, if you are able to complete a T4, you will receive the same chest as those who are fractal level 100! The reward are depend on the your ability to complete certain things, not depend on how much previously time you have spend on fractal! Basically if you can be level 1, but if you are able to do the same thing as a high fractal level player, you will receive the same reward! And the opposite goes for high level fractal players, you can be level fractal 100, but if you only do T1, you will only get T1 loot! This is completely different for wvw pip reward system. You can tag up and participate in every fight on map and get a T6 participation, but you will never get more than someone who is high level and are afking majority of the time!

With the recent wvw reward update how you earn more pips base on wvw rank, I think anet should consider making some changes in all reward aspects of the game.

For PvP
I was surprise at the recent wvw update that how your wvw rank effect how much reward pips you get. So to be fair, I think vet pvp player should get more pips base on their rank also. So the higher your pvp rank are, you should get bonus pips per game. I think that is fair since this system is integrated in wvw.

For Raid
Vet raider should get few times more Legendary Insights and rewards per boss kill than new player who are coming to raid, after all, new raider haven’t spend the time and effort and being loyal to raid so why should they get same reward as vet raider?

For Dungeon or Fractals
Vet runner should get 2X or 3X the dungeon tokens and gold per run than newbies. Its just not fair why should new players who never run dungeons or fractal get the same reward(for doing the same thing as vet) as someone who has always been loyal to daily dungeon/fractal run god???!!!!

For Vet resource node farmer
They should get more material per “F” because.. well.. they been mindlessly farming for materials so we can have cheaper materials on TP to craft all the goodies we need. So a new player who just pick up a Harvesting sickle, Logging axe, or Mining pick should not get the same amount of material per “F” than the loyal veteran, hardworking resource node farmer.

For AFK farmer
Not as hardworking as our resource node farmers, but still, I think anet should increase drops for the the vet afk farmers or at least spawn more mobs near them to reward their loyalty. New afk farmer should not get the same amount of drops or rewards than an experienced afk farmer.

There are alot more thing such as JP runner and all that but the main point is with how the new awesome and fair wvw pip reward system works, we should implement this system which give vet player(in their field of profession and experience) prestigious rewards for being loyal and previously time commitment they spend than those who are new in business. If you have any more ideas on certain rewards that I have not mention, let me know. Together as vet players of guild wars 2, we should demand prestigious rewards for being loyal and for the large amount time spend on this game, we will put new players in their place! They should spend 7 times the effort or 7 times slower to get the same reward as we do! We will make this a better game for all vets and drive away those new players, who was never supporting the game in the beginning!

The people who are complaining about higher pips for veterans have crab mentality. It doesn’t affect your ability to progress in the reward track yet you are trying to pull down those that are going faster than you. The wvw vets are finally getting some reward for being loyal all these years. What’s funny is, I for one don’t even have a burning desire to get the shinies that fast. Most vets have already invested in the gear that they need and will just continue to play the mode that they enjoy.

You don’t really get it do you, this is the an unfair reward system in game that is not balance at all. Being loyal to certain game play give more or faster reward is stupidly unfair. If rest of the game is like this then imaging the reward system like this:

Vet Dungeon players: Get more Dungeon tokens and gold than new players per run.
Vet Raider: Get more few times more legendary insights per boss kill than new players.
Vet PvPer: Get more reward progress and pips per win than new players.

You see the point is this is the only reward system that Vet gets more reward than new players for doing the same exact thing… If you are new raider, killing a boss will give you the exact reward then people who kill it hundred times. Same thing goes for rest of the game.

Lets look at the time required to get to rank 2000 compared to the time required to craft the gear yourself. WvWrs have been looking for a way to get their hands on Ascended armor/weapons, only to be given a means that far far exceeds what is expected in the PvErs world.

a scale for T1 to T3 such as Rank 250 – Rank 500 – Rank 1000, would be better. This would still required time and effort in WvW to obtain, and be more, “Feasible” for newcomers to work towards.

Because in the end, isn’t one of the reason for these rewards, gear, back-item, to get more people into WvW? Is that not a good thing, I would think so.

This is exactly how I feel, When I logged on and saw the armor, I got all excited like wow I’m gonna go play wvw and I’m sure the reward will be reasonable to get like every other reward in the game. Then when I saw that it was rank 2k I felt a sinking feeling like really? Instead of wanting to play wvw and earn the reward i felt frustrated and repulsed about the entire game.

So before the new rewards you were not interested in WvW and now when some of the rewards are too difficult to get you are still not interested….

Sounds like everything works as intended. If you like WvW you will get the shiny eventually. If you don’t, you don’t.

Whats the point of new reward system if its time gated to the point its almost impossible to get for new player? As for old wvw players, like you said, if you really like wvw, then with or without reward doesn’t really matter. anet should just scrap the entire thing. wvw should just stay the same before the patch.

ty for the sheet, this actually help to see how many hours needed to reach certain chest instead of all chests. Anyway, Its just unrealistic for people sliver and below to get through all the chests in a week. unless they really don’t have responsibilities in life

anet really need to increase the tickets a little higher or else I dont think i will even bother with wvw, i think most new players will leave after they realize the reward is just not realistic to them

Only 175 tickets for all skirmish reward track!? It will take freaking forever even to get the precursor back-piece! That if you get those 175 tickets every week before it reset! While the pvp back-piece precursor only require 100 pvp tickets… that one time through the reward track to get all 100 pvp tickets, you can do that in a week. Why the freaking long time differences in getting the two???!!!

I’ve looked around and can not find the answer.

Does it work like the reward track? With the reward track, there is no hurry ( well unless its a timed one ) Take your time and eventually you will get it.

Do the pip chest get reset after a period of time? For instance I’m on the bronze chest. Do I need to hurry to get to the diamond chest or whatever, or can I take my time?

I think it reset weekly.

So i thought it will be interesting to see how many hours it takes each week to finish all the skirmish reward (the 175 tickets). So i did some math for those who hate math

1) How many ticks do we have if we have a tick every 5 minutes?

12 per hour, 288 per day, 2016 per week.

2) How many pips do we need to get all skirmish reward?

1450 pips.

So in a week you have 2016 ticks to get 1450 pips, which seems like a good number. But please see below for the actual time you need to play in order to get all 1450 pips.

There are 168 hours in a week, if you earn average of-

1 pip per tick : you will need 121 hours. 17 hours a day (super unlucky newbies in the worst server, I do recommend you server hop)
2 pip per tick : you will need 60 hours – 9 hours a day (playing gw2 wvw is your job)
3 pip per tick : you will need 40 hours (this is where most new and Bronze WvW Rank are at) – 5 to 6 hours a day
4 pip per tick : you will need 30 hours – 4 hours a day (Bronze WvW Rank)
5 pip per tick : you will need 24 hours – 3.5 hours a day (Silver WvW Rank)
6 pip per tick : you will need 20 hours – 3 hours a day (Silver WvW Rank)
7 pip per tick : you will need 17 hours – 2.5 hours a day (Gold WvW Rank)
8 pip per tick : you will need 15 hours – 2 hours a day (Platinum WvW Rank)
9 pip per tick : you will need 13.5 hours – 1.9 hours a day (Mithril WvW Rank)
10 pip per tick : you will need 12 hours – 1.7 hours a day (Diamond WvW Rank)
11 pip per tick : you will need 11 hours – 1.5 hours a day (Max WvW Rank) (WvW God)

(average of 12+ more pip is not realistic for most players so not gonna add it. The WVW Rank is an estimated average, it might be slightly different to if you are commander, time when you are outnumber, and placement of your server. Also after 3 week if you earn your loyalty pip give yourself an extra pip.)

Thanks for all of the replies everyone, they were definitely helpful. I’m not to worried about difficulty in games (I’ve beaten all of the Souls games multiple times), so if anything that makes it sound a little more enticing.

I got the game back when it originally released as a gift but never played it due to the fact that I had a crappy laptop, but I’ve built a PC and I have been making my way through backlog and came across this game. So far I’m about 13 hours in and I’m at lvl 26 and really enjoying it.

If anyone has any advice on looking for a guild or people to play with I’m open for suggestions. Thanks for the advice on HoT, I will be getting it soon.

If you want to LF a guild pm me US server, and I would suggest you wait until level 80 before getting hot since all hot content are for 80s player. However you do get level 80 boost if you choose to buy hot but it kinda ruins the experience if you use it on your first character.

Hard to put all in a paragraph that’s in new since HOT release but here are a list.

8 new beautiful maps plus 2 more are guildhall.
176 mastery level you will need to catch up and that will take awhile.
Few fractals are redesign and new one are added, daily reward are great for fractal.
4 wings of raid with total of about 13 main (include the new patch that’s coming out) encounter.
Wvw is a lot more balance but reward is still kinda suckie.
Rank spvp just ended, reward are great compare to before.

These are some of the few things and it’s just way to much to type all of them out.

What’s the point of having 25 minions limits now? Is the necromancer even capable of getting close to that number? Before we can reach 25 in some situation because of adrenaline mushroom. But now is there anyway possible to get to 25? If so how?

my suggestion, if you have that much money in the first place, is to gamble ectos and get the tarrktun personal delivery portal. I have it in my shared inventory slot, and it doesnt spawn an npc, just opens a window to gamble and sell items

I have both contracts and it is very inconvenient and seem like a design flaw that i am unable to use both contracts at the same time. Since using the contract would spawn a NPC i would need to wait 5 minutes or move to another map in order to use my other contract… this seem like a flawed design for items that are that expensive.

My suggestion is just dont spawn the NPC since its useless because other players cant even use it. Make both contracts like the Permanent Bank Access Express where you just open the panel straight away. Please consider fixing this anet.
