That’s odd. I do have a fairly decent computer so perhaps that’s helping to buffer the issue other’s are experiencing? I rarely wvw these days, almost always in spvp.
I hadn’t heard anything about it in the forums/reddit, so I was pleasantly surprised to find that the game feels -significantly- smoother after the patch. I play from Australia, so I’ve become familiar with a small delay on abilities but after the patch I’ve noticed the game feels much better. Weapon stowing and abilities like blink and phase retreating forward feel so much quicker and less jittery.
Is it just me or was there some significant optimisation in the patch? maybe even just connection optimisations which help out people further from the servers?
league had numerous dc issues even when it was the most viewed esport in the world. sure the gw2 match probably should have been restarted, but you need to set boundaries somewhere, and once theyre set you need to stick by them. league ran into the EXACT same issue.

Can it fail if you have no conditions?
No, but it will fail if the enemy evades or is invulnerable

Players are pretty smart. Let’s talk about the recent addition of healing skills. People had predicted rightly that the Mesmer’s signet would get a lot of use, even before the patch was live.
Except that people grossly overestimated the strength of the mesmer signet pre-patch, even Helseth thought it was better than it actually turned out to be. The only time the signet heal is worth using is in some phantasm builds and some tanky PU builds, even then its debatable whether its worthwhile.
That being said, I don’t necessarily disagree with you, i just wanted to point out that your example was incorrect.
chaos storm is bugged with confounding suggestions. the daze chance is WAY higher than it is meant to be.
Since the Dec. 10 patch warrior hammer stun has been randomly (but frequently enough to have it happen every other game with a hammer warrior) causing my character to completely lose the ability to move (WSAD and holding both mouse buttons does nothing). This happens in various SPvP maps and the only way to regain control of my character is if a warrior hammer stuns me again or I die.
Fortunately I can still use abilities and somewhat navigate using blink/phase retreat (im playing a mesmer when this bug occurs, unsure if other professions affected). unsure if this happens in WvW, I’ve only had it happen to me in SPvP.
After making a few tweaks suggested here, anything else anyone can think of?
I will be keeping a Focus in my inv, for those times it’s needed for the pull.
Looks good, I personally would change the major traits in the power line to halting strike and shattered concentration. definitely give shattered concentration a go over greatsword training.
for SPvP shatter is probably the most viable build atm, but you need to play exceptionally well to make it viable.
the traits are 20/20/0/0/30 (make sure you’re taking shattered concentration), zerker trinket, lyssa or ogre runes, and blink/portal/x utilities
is it really ok for every spec other than shatter builds to completely ignore the class mechanic (with the exception being the occasional f4)?
i dont like AI based builds, im not saying they should be completely removed, but their effectiveness is currently way too much to the point where it is overwhelming player skill.
Why are phantasms (specifically beserker, duelists, and swordsman) such a significant portion of mesmer damage?
When i heard the rumor about phantasm damage being nerfed by 20% i was overjoyed, hell it should be even more, 50% damage reduction which is redistrubuted elsewhere would be an amazing change. Phantasms require little player input and tend to reward bad players.
There’s a reason the competitive scene in gw2 is underwhelming and often mocked and a significant reason (imo) is due to AI and passive effects being too strong and resulting in low skillcaps for a lot of classes to the point where player skill has too insignificant of an impact.
I think nerfing phantasms and redistributing the damage elsewhere would go a long way in addressing this issue.
jump on the PU bandwagon like every other roaming mesmer. power (phantasm) or condi specs are both disgustingly overpowered relative to other classes roaming specs. its a low skillcap spec and isnt particularly fun but it works extremely well in small scale fights.

After completing W1 Z3 Tribulation mode and waiting through both the zone timer and the bonus round timer I still didn’t receive the related achievement for completing zone 3 tribulation mode.
As a result, world 2 tribulation mode is still locked.
W1 Z3 tribulation completed, no achievement

this just happened to me also. waited through all the timers in both z3 and the bonus round and didnt get the achievement. wouldnt even care but i cant start tribulation mode in world 2 without it apparently
have you considered removing 5 from inspiration line and going into illusionary persona? i understand youre going for a phantasm build and retaliation helps that, but it might be worth trying atleast.

when people refer to shatter builds they generally mean 0/20/0/0/30 with 20 leftover to place where it suits you. Your build is actually very close to a shatter build, you should consider moving 5pts into the illusion line for illusionary persona, which is considered one of the best traits available to a mesmer.
btw, the build you listed involves 75 traits when you only have 70 available.
if you have 15 in the power line, why not take 5 and put it into getting illusionary persona, it is much more useful and flexible than vulnerability on daze.
Bad news guys…it’s not 5 stacks of might, it’s 5 seconds of 1 stack of might…..
lets not spread lies, it’s definitely 5 stacks of might.
sorry, i should be more specific. your attacks can now bounce on clones, but staff clones still don’t get the additional bounce. i.e if you aren’t in range to receive the bounce from mirror blade it can now bounce on your clones that are in range of the target.
undocumented change: bouncing attacks can now bounce on clones and phantasms.
I think this would be a good change if there was some sort of prioritisation which placed clones at the very bottom. As it is now, clones are just taking up the majority of the bounces which has little benefit.

Race: Sylvari
Gender: Female
Profession: Mesmer
Issue: backside of CoF light pants (aka Flame Leg Guards) has clipping issues.
Doesn’t matter what other pieces of armor are being worn together with the pants. the issue appears even when only wearing the pants.
Note: When wearing the CoF light chest piece (which replaces whatever pants are being worn and has the same model as the CoF light pants) the issue doesn’t appear.
you realise the entire game was designed to be casual right? that doesn’t mean it should be neglected.
score update + bonus image of CD player from [KoME] exploiting by getting rezzed through the gate.
if you’re against a thief using an offhand dagger then they’re probably using “cloak and dagger” on your clones to essentially stealth whenever you like. Not worth fighting a good thief, you’ll never kill them.
2~ months later and this is still bugged. Any ETA on a fix?
Feel like this is a long shot, but whatever. Invite if at all possible (ign: Albino) thanks
