What positive functions would this have on the over all game?
Not denying there are big elitism issues that come along with it by any means, but I often used web armory as such…
“Wow, that (insert class) shouldn’t have a hard counter against my (insert class), but his greaves are now firmly implanted in my posterior… I wonder what kind of build he’s using.”
I use 1-5, F1 for heal, and shift+1-4 for utilities/elite.
When you use the roast beef skill, and follow it up with Au Jus utility you get the FRENCH DIP combo.
It’s way overpowered btw and total BS and Anet needs to balance it.
The Au Jus food buff is crucial to CoF speed runs. Anet only cares about PvP…
“Everything is too expensive for casual play but too random for dedicated play.”
Quoted for truth from the reddit linked above.
We use them for guild missions quite a bit. My kitten is bigger than your commander tag anyway.

This…
I’d be more than happy to pay $10 for an outfit or a cool weapon skin I couldn’t otherwise get. But to gamble for it? No way.
and, excluding bank/bag space and extra character slots, this…
Gem store prices IMO are ALL grossly overpriced for what you get.
Trehearne (15 characters)
GOLD SINKS is the answer everyone seems to be missing. WoW’s economy doesn’t fail without DR because there are mounts that cost thousands (120k now-108 with rep) of gold. Tabbards, gear, minis… there are so many things in that game that make gold “go away.” I know there are some gold sinks in GW2, but no where near the level of WoW’s mounts alone.
Players shouldn’t be punished for that oversight
It is the reason WoW’s economy hasn’t collapsed without DR. You keep bringing up that point.
I have been leveling a toon (will be my 3rd 80) in WvW. You wont have access to all your traits and skills, but you will be leveled to 80 while you’re there. Thats enough to run with the big group and contribute to events and gain exp. If you go to sPvP you will be leveled to 80 and get all your trait points to spend so you can really see what your profession will grow into. Don’t be afraid to die in PvP, and don’t hesitate to do it if it looks fun.

Can mesmers use portals inside Guild Puzzles?
Yes.
Considering most of the players have already left the game and that it is quickly dying, ya I would say you are late to the party. Most of the content has already come and gone – so you will have to wait til next year, hopefully, if you want a chance to “catch up”.
Sorry, you didn’t miss much.
Is there really nothing in your life more compelling than spewing hate in every thread on these forums? Sad.
snip —all you really need to do is level upto 80th level
I advise against rushing to 80. GW2 doesn’t have a traditional “end game.” Having a mindset of “must get max level asap” will possibly leave you bored and wondering what to do when you get there. In all likelyhood you will be returning to the lower level zones for map completion towards your legendary, and when you do you will be down-leveled to match the areas so the experience won’t be much different. SPvP and WvWvW level you up to 80, so you can do them the whole time. There is VERY little content that is only available to max level. Just play the game, have a good time. 80 will happen soon enough, and you’ll mostly be doing the same things when you get there anyway.
Literally “hating” your opponents in a game really isn’t healthy.
It’s a game, they’re people too – when you were a kid kicking a ball around in the street you aimed to win out of competitive spirit, to say “I’m best!”, and because it was fun.
If you did it because you hated everyone else you have unaddressed issues.
I don’t literally hate them, hence the quotes around “hate.” I’m talking about a role playing kind of hate. You know, the RP in MMORPG. When I was kicking a ball around the street my goal wasn’t to kill my competitors. In PvP my goal IS to virtually kill them, and I like to have a reason to do that.
I’m here from “that other game.” I was more into PvP than PvE. The lack of balance and over-abundance of CC killed it for me. I am well aware we have balance issues here, but in general I feel like WvW is a pretty good PvP experience. What I miss the most from there is the direct rivalry. I have no reason to “hate” Yak’s Bend or whoever, outside the fact they are 1 of this 2 weeks rivals.
I know it would take some time and resources program wise, bu it wouldn’t take much living story-esque short plotline to explain why we fight each other when there are elder dragons at our doorstep.
TL:DR I want to “hate” my “enemies” in PvP, but they look just like me. Am I alone ?
I’m in a giant guild, stealin’all ur doods!
GS is over-rated. Axe/axe makes lots of pain.
I was trying to make a joke about “soiling yourself” if you get in trouble.
Oh well…
Say what you will about the SAB, but that commercial was god-tier.
Morph into the form of roots, and burrow into the ground.
*Drops hate
*Removes stun and cripple effects
*Regeneration
I would love to be able to choose another skill than elite in slot 4 as the elite warrior are joke (banner is Underperforming the non-elite ones: its not rezzing at all dead player and it gives a power buff +35… and banner traits don’t apply on it).
Not sure why the elite banner didn’t get buffed with the rest of them, but signet of rage is far from a joke.
Can I kill Traehearne?
Craft till level 30ish.
Learn all your weapon skills.
Now you have enough personal story/choices of viable maps/wvw/spvp/dungeons(you will be close to 35 for AC by the time you finish weaps.) to keep you busy well into the next 80.
A 3rd arm for a 3rd 1h axe.
There is no RL.
Only AFK.
My experiences was that GW2 community was worse than wows community.
How kittening long has it been since you played WoW? That place is toxic. The horrible community there is what drove me here. The new dailies have added some weird dynamics (letting NPCs die for healer, not killing mobs for dodges, etc.), but the community here is an enormous step up. I told some old WoW guildies how you can just say in /map “need help with X veteran/event” and people will show up to help. They practically didn’t believe me.
/g guildmate has logged on

This still is not working for me and hasn’t for quite awhile and any suggested fixes have proven useless.
After a bit of googling I found a site that had two suggestions. One was to delete the local.dat file in your gw2 folder, which does work. Unfortunately it also clears your saved log in name and pw , and a few other settings.
The other was to download and run some script they had. Not even considering doing that…
I don’t have to delete my local.dat file every time, but at least once a week. It would be nice to see a real fix.
Well most of the game is solo, 1 to 80 abut you are automatically grouped.
Events… automatically grouped.
WvW is usually just zerging, automatically grouped.
I am in a big guild of 200ish players. From my observations I am not alone, in that 95% of the players I see and talk to are running around doing there own thing and automatically grouped.
Fixed a few of those for you.
NO
Message Body length must at least be 15.
I laughed harder at this than I should have.
Edit: Oh yeah, NO.
Why bother going out to find them when you can just sit in Lion’s Arch and be done?
Why play a game for fun when you can cheat a system that you can’t “win” and has no “end”?
I don’t know that to tell you, mate. Have fun jumping off stuff for strangers in LA, I guess.
Are you willing to accept that raids will not impinge upon the ability of players to play to their full potential – whatever it may be - and keep up with their friends by doing world events or dungeons or things that don’t require one to work a second job with a stick-up-its-quaggan raiding guild? You’d be content with players not having to go into raid zones for world completion, or with having raids be only a minor, optional component of monthly completion rewards? You’d be content to have raids drop only new exotic skins (because kitten Ascended gear and Fractals anyways)?
For the record, yes. I know that was posted sarcastically, but yes, I would like to see that. Or even better
Actually, they could take it a step further and toss in the dynamic difficulty scaling from events, and a tiered system similar to fractals.
with the same no “gear treadmill” rules. I would love it if they just made every already existing dungeon for 5+ players (5-10, 5-25, 5-40, 5-unlimited, whatever they decided on.) Six guildies on? Let’s roll!! Twelve? Move out! OMGThirty-eight? We’re off to AC story!!
I don’t see how that kind of option could be bad for anyone in the game.
It lacks a ton of explanation on how the game mechanics work even simple things like how chat works.
I have seen this as well. I have a friend that came over from wow recently. He didn’t know that he could switch weapons in combat until I told him around his 33rd level. That’s a fairly important game mechanic, and it’s contrary to most other MMOs. There may be a little tip at level 7, I don’t remember, but the little tip pop-ups don’t convey the importance of “you can now use 2 sets of weapons.” If I wasn’t such a forum dweller, I probably would have been in the same place when I started.
Yeah, these are group events for a reason. They’re meant to be taken by groups. It’s NORMAL not to be able to solo this.
Kill the baby spiders when they spawn, and there you go.
I think it even says below the health bar of a baby spider when selected that it defends the mother or something to that effect.
Groups? In my MMO?
They might as well change the genre to MSO. Massively single-player online games…
Thanks for the quick responses guys
Hey guys. I have done a quick search on google and haven’t figured out how to get from the Black Citadel to the event. The only results I’ve really found were to pay someone to run me there, but I’m new to the game and poor. Is there another way to get to Lion’s Arch for a newbie?
