It’s funny because I made a thread offering to show people how to get around HoT and not a single complaining person took me up on my offer.
As I’ve said many times, and will no doubt say again, it’s better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.
I might consider taking you up on that offer. I love VB… I love gliding, so this makes sense. I have literally completed the VB map 23 times — no exaggeration, each of my 80’s has completed that map. That said, I can not stand TD. I’d like to think that I’m a decent player, but that map just annoys the crap out of me. I’ve been playing MMOs for almost 15 years now, and I’ve never cursed at my computer screen while trying to navigate a game map, like I do what I’m in TD.
I love so much about this game, before and after HoT, but I just can’t stand this particular map. The sad thing is that I’m a map explorer at heart… but this map. [To me] TD isn’t as challenging as it is annoying.
Haven’t had this problem, mainly because I can’t stand to be in that zone long enough to experience such issues.
I’m in a small family guild. We aren’t mad about not getting a hall. That’s no big deal. But all the amenities we worked so hard for, harder than a bigger guild, like banners and weaponsmith, have been taken away. We would have been happy if Anet lets us keep what we unlocked and frozen all future progress until a guild hall was obtained.. It really stings because we got our weaponsmith and was in the progress of building it when HoT launched..
For us, its not that we don’t get a hall, its about all of our progress and work being erased..
It happened once before, when the Merit was introduced. Some things we had unlocked were taken away and we had to re-earn them. I believe it’s very wrong
Exactly!… having a guild hall, and all the NEW stuff that comes with it, isn’t really my small family guild’s issue either. We just want all of the OLD guild perks back that we earned over years of playing together. I do not begrudge larger guilds their due for being able to get a hall. If you can get a hall then great for you, and Dwayna bless you! But taking away pretty much everything from small guilds, leaving us with basically just a bank and chat channel, just stinks.
I’m in a three-person guild. It’s the wife, brother-in-law and me. To tell you the truth, I could care less about not being able to have a guild hall. What upsets me, is that there are things that my little guild could do a few days ago, that we can no longer do today without a hall. So we’ve just paid for an expansion which effectively removed guild-based abilities we’d had for YEARS. I’m fine with creating a bunch of cool new stuff for guilds who have the numbers to earn a hall… but taking away the old stuff from everyone else, stuff we’ve enjoyed for a long time now and gating that behind achieving a guild hall, just sucks.
I don’t know if what I have to say adds anything to the discussion, but here goes…
I’m in a very small guild — there’s only three of us. We love running dungeons together. Only having three people seems to allow for slightly more challenging encounters, and leaves a little more room for playing a “role.” I pretty much always play more of a support role, with my elementalist helping to keep everybody healed and alive. It’s not a true trinity but I get to play the part of the combat healer, in a way that’s very active and dynamic — doing damage, healing AND actually moving around at the same time. It all feels much more involved and challenging than I remember WoW being, as a healer.
Let’s note that Mr. O’Brien relayed a message from the artist that designed the outfit that it was “a work of love.” She worked very hard to make something nice for us, knowing it would not be paid for by any of us. I don’t think she’s soulless, or wants consumer satisfaction reports.
So, Madam Artist: Thank you for the lovely gift! It dyes very nicely and is full of solid attention to detail. All the parts look good together, you paid attention to racial needs of ears and tails and horns, go you!
Basically, exactly what you just said. This statement is what makes me love the GW2 community.
I support 2-hand axes… and melee staff… and Pole arms… and rifles for thieves… I just want new ways to play my existing toons.
I don’t really post on forums like this very much, but I just have to chime in here. I do not have a disability, but my brother does. I really appreciate threads like this, where players help each other, without trolling. I’ve played a lot of MMOs during that past decade, and I think that the GW2 community has been one of the best.
