Nope , im talking both . They did nerf them but they are still more than viable . They take fine tuning and understanding there skill rotations . Your phantasm getting killed is part of that . I count on that due to the debuffs they put off on there deaths . That is actually a huge part of there dps many people are missing ( I think) . I feel like there still to strong and need another nerf but thats me apparently . I never ever even keep them up long enough to get killed , I pop them myself by restarting the rotations and pulling them back out again . Heck I brought my brothers back to this game by showing them how to play it . Now they can run any content and not feel like there useless . I am not trying to sound like an elitist , I just dont know what you guys arent doing , there dps is kinda like nonstop burst with 0 cd’s and mini tanks to keep threat off you and unlimited ways to escape death . There just an amazing class that is so powerful I get bored playing it now .

Ill give you a heads up . Try greatsword and sceptor / pistol . Trait for zerker phantasms and give them the extra health and watch them drop everything in sight with ease .

I didnt say burst , you did . I can sustain that damage in pve too . I rarely use utilitys except to escape damage . I use only weapon skills for damage and I do tons of it lol . You just are not using the proper traits and weapons !

To me , i was playing since launch and as far as I could tell . Ascended gear was added when they upped fractals and added all that AR and debuff damage later on . Now , you need that gear to run high level fractals to get increased chances at good drops . And as far as that goes it is worth it . I like them and run them daily . I have full rings earrings and ammys on 8 classes with a near full light and full heavy armor set . I have a bank with 45 extra rings all infused with 2 slots because I get them so much , I just swap out the regular for infused . You wont get them without running the higher levels , and the time spent getting that gear will be rewarded later on . I have also gotten precursors dropped there and ascended armor chests. I havent gotten a weapon chest there yet but I see them daily from party members as well as armor chests and every 2-3 weeks or so a precursor .

That being said , I also think they added this gear to fix the market for mats a long time ago . Anything under t-6 was worthless and t-6 were ridiculously overpriced due to legendary crafting .Adding this gear to crafting fixed the market and made all mats worth gathering and selling . Its not meant for new players and requires work to get it . What RPG have you played where end game crafting was cheap and easy ? I now have a reason for having leveled all my crafting to max other than saying I did it . I am glad it is the way it is and dont get this argument .

ermm , This has to be a troll. I have all 8 classes and have ran or run now zerker on them all . Mesmer is by far one of the hardest hitting zerker classes there is . You are not doing it right . You also (unlike other zerker classes) have tons more survivability due to your weapon skills and utilities . I dont understand how you can say there damage is low , I can nuke you and 5-6 others in seconds np at all .

I just started messing with this last week for first time . I took the old cookie cutter D/D bunker build and went cleric staff and light armor . Superior runes of water . The heal on hit sigil and the gain healing percent up to 25 stacks thing . I am using celestial rings ,amulet and accessories with an soldier backpiece . Been gone awhile not familiar with the new names .

Base / no boons or food . I am @ 1232 healing , 2876 armor , 17 500 hp’s . 50 % boon duration . Using the toughness sigil with armor of earth and teleport cantrips . Glypth of ele for pve and tornado for pvp .

I can tell you that this setup is insane in both pvp and pve . Yep , your damage is laughable . But I built this as 100 percent support . 2 examples ! Killing karka vets . You can grab 4 vets 3-4 little ones and the little annoying vet one all at once and easily tank , heal and cc through it . You and everyone around you . In WvW , when the zergs are about to smash head on into each other . You can throw out your CC fields , run straight into it and pop tornado . You will wipe that zerg nearly every time . Well , your zerg will , but in seconds . I roam with my brother who plays a zerker mes and we easily overcome 5 man roamers constantly . IDK , I love this build . Tanking , healing ,CC and fields with laughable damage is ok with me .

Find 5-10 people with your similar needs and run a havoc party to capture what you don’t have . I know its not the best solution as you are not fond of PvP . And you will be ganked by better parties . So just jump to another BG and work on what you need there . Its hard to put myself in your shoes as in my server we love our wvw . But this seems like the best and fastest way for you to achieve your goals . I can feel your pain a bit due to wanting completion on my first char and being overwhelmed in WvW because I was just getting owned by everyone constantly . But , sticking with it I ended up loving WvW because of all that pain . I think that is what devs had in mind , force you to spend more time in there than a fast what is this , no ty moment . But its not for everyone . I wish you luck .

Something I forgot , The best rangers in WvW by far are the highly mobile ones . I haven’t figured them out yet but I can tell you I am very good at 1 v 1’s and ok at 1 v 5’s . But those rangers that just flip and warp all over are a pain to kill . I know there not berserker but not full survivability either .

Sounds to me like your running berserker with no understanding of the way combat works in this game , you are getting one shotted because you choose to try to one shot others . There is incredible depth in this game and with only 10 skills . I am surprised at how well they managed to pull it off . At first , your like wtf is this . But once you start to see the bigger picture . Countless builds will flood your mind . Most important thing to realize is this is NOT like any other MMO out there . On the surface it is but dig deep enough and you will find a wealth of variety .

For me , I learned many years ago in other games , that having all the classes leveled up and geared gives significant advantages over 1 character . The biggest one for me is getting an in depth understanding of what each class can and cant do . This not only makes pvp much more fun due to knowing what your opponent is going to do before he does it . But when they nerf my favorite char to oblivion in the latest balance patch , I can just go find the char they buffed to the moon and run them till next balance patch .

I also like to craft . So , in the process of leveling up all the char in the various areas . You end up getting a massive stock of mats to easily and quickly max all crafting disciplines . Because of this , you make tons of gold just leveling them and selling the products you made to level , so gearing all your chars is a breeze . Into ascended ,of course not , but minimum rings ,back and accessories ascended the rest exotics no problem . then you just slowly build up there end game gear till the level cap rises lol .

I cant play 1 char as it will just bore me and force me into another game . But these are the things that make good MMO’s . Variety , a little something for everyone

There just taking the luck out of finding a precursor and or making more people up there crafting to make it . Although you need crafting up there to make them all anyways , now it adds the cost of leveling crafting to it as well . I was never going to make one myself due to saying no way im spending that on a precursor for a few more stats and a shiny skin . I was one of the lucky ones that got DUSK dropped off of a normal mob in the charr fractal scale 6 …lol . So , I had to make it then and I had around 11 gold when I got it . Did I earn mine , your darn right I did and it took me 2 months of daily grinding to do it . Nothing easy or fast about getting these , even after you get your precursor . And I bet it will be no joke crafting that precursor either lets not forget . Lets see what they have planned entirely before we judge this move . I think across the board this move is better for the community . If anything (though I am not looking forward to this) , this will drive t-6 back up in cost due to supply going way down if everybody is trying to make one . And the influx of new crafters it is sure to bring .

Going back to launch and the state of the market for the first 4-5 months of gameplay . I am ok with whatever they do to keep it balanced out . You couldn’t make any gold hardly and it took ages to make regular exotics in some cases . I feel it had more to do with getting people into certain areas and forcing activity in those zones . Getting armored scales used to be horribly costly due to supply . Until they pointed people in the direction of where to get them . Before that , they had gone up to 1 gold each and more . Now there back in the low 30’s range . I feel like they fiddle in the market more in this area than any other way and I personally am ok with it .

I just came back to the game after a year and I have to tell you , I am sorely disappointed in the general attitude of the community I have been encountering in WvW and any PvE based gameplay . The whole AP thing trips me out . Example , my DAD plays this game lol , hes retired and does nothing but AP grind . Invite him into a party if you want to . Pops enjoys the game and thinks hes pro due to 14k something Ap . Yet dies instantly in pvp or dungeons . Does ok on world events . AP does not = skill . My 2 brothers that play with me . Can care less about achievments . have like 5k between the 2 of them and will dominate you in pvp or wvw all day .

Its the people your playing with man . They aren’t good enough to carry themselves most likely and need 3-4 others to do it . So they grind AP so they can say I am the man . All this stacking as berserker in this corner crap , on my light armor berserkers in those stacks , I drop in seconds . Yet , if the other 3-4 drop and I am forced into play the game the way I want mode . I will clear the boss and / or the room solo every single time .They cry and complain for about 40 seconds until they see o , hes gonna clear this . I use my own specs ( never off the web) and gear combos to get results that fit my playstyle . I try to strive for me vs 5 and survive . But my builds are nothing like anyone elses .

You sound intelligent and patient . Try doing your own thing no matter what , its your game , you bought it . Think outside the box and find the hidden builds . They are there . I have all 8 chars and do this on all 8 . I only have issues with 1 . Don’t give up and let others ruin your fun .

I wanted to add . Although I am biased for ASUS videocards . Sapphire actually makes the best ones and there cheap . The components they use are the best of the best all across the board . I like ASUS for there voltage control because I like to play with everything and there the most stable when overclocking . Corsair really is a fantastic company for all around quality . ESP when it comes to RAM and Power Supplies . And I will always recommend NEWEGG.com because I have been with them since they started and I seriously cant name 1 single problem they have ever given me . I can ramble on for hours and the positive things they have done for me . Just my thoughts , GL no matter what you choose .

You want to buy it but im gonna tell you to build anyways . Its not only childs play to build a PC , But what you get for the same price if you build it is at least 3 times better . You DO NOT need an SSD . Get A sata 3 capable drive and install windows under AHCI , or legacy if you don’t know how and switch it once its up and running . I suggest WD black edition as they will outlast ANY drive on the market , period .
The FX chips from AMD are nothing to shake a stick at . You can easily run an 8350 on air (after market cooler) , @ 4.6 stable . With the right case , you can get your cores down to 12 C at idle and 28-32 C under load . Thermal paste is important , IC diamond , accept no substitute for your CPU , and GPU if your comfortable removing the cooler to do it .
As for GPU , I am all about bang for buck . Having been building my own for over 20 years now , I am over the mine cost more its better than yours . I would just go with an R9 290 x OC dc II from ASUS . Amazing card if you have over 750 watts to power it . Go with Corsair PSU . The quality and warranty is hard to beat . Same with the RAM , Corsair I have found is just more stable across the board @ many different clock profiles . The costly RAM like Mushkin , is way too touchy on the timings and causes way to many headaches . You don’t need 16 + gigs , just grab 2 – 4 gb sticks . Motherboard for AMD , crosshair formula -z . I already know the flaming im about to receive , but I will put my AMD up against ANY intel out there and run circles around it . Do the research , Intel is better at single thread applications only . Nvidia Graphics are a tad better looking , but that’s about change . AMD has some very interesting things in the works . If you must buy one , I suggest NEWEGG . They have many prebuilt systems to choose from and I am sure you can find one in your range , just not as good as if you built it yourself . Windows 8 can be downgraded to 7 for free , I wouldn’t sweat that in the least .

Its not you ,but ,you should look into changing the power supply . I highly doubt you have the ampres on the rail to feed that card ,or the processer under load . Ignore watts ,shop by the amp per rail .

Ive seen 5 thieves wipe 25 man zergs in t-2 many times hehe ..This could be epic . I thought of doing same thing but idk ,may just get boring ! I do like the idea though . And to me this IS thinking outside the box ! Having half your thiefs perma blind while the other half pop dagger storm would surely impact that zerg in a negative manner .

My brother the other day says to me ,wth is going on , my thiefs hp’s dropped to 13,300 . Of course I started out ,are you full serker , did you change traits ,buffs ,banners ,and on and on . He swore nothing had changed other than his hp’s ! Thinking he was losing his mind ,I logged in to check my own thief .

For 2 days prior to this ,I had been toying with stats trying to get 17k hp’s and still maintain descent offensive stats . The night before I had just gotten thief to 16 ,586 hp’s , I log in , I am sitting at 14,031 . This baffled me ! I checked traits ,buffs ,banners everything I could think of . Nothing changed . I checked in Orr ,LA ,and wvw with no change . next day ,I log in and I now have 15 ,200 and my brother is at 14,500 . They put out a hotfix ,I log back in and I have gained 400 more hp’s

Wth is going on and are we the only 2 noticing this . Wanted to post here for feedback before I reported as bug ,just not sure what to think of this !

Was just looking at he dozens of lockpicks I have accumulated doing this event and the thought occurred to me .

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could take 100 or so of those useless lockpicks ,combine them and make 1 blacklion chest key ! I understand this takes away from revenue ,but it would sure help alleviate the hundreds of chests I have !

If it helps ,I noticed when I control alt delete , for some reason there is 2 instances of guild wars running . Only after I purchase skill though , not before . So ,its like by purchasing a skill ,it opens another instance of gw2 on my computer .

This will be my 7th character . 6 are already 80 so this is a new thing ! Every time I go to buy a new skill on engineer , the game locks up . I have to ctrl alt delete and close game to fix it . Im level 8 atm ,but so far , every single skill I purchased does this . The last one I just bought ,locked computer completely ,I had to soft shutdown ! Also , the other times it just locked game with screen as is , the one I had to shutdown on ,there were little blue squares evenly placed all over the screen .

We will get the last laugh in the end this coming week , when your happy little family is broken up and paired against new servers. Without your alliance you will fall and fall in the rankings ,all you have done is make us that much better . We have had to adjust to this tag team and find ways to overcome it ! Will be funny to watch Db treat you like a tier 10 server when your on your own ….Gl to you all !

All I see is a cowardly Tc and FA double teaming us since day one ! Neither of these servers has a lick of honor . As I type this , TC has there 75 + man zerg hitting one side of our keep ,and FA has there 75 + man zerg hitting other side ! Not bothering to attack one another . We have 35 people maybe holding atm and you STILL cant take it . If you had even a lick of digninty ,you might have the skill to get it from us . But as it stands ,its blatantly obvious why you insist on this alliance amongst yourselves . Your players skill base is laughable . And now we ALL know why ! Keep grinding Db ,these clowns aren’t worth the slightest bit of our respect .

hehe the other night in FA bl .I was in a group with 4 gaurds and 1 warrior ! You Fa guys know what im talking about =0 ..We easily capped 2 towers killing 12 Fa over n over while we capped . They had to pull there 40 man zerg in to kill us ,and with 2 Ac all of them and the vets respawning we pushed them back to bay and held for 10 minutes . Now ,mind you we hardly killed anyone ,but they couldn’t kill us lol.. So op ,if we could kill you in 10 seconds I would say maybe ,but as a healer ,no way lol ,were just tough and require teamwork to drop !

We have the illusion of being op and I get that ,but its only cause we are doing what we were built for . Take a group of 5 thiefs ,they can do the same thing ,or 5 mesmers or 5 eles..Its all about the players . I am not gonna tell you how to kill us =0 ..But you can easily ..Gl

Man ohh man , Fa andTc , you all are a pleasure to play against ! Both of you play fantastic defense on your towers and keeps . And those 30 + min battles for Bay and hills on all the bl’s is what I have been yearning for ! I haven’t had battles like this on Db in forever . We had good opponents at times ,but you guys really bring the pain …

Its interesting and refreshing to see new tactics and strategies being applied against us , and I am loving how Db has risen to the challenge of learning them . Great fun all around . Cant wait to see what the next few weeks bring .

Drive of the ogres attacking watchcrag tower ,has been locked in dragonbrand for 10 days now ! .You cant complete event ,its stuck at 19 % morale and 4/5 npc. Noone knows where last npc disappeared to !

I need this 1 single Point of intrest for 100% map completion for crafting my first legendary ! Out of 719 points ,this one is gonna get me =(…

For me ,this was huge …Example.

I would use Burning speed to close gap ,then drop ring of fire…Switch to earth and hit earthquake to get the knockdown and combo finisher ,then hit ring of earth to apply bleed . Then go to air hit updraft to knockdown again ,then ride the lightning to reclose gap so Ican hit lightning touch then water 3 to slow and get regen .Just an example ,but this messed my whole rotation up on many different combos I would use .

Game breaker , certainly not ,annoying —Hell yes !

Easy one . The way the game is set up . The more people killing a mob , the harder that mob is to kill . So , if your good and your partner isnt , you now have a weak link in your group ! Rarely have I seen anyone that snycs well with my playstlye ,so why not go solo !

Just helps to UP the replay value…thats it !

Could be like other games out there ,where you grind all the end game gear ,just so they can put out an entire new set next month for you to grind all over again ! Mostly because these games have no endgame content to speak of other than the monthly farm to aquire the hottest new gear sets .

I for one am tired of getting new pvp and pve sets every month ,it gets old . I like the fact it takes TIME to aquire these things ! You cant show everyone how good your are at the game , yet . But in 6 months or so , youll look kitten and everyone will know what it took to get that =0…

I dont get why all you AMD users are having fps issues..I dont !The ONLY issues I am having is getting constant dc’s from the server farm .

I get 59 fps locked with v snyc all day..Maxed out at 1080 ,with ONLY the shader turned down to medium .

Since that hot fix on thursday i think it was ,the little 20 sec patch the other day , I cant play for 5 minutes in pve wvw or spvp ,nothing . I had no issues prior to this and have 4 level 80 ’s ,so it ran fine for me . Now ,Its like the worst memory leak ive ever seen in any game . I dont know wth you guys did at anet ,but please put it back the way it was .

Yes im aware that it takes a beast to play this at max framerate . Im not gonna bother with machine specs as it ran fine before that hotfix ! But im getting this now and I feel the others pain ! If Icast any spell in wvw ,there is a 10 second delay and im dead when it catches back up ,like clockwork. I can run around for 2-3 minutes in the middle of the chaos and its fine ,the second I try to cast a spell ,lag and dead.

Ive spent a considerable amount of time on my end trying to figure this out . Its not the router / modem /AMD / Intel / ATI /Nvidia or cooling . I have 2 AMD machines and 2 Intels both with 6 month old hardware and its the same issue across the board .

I ran a p4 for 3 years with no tpaste running way way hotter than todays CPU’s..Your not supposed to do it , it affects performance drastically ! But as far as cooking the cpu ,ive only seen it happen once and we were trying to do it .

That temp even with no paste is very high ,you have other issues id say besides fans ! Keeping your wiring neat and out of site makes a difference as it allows the air to flow better . Most important ,make SURE your cpu voltage is correct . These amd’s have a tendancy to OC themselves in bios (esp voltage) even with overvolt turned off . My phenom 2 @3.8 is running at 1.35 , it wants to be at 1.375 but I get 20 fps more at current voltage .
I had a ROG board auto volt my old cpu to 1.85 volts ! It was a board issue and not my fault but it fried that chip . Still took 3 months before I realized it hehe kitten thing wouldnt give up !

Your hardware isnt that old really ,you should be able to get that temp down with minor tweaks !

Your not gonna like it ,but try to disable firefox and use IE !

Im dissapointed at the entire event myself . Very kiddish and annoying . Not much there for adults . With the exception that ALL of the events require you to spend real money in some way shape or form ! Cant find candy corn to continue looking for ghosts ,cant get 25 hits due to cash shop costumes being very OP !

I really enjoyed this game , at first . But now ,im starting to realize that the monthly subscription fees from my other games was cheaper. This game is becoming a cash dump and I only had it a month !Putting a VERY bad taste in my mouth for arenanet !
