same. Got nearly 900 in ours and no rewards at all. Has civilian counter but miasma level was full from the beginning on the bar but not actually in the event.
Thank you for your response, Roy.
Our biggest concern here was the lack of an official response whether or not you had any definite plans in mind on how to remedy it. Plenty of options have been posed here and since you guys are aware of how disproportional of a hit celestial is receiving it’s good to know it’s being considered.
An answer from ANet would definitely be appreciated whether or not they have a solution to our concern. Just something to let us know that they acknowledge our serious concern.
Celestial has already received enough crap from the vocal berserker elitist crowd on various forums. Given that these changes are meant to be part of a balancing of the Berserker meta but impact those who run Celestial far more this ends up being a double kick in the nuts for us.
Fixes don’t even necessarily need to come in the form of evening out the amount of crit damage lost. I’d be fine with the lower crit damage if we see, as others have suggested, a small bonus to boon/condition duration. Considering Celestial is meant to be the average of all stats and some sets give bonus duration it would make quite a bit of sense.
If anything as far as balancing goes I don’t think the givers line gives enough boon duration to make it seriously viable. 1% per piece of armor doesn’t amount to much to sacrifice a whole stat for. A whole set of givers providing 15-20% boon duration would be more sensible. Meanwhile a full celestial set providing 10% or so would also make up for the sacrifice in crit damage.
As someone who runs a moderately tanky guardian build I still utilize vigor and dodging to it’s fullest extent. I would not want to see it go.
I would like to see a whole new type of cosmetic gear that doesn’t rely on completing events or the luck of the drop to acquire. My personal idea would be something like this.
Create sets of gear. Maybe one for each zone in the game. Give each zone a specific named spawn, or “unique” monster, that is guaranteed to drop at piece of this equipment(or an item specific to that set that can be converted to a specific piece of your choice like chest, shoulders, legs, etc).
Rather than having it spawn within a set window that can be tracked and at a specific location give it a wide window and make it considerably rare to spawn. Also give it multiple locations within the zone that it’s capable of spawning in and only let it be in one location at a time until someone kills it – similar to the skritt thief chest. Make the creature either veteran or a little tougher so a lone character exploring the zone has a chance to take it down.
Essentially it would be something that is hard but not impossible to farm. Somewhat rare to find. Something you could take on your own. And it would encourage exploration and people returning to various zones.
Heavy male – I wouldn’t mind the shoulders but I dislike the brown fringes around it. Clashes with my colors.
I don’t have the helm yet but I don’t particularly like it.
The greaves need a third dye color. The other pieces I have let you dye the background of the etched designs. Greaves can’t.
Dawn dropped from the mystic forge for me after 3 tries. Using greatswords crafted with mithril/claws I got from farming the pavilion.
But I love this game!
Yeah it’s not perfect. It has it’s bugs/flaws. It has plenty of content that needs to be expanded upon. There are things that could be better balanced and the living story could use some refinement.
Whatever.
No game is perfect and I still have a lot of fun playing. I love the design of the game. I love the beautiful graphics. I love the community on my server. I love my guild. Most importantly I appreciate the hard work that Anet has put into the game and I appreciate the fact that they have delved into many new MMO concepts, even if some of them may have not worked out well.
Anyone else not feel the incessant need to complain?
My guardian has sunrise with pyre/celestial/lifesblood dye!
I dunno about your server but I rally people for temple events on quite a consistant basis. A quick advertisement in LA /map chat and maybe a couple other places usually nets enough people to clear most temples. Balthazar and sometimes Lyssa not so much. Dwayna and Melandru are pretty easy to get people together for. Grenth sometimes. If you get enough people for Dwayna you can usually get them to migrate over to Lyssa.
Sometimes you have to start the events on your own or with just a few people to get people to come. Dwayna – escort the historian. Try to rally a full group of 5 to take the priestess. Once trackers like gw2stuff.com update to beating up malchor people tend to flood in.
Agreed Freak. There are already enough berserker elitists out there that we don’t need to add to it.
This game focuses on so much more than strict dps in combat such as mobility and dodging – elements that reduce DPS. This isn’t your typical MMO where you just stand in one place and attack.
Necromancer #3 I like.
I realize it backs away from what necros were in gw1 by quite a bit – minions constantly losing health until they are healed or die. But this game is different from 1. Health regen outside of combat would not be overpowered at all.
People keep bringing up the mounts for asthetic reasons. I think it would ruin the asthetic beauty of the game honestly. Especially when dealing with the constant threat of being thrown into combat when running around the world.
Mounted combat wouldn’t make sense given how the game is designed. The mounts just suddenly disappearing when you enter combat would also just look dumb.
I can’t really think of anything that would be added to the game by implementing them.
Great suggestions!
I’m sure many of us would like to see more use made of the home instances. There is a lot of unexploited potential to be had there.
A friend of mine bought the game while it was on sale today.
He never received an e-mail with the serial code to activate his account. His e-mail is correct. He has checked his spam folder. All that jazz.
He opened a ticket and received an e-mail response saying that he needs to create a support account and provided him with a link to do so. That link takes him here: https://guildwars2.zendesk.com/home
We see no way to make a support account. What is our next step toward getting this resolved?
Fair? It is fair.
Those who voted and took part in the election system got what they wanted. They were able to take part in something and vote for a candidate they wanted.
Those who didnt care about a virtual election of some NPC got nothing for this except token for an event they didnt care about. This is what those people get out of it.What? As far as we knew there was 1 and only 1 use for these…voting. On top of that it took loads of clicking to vote. Had we known these would have any value I highly doubt many players at all would have used them outside of maybe 10 for the achievement. I know I used multiple stacks of these just b/c there simply wasn’t any use of them or value to them. Now I am told had I not wasted my time I would have been rewarded with a heafty amount of gold? Nah…this is udder crap.
Key words: A far as we knew. Which is why throwing your kitten out BEFORE you know what is going to be done with them is dumb as a bag of hammers. I used mine, but have some cause the tokens kept dropping anyway after polls closed. Also have a couple stacks of buttons. Hope I can sell those. Either way, with the wallet freeing a kitten load of slots from dungeon tokens, ain’t cramped for space. No one held a gun to your head and forced you to delete before you knew what would be done with things. Any of you.
Considering how long I’ve held onto other event tokens that have since proved useless I don’t think it’s that dumb to have deleted once we could no longer turn them in.
As someone who forgot to turn in their tokens and subsequently destroy about 300 of them yesterday thinking they were useless…yeah. I’m angry.
Rifles for Thieves would be nice. Sniper build anyone?
With the new achievement skins that can be repeatedly pulled for any character it got me thinking – you guys should should just add something similar to the PVP skin locker to the PVE world. There are so many event skins that are just littering my inventory on all of my characters that I don’t know if I will ever use but don’t want to get rid of them.
You can further make this awesome by changing the Transmutation stones and crystals to allow you to convert any item to a skin for PVE and not just PVE – Stones for level 0-79 and crystals for level 80. This would make the stones and crystals still worth getting so you can make any item a skin that you want and let it be reusable from then on.
One more off topic idea – you guys have all the mechanics set up for making a tower defense mini-game. Use an offshoot of engineer turrets. Something similar to a currency to deploy them like we saw with ability use in Super Adventure Box. Maybe even a few class specific turrets. Just an thought!
