true, and the first iteration of the daily reward system allowed a player to get 25AP each day. i don’t recall how long that lasted, but i’m guessing a month or two at least.

The dyes are crazy right now. I am guessing that people are getting them to turn them into unidentified dyes on other characters after the patch? No idea but seems risky to pay the prices some of these are up to.

ikr, what if anet decides to make the unidentified dyes derived from your duplicate dyes account bound, similar to how they currently do with pvp unidentified dyes.

nah, i crafted the immobulus yesterday and it took about 4 days to get 250 giant eyes from the TP with buy orders. i put in buy orders around 1.2 gold each (most buy orders were around the 1 gold mark) because i quickly grew tired of outbidding the other buyers who were upping my bids by 1c multiple times each night.

there’s usually less than 300 giant eyes on the TP at any given time, but there are plenty just sitting in player’s inventories, ready to sell when the buy orders are listed at a decent price point.

i hate to reply to a thread as old as this one, but this item is still dropping from an event. i can’t confirm it’s @ jormag, but it has to be dropping somewhere; there are just too many consistently available on the TP in comparison with other items that require a gift to craft. not to mention how much cheaper it is to outright buy this item than it is to make. no other weapon that requires a gift to create is so much cheaper to buy in this regard from the TP.

i bought one at it’s peak in march for 248g and some change (for personal use, not even to sell), thinking it would continue to spike further and prove to be a good bargain. lol, stupidly didn’t even put in a buy order for it bc i really wanted it and was convinced it was gonna continue going up. i’ve been pretty bummed ever since until seeing this latest spike. :p

in the hallway just past the ballistas on the way to the butcher, players used to could turn around and walk backwards to avoid being pulled back towards the ballistas. this has been fixed as of the June 11th patch.

not really a big deal (as it has always been a dumb game mechanic anyways), but why not include this in the patch notes and give the developers the credit for this change?

this is really getting old, please give your devs the credit they deserve for these changes. the player base would simply like to trust what is in the patch notes as being the only items included in each patch; because from the player’s perspective, that’s the point of having patch notes.

now again we’re left to wonder what else has been changed without being duly noted in the patch notes. ugh.

Why would it be better for this player to join another guild? If they wanted to join another guild, they would have stated that in the OP. No need for you to hijack OP’s own thread as your own guild advertisement.

You said yourself that your guild was on the brink of extinction in the past; no reason OP can’t do the same.

I’ve been in this guild since I started playing in October; they’re a great group of players to run around with. World transfer fees are pretty expensive at the moment, so it’s perfectly acceptable to guest as long as you need to.

this achievement is pretty finicky and may in fact be bugged at times, but you do not need to be one of the players carrying a wisp.

Efficiency is dependent on what role you want to be, what encounters you plan on doing (dungeons or high fractals), and how skilled you are as a player. Also to an extent, how organized your group is.

In terms of stat spread, to quote Brutaly who has it spot on:

25-60%% crit
2800-3400 Attack
14k-18k health
2400-3300 armour
200-1200 heal power
51-105% critdamage

If you can hit the minimum or inbetweens of those stats, you’re pretty much golden.
However, you need to adjust them depending on typical roles specified below.

A typical anchor guardian would be sporting Knights armor w/ Berserker accessories with a 0/0/30/30/10 trait build along with either soldier runes or boon duration with shouts. Knights give you enough survivability without compromising on DPS too much. Plus, the boon duration, shouts, and AH from 30 Valor will give you great sustain and support.

A typical support guardian would be full clerics along with 0/X/X/30/X traits, boon duration runes and shouts. While this stat-build has great healing power through Selfless Daring party heals, you will deal low-mediocre DPS. This build seems to be deemed quite ineffectual in general PvE and dungeons as the low DPS may prolong fights which can cause mistakes for both you and your team. However, this has great potential in the PvP game type.

If you drop 30 Valor and let go of Altruistic Healing a whole slew of new builds will open up for you, which are basically the Pure, or Almost-Pure type roles.

A very offensive DPS role but still with support, is easily X/30/X/20/5 with Right-Handed Strength. Deals extreme DPS for a guardian and is still robust and supportive with the right kind of rune and stat spread.

And a very supportive role would be 0/0/X/30/20-30. Supplement with boon duration runes and shouts, with Pure of Voice as needed.

And for the record, I run a boon-duration supportive anchor with Berserker Armor, but with Knights Chest & Legs along with Ascended Zerk amulet with Ascended Cavalier Rings/Trinkets and an Ascended Soldier Backpiece. Plus Knights GS with +5% crit rune and Cleric Staff.

Brings me to unbuffed stats of:

3K-ish Attack
3.1k Armor
43% Crit
79% Crit DMG
15K HP
50% Boon Duration
350 Healing Power

Works completely fine in any sort of dungeon or general PvE without any hiccups.

This is grade A advice.

I favor the “Anchor Guardian” with boon duration runes in PvE and the “Healway” type cleric build in WvW. Both work great in these roles.

agreed that this is grade A advice. I go with the “Anchor Guardian” as well for PVE/Dungeons, but utilize Soldier runes and PoV to keep the clean the party of conditions.

gw2 is a game that is incredibly entertaining and addictive to play. imo, it’s 10 times better in every aspect when compared to gw1, with the exception of rewards and the lack of in-game alliances. the lack of alliances, we as players can work around; the lack of consistent chances at better rewards at this point cannot.

anet, pls give us a shot at a surefire known drop from a particular dungeon, similar to the opportunity to get a BDS in Fendi’s chest in gw1; or a froggy from Bogroot Growths, or the VS from Slaver’s Exile, or Zodiac weapons that are found only in The Deep and Urgoz’s Warren. sure there’s the Final Rest for SB, but lol that event isn’t even near challenging. and the Super Weapons are a good move in this direction, but they’ll only drop during the month of April.

i’d like to see the opportunity to get a different but specific loot drop from each of the dungeons that we can either choose to keep or sell on the TP. sure, we can run these dungeons until we’re blue in the face and get the exact dungeon specific weapons/armor we want, but those items are all soulbound, meaning they can’t be sold of course.

to me, this is what i miss the most about the first game. other than accumulating small chunks of gold at a time, there’s no real reason to run these dungeons in gw2 anymore after you get the armor/weaps/gear you want from them; sure there’s lodestones, but if you’re not going for a legendary weapon, they’re just turned into another small chunk of gold.

it’s soooo much more fun to run SoO in gw1 over and over than it is to run CoF p1 in gw2 for hours on end, because i know that there’s a chance to pick up a specific, unique (not green unique) weapon (BDS) each and every time i run SoO. a chance at a precursor of a weapon i care nothing about just isn’t the same, imo.

but still i love gw2, btw.

We failed a guild mission because of the update. We ended up being in the middle of it, thinking we still had 20 minute left before the update and BAM. Seriously we needed like 2 minutes more before it kicked us out.

If we’d known there was going to be an earlier reset, we’d not have started.

agreed, happened to our guild as well. we killed the first guy of a tier 1 bounty, and some of us initially received guild commendations. we were then kicked, and when logging back in, some guildies reported not having the commendations in their inventory any longer. some reported a complete reset of the day’s activities.

Thanks. I think what I’ll do is finish the Wv3 component of the Legendary, and the final shards, then grind out the AC tokens. If I find a decent group farming it, I’ll hang out with them for a while. It’s only 240 tokens more – just 4 completions. And I’m very patient.

Midnightjade, feel free to hit me up in-game anytime, and me and some guildies will gladly run you through the new AC. it’s not nearly as bad as what 95% of the forum population says. i try to run all paths of this dungeon at least once a week, whether it’s with guildies or pugs. good times.

Hi Terse, i’m glad to see there are players like you still around, guys who are looking for new guilds for the fun and friendships that can be built from within a friendly, smaller, causal guild. you most likely will be pitched ‘this is what my guild can do for you’ from anywhere from 10-20 different guilds, and about 90% of those will come from guilds with 100+ members, which can easily be discarded. the rest will come from guilds which would truly love to have you join for more reasons than to just add a new member/body.

the guild i’m in is Semper Moxie[MXE], and we have 38 members in the guild, with about 25 of us active 5-6 days a week. we’re located on Yak’s Bend and typically like to run some dungeons, fractals, or anything fun in PVE (we dive into WvW every so often, and a couple of players like to play around in sPVP). we have absolutely no rules or requirements other than for our members to attempt to keep the guild chat clean (notice i said to attempt to keep it clean, sometimes it’s just not possible to do.). no one is required to rep our guild 100%, nor are we required to attend every single guild function we set up, nor are we required to login every day, etc, etc.

it’s a great group comprised mostly of adults who are +25 yrs old, with a few of us +40 (i myself am 40). we’re a friendly, casual, social bunch with an intent of helping each other out, and generally goofing off in-game. we all have families, jobs, and other responsibilites that will always take precedence of playing GW2. we’re a pretty diverse group with an inexplicably high number of female players, along with a number of players from Canada, Mexico, and England.

We just finished building out Art of War V late last night, so we’re ever so close to having the ability to start having good times with Guild Bounties. Voice chat is available if you’d like to use it via Ventrillo, and we have recently put up a website at mxe.enjin.com (for forums, calendar events, and news).

We’d love for you to join our group and experience the comaraderie of this guild. If interested, please feel free to reply to this post or send me a PM/Mail here or in-game. if you give us a shot, no need to transfer servers until you’re comfortable, guesting is just way too easy to do now.
