I’m sorry but this build has nothing to be praised for, you are using a power weapon with a Condition weapon. You have low critical chance so can’t take full advantage from Precise Strike. You have no leap, so you can’t catch up with anyone. You take opportunist but don’t fully take advantage of it sinds you have only 1 immobilized skill on a 25sec CD. You can stack a good amount of conditions but between long period of times making it irelevant to anyone with a single condition cleanse.
What you do have are stuns and dazing abilities in your build but you can already get those tools with Sword&Shield + Physical Utilities while having a lot more constant condition pressure and synergy with the Longbow and Opportunist, Combustion + Leap Finisher allows for Fire Shield wich generates a lot of might and burn people in PvP. That same weapon combination also work with Distracting Strike should you build around interupting people.
You also have some condition removal but Cleansing Ire is pretty hard to use if you can’t catch people up with your mace, and this leaves you to use your Longbow wich isn’t recomended when you are overuned by people or get blind spamed by thiefs. And well, your Reflection on Mace will break whenever you are going to fight someone in melee range or a hitscan weapon (ex : Necro Scepter, Mesmer GS,…) some goes for your other block wich will break with a single melee hit and don’t hope to hit a lot of people with it, any smart player will dodge right after you block.
Overall, it is a pretty poor build that barely stands alone, has no inner synergy (no real combos beside from LB) and offers close to no support for your team (except for LB again).
And please, don’t call it a roamer build, roamers rely on mobility skills and not swiftness alone to quickly move across a map (AKA Sword/Mh or/and Greatsword).
I understand why you think it won’t work. I didn’t either. I was using S/S at first for maximum Condition damage, but it just didn’t seem to do any good. I couldn’t stay long enough in melee range vs any decent player to stack enough Bleeds, and not only that, Sword has NO defensive skills. So seeing the buff they gave to mace I decided, what the hell, I’m gonna keep the sword off-hand and put mace in Main.
It changed everything. I didn’t even need sword to deal damage, I was actually managing to deal more damage with this because, and I don’t think you realize this, Impale > Skull Crack > Combustive Shot combo deals A LOT of damage, and before you say most all classes have stun breakers, well, they only have so much against a 2-3 second stun on a 8 seconds cooldown.
Also, with this build the only reason you’d want to be in melee range is for a Skull Crack, and yes you can get in, it’s why you have 2 blocks and 2 evades, and a trait that gives you 25% movement speed with melee weapons, so you can get in just for that Skull Crack. Rest of the time, I’m actually kiting whatever class I’m fighting.
You don’t have low Crit rate, it’s just enough, due to the fact that Warriors have such easy access to Fury, but in case you haven’t noticed in my guide I did say it can also work with Rabid Amulet if you prefer the extra toughness and crit over health and power ( which I don’t but to each his own ).
I really didn’t know what to call it, a roamer, a defender, teamfighter, because I haven’t really tried it in actual tournament play. I’m not saying it will work, just take for it what it is, something new and ( trust me ) fun. And it is the best option when it comes to Condition Warrior.

Made it as a guide, enjoy.
Why do you have a mace on a condition build?
Mace is just too good right now it seems to me. A block, a 2 seconds daze, and a 3+ seconds stun is just too good to pass up. In conjunction with Longbow, it allows you to set up a pretty nasty combo.
Signet of Fury > Impale > Skull Crack > switch > Combustive Shot > Pin Down > Arcing Arrow > Fan of Fire.
At this point the target is poisoned, bleeding, burning and has several torment stacks on it.
Sharing is caring.

Remember, you saw it here first.
You are all right and OP is wrong.
AoE spamming everything to death is good stuff, coordinated stun/fear/whatever locks are bad.
I just can’t figure out though why WoW ( which is ultimately a PvE game btw ) still has PvP that is more popular than GW2’s we-goin-e-sports PvP. Kinda weird.
lol you’re funny, i guess CoF P1 farm will do that to your brain, if its not pure damage is worthless.. but you really need to think about balance. if they give back the 1% they will have to take damage away from most skills forcing people into glassier builds, but then again. i wouldn’t mind the warrior being easier to kill

anyways i’m out! not in the mood to deal with a little cry baby QQ haha
>completely misread people’s posts

get off of 4chan, it’s bad for your health
ITS BEEN FLAGGED FOR TESTIN LEL
Wondered what people thought of something like this.
3 Conquest points as normal, a middle one and two home points that are much closer to the home base than normal.
Each team has a base, in this base is a key structure that is destroyed to instantly win the game. (Could be something like a relic or precious statue).
The secondary mechanic is based around spawning NPCs that will run across the map from your base to the enemy base, to assault a gate and then assault the structure.
The NPCs will run from one base to the other around mid but not through it, the map should be built so that someone holding mid cannot also destroy the NPCs easily.
(Possibly via bridges). Imagine two lanes, each side’s NPCs use the one to their right. The gate at the enemy base can only be damaged by the NPCs. They will do decent damage to the gate though, so that they can’t be ignored as the battle escalates.
Each base will spawn one NPC at the start, afterwards the NPCs will spawn based on holding points.
NPCs are spawned by controlling the points. (Numbers/Health/Run Speed to be determined better through testing and game timing).
NPCs spawn on the :00 and0 second points through the game timer.
Holding your home point spawns one every 30s.
Holding middle spawns two every 30s.
Holding your enemies point spawns three every 30s.
The idea with this is that it’s a gamble to try and take the enemies point, but that leaves you much further from your own point and your base and much closer to the enemy base where they can re-group and counter quickly. Or take your point.
Still looks like just a bunker meta? Possibly…. so.
The NPCs can be attacked by players and killed on the way to the enemy base.
But will be immune to CC, and have a good amount of HP so that they don’t just drop too quickly and become pointless.
This provides a role for damage roamers – offensive and defensive. But, we don’t want a one size fits all approach.
There should be at least two different types of NPC, one is immune to melee damage, one is immune to ranged damage. Requiring different weapons or different classes to take care of different things. This will promote team rotations or more diversity in weapon sets.
When the gate has been taken down by the NPCs the main structure can be attacked and destroyed.
Everyone can join in on this, NPCs and players resulting in a rush to destroy or counter it.
A brave side might not use everyone to counter a rush and could take advantage of open points to spawn many extra NPCs for their own counter-rush.+ Possible addition to make sure that people don’t play too safe with mostly bunkers and little damage to deal with the NPCs.
~At timed intervals an extra wave of NPCs will spawn to help escalate the game.
~10 mins 3 spawn.
~5 mins 5 spawn.I believe this type of map would really help to diversify the game play and move away from a bunker dominated meta. Mobility, damage and flexibility would be key.
Bunker teams could find themselves easily outmaneuvered as teams need to control points, defend their base from NPCs, defend their NPCs from players.
+ Possibly watch for the reinforcement spawn timer at 10 and 5 minutes.
It would allow many different styles of play and tactics to win. This idea could be fun.
However, the fact that ur name is a reference to Ezreal (LoL, the most toxic community on the planet) i would say a Team-Deathmatch mode (similar to GvG, respawn at 2,4,6,8 etc min with a guild lord to slay) is something i would rather see then this, no offence :o
Not possible with these respawn times, since there’s no dedicated healer in this game and targets die a lot faster. In matches like this there will only be tanky classes, i.e. rangers, elementalists and guardians.
BM ranger > everything
this build in particular
never heard of any of those teams apart from SS and DI lol
just sayin, this build is superior to pretty much every other build for rangers
1- M4
2-E
3-Q
4-F
5-R

the videos in the first and third link are slow mo and have no audio
yes thieves can do it in less than a second
i like how you all accuse Sat for having a huge ego, but actually YOU are the ones that have it. all he needed to do was say " l2p" a few times and the kittenstorm was unleashed. and he didn’t even mean it an offensive way.
you are all so insecure about your own skills as a player, the moment someone came over and told u the truth ( because yes, you actually DO need to l2p, and so does everyone else playing this game, me included ), u started insulting and making fun of him. it’s quite pathetic, really.
what was ACTUALLY funny was some kitten calling him out for a 1v1. that was kittening hilarious hahahahahahahahaa
i agree with most of the points u make sat, if not all of them.
also, i like that suggestion someone made about reducing damage in hotjoin by 30%. while that may not be the perfect solution, i think it’s in the right direction. maybe Anet should balance hot join and tournaments differently. that would be a little too much work for them tho.
Hahahaha.
This thread made me laugh and face palm at the same time.
Just please stop trying to cry about elementalists while promoting yourselves as skilled players who definitely did EVERYTHING to counter elementalists. How about, if you guys are so skilled at thieves, warriors, or what have you, then why don’t you go make an elementalist and attempt the same thing, plus EVERYTHING you guys mentioned: OP burst, OP tankiness, OP CC, OP mobility, because that’s TOTALLY an accurate description of the profession, despite not being an elementalist. Go. I’ll be waiting.
By the way. Ether Renewal is a channel. Learn to interrupt it, please.
I did, quite a while ago.
Also, what kind of kitten uses Ether Renewal when he doesn’t have stability, Mist Form or knows that his opponent CC is on cd?
To be honest, I don’t even have to use it most of the time. All the regeneration and healing from water, combined with proper dodges are enough to survive in a 2v1, let alone 1v1, that’s why I’m in a dilemma about whether I should just use the glyph.
Just go D/D 0/10/0/30/30 with Valkirye’s Amu plus some random kitten runes like 5scholar/1 divinity for more damage, and you are good to go.
You MIGHT get your kitten handed to you by mesmers and good rangers if you are not any good yourself, but aside from those, you should be able to kitten on every other class 1v1.
The class is called Elementalist. It’s not called Mage, Wizard, Sorcerer or anything like that. It’s ELEMENTalist.
You know at first a new player would think that Ele is much harder to play due to the fact that he has twice as many weapon skills as other classes and constantly has to switch attunements.
It’s sadly not the case. It takes a few hours to get used to playing Ele, and when you do, you realize it’s actually the easiest class to play, it just takes more button mashing than other classes. Especially the bunker ones. It literally does NOT matter what your opponent does, just roll through your skills in all attunemets and make sure to save a dodge for when you switch to water so you can heal up with Evasive Arcana.
Yes, Ether Renewal is ONE of the reasons Ele is so strong right now, but it’s far from being the main problem.
who the kitten is vyndetta? all i see is people saying he carries teams and whatnot but it’s the first time i’m hearing of him. got me genuinely interested

42 rank thief lfg paids
10/10 would read again
I play a P/D Thief in sPvP and to answer your question, no I don’t think not being able to C&D off a pet would in any way be acceptable. It’s just a completely arbitrary suggestion that goes against fundamental game mechanics.
On the issue itself, I don’t really know Rangers well enough to give constructive feedback on how to beat P/D Thieves. All I can really say is that in all the PvP I’ve done, I have yet to meet a Ranger I could not kill. Some do put up a decent fight and may cause me to run if I haven’t got my CDs ready but in a straight up fight, Rangers don’t have a chance.
Then again, 90% of Rangers are pretty poor players so there’s that.
As for countering P/D Thieves in general, this depends a bit on their build. Denying them C&D can help, but it won’t always win your the fight. Especially with 15 points in Trickery they can afford to miss the odd C&D.
The only times I really die as a P/D Thief is when I get caught by extreme burst damage coupled with CC. Something like a Bullcharge + 100 Blades or a Knockdown while others are DPSing me all while Shadowstep is down can result in death.
But again, I don’t know Rangers well enough to give tangible advice on their specific mechanics.
Yes, is easy to play a OP class against a not Op class? thieves are hard to kill always, a nub thief is hard to kill a nub ranger is easy to kill, but this is due to the classes balance (zero).
To be honest any class with stealth ( and stealth is bugged now) is hard to kill, if you give rangers a stealth skill you will see QQ post in all forums in GW2 about ranger being OP, it is not the thief class what is broken, it is the stealth .
dat hate
bad thieves are probably the easiest kills in spvp.
also, p/d thief is useless in every part of the game except w3, which no real pvper gives a kitten about
I’ll repeat it again.
Diversion > Mirror Images > Decoy > Mind Wrack and he may have slipped Distortion into the end of his macro just in case.
To whoever was arguing that he used BF or whatever, YOU should watch the video again.
Look closely. Actually you don’t even need to look closely, it’s obvious, I don’t know what the kitten you are seeing.
You can clearly see the thief getting Dazed and lose target, which is more than enough proof that he used Diversion and Decoy.
I hate it when clueless people argue.
I posted this on the video comment section, but I’m gonna post it here as well to clear up any confusion.
That Mesmer used a macro, I guarantee you. His combo was basically this
He had 2 clones up. He used Diversion ( Daze and massive stacks of Vulnerability, probably 20-25 )> Mirror Images > Decoy > Mind Wrack. All this in LESS THAN HALF A SECOND
All the other comments like " You got hit by warlock " bla bla bla are clueless bullkitten.
Yes, you can actually pull this off without a macro, however, I highly doubt there’s a human that can do it THIS fast.
by the way, you wouldn’t believe how easy it is to macro in this game. you don’t need to hack and you don’t even need special software.
My suggestions.
Thief.
- Decrease Mug damage by 15%.
- Decrease Dagger auto attack damage by 15%.
- Decrease Sword auto attack damage by 10%
- Decrease Shortbow auto attack bounces to 2, instead of 3.
Mesmer
- Decrease the amount of Might stacks that Shattered Strength gives to 2 per illusion instead of 3.
- Make it so that once you’ve bound a set of illusions for Shatter, they no longer apply the damage buff from Compounding Power. Or just remove the trait entirely and change into something different.
This is what I have to say concerning burst classes. I think that those nerfs combined with a some buff to other specs ( like p/p Thief and condition Mesmer ) should bring more versatility and we’ll see people using different specs.
I didn’t mention Warriors because they are actually fine.
most of you don’t know what the kitten you are talking about.
however, i do agree that this buff was not needed. shatter mes were fine as they were.
centaur runes new meta.
not even kidding.
centaur runes new meta.
is this what you wanted anet? IS IT?!?!?!
