I have played in Tier One since HoD and even when we rolled 11 hour queues and faced 1500 ruin member sitting in queue the lag has NEVER EVER been as bad as last night.
I was DCed 4 times and thankfuly we didn’t have a queue in JQ Bl but man it was unplayable.
75% of our guild decided to log off just because it was not playable.
Anet needs to make the winner move up one spot and the loser down a spot. No teams will move unless there is a shock to the Elo rankings like a server all transfering away.
regardless what the issue is stealth is killing the roaming part of WvW. I solo roam all the time, I would say 90% of the people I face are thieves . Now days it’s not even single thieves anymore it’s an arms race. Since thieves find themselves facing other thieves now thieves run in packs of 2-3 . As a soloer 1 thief is fair 2 is not beatable 3 is insane.
Even if you post 100’s of videos of every class destroying the thief class you will still hear tears of the really bad players that still get beat by a GC thief.
Killimandros, thieves are not near the top of WvW OP list. If you can’t beat one thats fine. At least learn the class you are trying to get nerfed or you just sound bitter.

I could switch ele or mesmer. I never my guild say how many thievs do we have on? Good now we can do x and x. I do hear that every night with mesmers needing 4 of them. Now tell me how blink/ports/timewarps are not OP in WvW. Would i call for a nerf on a Mesmer.
People really need to stop making these threads. Slide over to the pvp forum and thieves are ranked near the bottom of best classes. I used to think Thieves were OP until I learned to play a bit better.
The OP with his Caltrops/shaman thief build sounds like he has no idea how a thief should work. Probably just got rolled by one.
Edit. Thievs bieng OP is so 2 months ago, join WvW and fight a good d/d ele if you want to talk OP. A midiocre d/d ele will steamroll a great thief plus 5 of his coolest friends. Mark my words, eles will get noticed soon.
With BG moving up and SoS going down eventually, there will be bigger coverage gap between tier 1 and 2. It will make tier 1 more competitive at least. The servers may change but the pool of players remain much the same.
In the longer run, it will be better for Kaineng and SoS as they don’t have to worry about european coverage anymore. A more balanced matchup is actually coming for tier 2 once BG moves up.
I’m not so sure we’ll (SoS) be able to stay in T2, or even T3 after all the smoke settles. Losing Agg and FoE made us totally uncompetitive in T1, losing MERC, ND and VoTF will kick us out of T1 and make it an uphill battle in T2, and losing the AoI alliance (ATac, Work, OnS, VI, DR) leaves even more question marks. It’s not a pretty picture, but I hope we don’t tank as bad as SBI and IoJ did. If we do I guess it will be the biggest losers tier….lol.

SoR, come on….. Choo you have big numbers but saying your can compete in NA is funny to anyone on JQ os SOS after the thrashing you got this weekend. I hope you guys team up with BG and trash JQ and knock them down a peg or two.
Also why are SoS and JQ running alts for the last two days? Your just fueling the SOR fire
Any server that is doing well is a sum of all it’s parts. PRX is a good guild but obviously can’t do much with out 40 other awesome guilds. The reason SoS is doing well is because they all have each others backs and work as a team. I’M sure the leaders of SOS guilds respect each other and know they need eveyone contributing to make it to tier 1.
Papaj, there were people from my guild as well in EB during PT! PrX did some heavy damage there is no doubt about it but shouts out to WORK and MERC also. I was shocked when EB was capped the first time during NA prime time but to see us do it 2 times in a 4 day span in a competitive match! My guild was bummed we lost all the gains also but we will be fighting the good fight and taking what we can.
Also, did prx take tonight off? Saw only a few on EB?

in SoS WvW BL, we dont have large active guilds, except these NA xfers.
normally there just some commanders leading ppl from 20 different guilds. even worse, some commanders r just like Daish Daish

a week ago, we were still in tier 4, and all we do is just go back home—zerg cap the whole map—go to sleep—let them cap everything back. we barely learn anything last week coz we holding everything…

I think what that Prx poster was saying is trying is great. If people try and we lose, no problem. Rivers you and SoS are good people. His post was a call to arms. Lets just get boots on the ground. We will learn as we go.
An open letter to the non-NA’s on Sea of Sorrows (ie Oceanics etc).
You put out the call to your server for NA guilds. You touted your WvW tenacity and ability and wanted help to make SoS more competitive in WvW. [PRX] and other NA guilds (RMA, FoE, TSym, AoI etc) answered the call and many of you welcomed us in a friendly fashion.
…
And then frankly, the non-NAs kitten it all away for candy corn.
To conclude, this is a request to those on SoS. If you are a WvW player and/or guild, show your heart and get out there and fight. Losing after putting up a good fight is nothing to be ashamed of, but losing because you’re afraid to fight or because of silly candy corn is unacceptable if you wish your server to be good at WvW. Your NA guilds will find a server with some sisters and brothers that will actually stand with them in a scrap.
My sincere hope is that last night was just an anomoly and you come to your senses and realize SoS can be an up and coming WvW server and you get back to fighting.

May I be frank? I find your position to be a bit presumptuous. You are new to the Sea of Sorrows, and I think you would be wise to stop, look and listen, before you presume to have suzerainty over our children here. To be blunt, I feel that you haven’t earned it, and I find your tone a bit overweening.
In my culture, Halloween is akin to a religious observance. We worship the gods of the harvest, and Halloween is sacred to us. We dress our children in festive clothing and celebrate the Day of the Dead to see out the spirits and welcome the bounty of the mother goddess. Pumpkins are never to be eaten. It’s opprobrious in our culture to defame Halloween.

Actually going to step in SoS’s Oceanic defense here and say this.
Alot of SoR knows Oceanic players do not have the best connections/internet providers. That patch was a good chunk. We also knew people would be distracted by the Halloween event.
Here was some of SoR’s ( or atleast EPIC’s thought process last night. )
" So, after the patch, straight to WvW, it’ll be empty most likely."
“Ok.”
" Oceanic people are going to be loading this patch for hours. We should make our move now."
“Ok.”

You can’t really blame the Oceanic players on SoS for losing everything last night when they couldn’t even connect. Instead, the NA players should have foreseen this and held out until the night time forces were on, instead of trick or treating. Can’t really blame NA at the same time for playing the game either.
We did this. No one showed up. After the patch we (sos)capped 100% of EB. Then we waited, and waited. 3am people log off. I think that is what the uppsetting part is about. The calvalry never showed. If it was a connection problem then tonight we shall see SoS power. If not, well, who knows.
Well a lot of people do like it. Yhe more options the better. Donèt like names showing…. keep it off. Dont like leaderboards….dont look. I just like options. Give us more of them plz
Ya they need a system that tracks peoples progress in WvW. Showing names should be an option for sure. Seems like a silly mistake. Also have some sort of guild ranking. Like your guild has held stonemist longer then anyone else so guilds get more competitve.
IMO there is a huge problem with the utmanned buff. It does nothing to help fix the problem! I was thinking that ANET should show the people in PVE what zones have the buff to encourage participation. Say if you clicked B, like how you see the orbs, also show what Borderlands are out manned. Also give the buffs a bit of meaning, like 25% increase on gate dmg Or automatic full stack of supply every 30mins.
As the way they are, it`s like rubbing salt on a wound.
Also, they should let people choose to hide or show their names in WvW. Far more people enjoy letting people know who they are battling then random faceless dude. That and have a WvW ranking system for guilds ect basicly get more vested intrest into it. It is a mmo after all
NO I agree. The hacking of the orbs is horrible necause it provides the owner insane power. It seems like an easy fix to change how they are obtained but what do i know.
I don’t think we need to be encouraging more server hopping to winning servers. Yes ANet could help us out a bit but until then there are things we can do on our own.
People need to focus on making the other servers more competitive instead of bandwagoning onto the best and most popular servers. Let’s get a list together of servers that need more help in terms of overall WvW population, proper night teams, and people/guilds who are willing to help organize and take charge.
God it makes me so mad that there are people like the OP out there and even more mad that he’s so comfortable and not ashamed that he’s willing to make a post. I think we should make list of server hoppers and where they are so people on their server know who their fairweather spineless friends are.
It sad because the big guilds that play this game do so for WvW. While they might not hold a candle in terms of overall population, when they leave (they are talking about it, and some alreay have) they will take a large chunk of the population with them because people follow their status. When they move on people will precieve this as the jumping of the shark and begin to mass exit.
Many just want ANEet to please address the issues and talk about the fixes.
I think it can`t end soon enough. People are quiting this game at an alarming rate and transfers are at the root of a lot of bitterness. My guild alone has lost 75% and people are saying they are never coming back because ANet is letting this non sense to continue. I love the game but MMO`s are based on community. As of right now, there is none.
Seeing as a good 40% bought and played this game fow wvw, it is sad to see any mentions are real fixes to the huge glaring issues of free transfers. There was only one small mention of it along the lines of `yep we know there is a problem and someday we might look into it`in the mean time servers are dying and have no community because people go to FoM servers and ruin it.
It`s strange that they can build a great game but will fail just like WH failed nless they fix what everyone is screaming about since BWE
Titan alliance said that free transfers would destroy WvW in the first week of the game. After 3 weeks HoD was so stacked, WvW became a bore (sorry JQ). After TA said they were going their seperate ways to make WVW more challenging the hordes transfered to JQ the second strongest server, making it a juggernaught. THEN the Oceanics from TA joind BG to try and give JQ some fight. Guess what happens next! All the JQ and ET guys follow them to BG and make it just as stacked as HoD (if not more so) JQ is a shell of what it was a week ago and BG is bored and transfering servers for a day (SoR) just to ruin matches and prove a point at the same time driving away people from the already low population on all three of the tier 3 servers.
I think ANet knows they need to stop free transfers, I just don`t think they realize it is THE BIGGEST problem the game has.
SoS and SoR need more coverage. Both will get destroyed in tier 2. A group of BG Oceanics transfered to SoR and took the whole mao in like 6 hours. It`s still a top 4 with 5 and 6 way below at this point just like when HoD was in charge except the top 4 are close now.
Ya I feel bad for the Old SoR players. Having all the bored Blackgate Oceanics join you guys on saturday night when there was an epic match happening ruined it for most everyone. Go to bed on Sat night SoS has Stone mist and a 2k lead with the PPT all within 110 points and wake up to a map that SoS owned nothing on and lost SM and a 400 ppt difference.
Congrats BG (and some old HOD) guilds for hurting a tier 3 match because you were bored. Next time wait till the match is over.
I feel as if those guilds that transfered last night are just trying to break the game seeing how they transfer enmass each week.
Some good ideas and some bad ones. I love transfering to an enemy server joining them on the map getting thier TS info and standing on thier catapult behind the door so no one can defend on it. I also like to spam map chat leading them into my zerg. I empty out supply from keeps and i build blueprints in horible spots so my new team (enemy) will waste their supply when My team trebs it from the bay. Me and 8 friends have single handedly caused a tier one server to loose a whole map for a night. Was too funny.
Honestly people are blowing this transferring stuff way out of proportion. I mean honestly these HoD people feel JQ took their early am est playerbase during this match? I cannot even touch that one. And ofc when this whole transfer thing gets brought up JQ was winning by 1k and shortly after actually lost the lead.
So why would people transfer off a server who was pretty much had a share of the lead
In addition alot of people don’t get the fact that a full server can’t be transferred to. Now I am sure there are times where JQ drops to high from full but whole guilds switching over I just don’t buy at all
I’m sure many individuals transfer to JQ from alot of servers, but not full guilds to make a whole lot of difference.
I mean its only wednesday and I know for a fact on Monday in the morning (7am est) we had undermanned buff on all maps and I personally watched HoD turn the JQ map from blue to green and start on the HoD map all in a span of less then 2 hours.
So my hats off to them who fought for their server when most of the rest of your server save a few guilds like disappeared.
Everyone knows the transfer system sucks and everyone knows it effects matches but I still think it is way overblown
HOD went from 5 hour queues for EB on Fri to outmaned buffes on Saturday after TA departure hit the street.

TheReign, I call shananigans on your over 2 k badges claim. I have 12k kills and don`t have nearly that many. I estimate the drop rate to be 5% atm. Mind you I miss a lot of badges do to pushing TL off our map
In the last 24 hours I logged 1129 kills in wvw (thank you ruin) I collected 168 badges. I thought I was just getting really unlucky but I had a feeling something had changed.
Also I do miss a ton of bags due to pushing out zerg and not going back.
Also JQ was a joke. We punished SBI this week for saying they were tough last week and here come Jqq Thinking they are good when we dont even attack them… Grats?
Free transfers were the worst idea ever to make into a live game. It has completly destroyed WvW. Servers mean nothing when you can hop to a better one any time your ego is hurt. I thought it was a good idea before on paper but seeing it on live…….Seriously Anet, letting it go on for this long when the WHOLE community is against it could be the straw that broke the cammels back.

Like I said before, SBI should thank their lucky stars ET did not attack them all last weekend. SBI is already in last, this is strange since we on HOD are focusing on Jq.
