It is really going to hurt if the mini pets are not a precursor to SAB opening. Until reset tomorrow night, I will be logged in next to the Box. I know Anet may not care, but I owe it to Moto for the great times I had.
I have a character parked in front of the Box, continue coin safely tucked in her inventory. I have hope for the next two days, but if the box doesn’t open, I will be ready for the riot party.
Thank you, Anet. I will happily spread the word to everyone I know that the story will be playable again.
I just want to be clear that we haven’t announced a release date for the Personal Story Restoration content yet. We’re posting information on Tuesday.
Thanks for the clarification; I got too excited. I will hold off and continue to wait as patiently as possible.
Thank you, Anet. I will happily spread the word to everyone I know that the story will be playable again.
I would love for my player (the commander of the pact) to have a real home instance with something more than candy corn and gifts for me to steal from the orphans. I know the devs are always swamped with “better” things to do, but this is one of the things I have on my “wishlist”.
I have been stocking up on the tonics in hopes that this would happen. I don’t know why Anet chose to turn the town clothes into tonics only to release outfits shortly after unless they were worried that the town clothes would negatively affect the sale of outfits. Now we know that outfits sale well, they should be able to turn those clothing tonics into outfits or armor pieces. I also am hopeful for a tonic wardrobe for the non-clothing ones.
I am happy to receive a response but that doesn’t mean I like the response. I know anet doesn’t want to dedicate resources to the project but they already made the same choice with dungeons and while many people don’t like it, we accepted the choice and continue to play them “as is”. I, like many in this thread already have, am asking for SAB to be returned permanently “as is”. I played SAB, I know there were problems, but I would rather have it as it was than not have it because there was problems. There were bugs in the Living Story but I dealt with it; I will deal with what is in SAB. Please allow me to reenter the Box.
Every time I see this topic I am in support of it. I love my endless tonics but I rarely get to use more than my favorite two because I don’t have the inventory to store it on my main two characters.
I would lovingly appreciate if I could toggle the shoulder pieces on my outfits. There are many outfits where they are simply too big or clip too much for my tastes.
I enjoy outfits. I would rather that they continue to add armors to the GAME and outfits to the GEMSTORE.
Yes, my Sylvari’s hair clips through, but it clips through most things, so do my Asura’s ears but I rarely wear head pieces. My only wish is that I could not show the shoulders like I can not show the helm.
I think there are some people who keep mixing up being “entitled” with “caring about people who don’t want to or cannot afford to buy the expansion”.
I am worried about the PvP and WvW additions hurting the community. In WvW having your home borderland be new map could instantly murder some smaller servers that already do not have coverage. There are also dragon ranked pvp players who do not like PVE who may be forced to buy the full expansion to play one more map.
For the new players, there is very little incentive to buy Heart of Thorns until they are level 80 majority of the PvE content requires you to be level 80. This only hurts leveling players.
Also, I just realized that the new “Mushroom Jumping Mastery ability” Anet told IGN about in their interview came straight out of SAB. So maybe there is some SAB love coming.
I am still hoping that we will see a release of SAB in the down time until Heart of Thorns but I also expected another festival too. Sadly, neither Dragonbash or the Zepherite Festival would make any sense given we just lost the pact. This means we are probably looking at another Queen’s Gauntlet and hopefully some SAB.
Honestly, I want this content to be permanent just so it is there when I have a bad day at work because it was the perfect thing to cheer me up.
Last red post on the main personal story post (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/My-Greatest-Fear-Plotline/page/11#post4753614) said they were looking into a possible fix with no eta. I also believe that this is the most obvious proof that they do little to no testing before they release things to us.
This is also where I ask if Heart of Thorns is going to have a story line that makes sense and if they are going to “fix” the story later to not make any sense.
I doubt I am alone in wondering if after they give us Heart of Thorns they are going to cut up the narrative for unknown reasons and then months later tell us if they either did it for our benefit or they plan on fixing it at some point.

Will the Revenant have the same Personal Story as the original classes?
I ask this because it has the potential to affect the (already screwed up) Personal Story timeline. How can you play a class during the battle with and defeat of Zhaitan if the class (combat style and known magic) wasn’t discovered until Rytlock traversed through the Mists becoming the first Revenant?
I am hoping that the Revenant’s Personal Story will be separate and a personal trip through the Mists.
Well, Captain I think you may have discovered Anet’s secret storytelling strategy. I joke but it is disappointing that it still hasn’t been fixed. Last I read in the forums, Anet has a plan to fix it, but we didn’t even get their trademarked “soon”.
Since we have an undetermined length of non-Living Story ahead, Anet can you please plug the box back in?
Anet gives us really cool little items like the Zepherite airship model and Scarlet’s journal but we don’t have anywhere to put these cool little treasures. So instead of displaying them in my home or a Hall of Monuments they sit on a character that has dedicated her life to being my “trophy collector”.
But I agree the home instance needs to be a place where I do more than steal the orphans’ candy and presents from their tree I hid across the block (because I am apparently the horrible kind of person who steals their ornaments and when they give me their tree I don’t put it where they can access it. )
There are some pretty nice changes in this. Personally I have two separate suggestions.
First, can we have a one key command that takes us directly to the equipment page and a separate key command that takes us to the “everything else” portion of the hero panel? It is so annoying when you are counting on those few seconds OOC to switch armor sets and what you get is the last random panel you logged into and the moment is lost.
Second, since you are already putting the trailers in the LS journal can you also put the cut scenes in after we complete the episode?
I am just hoping that Sylvari PCs will be have a separate story or at least something more than responding dialogue options. It will feel really wrong if Sylvari have the same story was everyone else given all that has/will happen.
Thank you TheReaperTheFourthHorsemen.
PS.: About being killed/arrested by the other nations, I would expect the PC to step in and to not let it happen. Canonically, he is one of the PC’s best friends, after all. I know that he just have to say “Commander, to me” and I will trot to his side at any time :T
I am not sure how well the PC is going to be able to save him if he or she is sylvari also. My biggest concern about the content to follow is that sylvari PCs will be treated just like they were humans so anet doesn’t have to script anything “extra”.
I really just wish anet would confirm if the cut scene with the Pact’s possible defeat is canon or if it is an in-game trailer of things to come that the player knows but the character does not.
I can see them charging 10 dollars for the complete season two package (maybe 1000 gems). I find anything more unbelievable as all of the content I truly enjoyed was the open world content. The actual story line and plot has more holes and unanswered questions than fulfillment. The only episode I enjoyed for story content was The Library and Glint’s Layer. It felt like a mini dungeon and I enjoyed running it multiple times. The rest of the content was less than awesome. There were some decent fights but the poorly written story overshadows that for me.
Don’t worry, they should starve to death soon, given that we stole the tree and ornaments they were going to sell for food. Besides, I thought one of the devs said they were going to burn or something.
I would still prefer having a link to the archives. Right now you are asking us to either save a pdf copy of every archived forum we may ever want to read or save a link to every archived forum we may ever want to read. What if next month I want to look up the lore associated with Topic X that was referenced in a future LS episode or festival? I am going to have to hope some who did read and post in that forum is willing to recreated it or saved the link so when I am forced to make a new post asking such information someone can link to the old or re-parse it from memory.
TL;DR: This is going to create a lot of new posts that ask a question to be replied to by the hero who happened to save that post or is willing to re-write it from memory. If there were still available we could simply search for them.
Anet, If I promise to buy a bank tab when they go on sale, will you promise to make crests and geodes a currency (a real one that I don’t have to keep in my bank inventory). I get it you want to make money off of us but there is a cap to how many bank tabs I can buy per account. There is also a cap to how many character slots I can add, so theoretically there is going to be a problem at some point. I also don’t love the idea that I am supposed to buy character slots for the purpose of expanding my personal bank space.
Since we are rebuilding Lion’s Arch, as Commander of the Pact, can my character(s) finally have a home instance in Lion’s Arch?
Realistically, it would only make sense for the Commander to be stationed in the most prominent city. This is especially true since my character(s) is (are) now playing referee at the Summit and such.
I finally got my last class to level 80. I l would love to go save Zojja from the fun house but as someone who like to do all of the story over a few days (it feels more real) this isn’t going to happen until anet fixes this. I know Zojja is strong, she will survive until anet comes to their senses…. I hope.
I refuse to have my story journal look like my ele has short term memory loss and cannot keep the details straight.
I have advised everyone I know to wait to play the story until anet makes it make sense again. I am waiting to play it on the character I made for the NPE. I brought a few people to the game recently, but I do not want their first experience of the “new” PS to be their last because it didn’t make sense.
Hi anet, I just wanted to say this still makes me motion sick. I will keep reading the patch notes.
I will take any love shown toward the home instance. How about some place that I can actually pretend my character owns? I am the Commander, boss and summit referee, you would think I would have a place to call home. Instead, I just steal the orphaned kids candy corn everyday.
I would love to see certain minis running around, but I would have to consider it a home first. Currently, there are random people I have helped walking around without dialogue, nodes (which I loved earning) a skill point and that is it. I don’t even have a bed in most racial home instances. I want a place to show off all of the amazing things I have done and collected.
I don’t know how or why anet is planning on adding raid if they have already given up on improving dungeons / fractals. I loved the large scale content that marionette added, but I have only seen good raid content come from games using the trinity class system. If all we have to do is stack here, range there and WoR/Feedback the big guy while knowing where to dodge then how would it be different than our current fractals content (that already doesn’t get love).
I am also concerned that the raids will simply be a bigger party size for content that is already seen as “difficult” by casual players. If anet is truly after casual players, how are they going to make and maintain difficult content that requires knowledge and practice to do it well.
Anet would also have to provide proper rewards for the challenge, which they also currently do not do with their fractal content.
TL;DR Raiding is about more than upping the party size, it is a true team effort that requires organization and effort from everyone to gain the rewards deserving of that time and effort. I don’t know if anet would actually want to implement this if their true target is casual players.
I hate to say that I would be willing to pay gems for permanent access to SAB (since it feels wrong limiting it to only some players) but I see it on par with the current pay for LS (if you missed it). Currently, if you miss an episode of season two Living Story you can buy it with gems and play it whenever you want. Anet, please give me the option to use my infinite coin in the same manner as the LS journal.
As another poor soul prone to motion sickness, please give me the option to turn this feature off. or let me re-position the camera once and have it stay there until I move it again.
I have many feelings towards SAB; extreme love, wonderful memories, intense frustration and many moments of annoyance. After reading the guildmag interview (http://www.guildmag.com/guild-wars-2-interview-part-1-general-game-living-world/), I was very disappointed.
First, I hope Anet invests in more PR because most of this interview provided a poor view of GW2 and Anet.
Second, I am in agreement with most SAB fans that if there is no future planned for SAB, World 1 and World 2 should become permanent content and we should accept that the bugs will not be fixed and there may or may not be any future content added.
One thing I would like to see in the Home Instances is a place to store those little mementos you get through the Personal Story, like the Infinity Ball or the Lion’s Arch banner (when you take back Claw Island).
I was really hoping this will be implemented with LS Season Two.
I also wish I was able to have a home instance in Lion’s Arch eventually. While I enjoy the mining nodes and such, I would also like a banner displaying my current guild emblem over my door and furniture I can interact with.
As someone who wants to earn all of the traits, this is extremely annoying. This also happens to be a really important trait for my build. I submitted a ticket and screen shot in-game a week ago. Hopefully, anet will fix this soon.
I actually love it as is. If they change the dye channels we are probably going to lose the lines that separate the shoes from the stockings.
I also would love subtitles on EVERY VIDEO anet posts. During my time in university, I learned ASL and found that many deaf people I met there were gamers of some kind and one of the main things they were looking for was subtitles in game and in informational game releases.
I also want to be able to watch the videos while I eat lunch at work. And just being honest, some of the videos have audio problems at the beginning that cause a loss of information.
I just want to add more costume pieces to my purple tree (let’s be fair, she already has dragon wings and rides a boom). I don’t want them to do anything except move like my wings.
I realize the argument is that if I want a tail, I should play a charr, guess what I have one and even as the smallest female one can make, she is too big for my preferences. Plus, I just love my purple tree. I find it hard to believe most charr players, play them solely because they are the only race with tails.
Edited for clarity.

I would pay gems for fox ears and a fox tail. All of my characters are named something Kitsune for a reason; I am obsessed with them. Ears and tails please, preferably dyeable so they can match my enameled reign ancestry outfit.
When the devs start incorporating S1 into journal, I hope they start with SAB. There are days I really miss the SAB content.
Power (major), Vitality and Healing Power.
Also, Vitality (major), Toughness and Healing Power.
Thanks for asking.
I greatly enjoy both lore and story. I prefer games with strong lore and strong story writing. I feel that there have been times when GW2 has succeeded and failed. I would be interested in Anet creating a survey to see how players feel about the individual LS instances. I know we have the forums, but I think it could be beneficial for Anet’s lore and story development and so that players who care about how the lore and story are being used could feel more heard.
I also believe that players who do not care about the lore and / or the story should be able to check that option.
As far as PvE is concerned I believe that the story, lore and LS should be strong. With WvW it is less important to me to see LS. As I don’t spend too much time in PvP I cannot really comment on LS, lore or story.
Have a wonderful day everyone.
