I work from home, so it’s easy to slip right into the game and addict-up. I make myself get up after my work day and give my pool table some love. My times for GW2 is after supper on weeknights (stop by 10), then quite a bit on the weekends.
For me, it also helps not to chase dallies and to step out of storyline strings from time to time…
Only have a 1/3 of Druid unlocked so far, and my Necro is still L20-something…
HoT GotL ? hmmm….
I do.
I use a (3 yr old?) Asus 17" with an original i7 core, 8G RAM, Windows 7 64 bit, and an Nvidia Geforce GT 428M. For my laptop, I’ve found it does very well on many games, even though it’s “not up to snuff” by required hardware lists.
I’ve looked up your Lenovo Y700, and your hardware should smoke mine!
I get some server/internet lag at times, but most times – graphics/sound/playability is all fine.
Good luck!

All,
I’m relatively new to GW2, but now I’ve got a few classes to L80 with a couple more in the wings, I’m looking to start playing with Fractals – so wanted to ask which classes are best suited (or most useful) to use there (for Fractal Dungeons).
Right now my L80’s are my Ranger and my Guardian, but my Elementalist is coming up fast as well, and I am exploring all the classes right now – starting to really like my Mesmer and Warrior…
Any thoughts?
Thanks!
Using (Rare) Unidentified Brown Dye as an example, there are 25 common dyes, 10 uncommon dyes, and 8 rare dyes possible.
Does anyone know if the odds are even across all categories, i.e. an equal 1/43 chance each (in this case) for any given color, or does the drop rate varies between common, uncommon, and rare, making the odds of getting a common color more than 1/43, and the odds of getting an uncommon or rare color less than a 1/43 chance?
Anyone know? Thanks!
I know healing is affected by Healing Power attribute, but are there critical heals in GW2, and if so, is healing affected by Precision and Ferocity???
Me and a couple of others just started playing GW2 a few months ago and have all got our first L80’s. My friend was all excited about his thief switching from 2 daggers to the staff and doing a lot more damage. I’ve got matching greatsword and longbow for my ranger, and the greatsword clearly gets things dead quicker.
Started me thinking – Are straight-up weapon combos (all things being equal) basically equivalent in overall DPS between 2 weapons vs 2 handed weapons, or how should I compare?
Also, melee seems to do more DPS than ranged (as it should), but looking at identical (really identical) weapon stats, I’m wondering how to compare that too?
Obviously, skill choice is a major factor in choosing weapons, but I’d like to only talk about the weapons apart from class skills in this thread please!
Thanks!
…Long answer: It depends on how concerned you are with having the best stats for your level. Buying from the TP is the only reliable way to get level appropriate rare equipment, most of what you’ll get as drops will be greens and blues….
To offer some contrast, I do major improvements on my characters (from Trading Post) at various milestone levels – I would recommend Level 20, 40, and 60 for checking their gear and replacing weaker stuff with level appropriate, without spending more than about 2-3g, and then at L80 go nuts and get the best Exotic everything, upgraded with exotic everything – which depending on your build could be 30-40g.

So I’m leveling my Gliding masteries – I’ve finished Basic and Updraft, but still have to do Leaning, Stealth, Advanced, etc…
I guess my choices are Verdant Brink, Auric Basin, Tangled Depths, Dragon’s Stand, Bloodstone Fen and Ember Bay for Heart of Maguuma masteries. So far I’ve explored most of Verdant Brink and have just breached into Auric Basin a little bit.
My goal is to train my gliding through Advanced as quickly as possible, so I’m asking for suggestions – what are some good strategies to level through these 3 masteries ASAP?
Thanks!
That’s really disappointing – I was expecting instanced glider training – like a progressive tutorial & obstacle course kind of thing.
So when I fill the mastery bar, they will just pop out on their own when I jump while falling, or will I need to equip them somehow?
Thanks!
Trying to get my Gliding and very confused.
Picked up L80 (Woot!)
Started the Hart of Thorns storyline
Completed the Prologue and Torn from the Sky
I now have the following instruction: "Return to the jungle to earn masteries. Earn your Glider Basic Mastery to continue your story.
So I exited the story (had just started the 3rd chapter), my current location is the Verdant Brink. In my Masteries log it says my Mastering Rank for Gliding is at 61% and that I must complete it to finish the story.
Great! So where do I go or how do I initiate the training???
Thanks!

Hornswoggle,
Thanks, that helps a lot. I went back into the game and found weapon level in the recipe tool-tip, as you said. (I been blind)
I also went back into the GW2 Wiki and looked up the inscription, and there it was in the table (I been blind twice).
Thanks for your help!

I’m a fairly new player and have just started crafting (weapon smith). Between the GW2 wiki and another (old) crafting site, I’ve got my lead character (L57) crafting gear too high level for me to use, and I have 5 other characters below L30.
What I have not been able to find is a guide, or preferably a table, showing what weapon features/materials change the minimum required level for a player to use the crafted weapon. To be clear, I know what crafting level I need to MAKE the weapon, but I can never know what Weapon Level I am going to end up with.
Anyone who can explain or point to a reference somewhere? Thanks in advance!
