From T5 Ruby to T2 now …

Editing to add, my last match, I was even barked at by two players for being “rude” for swapping. Yes, you read that right, rude for swapping. And, it was a match of 5 Ruby’s vs 4 Ruby’s and a Sapphire. Guess which side I was on and which had the Sapphire? Yeah, I’m basically nothing more than cannon fodder. I’d love to let someone use my account and experience this. There’s just no words to describe it really.

Are you me? 2 days ago everything was going fine 9 wins out of 10 games. Slowly climbing ruby as I play only few games per day. So yesterday I log in and merely start my pvp session in the morning.. and what do you know? last 10 games 8 losses 2 wins(7 lost in a row) Went from Ruby t5 to t3. People I’m teamed up with aren’t just bad at pvp they literally have no understanding how pvp works, what are the rotations, they are snowballing mid and die 1 by 1, die to an animal, keep farming far and die repeatedly, refuse to swap professions when it’s obvious we gonna loose before the match even starts.

WTF happened? did I go from half decent pvper to utter kitten in one night while sleeping?

Have they tweaked matchmaking with Tuesday update? Seriously what is happening?

5 pages of pro advices from ‘amazing’ players who can single handedly cary 4 scrubs against 5 competent pvpers.. All these pro’s here, giving you advice on how to ‘git gut’ to advance in ruby are the part of the problem. And the problem is simple – artificially inflated mmr. This is where all the evil comes from and there is no fixing or improving it.

How does season 2 work: you win, your mmr goes up, you get matched with even better players, you win more, your mmr goes up even more. Even if you were carried to ruby by 4 competent pvpers all the way. You can be the worst player who belongs in amber/emerald, but season 2 system thinks you are a ruby quality pvper.

What happens when 50% of pvp population gets to ruby this way(may it be lucky winning streaks or pure grind) you get hundreds of people who have a skill of amber/emerald sitting in ruby waiting for winning streaks and other peeps to carry them even further(I’m pretty positive there are such ‘pvpers’ in diamond too) so when a decent, not a pro, lets say actual ruby skill pvper gets to ruby tier, he gets ‘partners’ of amber/emeralnd quality, because system reads their mmr in the same level as all the other actual ruby skill players and now you have a match were you have to carry 3/4 ambers to win againts 4/5 actual ruby players. This is where your blow out matches happen and this is why they are so frequent. These matches are unwinable and no amount of pro in you will win a match 1/2 vs 4/5.

So please stop giving your bullkitten advice on getting better and striving to be a better player than you are and open your eyes. This system is doomed and there is no way around it. All we can do is finish this season and hope anet will learn from this horrid mistake and improve in season 3.

I saw a norn with Unbound today and it moved with him and kept reforming when he was moving, never seen this before. Mine doesn’t have any animations and is stiff. Same as other countless characters I’ve seen. How do you get it to move around?

First of all they were added just lately, I believe with HoT introduction (probably to give more mastery points for core masteries.
So, unless you are sure you have done them before HoT, well, you have to do them.

Going through achievements I’ve noticed that Karka Queen and all 3 Wurmslayer achievements have been reset to 0/1. Any particular reason why did this happen, is it a bug?

From my perspective it looks like you’re locked into running sub-50’s for nearly no chance at ascended, which is required in order to get the AR to run higher levels which actually have a decent chance. Like other said, attuned rings exist and you seem to not know at all about it. To reach 100 you need 94 AR from your trinkets.

Accessories : 7 × 2
Amulet : 7

For a total of 94. That’s want you need to eventually reach 150 at the lowest cost. Because with +7 on all 6 armor + 2 on weapon it mean 94 + 8 x +7 = 94 +56 = 150

2) The game don’t owe you ascended gear. Like I said before you can reach level 68 without armor or weapons, but if you wait on drops to get to level 100 it will take a long time. On average you gonna drop 1 ascended box (armor or weapons) each week. So it should take you around 2 months to get your full armor if you do a daily 51-100 each day. If that’s not fast enough for you, you can craft the pieces you need.

Reinstalled recetly, have 1 question. How do you get initial +5 on back/rings to +7. When I double click on infusion to apply it to back/ring theres no option to pick which one I want to replace.

Reinstalled gw2 today, checked new pvp league system, ok looks interesting. Can’t figure out few things. After winning 3 ranked matches achievement League Dominator – recruit says 0/1 and there is no progress. Also after last win didn’t get a pip. Not saying anything is broken, but could someone explain whats going on here.

EDIT: checked other achievement, Conqueror. It’s at 2/x so system simply didn’t count last match at all. Well that explains it. Does this happen a lot?

I’d just like to thank all the people out there that complained about the high req for hero points. Had full Herald on day 2. Spent 20 hours farming hero points in central Tyria on day 1 so I could be a day 1 Herald. Thank you for wasting my time.

If you feel your time was wasted that means you didn’t enjoy farming those hp’s. In this case you should be happy they lowered the amount required as your next character will take less time to get to spec you want, hence less ‘wasted time’.

If you enjoyed it, that means you would’ve finished all hp’s regardless if you need them for elite spec or not, in this case I fail to see how your time was wasted as you would’ve spent exact amount of time you spent originally.

If you wanted a challenge, you got it. Congratulations, you managed to get elite spec that previously required 400hp’s. You got your joy out of the task and should feel great! Why would feel your time was wasted ?

So if you are unhappy about ‘wasted time’ you should rejoice as they lowered the requirement for elite spec – no more wasted time for future characters!!

So I have 4 beta character slots and it lets me create a character at lvl1 and I can see new areas on the map. Isn’t it suppose to work only on bwe’s ? Does that mean I can make a character any time, level it to 80 and go explore new zones?

If the answer is no, how does it actually work, do we get lvl 80 character on beta weekends or do we have to level it from scratch in those few available days? What about gear?

Is there a way to assign Fn key to perform a function on Mac? I do realise it performs like a command key, where you can’t assign it because it’s tied in deep into OS X where you can’t loose it’s original function. But I feel like I could do without Fn original function while playing. Maybe there’s an app for that?

From what I understood you are complaining about your lack of time to join a green team, you find it unfair and want it to be ‘fixed’ ?

The thing that baffles me is that there is no entry requirement for RANKED arena. That means I can buy a game today, have never played any mmos or video games before, make a character get into ranked arena and ruin games for everyone I am teamed up with.

Suggestion: you can enter ranked arena only if you have certain mmr rating or have played a minimum number of games, or have at least 100wins(just and example).

I myself haven’t played ranked pvp in a while and got around to play it only recently while practicing in unranked and I definitely wouldn’t mind if I’m not allowed to join ranked before I get better. Played 3 games last night( I realise this is very low sample size), got team mates that 3 cap 1 point, die to an animal or loose fights 4v2 or can’t recap a point 3v1 while I’m downing 2 players on my own (had a 3v1 that I’ve won) and they still manage to loose 2 points to other team. And all this happening in ranked.

Unranked arena existing for a reason, so you can practise and get better, why not leave ranked arena for people who at least understand the basics of pvp? maybe make 2 leaderboards so that people who are clueless and still feel the need to see the progress can check their points in unranked leaderboards. Maybe make both arenas give leaderboard points and rename them so it doesn’t confuse people.

I know I’m just throwing random stuff out there and not giving any real solution. And I’m sorry if it sounds like a rant, but this has to stop. pvp is not fun at this point.

While I see tacos being a viable food for some wvw backline builds, my personal long time dream is main hand warhorn on my engi.

There is something seriously wrong with your community SFR. Being a former Desolation player, I have had many chances to fight against SFR and the community was never this bad – it was actually rather cool, at least that was how I could see it from the outside.

All of this. You have to understand one simple thing, there are no WvW players on SFR this week. You are fighting bandwagoners and upscaled clueless pve achievement hunters. Theres is nothing ‘wrong’ with SFR community, wvwvw community is standing in the queue. Yes yes all servers have queues and all servers have pve achievement hunters. VS is made out of pug’s where SFR is a guild wvwvw server. When server which whole wvwvw backbone is made of guilds can’t get any of those guilds on the map the obvious outcome happens. SFR pve’rs and recent transfers are so stupid that they don’t realize this simple thing. They’ve been asked to let guilds in and give SFR a fighting chance against VS, but they don’t care or don’t even understand english on international server so here you go.

I respect PS guilds a lot and have many friends on this server and they know why they are ‘winning’ against SFR atm, all I wanted to do was to shed a little light on clueless forum warriors from all sides. Hopefully pve’rs will soon understand that they are not getting their achievements with out wvw guilds on SFR and crawl back to where ever they came from and next match ups will be back on track.

SPRT killed it 4 times, 1 on main Piken server, 3 times on overflow with a help of few other Piken guilds, not sure if it should count towards Piken kills?
Up until now SPRT vs Tequatl 4:4 we have 50% success/fail rate

seriously what the hell is up with new ‘blue’ ? On minimap when blue taking green’s objects you can’t tell the difference if it’s already taken or not. This was a horrible decision. Why fix something that is not broken? Change them back please.

soo I’ve used Twisted Watchwork Portal Device and nothing happened. It makes your character fall down on the floor aaaand.. thats it. Didn’t get ported anywhere.

It wasn’t the case yesterday, but today I’ve got 2 major bugs with Liadri:

1. Some one is fighting before you, for example Subject-7. They die, you get ported in. Now you fight Liadri with all the npc’s/bombs + subject-7 with all extra oozes that have spawned from previous fight.

2. You pick a champion you previously fought, you get a message saying: it’s your turn and nothing happens. you just stand there and watch empty arena. Then new people are coming and they go in and fight with no problems. When you try to talk to ring master, he says you are already in queue. Same person is coming back again and again and they go in as if I’m not even there so another ticket wasted

Anet, if these bugs are know issues and the fix is coming any time soon, please let us know so we can wait for a fix. Or if it’s gonna stay like this I’ll prolly have to waste the rest of the tickets.

Probably wasn’t added because it would have messed up their nice big purdy wallet screen layout (ugly as sin).

What I find funny is the pristine relics weren’t added, but the normal relics which are required in mf recipes and cant be removed from wallet were.

Guess whoever came up with this idea has never upgraded or downgraded an essence.

so basically we traded an option to infuse rings/backpieces to just have a wallet with all the relics where we can’t use them(except npc vendor). Hmm I hope this design isn’t on purpose and was jut a mistake. Or maybe they have changed the recipe so it doesn’t require relic anymore? I really doubt that tho..

Laurels are the same type of daily currency as pristine relics, why leave them out? doesn;t make any sense

Some prehistory. Several wvw/pvp oriented guilds, just to mention a few names: VoTF, BuLL, DSun, VM, GH, SPRT, CoN, ECL had an idea of making GVG tournament in custom pvp arena. We, guild THIS IS SPARTA, bought an arena and tried to organize an event. All seemed good until we realized that after we gathered 2 teems of 10 people each, no more SPECTATORS could enter the arena. Which means we can’t have a referee, frapser nor any additional spectators. Which basically turns this event into regular spvp match which we can do in many random arenas.

Our suggestion/request. Could you please give us an expanded custom arena option with 20v20 or 30vs30 or any other number. We are willing to pay addition for this option on top of what we have already paid for current 10v10 arena. Or at least give as an opportunity to add more spectators to let us promote this kind of tournament format. I am sure this is good promotion not only for GvG pvp format but for a game itself. These kind of community driven tournaments could attract more pvp oriented people to GuildWars2 which in addition would attract people to official GW2 tournaments.

Yes I do know we can minimize it, still, why is it there?

I used to be able to tank Lupicus and get hit like 3/4 times and still survive. This time I couldn’t even survive 2 hits. Yes, sometimes Lupicus was ‘Empowered’ cus my noob team couldn’t even kill the kitten grubs after he went to phase 2.

I’m super frustrated atm cus I’ve lost all hope in completing the last few Arah runs to complete my armor set…

tbh i don’t think anything major happened to arah, quality in ppl went down the drain. I’ve failed 4 pug runs today and have no hope anymore. Even if you have 1 or 2 guys who actually know what they are doing, you can’t 2 man the whole dungeon(theoretically you could, but time wise its not efficient). It’s really sad that ppl spoiled by cof 1 button mashing runs are incapable of simple tasks like dodging.

The game also gave us Castles and keeps and siege, and a score board.

It’s not even funny to mention again that there are players on every map and from every server, every night, or morning, or afternoon. Or that VS is not making more points in the night, morning, afternoon or prime in the past two weeks.
And VS did score an awful lot of points in those “low-pop” timeframes previous weeks, just because you were not able to accept the rules and adapt.

Glad to see Darwin’s theory on Evolution is still on its way, you adapted ; reading those comments made me doubt it for a moment.
