The people who say “If it’s red it’s dead” seem so boring. So many times I’ve just ran up to someone and stood beside them, run around together after using a tonic or try to help someone from server X getting ganked by server Y. I’ve also ran around with a random dude in a BL killing people from the third server, all of this happened without even needing to talk to the other person. Why do I do this? Because why not. Honestly just going after every red is so monotonous and it’s usually the people who only run in groups of 10+ that usually go after every red.
Why is it so hard to just let them duel? I’ve never seen anyone dueling when a map is queued (inb4 this one time 2 years ago I saw these 2 guys dueling when the map was queued). Yes people duel in an area with a decent amount of traffic because most of the time it’s spontaneous and eventually people running through that area join in to duel.
WvWers are so toxic to anyone that doesn’t play their gamemode the same way they do. You’ve already got people automatically defending OP, chances are the people standing around did tell OP to stop but probably only noticed after killing the 2 downed. You’ve got one dude hating on duelers saying “communicating with duelers is the only wrong thing you can do”. Another saying WvW is not created for roamers or “dulers”, yea no kitten everything is fair game but is it so hard to just run past people dueling.
Again these duels are not pre-planned, most of the people dueling are random roamers who don’t know each other. Telling them to go to the guild hall or a PvP arena is asinine because the point is to duel someone you happen to randomly come across and you think they put up a good fight.
OP has posts from several months ago about WvW, a couple posts asking about roaming from a year ago, unless he/she is completely clueless they should have known about people dueling in WvW and should’ve been able to recognize it. This post is just OP’s attempt at venting and trying to gain some sympathy because they want to feel like they did nothing wrong.
umm what? OP’s post reads like one of those feel good news stories that make people feel all warm and tingly inside.
You obviously have no idea about the “politics” in T1 that lead to YB becoming a T1 server. I don’t even think you realize why HoD rose up the ranks so fast. You seem to be confusing your own server loyalty with bailing on your current server and banwagoning onto another.
I never got these posts that make WvW out to be this game mode that force people to connect on such an emotional level. I’ve been on AR, DB, SoS, IoJ, FA, and TC and honestly it’s all pretty much the same. Sure you’ve got different people, different guilds and different voices, but it takes less than 2 weeks to get to know the regulars and their guilds. There isn’t a server that has players that are inherently more loyal and dedicated.
So many people seem to think WvW is a game mode with so much depth that it would require a huge amount of teamwork to get anything done. If you want to feel that sense of camaraderie or feel like you went into the trenches with a bunch of strangers and came out with brothers go play EVE or some other MMO focused solely on open world PvP with more risk involved.
I loved WvW, it’s what I played the most after spending the first six months of release doing PvE. WvW made me quit PvE and only play SPvP, and WvW but people need to stop trying to make it seem like they are a small cog in some gigantic machine when infact that machine is not that big.
As for that server loyalty of yours, that you seem to hypocritically value so much, all it would take is for a few guilds to come into a disagreement. Soon enough tensions rise and the ones that feel like outsiders will leave for another server.
Your post is too long, most people don’t care about your life story and what is with you being overly dramatic with so many of your statements.
This post is not indicative of me being in favour of or against megaservers for WvW.
2500 HP isn’t the same on all class. 2500 HP on a thief/guard/mesmer is worth a ton more than on other classes.
This and I honestly wouldn’t give a kitten if they removed any other stat boosting buffs like food and oils. WvW to me is a PvP map with a more long term goal and a bigger map as opposed to SPvP so everyone should be equalized and have access to the same level of gear with no outside buffs.
But I’m pretty sure there are people out there that will complain about more PvE being added to WvW and still want buffs from sources other than the player’s skills.
Strikes me as a bit odd after 3 years of thread upon thread demanding new maps, then to see posters who did not participate in the discussion, giving this feedback. If you do not like larger maps, why didn’t you participate in the discussion?
Larger, more open maps, were asked for regularly, and I do not recall anyone asking not to make larger maps.
Coglin?
Having a similar problem, if I’m lucky I can get up to 50KB/s or else it hovers around 2KB/sec. Speedtest is showing an accurate 15Mb/s so it should be going at ~1.8MB/s

guess who won?
Okay, I’ll bite… looking at that pic you were on the red team, you guys had two Elementalists (you being one of them running pretty much the standard Celestial d/d) and you lost. I’m assuming you’re saying that Elementalist is not OP.
I’ll get this out of the way, Rangers and Thieves are not OP.
Looking at your previous posts you seem to think Elementalist is balanced. You also said that Celestial Elementalists weren’t very good before the patch (that was posted three hours before I started typing this reply) so I’m assuming you’re talking about the patch in late June.
Before the patch that happened in June the three classes that dominated PvP were Elementalists, Warriors and Engineers. Thieves were also part of the meta due to their mobility but I don’t think anyone would say they were OP, yet you still had trouble against Thieves and you almost quit GW2. You realize you were playing one of the top three classes at the time and that still made you want to quit GW2 because you thought Elementalists were bad.
Come late June, the patch drops. Celestial is out of the meta for Engineers and Warriors but Celestial is still viable for Elementalists and also for Necromancers now. Now instead of having three classes dominating the PvP scene you’ve got just one. Now that Elementalist is the only one that didn’t get nerfed in the patch you think they’re balanced. Your class had to transcend to an unkillable god status for you to think that your class is finally balanced.
Another post by you from one month ago said that you didn’t think d/d Elementalists had good damage. Are you expecting Elementalists to hit as hard as Thieves while also keeping their sustain?
A post from four months ago (Elementalists were not terrible four months ago) of you saying that Elementalists can’t win a 1v1 against Warriors, Guardians, Necromancers and Thieves, no matter what build the Elementalist is running. Followed by you saying that the people that upload videos of Elementalists winning 1v1s are doing so because it’s funny and rare for an Elementalist to win a duel.
You’re like those people in Dota who complain about being at 2k MMR and think they should be at 7k but instead of getting better they blame everyone and everything else around them.
TL;DR You’re bad at the game or a really dedicated troll.
Aside: It would be funny if I misinterpreted your pic and this post was for nothing.
I will never understand why people hate conditions so much…
- Conditions ignore toughness
- You don’t need ferocity or precision, so why not go full dire
- At this moment condition burst comes pretty close to power burst
- 40% condition duration foods (increase and decrease)
- The PvE changes that bleed into WvW and SPvP (also vice versa, but I don’t play PvE so not sure how much of an impact it makes)
- Perplexity runes, 5 confusion stacks every 15 seconds
- Passive gameplay of applying conditions then turtling
At the moment the way conditions work is very similar to power builds, you use your big damage skills to burst someone down while only having to worry about how much vitality they have, what conditions should have been was a form of attrition warfare. A condition build should eventually wear down and overpower a power build due to the conditions stacking. Instead we have everyone bursting as if they are running a power build without having to sacrifice vitality or toughness for ferocity or precision. Yes there are some traits that proc on precision but you only need enough precision to make sure they theoretically proc once every CD period. So now you’ve got someone decked out in mostly dire armor with some rabid for that little bit of precision, yet they can still maintain the same DPS output as a power build.
This is only a WvW problem but the 40% condition food is so broken and it feels like I’m the only one that thinks that, FORTY PERCENT. How did anyone think that was a good idea. Another WvW only problem are the perplexity runes, almost every condition build I come across in WvW while roaming is running this. This is a huge damage increase before the recent big patch and even bigger after the patch. Before confusion could have been avoided completely, not the case anymore. There was also a damage bump across conditions in general so they could keep up in PvE. Poison stacks intensity instead of duration, burn turned into a bigger and better version of bleed and confusion does damage without having to attack.
You’ve also got condition builds that will stack conditions on you and go full defensive. The main example being condition mesmers and thieves, mostly due to access to stealth. Although this isn’t a problem in SPvP because constantly stealthing lets the enemy capture the points meanwhile you’re too slow to kill the guy and get +1ed.
My opinions on this is that conditions need a rework, at the moment they are way to similar to power builds without the same risks. I would have no problem with conditions ignoring toughness, that would be a great way to counter bunkers, if they were an attrition build. I’m also not saying that they should revert the changes to conditions back to what they were before. Poison can keep stacking intensity and confusion can do damage without having to attack but at least their coefficients need to be looked at for WvW and SPvP.
I don’t agree with the way how conditions work right now but I also don’t know how I would fix it.
edit: Dire armor is also a WvW only problem.
(edited by CheezeStix.1076)
kitten if you ask me.
Vit/tough with power is fine, but with condi it’s OP?
Soldiers is a pretty tanky amulet at the cost of precision and ferocity; you run with soldiers you won’t be doing any serious damage.
Dire is also a pretty tanky stat combo, but a lot of condi builds don’t even need any precision and don’t need any ferocity to burst someone. If you put in dire in SPvP condi builds will end up as tanky as soldiers while also being able to burst down people, mind you not as fast as zerker or marauder but condi can still burst pretty fast. Plus power focused builds have vitality and toughness to worry about meanwhile condis completely ignore toughness (armor in general).
Idk how much WvW you’ve played but you can go try a dire condi PU mesmer with perplexity runes, you’ll be nigh unkillable when fighting most people.
This is also why a lot of people hate condi builds, you can still be pretty bursty without having to sacrifice vitality and toughness and in SPvP you’re forced to make that sacrifice if you want to play condi for balance’s sake.
I think he is saying that if you decide go for a purely power based spec you need to have Power Precision and Ferocity for the maximum burst, but for a purely condi based spec you don’t need ferocity which ends up freeing up a slot for defensive stats. You might not even need precision on a lot of classes which gives you more leeway to play around with defensive stats without sacrificing too much.
Anet has perma banned people for turning karma into gold because Anet themselves kittened up the pricing but when I sent in a 30min compilation of this guy siege trolling 9 months ago all he got was an account suspension and here he is back again. Apparently multiple people reporting someone for botting doesn’t get a GM’s attention and I don’t mean within a few minutes, this kitten will go on for months without any action being taken by Anet.
Look at my very first post on the forums in my account; exact same person, same server, same problem. The very last reply in that post is also by someone from Anet starting another thread to have a discussion about this but that 404s for me.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/wuv/Anet-s-stance-on-siege-trolls/first#post4412445
For kittens sake Anet atleast pretend to care about WvW, you do nothing about siege trolls, majority of the servers are dead in WvW (merge them since servers only matter for WvW now, there is nothing else to lose), the golem event (no idea who this event is supposed to attract) and the new WvW stress test (PR event) where twitch streamers got multiple invites to give away (those twitch streamers don’t even qualify as long time WvW players).

Oh look what i found
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/legal/guild-wars-2-conduct-breaches-outcomes/
things to note from that thread:
Report hacks and exploits and do not use them yourself.
Those who fail to observe the Rules of Conduct usually will have an administrative “mark” placed on their Guild Wars 2 account that results in a temporary account suspension. However, in the case of an extreme breach-such as using a game exploit, attempting to hack the servers, or acquiring a large number of marks and moving into a “frequent violation” status-the account will be permanently closed.
What does the last sentence of my post where I made it into the citadel say? You keep bringing up the rules as if I’m not aware of them, I can’t keep spelling everything out for you in simpler terms.
edit: you’re just quoting me without even reading my posts at this point -.-
I’m also aware that this is a screenshot of me exploiting and posting it on the official GW2 forums.
Good job admitting that this is an actually exploit. Funny how 5 hours ago you posted a video on how to do this and it took you 1 hour to actually figure it out and get inside. Ban please. Not only ban for admitting to exploiting the game but also sharing how to do it with the 1000+ that read this thread.
ummm I didn’t follow the video at all, the jumping spot is pretty well known if you play WvW, and I’m pretty sure the spots in the video have been fixed so I used the spot shown in OP’s screenshot which everyone already knows about. Anyone who made into high school can figure out how to make the jump just by looking at those pics. And I never said I didn’t know how to get into the citadel, I said I suck at making the jump… seriously reread my comments again.
Also ban for what? a harmless exploit where you will get one shot and where the enemy is invulnerable. Not everything has to be to the extreme right or extreme left, yes I get that this is an exploit and an account suspension is reasonable but a ban would be an extreme measure for something that is pretty useless. You can’t just go down a slippery slope and assume everyone will start goat jumping into towers and keeps and start frantically banning people. Might as well start giving jaywalkers a life sentence if we go with your logic because they broke the law and the law is the law or start arresting people with rifles because they might go shoot up a school.
Well I got lucky, anyways this is the furthest I could make it, 1 hit took me to downed state and another double downed me. I’m not saying this shouldn’t be fixed but asking for a ban and acting like the people in OP’s screenshots are scumbags is overeacting.
Everyone with a kneejerk reaction comes to the forums, when HoM bugged out and creating a new character gave you free AP the people who played GW1 started demanding for a rollback over a bunch of AP in the bugs subforum. The same is happening here, people blow things way out of proportion.
I’m also aware that this is a screenshot of me exploiting and posting it on the official GW2 forums.
Over a year ago we had a lot of golems destroyed sitting near the asura gates in the citadel. And the way it was done, those legendary defenders didn’t matter. So…
Are you going to elaborate on how it was done or you just going to keep it a mystery because it’s easier that way for you?
Here are two vids that I could find, the first is a guild running to the citadel and getting wiped by the defenders, and the other is an asura making it in and avoiding the defenders by going to crafting area, my map shows there aren’t any defenders in that area so the worst they can do is kill the merchants located there. Since you’re giving anecdotal evidence from a year ago without any proof I’m going to use a vid from the BWE. Prove me wrong if you can but so far I haven’t seen anyone run into the center of an enemy citadel and survive. I would check this myself but I’m terrible at making the jump to get into the citadel.
BAN THE FILTHY HERETICS, WON’T SOMEONE PLEASE THINK OF THE GOLEMS!
I swear most of the people posting on forums don’t even play the game enough to know what’s going on. But but but my 8 legendaries, the gold star beside my name and my dungeon master title therefore whatever I say must be fact.
Come back when you can make it to the WP of another server’s citadel and staying alive long enough to do any damage to a golem, and don’t give me some bullkitten excuse about golems being in the deadzone with no defenders between the western defenders and the northern defenders, and the eastern defenders and the northern defenders. 90% of the times the golems are in the center of all the gates.
Honestly, how the kitten do you miss the legendary defenders, how do you have enough confidence in yourself to even make a forum post about it.
Yup same, did a pingtest and my ping stayed around 92-94, check my ping in game and it’s ~110 but I still get anywhere from 1-3 second skill delay.
The biggest hole in your idea is having to do PvE or pay 100g to be able to play another game mode. What’s wrong with WvW being a separate game mode? A lot of WvWers only play WvW, look at some of the players in GvG guilds. They will only play WvW and do PvE occasionally for some event. You’ve also got roamers who only play WvW and forcing them to PvE or get 100g just from roaming is a huge turn-off.
You could argue that those players are in the minority but if the core group of a game mode stops playing it starts to become less competitive because then all you’re left with is “casuals” and not a consistent group of players (however small that group might be).
Edit: Why would mixing PvE with WvW be fun? All you’ve said is let’s do “X” and it will be FUN. Plus you’re not changing a whole lot, you’ve still got 3 groups that are fighting each other. It doesn’t matter whether it’s JQvsBGvsTC or Priory vs Vigil vs Whispers; it’s still XvsYvsZ (most people don’t care about RP or lore because the game mode itself is fun for them to play). Then you’ve got the problem of people stacking on one team since it will be a lot easier to create a new character, grind the story or pay 100g which is a lot cheaper than switching servers. So you’ve got people with multiple characters on multiple teams, what’s stopping me from just joining the team that’s steamrolling everyone? Sure you can say some people like to be the underdog but look at EOTM where green is dominating everyone, red is trying to not run into green and blue is non-existent a lot of the times. There are also bandwagon servers that a huge number of guilds transfer to when a tournament starts to make sure they get gold, last year that was HoD in the silver league.
Looking at your previous post you seem to be okay with logging into another toon just to be on the winning side, which I completely disagree with and results in people dog-piling on one team.

Lich #1 not requiring to face the enemy has been a thing for quite a while or maybe even launch. You can try it for youself if you want, make a necro, pop lich and spam #1 as you run away. No idea if this is intended or not, but it isn’t some bug that happens every now and then, lich will always shoot #1 regardless if you’re facing your target or not.
Is this hotjoin/practice or in unranked and ranked? I know people are doing this in hotjoin but personally it’s a non-issue to me. If Anet wants to ban them then go for it, don’t care either way. But if you’re serious about PvP you’re better off doing unranked or ranked where as far as I’m aware this is not an issue.
Just fought a ranger who was invisible the whole match. I decided to push far and thought it was empty but nope, arrows out of nowhere and I’m dead. Same thing kept happening through out the rest of the match.
yes. the mentality of zerging is fine and I am bad. good reasoning, spam 1111 and keep it up.
Alright then, I’m curious to know why you refuse to play in unranked or ranked?
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Structured_PvP#Rewards
Check out that link, hotjoin is restricted to a maximum of 10000 track points/day, 10s for a loss and 15s for a win. You also only get 200 track points from a loss and 500 track points from a win.
Unranked and ranked give you 15s for a loss and 30s for a win along with 500 track points for a loss and 1500 track points for a win.
I don’t think you’re going to find much sympathy because I don’t think most people care how others play in hotjoin. If you hate the zerging mentality then go to unranked or ranked, this is already a solution to your frustration. Why blame Anet for how people play in hotjoin when other options are already present where these problems are not an issue?
I love this disablers <3 Finnaly defenders got advantage, no more golem/blob rushes, no more ninja caps. Its gonna help break karma cap train meta. Now you have to actually think and work harder to cap something.
Think and work harder? Have you tried ninjaing a keep only to be stopped by a siege disabler and seeing outnumbered pop up as you see the Big red “X” on the rams. Honestly most of the people in favor of siege disabler sound like all they do is zerg with the occasional defending. When they are attacking an enemy keep they can stay in the safety of their zerg with excess supply to blow through and when they are defending they will do a call out and wait for their zerg to come save the day for them.
Have you tried playing in a small group/havok? It doesn’t sound like you have and having siege disabled for 45 seconds just as you get to the inner gate as you try to ninja pretty much means ggwp. This promotes nothing other than having to run in zergs and discourages small groups from capping anything other than camps.
No idea what Anet’s mentality behind this was, were they hoping that it would help small groups defend against a zerg? It barely slows down zergs and completely hinders a small group’s chances of taking anything significant. Anet should just get a public test server but apparently they’re worried about living world spoilers (sounds like a bullkitten excuse much like their other excuses).
(edited by CheezeStix.1076)
Siege trolls are just excuses TC and JQ comes up with for losing season 3. They know the tourney is already decided with this much lead against them in the deciding week of the tourney, and already coming up with a way out. Besides, how many hardcore wvw guilds are left on JQ and TC? ones that can field 20+ and actually fight for ppt and sever pride? just pure pubs most of the time. And the quality of TC and JQ pubs are getting lower too, probably because of them appearing not full during various part of day and received a lot of lower tier transfers.
Seriously, stop complaining and go play Archeage or something, its not like TC and JQ can win this tourney even if they try try 2v1 again…..lol. Its not like season 2, its already too late.
This is the only post you’ve made on the forums and it’s completely irrelevant to the topic. gr8 b8 m8
I started another thread here titled “Wouldn’t pay another 5 cents for this game” due to experiencing this problem.
Please tell me how anet is going to tell the difference between:
-a person building useless siege with malicious intent
-a person building useless siege because they don’t know better
I’m going to assume you have no idea what we’re talking about or you’re trolling.
I feel like the only red post we’re going to see is going to say that the two posts have been merged :P and Anet is just going to sweep this under the rug.
Just wondering if Anet has ever responded to any of the previous siege troll threads. Now that seasons have started some of the servers have probably started seeing siege trolls. I’m on TC and most people on TC probably know who the siege troll is. I’ve started recording him and I’m wondering if that can help in any way for Anet to do something or is this not a priority at the moment (which pretty much means we don’t care to me). Honestly I would like a response from Anet because it seems like they don’t really care about WvW. Seasons and WvW changes in the feature pack just seem like a half-baked(gotta get past the carebear filter) way to maintain the WvW population and somewhat stop them from going to AA. They made such a big deal out of this feature pack for WvWers as if it was going to revolutionize it. At this point it seems like I’m just waiting for that final nail in the coffin for me to completely bail on GW2. inb4 gib gold plis
