condi thief crying about other classes, it’s like the universe is standing on its head.
Dota2 will penalize you for consistently playing terribly.
How? The only penalty is to be degraded in rank, which is useless in a game with so low population that oftenly pairs silvers and plats in the same match.
Low priority matchmaking pool
The game doesn’t put you in low priority because of bad gameplay, it puts you in lp because of excessive reports. You can intentionally feed every game and not end up in low prio.

Sind also isn’t a creator or innovator of thief specs. Kinda like Helseth on Mesmer y’know?
My personal opinion on fighting DE’s over that weekend was they have stupid ranged damage. Legit broken with the numbers they put out. Is that viable in highly organized PvP tournaments? I’m not the one to say, but I can say it’s viable in ranked queue.
One of the things we don’t know is how the entire meta will pan out b/c it’s too early to tell. We have to wait for the player base to fully get their hands on the xpac and develop new builds. Once this happens the Meta will pan out and you can subjectively judge where DE stands.
Also I’m purely talking about the 5v5 tourney aspect about DE being viable, I couldn’t care any less about ranked, hell you can play S/D power and reach top10 in EU then you can literally play anything.
You mean those matches where you team up with the only competitive players in the game and stomp everyone? Noone gives a kitten about those.
I think you should stop calling criticism “crying”. If you want to start a discussion, saying anyone who disagrees with you is crying or whining is not gonna help strenghten your point. Also everyone is trying out the new specs, specs they don’t know yet, and a lot of players in the demo weeknd never play pvp and that affects your winrate. I mean, you’re plat 3 and manage to win against pve players? Congrats. Doesn’t say anything about the class.

if u mean blackpowder > hs > steal > backstab its just bit of timing u press backstab a bit before steal if the skill is going off it will land if u press to late it will just be a regular hit.

So their commander is dead, and then it’s 30 thieves vs a well rounded zerg. What do you think happens then? Also you can’t exactly tell the enemy zerg “please wait 10 seconds, malice needs to charge”.
Its 50/50 for me. The heartseeker and steal will usually land of course, but for some reason I don’t get stealthed for the backstab every time. What am I doing wrong on this? Probably timing. I try to steal at the end of the heartseeker animation.
It doesn’t really matter, but I’m running the regular d/p build. Black powder > heartseeker > steal > backstab.

If you’re looking to solo queue ranked with a thief you’re in for a world of pain buddy.
Every time I see people with maxed out everything, aura’s, legendaries en legendary armor I get jealous of their ability grind for thousands and thousands of hours. Do you just shut your brain off or something?

Maybe I can offer a different view point. In thai boxing there is a move where one repeatedly kicks the opponents thigh. At some point, if you take too many hits, you just can’t stand up straight anymore. It’s allowed, but it’s cheap and generally frowned upon. That’s what condi is in this game. It’s the easy short cut.

Because you’re so nice, I will indulge you. Condi doesn’t kill me because whenever I encounter a condi build, I disengage. Is it so hard to understand something can be OP even when the person complaining about it is not dying to it? Whenever a legitimate complaint on this forum is done, all you can come up with is the usual git gud response. Not dying to it? Can’t possibly be op, because avoiding it like the plague doesn’t exist.
It’s cheese, it’s cheap, it’s abusing a broken system and it sucks the fun out of pvp. But I guess when something is easy and cheese a lot of people will be attracted to it, and whenever they are called out for it, the qq starts.

Anyone playing condi should hop on a power thief and try to fight their own condi class (watch someone reply “but thief isnt supposed to 1v1 uehueheuh reeeee”). Before the game is over they will have had a mental breakdown, before deleting their cheese class out of shame. They will go to their local church and confess to their sins, promising to never do it again.
like. you two seem like two sides of a coin. so cute. one can’t kill with condi, & the other can’t help but be killed by condi. it seems like, you could bisect & stitch yourselves into something rather impressive/

on a serious note, my darling dear. you have both brawlers recovery & zerker stance in your build. you also have the option of mending (15sec cd is love), Cleansing Ire, & condi clear sigils.
you should be embarrassed. complaining about burn guards. for shame. you are playing a winning matchup vs condi builds, burn guards even more so.
burn guard is a joke with the amount of cleanses warrior has. the matchup is so heavily in your favour you should actually not be able to lose it on equal skill. ergo: you are being outplayed. everytime you lose to the burn guard 1v1 it’s a fight you should have won. you have every single tool you can ever need to beat him. practice.

But starting off with the “I took 120k damage” isn’t helpful because it includes a lot of damage that actually didn’t kill you.
Leave it to online forum users to ignore the whole post, take half a sentence out of context and make a whole post explaining why that half sentence is wrong.
People who play condi builds, why do you insist on making this game not fun for the rest of us? Why is every build I play against condi?
Could we just have seperate game modes, where one is the normal default one, and the other is called “cheese condi” and those condi thiefs and burn guards can go have their fun in that mode. I literally took 120k condi damage on my warrior one time. This is 6x my hp bar. All in condi damage.
I tried out a few condi classes, and it is just so lame and cheesy. Condi thief is just perma evading and kittenting out condis. Can’t even get hit. How is this a thing? Tried condi warrior and won 1v3’s in my first few games.
I’ve played dota for 5 years and in tons of different patches, with 110+ heroes, things have been overpowered, but nothing even comes close to the kitten that is condi in gw2. I bet I could make it to legendary playing stupid condi kitten, but hey, it makes me feel like a s/cumbag.

Git gud bro, I stomped while playing Spellbreaker and I’m not even good. Although the cast time for f2 is really long.
So I’m interested in doing WvW, coming from mainly pvp and pve. My main (a thief) is geared with ascended gear but my toons mostly have exo zerker gear. I looked up some meta builds and they all seem to need specific HoT stats. I just finished my first legendary and I really don’t want to grind again for those. Also I want to experiment with different classes, zerging, roaming, whatever is the most fun, and I obviously can’t gear all classes exactly according to metabattle builds. Any alternatives for the time being?
Anyone have any numbers for mmr distribution? I finally got to platinum from bronze last season but it doesn’t feel that much better.

I’m currently in gold and while I have my rotations down pretty well, other thieves always burst me down really quick. I can only disengage so many times, at some point they will (almost) kill me anyway. Anytime a thief jumps on me he takes half my health in a second it seems, while my own burst is lacking. What can I do against this?
Also how can I improve spike damage against other classes?
What I mean is people don’t use shield so it doesn’t matter how you change shield 4 so long as shield 5 is bad.
uhh shield is meta in pvp.
This might sound a bit off putting, but the quickest way to earn gold is tp flipping. It’s pretty boring, but you can do it during down times and make easy gold. I went from 100 to 900 gold when I did it a lot for a week.
So 1 in every 5 matches or so I get stuck in the loading screen, and task manager doesn´t even work when that happens, so I have to restart. Happened 3 times today and I´m stuck in dishonored for 1 hour and 10 minutes again.
So the game gets stuck in the loading screen in pvp, so I automatically lose that game, and on top of that, the game punishes me for a bug in the game by shutting me out.
So now I´m banned from pvp again because the game is buggy. Why do players get punished for a stuck loading screen?? Why am I not allowed to play a game I paid for because the game itself freezes? I’m usually not the one to get salty at bugs, seeing that red text again when I can’t restart on time kittenes me off to no end.
I like to abide by what is meta and be as efficient as possible, which is staff right now for fractals and raids. Is there a chance dagger will surpass staff in the future?
I just want incinerator but there’s no point if I only use it in PvP.

I chuckled when I read this. As a thief, whenever I encounter newer players playing necro it takes me ages to kill him because they’re such damage sponses. When I see a Necro I sigh a little because I know whatever their skill, it’s probably not even worth killing them, cause it even with insane thief dps it takes so frigging long, whereas I make one mistake and I’m dead. How this is considered high skill floor is beyond me. Dying on a necro the hardest part of playing it.
What’s up with this? Classes have so many blocks, invulnerabilities, and reflects it’s ridiculous. I mainly play ranger and thief, and so much time is spent stripping off these blocks and stuff first. Whenever I see a guardian, I just start autoattacking for a bit first because of the PASSIVE blocks (aegis I think, I don’t know guard that well), than the active ones too. Than I use my burst and they heal up and by this time their blocks will have come off cooldown again. Same with warrior. 4 sec invuln, shield block and mace block. Scrapper with ALL the reflects. Even thief has a block. Signet of stone for ranger coupled with a block on GS too.
This is especially annoying with thief, as the only chance in a 1v1 (yes, shouldn’t 1v1 but I like to anyway) is to quickly burst down the enemy but everything is getting blocked. I never use heartseeker because the animation is too long for something that will be blocked anyway. Backstab? Huehue, blocked.

My build is your standard metabattle d/p setup with some changes for WvW and PvP.
So basicly I started playing again and have been trying different game modes and classes to see what I like best. I always come back to thief though, because it’s the most fun and rewarding. In PvP and WvW it’s always a struggle against even 1 player, some classes like warrior I don’t even try. But than when I roll ranger or warrior myself it’s a breeze, I tried a warrior build for the first time with weapons I never even used and I was able to win 1v2’s and kill both of them multiple times, even 1v3’s, and I never died in PvP matches. Same for Ranger, top stats for pretty much everything in a lot of games for some reason. We would never lose a skirmish when I was there, and I’m not even very good. Than I go back to my thief and it’s extremely hard to even win a 1v1. Sure the mobility is insane, it’s hard to die with all the evasion and disengage, but I’m not accomplishing a whole lot except for decapping etc. Especially in WvW, where mostly experience players roam, I don’t even have to try. Sure, this is a skill thing for the most part but it’s just insane that whenever I try something else it’s a walk in the park while on my daredevil (d/p power metabattle build) accomplishing anything against enemy players is just extremely hard. I’m contemplating switching mains but thief is just the most fun for me.. Would greatly appreciate some advice on this.

prefix names all berzerker except the helm.
My gear is mostly rare and a bit of masterwork and 1 exotic. No whites whatsoever.
I change gear every 10 levels, of course it doesn’t look great. Unless you’re talking about the dyes.
Using signet because they give nice passives, it’s my first character so I don’t know what works best. As for healing, this one seems to heal the most and gets rid of 3 conditions so I have been going with that one.
It started at around level 55, mobs would take significantly longer to kill than before that but I assumed it was just the game getting harder. However, now, at level 75 in Frostgorge Sound, my warrior does disproportionately little damage. My gear is all level 74 and with offensive stats, green/yellow and 1 exotic. Not the best gear, but I feel extremely underleveled and undergeared when fighting mobs of my own level or lower. Surviving isn’t a problem, it’s mainly the damage my character lacks for some reason. Before level 50 HB and a couple autoattacks would finish any mob, now it takes 3 times that… I don’t even try to solo vets anymore (which would take 20 secs before) What am I doing wrong?
