Id like to see 20 guards vs 20 scourge or 20 druids vs 20 scourge or etc… you get the idea. Until then lets wait to see what happens on live. Once you know how to fight a scourge they are super squishy, very easy to kill, people will figure it out within a couple of months and then all the scourge will be crying for buffs.
Punishment skills with the 3/4 cast time are to long for such little reward. Sand Well for example, 3/4 sec cast time with only 900 range. The range is to close if you get up that close then you are subject to heavy damage, the barrier mechanic is just plane garbage in its current state. It needs some stab w/ it or at least an increase to its base health increase, in an ever creeping damage increase that this game has a 1-4k barrier nothing really. Its a horrible trade off for shroud. Needs a lot of work or just scrap it. It might have some situational uses and could be good for spvp but with the limited mobility and broken/weak barrier mechanic its still gonna be a quick kill on scourge. 1.5 Thumbs down.
I suggest reducing punishment cast times, increasing the range on them and shades and buffing or rethinking the barrier mechanic.
So does barrier work against CC? If not, I dont see whats to be to hyped about. The moment you get CCd its gg. This is just speculation of course, I’m just not to sure about this trade off, at least with rs3 you got stab stacks… guess we will see soon Speaking purely from wvw/pvp perpective.

I can’t see anywhere in the video where the necro has that many bleed stacks on the op, doesn’t seem like this is a DC issue, seems more like a glass rev that got outplayed and not even by very good necro. He went down about as easily as the op did. I’m not sure if this is just another I lost to a necro omg pls nerf DC or not but if you look at the video and the amount of condi that was actually applied it really wasnt that much, NOT A DC issue.
You can’t nerf dc without gutting the class for a large population of players. The game cant be balanced around the top 5% nor the bottom 50%. The problem imo is the fact that this trait ( along with others for other professions ) combines CC with damage, in the case of DC you get chill which has the -66% movement speed + – 66% skill recharge combined with the bleed stacks. What should be done is that you either get the CC or the damage, not both, again just my opinion. However, if you want to go the way of just toning down the damage then you shouldn’t be looking at just DC because so many of the necros abilities are wrapped in to it. The whole class would need to be reworked in order to properly balance out going on a case by case or ability by ability basis to determine which abilities are able to apply the chill, then consider which need to be adjusted.
Twice tonight I waited in queue, when it popped I accepted only to be sent right to the end to start over. Just fix it pls. Who wants to wait in these horrid queues 3 times in a night. 2 hrs total time wasted.
I don’t know if having 50 man blob on outnumbered maps with worlds that have very little coverage at this time is actually dominating. There might be another word or words that would fit better….
Legendary armor and weopons for that matter don’t offer any stats advantage therefore do not enhance my characters capability in wvw, so I don’t care if they give them away to the people that play pve. What do they offer other than a chance for people to play digital barbie, nothing that couldn’t be fixed with adding some wvw exclusive skins through wvw vendor. I would like a path to gain ascended armor strictly by playing wvw, so I don’t have to pve or blow gold at all. I guess if anet did that then Id want a build saver that could save multiple builds so I could more easily swap my builds around based on what role I’m playing.
For some reason WvW doesnt promote competition outside of the enjoyment of playing your profession and killing other players just for the sake of doing it. There isn’t any real player stats ranking for wvw or guild ranking system based on stats either. There isn’t any real unique rewards for being #1 each week. You can’t brag on the forums or it quickly becomes match up thread and then it is closed. There isn’t even a real dueling option , not that I am in to dueling really but, the op does seem to be on to something here. I’d like to see a player ranking system and guild ranking system at least. Maybe some rewards for the winners after each week. I also think that closing off any thread where you see 2 or more servers names are mentioned is a bit to oppressive. Cmon, its a wargame Having said that though I still enjoy playing wvw, but it doesn’t feel like there is any real goal that id be interested in trying for. when I go in for a while I generally tell myself ok, get 15-20 stomps, and wipe a zerg a couple of times or if i’m roaming I say get some stomps , make some other roamers not want to come back to where i’m at, then move on to another spot, rinse and repeat. After that I’m ready to log. Just seems that there should be a bit more carrot on the stick for veteran players, might as well since there doesn’t seem to be a steady flow of new players coming in to play wvw.

One thing I notice here with people saying to “counter and play better”, the counters to necro stacking work for small groups and roaming, but starts to get real shaky when you’re up against 30+ condi necros, theres only so much cleanse you can possibly have, and the moment you have no resistance is the moment you explode ( also resistance means you can stack condis extraordinarily well till it runs out.)
I have yet to see 30 necs in any zerg. I do hear what your saying but I still see more guards and heralds stacked than necs. I guess what people could do, is post what profession they are running with there build and I and others I’m sure would be happy to help with some counters, but It might be too early for players to have tried out some other ways to play the new meta. Purely from a zerg perspective, i would need to know what zerg comp you are running. Give it some time players will figure it out.
Deathly Chill was fixed, this patch. 3 bleeds isn’t that much of a buff considering how many counters there are to condis these days. DC was overnerfed at the begining of HoT. The problem back then was this, it basically applied 2 conditions in 1 application. Instead of balancing it by making DC a choice between damage or CC they just threw in a crappy 1 bleed stack that wasn’t a threat to anyone. The primary issue isnt DC. Its the abilites that apply it. Shouts for example they have low CDs if traited and spread AoE, which make it far to easy to spread and stack bleeds. If DC gets nerfed then Necros are back to crappy damage and nothing more really then a support dps ( which isnt fun). Which I know would make the former meta very happy but really its nothing when you compare how much burns can be stack by guards or torment/confusion by mesmers, or any other heavy condi spec/profession. However for the sake of argument they are still back to the core issue in the beginning of the expansion ( not nearly as bad though) which is they need to make it choice of either damage or CC if DC is traited, that way players can run away and heal when they condi clear the bleeds and not have to deal with the CC of chill or vice versa. That should clear up most of the qq. The rest is just people need to get builds and more experience countering them before making knee jerking decisions.
What a lot of players and probably Anet doesn’t realize is the number of people zoning in just to farm the nodes in towers and keeps and camps. I see this all the time. Players zone in head to keep, then start making there way around the map purely for the material nodes. Then they just bounce maps and rinse and repeat. I’ve noticed it for a while now, but since there has been some strange openings and closings of servers it all makes sense.
I see it when I’m roaming and refreshing siege or building siege. They are players I don’t recognize and don’t have known guild tags they don’t fight they just go straight for nodes. I do believe JQ and TC have large Pve populations so,…it makes sense.
So by that logic no matter how stacked a server is, if it loses 2 guilds and doesn’t have sea coverage it should open. It shouldn’t matter how it is in comparison to other servers. Ok, thank you for your input.
The fact that Mag was opened again, is a statement itself and pretty much says everything about the state of WvW NA. GG Anet.
The resistance would be a stat on gear much like Toughness, they would have to make new gear sets that would have it on it. So, for example Soldiers gear has Power , Toughness and Vit. Resistance gear( call it what you want) Would have Power , Resistance and Vit. There could be many combinations. It would work just like toughness, if you stack toughness you decrease direct damage, so, in this case if you equip lots of gear with resistance on it then you would reduce its damage as well. These are just ideas, but this one could work if done right.

Just some ideas I think would help WvsW, some have already been mentioned , but in case you guys need some go ahead and pull from this thread and pass it on as your own.
1. Remove Boon/Condition meta by removing resistance as a boon and put it on gear. Make it work like toughness works with direct damage, the more you have less damage you take. Resistance on Gear. Then buff base direct damage for all profession abilities. I think this would provide some balance and give the players some choice if they dont wanna melt by conditions them let them gear the damage down.
2. Profession balance for WvsW only. Then after you do that, go ahead and make it to where all professions weapons are balanced for it, that way we have more choice. I mean in order for wvw to be fun and competitive you would want to have that. Characters and professions are the first thing you pick and start doing when you start this game so focus on that.
3. Make rewards that are specific to wvw. Some ideas off the top of my head would be a commander track. Commanders need to be rewarded specially because they are an integral part of WvsW. Figure out some way where if they tag up they can get a reward track that drops superior siege , guild upgrades , gold and special commanders Skins…etc.. things like that would be really great.
Next make reward tracks for players where they can get ascended gear, maybe one track would give viper gear another track would reward carrion..etc.. you get the idea, make a track for each gear type, then make a track for special WvsW specific skins for armor and weopons.
Make a reward track that opens up when you paint the map 1 color, you could have it open up when that happens and stays open for 24 hrs and then we could get something like , gold, special weapon skins…etc…This would encourage team work between guilds. WvsW Specific Reward Tracks
4. We need a guild ranking system, for those that want to fight for pride or bragging rights, not just for large guilds only but let the ranking system show exactly how many kills they get and how many towers, camps ,…etc… Time to find out who is best and let us compete for that, also it would be helpful for PPT players, and also roamers, they can brag how many keeps the flip…etc. Guild Ranking System.
Anyway, just some ideas off the top of my head that I think would be cool.

A seperate balance for wvw would have been nice. Many times balance for other aspects of the game have taken the fun out of playing professions. After 4 yrs it would be nice to pick and choose your profession upon entering and have full confidence that it competes at equal level and is fun. I’m sure by now most of us can play most if not all professions with competence, yet when we go in we have limited weopons we can use simply because it isn’t optimal or doesn’t feel synergetic with particular traits. You can see proof in every profession forum, many are asking to make this weopon better or that weopon better or fix this trait or that trait. Not enough choice imo. If playing your profession is fun then the game is more fun. The rewards for wvw past and present aren’t really suited to the game mode and the players that focus on wvw. All this and pretty much what everyone said above is what happened to wvw.

Toughness will negate direct damage/ power builds, but yeah, if your running without any then yes, running in to a power build will feel like your getting hit by a truck. Conditions will burst or chew your health away if you don’t have cleanses up or stacked up resistance. Stronger of the two depends on the situation and the build you are running vs builds others are running.
Also, this system promotes competition. There would be a lot of instances in which people would be tied for second and in those situations kills would matter so, GVGs, Roamers everyone gets some credit for doing their thing and it would actually matter. Yes, KILLS would matter.
T1 and T4 would still see more activity then its current state. You would still see at least 1 new server every 3 weeks, also you have to keep in mind that from the start it would all be a random selection for the 4 tiers and all that would have to happen to go up a tier is just 3 wins or the best out of 3. Server stacking/ locked worlds will always be a problem simply because that is what a lot of people want for whatever reason, but at least this way you get more variety and it would be consistent.
Basically it would work like this. Everyone is wiped clean and Randomly matched up in to the 4 current tiers. We would still have 3 servers (with names) but for this purpose lets just say A,B,C. Every three weeks there would be change whoever wins the best of three matches is server A, and moves up. Whoever gets second place is server B, stays the same tier. Whoever loses best of three moves down. If there is a tie between server B and C or A, B, C then it would be based off kills. I think it would promote serious competition every single week. New servers every 3 weeks. No massive gaps in glicko with stale match ups.

If they don’t fix this problem in the next balance patch then I’d say Anet is pretty out of touch with there own game. If they want people running around with the kinds of boon duration that are out now, then they might as well just change the health circle to an IWIN button that way anybody can just push it and not even bother with skill.
Ya, its not a bug with the condition immobilize itself, its with hard cc and yes you just get stuck. I hope they understand that when we say immobilized we mean we actually cant move and we don’t mean the condition itself. Happens quite a bit lately, Were you standing on uneven terrain or did you jump down terrrain or up it?
Im just gonna bump this cause its still happening and as someone already posted it seems to happen when standing on uneven ground. Please fix this. Btw its not just druids.

No , not using the action camera. It seems after further testing that it happens with volley, I was able to reproduce it but it was random, might be just random latency issues. Although the times it did happen was when the buff pops at the same time the skill goes on CD.
I was messing around with a gimmicky build for rifle and I noticed that sigil of rage wasn’t applying quickness. I have no problem getting the sigil to proc but it doesn’t actually apply the quickness effect to the skills. Does anyone know if it’s the sigil or is it just not working for rifle?
Locking all transfers will be a problem. For example: A variable amount of players from server A doesn’t like playing with server B (insert reason). Players from server A is stuck for 3 months. Server A players become very unhappy, or vice versa with server B. You would be better off keeping transfers open and let whichever players want to stack go ahead and stack and deal with the queue or if players want less queue or population they can go where they want as well. Best case scenario players balance the servers themselves, worst case players go play where they want. Drop the gem costs for a while, make it reasonable to transfer and eventually people will settle in the type of server they want. You can still make money off transfers , it’ll just be the fast nickel versus the slow dime theory, plus more of a choice/happy players.
It is interesting how the options were presented.
I don’t like the idea. I’m pleased with the way things are now. This seems like an idea that will cost a lot of time and resources and will likely not produce any results for quite some time and in the end will probably upset a lot of the player base. Meanwhile, we could be moving on to other issues that could improve QoL in WvW that could show more immediate results/ happy players.
It’s not a question of how many conditions that can be applied it’s simply that they do little damage until a certain amount of stacks is reached. Now you are stating that only 1 will be removed and the other will go on, …? So in any given situation whenever you facing a battle only 1 condition can be removed ? Is that it? My points are simple A) It doesn’t matter how many conditions are on if they do crap damage until they reach certain stack amount. There are situations / professions that will cleanse more then 1 condition, then its back to point A. But hey, have a ball watching your conditions stack up in theory. DC shouldn’t be overpowered again but a buff is needed to increase burst, sustain is worthless in a lot of pvp situations (cleanses, regens- heals, blocks, etc..). I would even be open to a change to where you get more stacks/ damage but sacrifice the movement debuff.
Oh yeah, it’s really not that bad in a theoretical situation where everything is close to perfect. However DC in a practical situation is weak and needs a buff. Don’t say" let’s be real", and then throw out a bunch of numbers in a theoretical situation.
Fix this ANET, its irritating.
Megaservers have full AND empty maps. It would be disaster for those that didn’t end up on the full map. Sorry, bad idea.
How are they supposed to balance the populations when people are free to move afterward? Sounds like a waste of time and resources. People will always server stack cause like to be able to jump in and play with people from there home world at anytime.
Just transfer to the low pop servers that got merged, still only 500 gems. You can play all day with your pals.
There is also plenty of roaming aka small scale battles going on as long as you are aware of enemy movements which are easy to track if you are in TS or even watch the chat/map. That’s just a L2p issue.
It is kind of interesting that it seems most of these posts are about the linking of BG and ET the WINNING servers in T1. The queue times aren’t bad. If you are unwilling to go fight in the borderlands for 15-20 mins while you wait for EB then really it’s your choice to wait. Borderlands are almost always open and queues only during prime time are around 15-20 mins for EB. You cant just look at the number and see 35 in queue and start complaining, people are always shuffling out or map jumping. This sounds like a disguised but well written " Boo Hoo “, I WANT MY TOY NOW”, thread. This is how it was before wvw started dying off people. Remember yr 1 anyone? Also, unless Anet just removes the linking all together then you are going to face similar situations no matter what. There is also the option to transfer to one of the low ranked realms for only 500 gems, but like I said it’ll be pretty much the same.
