Holy cow! I need to make a necro now. That looked tight.
I have a question regarding world completion after the announcement of WvW no longer being a part of the world completion. If this has been addressed before I apologize in advance.
Since they’re clearly working on improving (or at least changing world completion), will there be any way we can have current maps that are not part of world completion integrated into the world completion list? I’m referring to maps like Silverwastes, Dry Top, and Southsun Cove. In my opinion these are all important maps of the game and with all of them containing skill points, vistas, and POI’s they should be listed as part of the completion. I’m assuming this issue has been presented before, just curious if there was any new information the devs could give us. Thanks!
If you’re on or can guest on the Blackgate server, there is TTS that runs the wurm every single morning and they usually always have enough people to do the triple decap. They ask that everyone is on team speak since it’s very organized and everyone has to listen to the team leaders. It’s always the run that’s at 11:00 am central time. Just get there early because the map fills up; around 10:20 am central time. I’m sure there are more guilds that do it, that’s just the only one I know of.
Ohhh. I see. Ha, how is it that I’m still in my late twenties and I’m behind on acronyms lol. Sorry about that.
Im impressed that you are about my age and dont know that means xD i thought every 20ish year old new what that was! Then again, i make them so i kinda have to know what it is, if youve never used them totally understandable!
I feel like I’m way older than my age, which is ironic because I still get asked if I’m in high school and it’ll be my 10 year reunion this year ha. I think it’s because I don’t get into social media and not familiar with acronyms. However I should have known this one I feel like just since it’s game related.
As a GW2 player since beta, this video was increadibly interesting. I remember back on beta event number one when that full screen login interface was first released I would sit there just listening to the music over and over again.
“Mod” means to add modifications to a game. And his phrasing is sort of correct on that one. “i dont want to mod” or rather “Modify” etc
To the op, i agree i want my ui to be able to be chaned, skill bar on the side, map able to dragged anywhere on screen not just stuck to the corners, same with the party ui
Ohhh. I see. Ha, how is it that I’m still in my late twenties and I’m behind on acronyms lol. Sorry about that.
Potions? and what does ‘mod’ mean? Grammatical funnies aside, I have to agree. I’d love the ability to move the different UI positions around as I see fit, as well as the majority of all GW2 players I would assume. This is a topic that has been brought up many times before. Here’s hoping that perhaps HoT will have an update for this.
I just wanted to stop by and say that I am a color blind gamer; I have known it every since the 4th grade and I’m currently 28. As far as gaming it affects me in a very insignificant way. Honestly, the only issue I have is dying armor. I cannot tell the difference in colors, even when they’re separated by hue. I usually use a limited amount of color on my armor, or have my roommate set it for me since he has good taste ha.
For those that do not know, color blindness is genetic and is brought about by not having one or more of the three color cone cells (red, green, blue) inside the eye, or one or more not working properly. It is an unfortunate issue, but I’m sure like everyone else who is color blind, they has learned to live with it.
As far as having a color blind setting in the game, I can’t see how this would even be possible. I actually, for the most part, see the same colors as anyone else. My eyes just cannot tell my brain what color I’m seeing since I’m missing a color cone cell. I know, for example, the game Peggle has a color blind setting, however they just place symbols inside the different colors for association. I can’t imagine how you’d be able to set particle effects, AOE rings, item rarity, or what have you to a color blind mode and it be beneficial to anyone, while not taking away any beauty or aesthetics of the game. However, I am open to any suggestions. (Edit: I decided to read some of the posts and there are some decent suggestions out there. But since this affects such a low population of games, I wouldn’t assume that there will ever be any additions to help color blind gamers.) At any rate, there’s my two cents, for what it’s worth. :P

Holy cheese balls! I just saw the article on IGN and ran here to see if it was on their website and it isn’t yet. Glad to see there’s a topic about it. Those maps looks sick. The detail is staggering. I need this all now.
Christopher Walken. I would channel Christopher Walken.
Ha, Yes.
This may or may not mean anything but I’ve managed to collect all eyes and kidneys except one kidney relatively easy by having some sort of magic find booster on. Could just be the luck of the draw however and an increase in magic find does not actually have anything to do with being rewarded parts that you do not currently have. Worth a try though.

To be honest, this is a topic that has been beat to death by the forums for many a months now, especially for Lion’s Arch. There has been no indication on any future plans for both maps. It is definitely a general consensus among players to have Lion’s Arch and even Kisses Hills rebuild. There has been a wide variety of recommendations and requests as to what to do with both maps, but unfortunately at this time it looks like we’re going to have to resort to both maps continuing to be in a destroyed state.
I’d personally love to see some sort of ‘group effort,’ as it were, to where players would have to make donations and help build buildings by picking up hammers, building materials, etc, and having a progress bar that slowly filled up depending on the player’s involvement with the rebuilding. That would truly feel like we were ‘shaping the face of Tryia,’ but only time will tell.
This is killer sick. This is what I want from the UI design team in a video game that I’m truely passionate about. I must say, the Hero panel is a little too busy, like some others have mentioned. However, the LFG and espeically the Living Story tabs are so amazing I could stare at them all day. I wouldn’t assume the likelyhood of NcSoft using any of this design is anywhere above low because I can only imagine the legal issues that could come about, however it is seriously something that needs to be looked into. THIS is what a game needs to look like.
Sounds great, and I’d love you to be able to come! We’ll be randomly choosing from those who PM me. To do that: Click my name, then choose “Send a private message” (it’s the second option down on the list) (sort of in the left-hand side of the screen) and tell me you’d like to attend. I’ll be collecting a name and address because we need to put in official info for the guest list (and then when the guests sign in at the will-call table the PAX folks will check ID to make sure the ticket’s going to the proper person).
Hope you can go!
My driver’s license is not the correct address. Will this cause an issue if I was to be selected and go at the check in desk?
I want a pass please! I only live 2 hours from San Antonio and I’m off work on Saturday and would totally make the drive to be there. Never been to anything like that before, comic con or any gaming convention and I think it’d be killer to attend. How do I PM Gale to have a chance to go?

Sweet thanks! If I’m randomly selected will I need to purchase any type of ticket to get into PAX to attend the guild wars presentation or would the guest pass get me into the event itself?

YES PLEASE!! I would buy so many more of them from the Gem Store and/or try to farm for them more if I knew they wouldn’t take up my very limited inventory space.
I’m always in complete awe of pretty much every detail of Guild Wars 2, however the sounds that monsters and even abilites makes in the game continues to blow me away. This is espeically the case with all the new Mordremoth creatures and the new Vinewrath cave. Man, those creepy sounds inside that cave are amazing. Just wanted to give a shout of to whom ever it is that creates and comes up with these sounds. Some insight into the process would be cool :P

OMG THIS ^ This is very interesting!
I had no idea it was a long known issue. Thanks for the information.
Hello. I have searched the forums to see if I could find anyone else having issues with this bug and could not, so I decided to make a post about it and hope that I’m not alone and/or I could get some feedback from the Devs. I just recently finished crafting the Mawdrey Back Item and wear it on my ranger. I have noticed a visual bug on the back item when using the ranger’s longbow skill Hunter’s Shot. This skill grants players invisibility for 3 seconds and causes the character to become transparent. This is when the visual bug happens. There’s a massive square on my back where the Mawdrey Back Item is located. It only looks this way while in invisibility stealth mode. I’ve attached a picture right after casting Hunter’s Shot and in stealth invisibility mode since it’s kind of hard to describe what I’m talking about here. Does anyone else have the issue? It’s not a huge problem, other than just ugly and odd to look at. I wonder if it has anything to do with my computer or not? I’ve never experienced this with any other back items or any other items in the game before or currently. Below are some specs of my computer in case the additional information helps. Thanks!
OP: Windows 8.1 64-Bit
Processor: AMD FX- 8350 Eight Core Processor 4.00 GHz
RAM: 8 GB
Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 650
If you think that walking distances between point A and point B in Guild Wars 2 is bad and/or too much, try playing Guild Wars 1 again/for the first time. I haven’t played GW1 in over a year or two and started a new character again the other day because I was getting bored with GW2 and all I could think was ‘Oh my God, where are my waypoints. I have to walk everywhere and for such long of distances!’ Also, in my opinion, we have too many waypoints as it is in GW2. This makes it very to easy to get to point A to point B, thus making mounts unnecessary, other than showing them off.
Hear my advice. Ignore ppl that only know to rage and complain about every little thing they can see. On forums are like 10-20 ppl that are like that, so try to ignore them, they either haters, they either ppl that just think that complaining so much will solve something. The only thing they can do is to discourage you and many other ppl that ofc, will be indoctrinated with “The game is dying”. This game will last at least 5 more years.
I hope so! I love this game! I probably spend too much time playing it ha.
It’s not a problem OP. It’s certainly not the problem you’re making it out to be. You’re concerned because the forum community is larger dissatisfied. If you took a snapshot of this community every six months or so, almost since launch, you’d find the same thing.
When we were getting content every two weeks, the forums were furious that it wasn’t permanent content. When ascended game out the forums were furious that the game now has vertical progression. When the NPE came out, the forums are furious that the game is now being dumbed down and that they’re leveled gated. In six months the forums will be furious about something else.
The forums are always furious about something.
To be fair, some of the stuff is more reasonable than other stuff, but I’m not too worried about the content. Halloween is around the corner, and just after that we get more new area to explore.
I’m sure other stuff is in the works as well.
How much do you want to bet the Matrix Online forums looked the same way?
I remember there being a lot of feedback, positive and negative, on the forums, but i’d assume that every MMO forum has more harsh words than constructive. Well WoW might not. Player’s may be satisfied with that game. I wouldn’t know; never really played it.
Was Matrix Online aimed at the hardcore?
I thought it was pretty cool. Was just a massive city. Professions were like hackers and gunslingers and martial arts experts with cool slo-mo bullet time fighting like in the movies. The missions and living stories themselves weren’t extremely difficult, however soloing could be troublesome (and very repetitive, same ones over and over). There was this crazy thing they never fixed where you could just chill outside the doors or elevators of the buildings the missions took place in and shoot at the enemies and kill them without ever having them attack you haha.

This topic isn’t too be taken completely seriously, however I am concerned about similarities I currently see with Guild Wars 2 and a beloved canceled MMO of mine, The Matrix Online. Oh, what’s that? Never heard of it? It’s okay. It’s been cancelled for years now. And to be honest, looking back, it was rightfully deserved. However, my point is that there’s a few similarities between the two that cause me to worry about GW2’s future. For one, they both promised a living and breathing story unlike any you’ve ever seen where you, the player, gets to shape the story as it unfolds. Both have attempted this and done pretty well, but have it’s ups and downs. However, just like Matrix Online, Guild Wars is losing interest from it’s players because of this. Everyone is demanding new skills, content, professions, missions, events, dungeons, etc., just like Matrix Online players did. And they never received any. Second repeat, the living stories taking longer and longer to be released, just like the Matrix Online did in its last year, sadly ending the game, with the living sorry never being finished. Third, and most surprisingly, the Matrix Online felt the need to completely revamp it’s new player experience by changing the beginning of the game and how new players learn the game. Hmmm… That sounds very familiar. All I can say is I hope I’m just not putting these similarities together out of any reason other than just being bored, because of loved the Matrix Online and it sadly got canceled and I’d die to see GW2 lose so much interest that it’d just die off (doubt it’d ever actually be canceled).

I’m enormously fond of Lion’s Arch, and I dream of the day when it’s back to its former glory. I guess if you look at this in realistic terms, suffish and Stramatus are right: Itf it’s going to happen, the process would take time. After all, Rome wasn’t (re)built in a day.
I see more workers these days, and hey, CrimeDog, that’s one big rock!
Ha, this made me laugh pretty hard. It’s true though.
Also, yes it would be super amazing to, over the course of several months, see workers rebuilding Lions Arch into a new town while still incorporating the destruction of Lions Arch post Scarlet, similar to how they rebuilt it from the first time from GW1 destruction. (Omg, run on sentence.)
It is getting rebuilt slowly with each patch. The OP is just not looking hard enough!
It’s true! That one pile of rubble is 2 pixels lower than it was after the last patch!
I think there has been additional ‘Workers’ added here and there, banging away with their hammers at the same rocks all day. Oh the life of a video game NPC.
I can not remember the lore properly enough to go into detail, but if I remember correctly there was a specific point towards the end of the storyline of Guild Wars Nightfall where all the land became corrupted by Abbadon’s nightfall. Didn’t the landscape change drastically with horrors? I know they were just your own personal instances, but it would seem if they had the capabilities to make two different versions of the map back then, they surely should be able to nowadays, even with the open world change. It would be very cool to have a before personal story/after personal story. Heck, I’d even love to see all the changed that I have helped create and shape with all of the renown hearts and events as well. The first part about Nightfall could be completely inaccurate though, due to me not remembering it well enough; it’s been many a years.
I have to also agree that the delay to November is hopefully due in part by having the Halloween update in October, then living story in November, then Wintersday in December and continuing the living story yet again in January.
I’ve never posted on the forums when it pertains to players voicing a negative option that I don’t agree with because everyone is entitled to their own option. But now I feel like I have to say it baffles me at how much people complain about free content and how they want everything for little to no effort. It’s very strange to me, I must say. Yes, I’m currently grinding through the process to get the back item Ascended, and it can be frustrating at times, but what in life isn’t truly enjoyable without a lot of hard work that you can be proud of putting yourself through?
You know what baffles me? When people ignore everything said; argue with their own spin on a subject and always seem to finish with a lecture stemming from that bizarre work-ethic-cult-mentality, that seems to have consumed so many gamers.
On the subject of “little to no effort” vs “hard work” – my opinion is that it’s perfectly fine to desire content that takes time to complete, but nobody should be advocating doing things they absolutely do not enjoy, in a game!
ANet pushing its forced group/instanced content has been a major irritation for me since launch – it’s the primary reason I became disillusioned, and spent several months out of the game, last year. I’m actually only hanging around now for the WvW tournament, because I missed the previous couple. If ANet don’t fix this issue by the start of LS2/ part 2, I’m giving up on them completely.
Please forgive the snark at the beginning, but this issue and the predictable “you want everything for nothing” type responses, just makes me very angry.
After reading your response I can see where you are coming from, and I didn’t mean to offend anyone at all. It’s just the way I look at it. I never said I LIKED doing it though haha… No, no, it’s actually quite a boring grind. It just feels more rewarding working for it is all.

PS:
ANet should ask themself for every town for once the question:
Why should I as a player go to visit Rata Sum?
Why should I as a player go to visit Lion’s Arch ?
Why should I as a player go to visit Divinities Reach ?
Why should i as a player go to visit the Grove ?
Why should I as a player go to visit the Black Citadel ?
Why should I as a player go to visit Hoelbrak ?If the REASONS for doing so range just between 1 to under 3, then those towns are in a dire need for redesign and absolutely need more activities and other thigns, which are a good reason for why a player should want to go visit the town and that more than just only once and beign done with the town then forever.
I’ll make an example with DR here:
Why should I as a player want to go visiting DR and come back?
- Because I can play Shooting Range there (and only there)
- Because I can play Bar Brawls there
- Because I can find there Item Traders for Town Unique Weapons
- Because I can find there Item Traders for Town Unique Armors
- Because I can fidn there Item Traders for Town Unique Crafting Materials
- Because I can find there Karma Vendors for Town Unique Karma Items
- Because I can participate there on Town Unique Dynamic Events
- Because certain special human related holidays are celebrated there every now n then.
- Because the Laurel Vendor there has Town Unique rewards
- Because I can fulfill here for Queen Jennah special Scavenger Hunts and other meaningful tasks she pleases ME to do for her to get at the end for doing them some meaningful rewards
- Because I can go here constantly to the Crown Pavillion, DR’s special Collosseum to fight either duels, or tournaments against countless of monster waves to honor my battling skills and fight every now and then on special days agaisnt mighty Pavillion Champions like Liadri the Concealed Darkness & Co. (and see every now and then also new Champions appearing…)
- Because of my Player House in my Home Instance
- Because of http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Uzolan%27s_Mechanical_Orchestra allowing me to use Playback Mode to hear any of GW2’s Songs ect. whenever I want in the game, also all of those from older living stories, when you want to hear again maybe the music from scarlet invading lion#s Arch for example, you could hear it from Uzolans Playback Mode.
- Because of getting Order Missions from the 3 order headquarters in the Town
ect. ppThats the kind of amount of REASONS, that every single town of GW2 needs and sadly this is currently far away from beign so the case.
THIS. This, Sir, is I game I would want to play! Sadly… Well, you know the rest.
hmmm, i wonder…
AH nerd attack. I miss my fringe!
I just want to say a big thank you to most of the people in this thread.
I love you guys.
Patch after patch you are making me richer cause you want everything on the first day.
Please never change and keep supporting me!
HA! I just need to point out that this is funny. Because it’s so true. I almost decided to spend the ridiculous amount of gold for them on the TP, but then thought, nah I can wait, I don’t need it now. It won’t mean as much to own one if I didn’t personally take the time and effort to make it myself. Anyhow still funny though.
I have been trying for hours to get these two achievements and I just can’t seem to make it to the top. Do mesmers still port players on jumping puzzles in order to help them get the achievements? If anyone who can port me would be kind enough to do so, it would be most appreciated. My character name is Lionel Caldwin. PM me in game or respond on here. Thank you very much.
Oh wow nice I had no idea I didn’t pay enough attention to the NPC’s there apparently. Nice find and thanks for the work on compiling the dialogue. Nice to see lore and story intertwined within small details such as this.
Kindof dangerous to have nothing for 10days

So I’m confused and can’t find the information so I’m asking on here. When will be the next update? Has that even been established yet? And further more, do we know when season 2 will start? Thanks.
I’m stuck at work for a few more hours… Anyone have the cinematic uploaded to YouTube or any site yet to view on a smart phone?
Wow. Well at at least have to agree with the Lions Arch bit, but the other is crazy and might just be the case and would blow my mine! haha
use ash legion spy kits for commune skill points. There aren’t too many that you need to fight for.
Something like that exists! Ha Never knew. Nice to know now. Oh so many veterans I’ve struggled with when I could have simply did this. Thanks.
If you need help with the skill points then let me know. I’m on the same server.
I usually don’t bother to fight at all and just run to all of vistas, Poi’s, waypoints, and sneak towards a skill point hoping there’s no veteran. You can also learn to make use of your elementals and hounds as a distraction to get skill points. I often did this a lot when I was to lazy to kill things first. Logging out also resets aggro but make sure to log out somewhere safe.
As far as gear goes, buy rares. You can farm gold for exotics but with them being 4 gold a piece, you’d probably be better off farming dungeons. You can then salvage the rares after you get your exotics and likely recover the cost with ectos.
Ha yeah I usually tried to run around and sneak by enemies to get to vistas pois and skills but there’s just so many I just can’t make it alone I fear. And never thought of using the elementals to distract them before. I’d like the help if you are still offering.
Sorry I left some of that information out of my original post. Yes I’m in a large guild that’s pretty active. I haven’t thought of asking anyone in the guild and lions arch about helping. Good idea. Also I’m on Blakegate server and my elementalist’s name is Malphas Turring. And as far as my gear it’s all level 80 and relativity good i thought but not a rare or exotic. I need to work on getting some exotic armor. I have giving some thought into just starting over with my Engineer or Necro that i have that are both around level 10 but I’ve just spend so much work in this elementalist just to get frustrated with it all ha.
I’m slightly frustrated with Orr. I finally reached Straits of Devastation and Machor’s Leap the other day and I am finding it completely impossible to even walk around and explore, much less do anything like the vistas/POIs/waypoints/events. The shear amount of Risen is staggering. I understand it’s the end of the game but there must surely be something I don’t understand about these areas and/or playing the game because I can’t do anything down there. I’d love to finish the world completion and my personal storyline seeing how Orr is all I have left, but I just die instantly. I feel like being an elementalist doesn’t help either, but that might just be an excuse for not fully understand how to play the profession because I usually can’t go more than 15 minutes without dying in any given map on the game. Are there any tips for completing these extremely hard areas? I understand that teaming up with players is an obvious suggestion but I never see anyone around, even with all the events just sitting there with no one to help partake in. Finishing this game has been an extremely tiring struggle for me for reasons I don’t fully understand, whether be it the level of difficulty in the game, the small amount of active players in the end game areas, my lack of understanding the profession i’m playing, or even just me not fully understanding the combat mechanics of an elementalist. I might have gotten a little off topic but I just feel like there’s something that I’m just not getting that if I knew it’d help me love the game so much more instead of just simply tolerating the game only because of my love for the series and allow me to finish these difficult end game areas. Anyhow thank you for your time.
While trying to jump over into the north part of the Scorchlands inside the Iron Marches I fell down in a crack in between two rock formations and got stuck there. However, while stuck there I realized while trying to jump out of the spot my character floated in the air and screamed and thrashed around like characters do when falling from a high distance. Took a screen of me floating there with the map location. Went back and tried it again and it still did it so it wasn’t a fluke. Anyhow slightly annoying that you can’t get unstuck in spots like this and have to waypoint out of it, thus wasting money, but kind of a cool little bug though. Or i thought so.
