If you remove the extra APs I don’t think that anyone else in the game would complain.
I will. If you don’t want the extra AP’s, you have the option to simply stay away from doing them. It’s a bit like WvW Season 1 vs. 2, where Season 1 took quite a while and Season 2 was finished within a windblow. I wouldn’t mind more achievements like the one you mention in Snowball Mayhem, but nerfing the other ones is just a waste for those who really want to work for them.
Apologies then. I truly did not think that anyone would complain about removing the extra repeatable APs.
And I am sure there also are many AP hunters that exactly feel the opposite. I like farming and I like repeatable AP.
Life is always a matter of tradeoffs wherever and however you look at it. It is up to you to chose whether you prefer to enjoy time away from the game or to obsess on some temporary AP, but you can’t be perfect at both. Better get comfortable with that idea.
Of course it’s a choice. I’m just trying to make the game better for everyone. You say that you like farming and repeatable AP. If the APs were removed from repeatable (only given at the first “pass”) will you be annoyed?
I’m not judging, I’m trying to clarify if you enjoy playing several hours all the available content in the game.
(edited by DDRitter.1872)
I’m pretty sure that I’m not the only AP hunter that likes:
- Permanent achievements that grants us AP.
- Hard achievements that grants us AP.
- Non-repeatable achievements that grants us AP.
and hates:
- Temporary achievements that grants AP only if you are not away for several days.
- Easy achievements that grants AP by just spending gold or talking to a NPC.
- Repeatable achievements that grants AP if you spend several hours doing something that was fun the first two hours.
Last halloween’s Lunanic Inquisition was a good example of bad achievement choices, but this wintersday you created another repeatable, temporary achievement that forces us to play more than 15 hours average to get all the APs.
In Snowball Mayhem, you don’t choose to give us APs for returning 20 gifts, or for killing 20 enemies, or dropping 5 enemy gifts. You give us a simple, extreme easy, enter-and-do-nothing achievement that only requires one thing from us: stay on the computer dozens of hours “playing”.
This post pretends to be constructive. I know that AP hunters are not the majority of the playerbase, but we exist too. Repeatable events that grant APs are not funny. If you remove the extra APs I don’t think that anyone else in the game would complain.
Please, make everyone happy.
On a side note, if you are going to continue with the easy talk-to-the-NPC achievements, I suggest a name change for “Achievements”. “Tasks” fits more properly.
Thanks for all the answers. I really miss an official response.
I’m talking about the use of invulnerabilities in the base of the wurm to prevent husks from spawning.
It’s considered an exploit to do so? I’m in a server who is doing regularly the event and I receive different answers for this question. I would appreciate some official statement about this.
On the other hand, if the answer is yes, why don’t you change the code to make the husks also invulnerables while they are flying away?
Definitely it’s not a boring farm and it’s a great improvement from other zergfest
Here in Baruch Bay [ES] we do several Dry Top T6 runs every week. It’s pretty easy to reach T6 once you organize the players in a few groups. If someone is interested in joining us, you can whisper me ingame in the previous minutes before the run (from XX:50 to XX:59) or join us on TS3 and ask for a taxi.
I leave here our current weekly schedule. If you understand spanish you are welcomed in our TS3 (ts3.guildwars2-spain.com, channel “Eventos de comunidad” and all the subchannels from there), or you can just enter to see if there are any changes on the schedule. Dry Top runs are indicated with the sand icon.
Constructive criticism: If you are going to implement something new that objectively limits our freedom, you should allow us to use the old system as an option, not remove it completely.
Best option should be: How many gems do you want? Fill field form. Then you show the costs. Accept or Cancel. Simple.
2. Implement measures that counteract low-end outlier behavior inside of game design. This would be a system that is something like: If player hasn’t received a rare drop in X time send them Y tickets for random drops.
2.5: “Add secondary reward mechanisms (ie. token based system) alongside the primary RNG system; allow progress to be made even when you don’t get the result you want.”
#2.5 Is a nice addition. Options are always welcomed and if you can reach an objective by doing two different things more players will be happy.
But really, the game needs #2 badly. After more than 6.000 hours of gameplay, the only precursors I have (2) are from Mystic Forge massive tries, which in my opinion doesn’t count to the normal way of getting a precursor “by playing”.
On the other hand, I have a friend with almost the same exact amount of hours played and 5 precursors drop.
I know that this can sound selfish, but it’s not, really. I was very lucky with ambrite fossils and I think that other players who are still struggling to get their 2nd or 3rd fossil should receive special, increased drop rate until they get what should be reasonable after X amount of chests opened.
Thanks for starting this topic.
I really don’t like the idea of point 2 onward , as coming from GW1 the best feeling in game was farming for the drop that you wanted and receiving it for your hard work ( although I never got my MPB lol) ,and I feel that a cop-out token to basically say here sorry the system isn’t working for you would be a giant step backward.
They do not need to send you a token, the devs can put it directly in your next drop and you will never know if it was just luck or “luck”.

As Anet said, it is not against the ToS to use a macro IF 1 click = 1 action
in your case, 1 click = 1 purchase.
I would recommend using an auto clicker.
Careful, I think that auto clickers are against ToS, since you just are not even playing actively when you use them.
At least now we have some use for those level 20 experience scrolls. Instant access to the personal story.
Please: Please fix this. This: This makes no sense.
Living world seasons are free if you just are alive and log in the game at least once every 2 weeks. It is not a big deal.
Honestly, I’m surprised that each chapter only costs 200 gems.
It’s not convenient, it doesn’t stack with food and most people, I think, will end up preferring their food.
Oh!, I thought that it stacked with regular food, since the icon is different. Nevermind, then.
Am I the only one that does not want a permanent inventory slot item that gives +40 to all stats? I mean, it’s so big that every player will want to get that bonus, continuously.
What’s the point of a consumable bonus that everyone will use? Will ANet adjust enemies to this new stat, making the buff useless? Will they leave everything as it is, making the game even easier?

Speed buffs work wonders.
I just want to say that I loved the SAB and I would like it to return someday. Please don’t close that… box.
So… maybe an optional paid expansion pack with the SAB only? I would pay easily 30$ for w3 and w4.
I just don’t want my infinity coin reimbursed. I want to erode it from frequent use!

If I understand it, those of us who purchased more than 3 tags will get a refund for the remaining tags (100 g for 4 tags, 200 g for 5 tags…). I think that it would be fair if, instead of the gold refund, we receive an additional color tag.
For example: If you have 4 tags, you get blue and one additional coloured tag and if you have 7 tags you get blue and two additional colored tags.
What do you think?
Do not use F1. Maybe the hint does not pop up because you are doing it right.
We at Baruch Bay are able to kill it with fire every week. It just needs organization and TS3.
We need more things to use them on or to atleast be able to sell them. Myself and tons and tons of other people have gotten to the point we just destroy them. They take up inventory space.
Without giving any specifics, I’d highly recommend you change that strategy. There are things coming soon that will give you lots to spend it on.
That was eight months ago. I would like a definition of “soon” by any ANet spokesperson. I’m literally (not literally) drowning in Dragonites/Bloodstones/Empyreals.
Please, allow us to recycle that into something useful, like luck, agony resistance or my favorite: thermocatalytic reagents!
People who does not like to jump should use the Multiplayer option of this game, get some mesmer friends and ask for portals. Problem solved.
This kind of “hard” platform content is ideal for social interaction. I love it!
1500 currently.
Same here. If this happens in sPvP, it needs to be fixed ASAP, please.
I’m currently with OVER 9.000 (pun intended) daily APs, and very happy about this implementation:
- AP hoarders like me will have more time each day to focus on the other achievements (WvW, Living Story, …).
- Non-AP hoarders will not reach the cap until a couple of years from now, and probably by that time we will have a lot of other permanent achievements to get. It also helps them reach the AP hoarders if they decide to go up in the ranking.
I think that this is the best quality of life implementation in the game for us all.
It’s a win-win.
Edit: By the way, I don’t think that anyone was able to reach the 10.000 daily APs yet. I almost did every daily since day one and I still need a few hundred points to cap.
Edit 2: Currently, the AP ranking reflects the lack of social life of the players listed. With this change, only players that actually completed the permanent, “harder” achievements will be on top.

In the General Options panel. Change audio language to “English”. I had it in “Use Text Language Settings” and it happened the same to me.

16.500 APs and I totally agree with the OP.
Just remove the extra daily achievement points (no more points once you get 5 achievents in daily) and you won’t have to rush to fix things fast in order to calm us.
Fact: It’s easier to share a build by saying “I, IV and XI”.
Please Anet, either make the golem account bound, or allow us to repeat the instance with our alts. I prefer the first option because I hate character bound items. It’s a mess in the bank when you have 8 alts.
This is a minor bug, but I think that it should be addressed. A lot of players use the right mouse button to move the camera, and in jumping puzzles (like SAB), most of the time we keep the right mouse button pressed.
When there is a transition (loading a new area), the game “forgets” that we have the right button pressed, and we need to raise and click again to regain control of the camera.
I know that it does not sound like a big deal, but it’s annoying to fall to your death because you can’t turn in mid-air until you realize that the camera is not responding, again.
Tx in advance!
We are aware of this and are taking steps to mitigate this type of play.
Direct question: Are you going to ban the players that use this bannable technique?
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/legal/guild-wars-2-rules-of-conduct/
Specifically, point 22: “While participating in Plaver-vs-Player (PvP) gameplay, you will not participate in any form of match manipulation. Match manipulation is defined as any action taken to fix or manipulate the outcome of a match or alter or manipulate the rankings or ratings of the ladder. This also includes disrupting other people’s game experience by not actively participating in matches in good faith, a.k.a leeching.”
If you don’t ban those players, what’s the message for the rest of the community who abide to the rules and try to enjoy this game?
With the new crafting raised to 500, will cooks get new recipes and consumables too?
Just curious. :P
So… I like hard achievements, and I understand that you don’t want to increase the fight lenght because it can increase the qeues, but I think I figured out a way to help players getting this achievement without affecting too much others:
Every orb that you throw to Liadri once she is in the second phase increases the time left by 10 secs.
What do you think?
Well… I have to say that I managed to solo it just now. I finished it with 1.000 supplies left, but at the end I was just avoiding being killed.
Thief almost full berserker with pistols, whip and stealth to avoid some aggro. The only problem with this build was the 11.000 health, but if you manage to avoid the aggro and just kill the robbers, no one should attack you.
You just need to keep watching the timer and count (20-22 secs once you kill a robber another one will respawn). At 5:30 appears the first robber in the right side, with two friends (stealth and wait for the robber to return).
It’s more a timing challenge than a combat one, in my opinion. The only problem with this event is that I don’t think that all the professions can complete it.
Yes, please. I have 8 alts and I don’t want to beat Adnul 8 times.
+1 to the idea of making a second set of utility skills and assign a key to switch between them, like we do with the weapons. Only for out of combat situations, of course.
I want an official answer as well, please. Including the Candy Corn Meter from Halloween.
The perfect solution to avoid this questions: You should remove those items automatically at the end of the events if they don’t have a purpose.
Sounds illegal. It makes your gameplay easier by removing the need to check the skill’s cooldown. Also removing the need to move fingers to press that button.
I’m not sure about the 5 minutes, but something like a 30 sec. countdown, or make impossible to leave while in combat.
And possibly a “count-disconnections-as-death-if-you-were-in-PvP-combat”.
Just as the title says: Give us the ability to roll just before reaching ground and reduce a small percentage of the falling damage.
If it’s not very hard to implement, of course.
TW;DR → Too Wow, Didn’t Read :P
So… I’m guessing that those people who think its “strange” for a male to play a female character or vice versa only have human characters, right?
Never try to roll for an Asura or a Charr, unless that’s your real life race. :P
MMORPG… the hint is in the fourth letter.
I would like to see a remake of the tower next year, but this time with some static platforms and the whole spiral os staircases and rocks rotating counter-clockwise towards us. This would make the jumps a lot harder from the static platforms to the incoming spiraling knigtmare. :^P
But please, next time, give us a title for the achievent. I think we deserve it.
Ok. It seems that the doors to the realm no longer show up as pumpkins. I was in queendale and went through a normal halloween door after opening it and fighting some monsters.
Just look for the regular doors and try both sides (maybe only one side works).
Human
Mesmer
No speed buffs but high heart rate buff at the end. :P
