I went for a steampunk look on two of my characters. I’m not sure if steampunk would classify as sci-fi though.

I just feel like they are giving us these repetitive achievements to occupy our time, instead of, something fun like more dynamic events. Think about how much more they could’ve done for Dry Top.

Why not a merchant escort? Why not rescuing someone stuck in a sandstorm? Bandits attacking the village?

Instead of doing the story all over again just for the achievements, and of course, just to keep us busy.

It’s almost like they’re using achievements now to give us something to do, instead of adding more content in what they release – which would give us something to do as well as enjoy.

It’s hard to explain, I just feel…well…bored :/ I think I’m part of the minority in that case since everyone else seems to love Dry Top and/or the state of the game in general.

Am I the only one here who doesn’t enjoy doing things like gimmicky jumping or “run as fast as you can from A to B” achievements to pass the time ingame?

I find myself logging off as soon as a EoTM commander logs off, as I just don’t want to waste time in PvE areas doing either the same map completions over and over again to level alts.

I still buy stuff from the Gem Store because stuff like new armour and outfits add to the quality of my game, but I don’t feel the need to log in and go and do all those achievements and all those things again.

I somehow feel like the game is improving at such a slow pace that I just might end up logging in every two weeks to unlock the current Living Story episode. And that is a sad thought – that such a beautiful game would just end up being virtually shelved.

So I know Arenanet has made it clear how they hate grind and farming, but what about some of us players who enjoy farming? What about some of us who enjoying defending a point against the hordes? What about those who enjoy killing wave after wave of enemies, which fuel our fun and our wallets…

I was never a fan of champion farming trains in Queensdale – I had way more fun defending Orr against the undead. I guess you could call it large-scale PvE, where you and other players would stand against hordes of mobs.

I don’t know if I’m alone in my tastes, but I actually like farming. Does anyone else feel the same?

We literally have nothing to do now except WvW.

Predator has no aura while stowed, and has footprints that last a fraction of the time that incinerator footprints last.

Only the greatswords get visual effects while being stowed – like Eternity.

How or where is the best place to stack up on Empyreal Fragments? Say about 100-200 per day?

I really like how GW2 subtly blends the steampunk with traditional fantasy, making such characters entirely lore-appropriate!

If you’re looking for a replacement shoulder, try the Watchwork ones, I think that with the right dyes, those might work with the overal sleek-but-mechanical look you went for.

Thanks! I already tried previewing with the Watchwork Shoulder piece, that we got tonnes of during the Queen’s Jubilee. Unforunately, the metal it used didn’t match the rest of the armours’ metal, and it also left one shoulder entirely bear (which didn’t look right, to me). COME ARENANET! MORE STEAMPUNK / TECH GEAR! xD

The shoulder piece looks okay on the current configuration – it adds a bit to the steampunk look I was going for. While I’m not a fan of that giant cog there, I do like how the rest of the piece looks. Would’ve been great if that cog was animated in some way! I am keeping an eye out for any other steampunk-y shoulder, that I could use as a viable replacement

NB: I’m using SweetFX, hence the colours xD

I tried asking the above question from GW2 Support – but they gave me a canned, vague, unhelpful answer about 3rd party applications.

So I turn to you, player community xD! I don’t want to get permabanned for using SweetFX, but if there is a risk, then I won’t use it.

So are there any out there who use SweetFX? What are the dangers?

I don’t know if this has been suggested in the past, but I was wondering if it would be possible to animate the short stories that are posted, and have them play in-game as ‘artsy’ cutscenes when you begin the LS content?

Greatswords are Arenanet’s favoured weapons at the moment. :P

I know you’re asking a dev, but just providing you with some additional information.

The movement speed bonus is non-stacking, and the game will choose the highest bonus you are currently get (either from traits or signets). This might explain why some of you guildies don’t notice a difference, if they are expecting it to stack with other movement speed boosts they have active.

The other mistake, obviously as everyone who has posted about legendaries this past year will know, is that the items (gifts) to creat the legendary are all account-bound, yet when that final purple item, the weapon itself is created, it’s soulbound. I believe this is wrong, so do most people, and like the gifts, that legendary should be account bound and freely transferrable to any toon you wish.

The final Legendary, when it pops out of the MF is not soulbound. It can be transferred via bank or mailed to someone else, or posted on TP for sale, which is what some people have done.

It is “soulbound on equip”.

I think he/she was referring to how the armour skin itself differs based on the gender.

Anyone having trouble switching crafting professions? The Master Craftsmen NPCs seem broken in this regard…

You can get it for karma from Kessex or Snowden – the entire set is available if you go to all the ‘Heart’ karma vendors. And being low-level areas, you don’t need to spend a lot to get the whole set.

Are there any new armour skins coming with Cutthroat Politics? Gemstore or otherwise.

I doubt the Ascended armour will be coming with this patch, right?

I’m still deciding on who to vote for.

Interesting to see that everyone is expecting either a GW2 version of the final boss battle of GW Nightfall, or to be able to play as one of the Gods in some sort of epic battle of heavenly proportions. Anyway this speculation seems to be the motivator.

How do you know that the Fractal will allow you to do this? What will you do if the Fractal doesn’t do this and just turns out to be a normal run where you play a second-hand or even third-hand role.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying to bash anyone. I just want to know how you all are so sure about the Fractal content. I might have missed a post with some additional information.
