What about the rewards? what do you think of them? I’m getting tired of back pieces over and over, I only have so many characters and as a result so many backs. Not to mention they aren’t even dye-able!
Let me first just say that I love the idea of living story. The bi-weekly updates are great for a free to play game.
However, they have a huge flaw. Until now, with the new dungeon path, we haven’t had any actually new, and not reworked content since Southsun Cove in November of last year. I feel like the world isn’t actually changing, it is not even “living” like Anet wants it. The world is just going through these temporary shifts, like seasons or holidays. Nothing comes to stay in any real way or for that long. All we get in return for it is achievement points and a back piece or mini as a trinket. I would love to see Anet actually start doing more permanent content like the new dungeon phase. Give us actually new zones that will stay, not these temporary gifts. It’s like having a new toy every 2 weeks, only to have it taken from you and you given another that isn’t better or worse. After a while these new toys achieve less and less player satisfaction, at least for me. Permanent content = meaningful content is I guess what I’m trying to say. I like going to an area I’ve conquered or done, but instead all these past events are just memories that are less and less gratifying after completing.
What I’m asking is, does anyone else feel this way? Like they are being rewarded less and less? If so, how would you fix that?
(edited by Dagnis.2936)
Yup, it’s my unlimited coin. XD
nvm, it’s fixed now.. XD
I had the ones from the TP! They weren’t from the box. I only have a buy more option and not a sell. I bought these way back during the first SAB off the TP.
So I made the decision to buy some GS skins thinking I could turn them around and sell for a profit.. but I log in to find I can’t sell them? So now I’m stuck with 3 skins. Is this a bug or is this by design?
ps, if this is by design could I have at least got a warning!??!?!
For getting the essence of luck (which from my understanding only will come from blues and greens and not rares) will the salvage kit I use matter? Is it a “rarer material”? or is it a 100% chance?
With the main stat being crit dmg? Do you think that will be more popular then berserker?
(edited by Dagnis.2936)
For claw made inscriptions and such, what will the new stat combo be post patch? Obviously it will prolly include power and precision, but what will replace magic find?
So I’m starting to learn how to play the TP market and I thought of a cool idea that I’m sure others have thought of. Is it possible, using APIs to request to selling price of an item and place that data on excel, having it update every once in a while? I’m hoping that someone has already done this somewhere and would have a guide maybe on how to do it.
With the ability to change the stats, will the legendaries now be account bound? Half the reason I’ve held off on making one as a person who plays 8 characters is because it would be stuck on one character.
Just a quick question. Is it a bannable offense if you find a buyer for a high priced item and trade via mail, completely off the TP? I ask because I would suspect that someone mailing another person 1600 gold and a person mailing a legendary would look potentially suspicious if the full story wasn’t known.
My complaint about the wvw looting was just getting to press f and get it. I’ve literally hakittens disappear within 15 seconds of them dropping. I’ll give an example of what happened to me the other day. I was in the middle of a zerg on zerg fight and we took out a sentry. In order to get wvw exp and credit I jumped into the circle to take the sentry spot, I realized when i jumped in that i missed a bag just outside my reach, about 500 distance I’d say from the circle. By the time the take ended, which was less then 10 seconds, the bag went away. No loot for me.
Why of all things are you guys getting all rallied up on about the WvW thing? What about my other suggestions?
My point is that not everyone can “spam that sucker” and still be 100% effective. Also, sometimes loot goes away faster then you realize and you just miss it.
After reading over the blog post I didn’t see 4 things I was hoping for, a couple of which I understand wasn’t mentioned. Since these weren’t mentioned, please take them as suggestions.
1. There was no mention of legendarys becoming account bound once they are made. I like the idea of being able to still make The hunter, which I’m very close to, using it, and than moving it to my warrior when the new rifle legendary comes out (if one does). I understand that this one wouldn’t be mentioned since it was small.
2. Depositable tokens. ANET, you’ve teased us for so long with this. When are you finally going to make that “deposit collectible” white for such things like wvw tokens, dungeon tokens, etc.
3. The ability to save builds. We had this in GW1, so why not here? Most of the reason why I don’t try lots of different builds with my 7 level 80s is because I can’t save multiple builds. Instead I find that I have to stick with one talent build for most of them. I would love the ability to save builds so I dont’ have to memorize them and can easily change around when needed.
4. An npc to talk to in WvW so that you can collect your missing loot. With all the love WvW gets, I’m shocked something like this hasn’t happened yet. What I envision here is an npc that all the loot you’d get simply goes to this npc for collection instead of bags on the ground. Sure these bags appear at your feet, but when you are in a 50+ vs 50+ zerg fight, the last thing you want to do is worry about loot, but sadly thats what these bags cause us to do. Removing these bags would allow players to care more about the fight, and make wvw less about the loot.
5. It was mentioned that salvaging would be better for blues and greens due to them having a chance to drop magic find increasing consumables. Thats cool, but two things could be added to this. Blues and Greens I feel should give more materials by nature since you are sacrificing a higher vender price (ya I know it’s not much higher, but just go with it.) Also, since we’ll be salvaging Greens, the warning asking if we are sure we want to salvage it should be made an option that we can turn off, both for Greens and Yellows while we are at it.
Just some things I thought should be added, especially with the new blog post. I encourage comments because then maybe some of this will get done.
So I deleted my 3rd ele (having trouble getting the last class I have to get to 80 off the ground) and I didn’t realize it until after, but she had the witch costume I bought waaay back in october. Is there any way I can get back this costume that I paid money for? If not, well.. you know what to add next Anet..
With the notable changes, I was curious as to what the current preferred build is for CoF p1 that is going around the table sort to speak.
Am I the only one who realized this? The jump shot doesn’t actually jump anymore. We just skim along the ground. It no longer allows us to be unique with jumping puzzles, making jumps that other classes can’t (yes I know this is kinda a pointless argument because the puzzles aren’t designed for us). Instead we now fall when attempting a jump. Any idea if we can have this ability back? It was my favorite part of the engineer.
Really? Is there something we are missing? This seems like a big F you to over half the classes in the game. Not to mention it seems like there are lots of buggy explosions with the mines, even if you use the right type. This isn’t my first time doing this.
Just about what the topic is called. Any idea when the Canach’s Lair solo reward of 10 karka shells, 1g, the karma, and whatever, resets? I was under the impression it reset at the normal time for dailies, as I was able to do it both before and after yesterday and get two rewards.
This is in regards to patches, both mentioned and non mentioned server side ones. I wish you would be more transparent with the changes that you do. It seems like you only mentioned half of the patched content that is changed, and for some of the fine tuning that is changed, you simply say “adjusted the rate for xyz.” In what why did you adjust it? did you increase it? decrease it? I care alot about xyz, I wanna know! Thats only for the stuff mentioned too. I just wish you would explain your patch notes further, adding everything. Another good example is the addition of ascended accessories for 50 ectos and such. When it was added, I read nothing of it in the patch notes (to the best of my memory).
A prime example about an unmentioned server side patch is the loot changes at the popular farming spot that just happened today. I myself farmed there, and I find it annoying that it was not flat out mentioned, even if it wasn’t from the new patch we downloaded. I’m not saying I want to know everything, ie I don’t care if you changed how common a bit of npc dialogue is, But I want to know the stuff that will cause a question in the game (Like how you guys added the npc and achievements for bar brawl but haven’t mentioned it AT ALL in any patch notes, not even a “This npc was added, along with achievements for it. The event is not currently implemented and will be activated in the coming months.”)
Just my 2 cents about the whole patches and the notes you do.
Aren’t the tentacles from the back piece always suppose to be moving? They only swing and sway with my movement, and don’t seem to me alive when I stand still.
I finally got to unlocking all the pets on my ranger today, a kind of notable achievement, only to not actually get any achievement points.
So I started talking to my guildies about the idea of Profession based achievements, and we came up with quite a few. Feel free to add.
Warrior:
X amount of kills with adrenaline.
X amount of buffs applied to allies via shouts
X amount of banners placed
X amount of players revived via warbanner

X amount of kills using a turret (or finishing with a turret)
X amount of supply crates deployed
X amount of elixirs drank
X amount of elixirs thrown
X amount of kills with kits
X amount of Mortar kills
Necromancer:
X amount of kills with death shroud
X amount of kills using minions
X amount of enemies killed after applying more then a certain amount of conditions to them
X of condition/boon switched via wells
Guardian:
X amount of projectiles reflected or blocked
X amount of health healed on allies
X amount of enemies placed on fire (virtue of justice)
X amount of blocks on allies via aegis applied by you

X amount of signets or glyphs activated
X amount of weapons summoned
X amount of summoned weapons used by other players
Mesmer:
X amount of illusions/clones shattered
X amount of people portaled over time
X amount of mantras charged and used
X amount of times stun/daze/confusion applied
Theif:
X amount of allies made invisible

Ranger:
X amount of targets killed at 1k plus range
X amount of times you’ve activated your pets ability
X amount of pets collected
X amount of spirit buffs applied
X amount of times you’ve had a trap activate and hit 2 or more targets
These are just a slew of a few examples that me and my guildies came up with. Feel free to +1 and add your own ideas for Profession based achievements.
Each of these classes would have their own meta achievement that would come with a title, showing that you have completed them and are, if not skilled, at least well versed with your class. The idea of these achievements would not be anything farmable, or at least easily farmable, but simply ones that are somewhat of a core element of the class and not super easily obtained.
This has happened three times in a row now. We’ll get her down to 50, she go poof, and then she’ll come back when we get her, 10 to 15 secs. We will hit her down to 50, with time to spare in the 45 seconds allowed. However, she will ignore the time remaining and go poof again. It’s like she doesn’t actually change to phase 2. My most recent attempt one player said that if she gets up to 60 while healing she stays in phase 1. Is this true? Also, does the time it takes you to get her visable agin take away from the 45 secs?
Just trying to figure out what i’m doing wrong before i throw up my hands and beg an experienced group to drag my zerker warrior through it.
Ps. Excluded from this is my fustration with ignorate players who don’t pay attention to the putrification and the 10 sec warning. What i’m mostly asking for is any odd bits of information that camn be missed and can make or break the fight.
Current Problem: Loot in WvW is very easy to miss and forget, especially in crowded situations where you can’t take the time to look for bags or spam F.
Solution: Add a tab to the WvW window that works similar to the TP item pick up list. It will show all the loot that you’ve gained so far. This loot can either be grabbed right then, or an NPC can be placed at the starting locations in each borderlands that would allow you to grab your loot. This would make the loot seem more of a “We heard of your accomplishments on the battlefield and this is what we salvaged off your dead foes” sort of thing. By making it like the TP, people won’t have to adjust that much to the idea and it’ll change very smoothly. Also, we won’t get our bags filled with loot mid fight, nor will we miss the loot.
When I open up my client it gets stuck starting to patch. Before it shows the login info (email and password) it downloads.. something like it normally does for a patch. It gets stuck at 10461 KB and then gives me an error saying that an unexpected error was encountered (what errors aren’t unexpected?). I try again and again, but no dice. Same amount of KB each time. Any ideas? I can’t run on admin. GW2 has worked fine on this computer before this moment.
Still haven’t found it… trolls.. XD
And where abouts is that? I found the one between the 1st and 2nd checkpoints and the one at the end.
So lets make a list shall we? I’m missing one..
2 shops
2 obvious bomb spots
(One between checkpoints 1 and 2 on left wall)
(another on left wall shortly after checkpoint 2)
2 none obvious (both before checkpoint 1)
1. behind waterfall
2. at first check point, turn around and hug the right to the corner and bomb
I can’t find the 7th.. lol
I’m having an error causing the same problem, however, not with confirmation. Instead no matter what way I attempt, I can’t seem to successfully purchase gems. I get to approval and it always fails. I’ve tried 2 cards, and paypal, which gives me an error when the purchase goes back to guildwars2.com… q.q
Whats the best server to be on for free pick up turny games?
There is a bug where the traps can become glitched at 100% and never discharge despite the ghost eater not entering their range. Anyone have a fix to this? All three of the traps aren’t working for us and are now bugged. they don’t appear on the mini map now either. As a result he won’t become indestructible.

I don’t know if anet plans on adding these changes in the future but I have two suggested changes for the bank that were easily overlooked (one i was surprised about because it works the way I’m going to suggest in gw1.)
1.when double clicking an item in the bank or inventory there is no code to check if you have an already preexisting stackof that object that is capable to be added to, instead making a new incomplete stack of the item. This work both ways currently, from bank to inventory and vise versa. My suggestion is to have it work the way it did in gw1, and simply have the game add to any available stacks before creating a new one.
2.Guild bank: currently it is impossible to combine stacks that are seperated in this bank. As a result a player must take out both stacks and combine them in their inventory, and then place the new stack in the guild bank. Would be nice if one could combine these stacks without having to do this.
3. Lastly: when a bank tab is closed and an item is double clicked from your inventory it will check for empty spots in those closed tabs first (if those closed tabs are on top of the first open one) instead of simply going for the first empty spot in the first open tab. Would be nice if it did this.
Hope some or all of these small quality of life changes get made.
Ah ya. Thank you so much. It would appear that if you transfigure an item that is not soulbound with an item that is, it becomes account bound. Non soulbound items can easily be bought from an armor or weapon merchant.
This prolly sounds like a stupid question, but is there anyway that my engineer who went durmond priory can get the vigil rifle? I dislike the durmond priory rifle but love the vigil, however I didn’t think to pay attention to the weps and such when picking a faction, as the engineer was my first character.
Part of why I love making alts is because I find new things that (as far as I noticed before) weren’t there. I just made a human alt and got the first bit of mail, starting my personal story and it has audio with Quinn reading it out. I LOVE THIS! keep it up! Such a small thing but it really makes these personal story notes feel like it’s the characters talking to me, not just an automated squire or whatever talking to me.
Simple question. How long will the event starting at noon PDT last? I ask because I feel sorry for my friend who works till 3:30ish pm PDT, and if the event doesn’t last that long, he can’t take part.
I had a friendly carving competition with some friends and ended up getting 2nd place (out of about 8 pumpkins). It didn’t take me too long to make this, about 30 mins or so of carving. I’m no pro, but I figured I’d share my work for those who want to take a gander. The right teeth weren’t cut out but they were outlined. After taking the picture I realized this and quickly cut them out, but didn’t take another picture. The host took pictures of each one with an actual camera, not a phone like I did, so I might have a better pic up tomorrow with the teeth cut out. Tell me what you think, I may go and do it again but with more time and more accuracy (However, i’m no artist XD)
