This is absolutely doable!
I think it will take place next november in the upcoming “Mutilated” fractal patch 
They are planning on resetting our fractal levels to 10 because they will introduce a new leaderboard so it’s only fair if we all start on the same level 
Also they will remove levels 30+ because they will work on a better scaling system, but heh, new content! They will introduce a new system called Dodelidadoo that paint mobs with primary colors. Everytime you kill a colored mob you steal its color. Then you can mix and match colors for great great fun!! The BLTC will introduce new emotes (buy with gems) related to colors. Fun! Merry!
New exclusive content!! The tower of nightmares comes back as a new exclusive never-seen-before fractal level! With new exclusive rewards!! 
Talking about rewards, the loot tables have been adjusted to give more loot the higher up you go in the levels. True story.

I think someone was just mad that a community-made tournament in PvE has better rewards and more hype than anything that has ever been organised for WvW even by Anet 
This “tournament” is a joke, that’s why the teams just left. DnT organised, this crap to be more famous, because nobody cares about thier and the community records. You dont need skill to stand in the corner and use FGS or switch skills while running in stealth. The “competition”, or anything you call it, will be the random factor. I think the organizers of this tournament and the “speed clear” community, just wants more fame.
Dont blame the teams left, they just lost the fun factor, because there wont be any.
This tournament is just for this “speed clear” crew, boring kitten will flow from the streams!
But this is my opinion, have fun…
Let us tournament the way we want, scumbag averagist!!
Hm how to put it … This will not attract hardcore players but players who can use their impressive skills to farm and buy agony resistance on the tp !

Am I the only one who did not shake from seeing a post by Josh Davis in this thread? They never cared about us before, they still don’t.
I will devote my resources to make a great PvE tournament, but it won’t be thanks to Anet in any way. I will do this for the community, because the community deserves it.
The devs’ check is heavy loaded, a single post does nothing to unburden their responsibility in gw2’s PvE demise.
Last “content patch” was 6 months ago, it is knows as the “Fractured” patch. Just writing this word makes me shiver. It is synonym with abuse of power, lies, deception and content removal.
Next patch will be in six months, logically, and it will probably be named “Mutilated”.
After spending many hours on pvp and pve, where I did everything possible and got bored very fast, I tried WvW.
It’s terrible.
You spend hours simply getting into action, and what action! You have a choice between destroying doors, those don’t don’t really fight back, or go roaming. Roaming is fun, until you encounter the enemy bus at which point your are dead and you have to walk for hours again just to get to play the game.
So PvE is almost non-existent, WvW is terrible, PvP is kind of decent … that’s it?
I think Earth Embrace is better than Elemental Shielding. Also I prefer the signet to Ether Renewal.

Some time ago, when Sandy and I were brainstorming for the ascension project we came up with a cool idea that could fit your concept:
Have two guilds join into competition where they would both enter a dungeon at the same time with a team of their choice. Have both teams stream the whole process, use some clever streaming technology to “split screen” the event. Once both team are in the dungeon (restriced rules) and ready, a timer starts and a third party organiser announces a surprise restriction/challenge. Both teams get a set amount of time to think about how to overcome this constraint, after which they may start completing the dungeon. The first team to finish wins.
The idea is to promote both skillful play but also on-the-spot creativity (finding ways around the surprise challenge) while entertaining the community.
I’m pretty sure we could set this up! I think people from SC would be very happy to compete with my fellow rT guildmates, and needless to say this would be a tough competition
The only issue is with the streaming technology. I have some friends that could help with that though, so things may go very smoothly.

Yeah in theory you could be right but in practise we all know that Nike is doing a really good job at organising this tournament and quitting for no valid reason is a serious lack of respect not only for him but also for the other teams that could not take part in it!
Best PvE advice for you: read the guides at stickied at the top of this forum 
Read DEKeyz’ guide first, then if you want some philosophical insight on D/F you can read my guide, but avoid the thread called “The Ele Meta” at all costs!

The thing is I have read Guang’s thread and his posts on the DnT forum. I am well aware of all his theory and I could summarise it here for you, objectively. I would have to differentiate between two things though: there is the build/rotation he advises for casual running, and the speedrun part. I think we should disregard anything not related to speedruns because it is really a matter of environment. So alright, let’s assume he would go for scholars instead of travelers runes, full zerker instead of giver’s, and proper sigils.
Of course, I am going to assume he would go for Explosive powder (+10% dmg on explosions) rather than Short fuse (-20% cd on grenades).
Here is Guang ideal burst rotation:
BOB: 603 + 200
Fire Bomb: 286
Grenade Barrage: 1025 + 200
Throw Mine: 334
Mine Field: 1249 + 200 + 200
Jump Shot: 1044
Blunderbuss: 618
Shrapnel Grenade: 591
Freeze Grenade: 538
The numbers are unscaled lvl 80 damage figures, according to him, and the +200 represent Static Discharge procs. All figures come from Guang.
Then he proceeds to apply a scaling of his own to provide a dps figure for a speedrun situation: “an effective direct DPS of 16634 with all possible buffs, for 7 seconds, after which it drops down to a more reasonable 11609 for all cooldowns averaged over an indefinite period, plus by that time you should have a good 10 or so bleeds minimum for an extra 800 or so DPS.”
In comparison, Guang proposes his numbers for the scaled burst of a warrior: 14127 DPS
Right, so this is Guang’s theory. I could be right, it could be wrong, but let’s not get into that just yet.
His theory is all about damage. From this offensive potential he concludes that engis must be valuable for speedruns.
The response that rT is trying to express, is that speedruns are not all about damage. In fact, even if I used my own findings about the engi to boost its damage higher than what Guang could come up with, it would not matter. Dub has stated it clearly: what ever the damage the engi can provide, it is a burden to the team by all practical means.
So now we can certainly discuss the damage potential of the engi, and I intend to do so, with more accurate data than what Guang uses. I dislike “kitchen theorycrafting”. If we are going to evluate this properly then we need coefficients, mechanics, cast times, and feasibility frontier. I could work on this, maybe Keyz would be interested too.
In the meantime, my opinion is that practical experience beats “kitchen theorycrafting”. If the engi ever becomes useful in speedruns it will not be thanks to the rough calculations Guang came up with. Because let’s face it, this is nothing revolutionary. What beats records is clever tactics.

I would also use “shameful” to describe the words of those same people who are talking about her with a lot of disrespect behind closed doors, at this very moment. The same people who viciously rejoice about her departure saying they “desperately want people like her to leave the community” should be the one leaving. You know exactly who I am talking about. The same people who say that if they were to leave they would do it in silence; to those people I say please do a farewell thread instead! We would be more than happy to see it

I play the usual D/D ele in pvp, getting close to top tier, and well I am getting really annoyed by something:
The Tropical Bird’s attacks (rune of the pirate) deal more damage than a Fire Grab on burning targets.
And that is, when Fire Grab connects, which is close to never.

I was thinking, since the devs are reluctant to release any kind of meaningful PvE content, what ever the reason, maybe it would be sweet if the game was open for content modding like games such as Skyrim for example.
- The loot is irrelevant anyway
- The community is much more passionate about the game than who ever is developing it
- The framework is already in place with Fractals of the Mists
- It would make people stay on the game at virtually no costs for the studio and much more enjoyment for the players

I am already counting instabilities, look, I said “gear gating”.
Because let’s be serious, no one ever does the instabilities apart from x0’s and 49. And even still, people doing 49 only do so because they do not have the gear to do 50. So yeah, gear gating.
So nope, instabilities (= gear gating) is just a way to make it longer to reach content that was already there before the patch.
So instabilities = less content
