I hope you are trying not to keep up with fellow Guildies or Friends. I say play at your own pace when you have the spare time and your Friends and Guildies should be more than happy to lend a hand, advice or helping you in-game-wise.
That’s the way we do things in [AoL] and other guilds I am sure do the same.
In regards to mounts, I believe they were added because many players have requested mounts, which I view as an additional form of traveling in addition to current modes of travel we have in-game.
You can check out Army of Lightness at http://www.armyoflightness.com … We are a great bunch of players and help each other, not to mention conversations we have on TeamSpeak (We had to create a PG channel for some of our players children who play from time to time … we can be raunchy sometimes but boy is it fun and funny).
We have no secret expectations. Common Sense is all we ask for and I haven’t met anyone is [AoL] that I don’t like. Feel free to give us a try, We are a helpful bunch of crazies … You won’t find Vanilla (repetitive) aspects in Army Of Lightness.
With AoL, there are no Verbal Contracts on repping. Being a part of multiple guilds can be a benefit, which is why Anet allows us to join up to 5 guilds.
Hope to meet you soon,
I went along with Sylvari and I haven’t regretted it yet.
Certain aspects I’ve enjoyed and other aspects is what I left other games for but Anet seems to be doing more good than bad with their content releases and expansions.
I do think the grind is a bit much for casual players like myself but without some grind, players would play Guild Wars 2 when new content is released and complain about it. Look at the Legendaries released, while I can’t say I’m overly excited about them, there are people who have gone through the new content already and complain.
Not sure where the balance is. The is Anet’s job. Hopefully they can narrow the gap.
Updated not as often I think.
Good Idea, I like it.
Please send me another invite to join [TEEF].
When more players leave Guild Wars 2 and head for greener pastures, that will be the time Anet works on all the content they need to work on … Hoping to bring people back after mistakes are made.
Recently joined and enjoying myself. Great people in the guild even if we are Nearly Polite Cobras!
When issues like this happens, it’s best to go do something else online. Logging in and crashing whenever you try to zone will do nothing but make things worse for you (make you madder than you already are).
Same problem here … I’m stick in Brisban Wildlands and cannot switch to any zone (including guild halls) … Figure I’d wait a few hours and maybe try again later or tomorrow.
May I have an invite also?
That would be hard to determine since some thieves solo and others stick with guild groups, those that regular players may not know exist.
I cannot whisper anyone while in-game. The only way I can whisper a player is if that player whispers me first. Is this a bug or an isolated issue?
IGN: <Swindle Rogue>
Thief Type: <Scholar>
Server: <Tarnished Coast>
Experience with thief:
<I have played my thief since two months before the launch of HoT. I’m mainly a PvE’er right now but plan on doing some WvW in the near future so I could some lessons and advice on that front. Currently, I am equiped with some of the best PvE gear out there but it does nothing in helping me survive in WvW and PvP.>
The more players ask for nerfs, Anet will nerf the classes in question. Oh yeah, to make things even, they’ll nerf the remaining characters so no-one goes un-nerfed. If you think some of your characters are squishy now, just wait.
I created http://www.guildwars2.info that lists Tarnished Coast guilds (obviously not all of them but the ones I am either a member of or have seen active recently). Most people I ask about their guild either go unanswered or some have overly strict conditions for membership. I wanted the list I have to offer variety.
Anyone Leader of a Tarnished Coast guild can always let me know and I’ll list them on the website and a link to their Website and/or FaceBook Page.
I’ve been running my D/D Thief and he does fine in open areas.
A few issues arise when you are in a confined space or when you are taking on bossses (I die alot of bosses) but that’s seems to be the mold for “rogue” type builds.
This explains why my Thief isn’t doing the amount of damage he use to.
Swindle Rogue pets!!! (j/k)
Seriously, I’d like to see the Golden Wings back up for sale.
I’ll likely give a Staff Thief a go … I’ve thought about it for awhile but haven’t taken the plunge on it yet.
I felt powerful in earlier levels before I reached my 80th level but since that time, I don’t feel powerful (and I’ve tried multiple builds and have used multiple methods of gameplay). Don’t get me wrong, I love my thief – mainly due to the concept of a thief, but I don’t feel powerful … I feel average.
It’s a great game. Welcome to the community.
I’m all for some type of experience conversion so it doesn’t feel like a waste.
My FPS seem to be down as well, not drastically but down nonetheless.
Unless I’m in Window FullScreen mode, I cannot access the Treasury in all three guild I am a member of.

Yeah, some guildies do not have this issue and some did … I was in the some did category.
I believe I may have found a fix:
I logged into my account and went into my first listed guildhall.. I talked to the Treasury NPC at the zone-in and got the same blank screen I’ve been receiving. I then went into my options and set Guild Wars 2 to Window Mode. I tried to talk to the Treasury a second time and still received the blank screen,
I fully exited Guild Wars 2 and clicked on the Guild Wars 2 icon (launcher/patcher) to log into the game (hoping this would resolve the issue). Upon logging in, I clicked Guildhall in the Guildhall menu to enter the guildhall. I talked the the Treasury NPC again and still no change. With the Treasury screen still up, I went into options and put my setting back to the original full screen setting … And the Treasury screen loaded (slightly slowly but no more than 5-10 seconds).
Since I performed that action, I had no more issues with the Treasury NPC and I can que crafting decorations as if the issue had never happened.

Edit: I must remain in Window Fullscreen for my menu to work (just found this out a few minutes ago). Upon going to my normal settings, the screen would not load.

For the 3 guilds I represent, I have this issue in all 3 guilds.
I will purchase the upcoming expansion but I’m not sure on the pre-order. I spent $100.00 on HoT and temporarily enjoy the features it included, such as Gliding. When it came to the grinding, I became somewhat disappointed.
A Pre-Purchase will all depend on what content is included with the expansion at release … not on promised content that will follow that will be part of the expansion.
No reason not to uncap Magic Find in my honest opinion.
No deletions yet … I have a few level 80’s I haven’t equipped and used yet but I plan to eventually … Just have to decide which one(s) I want to play next.
I’ve seen a decent number of RP Guilds (such as on the TC server though we have cross-servers). There are also guilds that dabble in everything Guild Wars 2 has to offer, from PvE, Missions, and Roleplaying, as well.
I can see where Scribing would be expensive … Making an elaborate Guildhall should take time, not two days and you got a palace fit for a king. However, the leveling and creation of Scribing items falls on any individual player that chooses that professions. Perhaps something can be done about that.
I’m all for content being added … though last night, I had my rear handed to me on a paper plate. :p
In time, content is tweaked so I’m not concerned if I am interested in content added now because at some point, that content will be tweaked.
I have the same issues with all crafting-type screen and I cannot que the supply line, as well.
Good to hear the sites getting page views. Alot of sites fail but your dedication for the site is nice to see.
It looks like I’ll be trying a few new weapons tonight.
Thought this may be a bug, glad to know it is. I Hope it’s fixed soon.
Although I agree they are pricey, I now have two slots and they are convenient. My only gripe is a feature of this slot feature. All my bags are now closed when opening my inventory. Is there a way to keep the bags open permaneantly until, as an example, an option is unchecked or I missed something somewhere.

As much as I’d like to have some names I have used in past games, I don’t think an inactive person (who may become active at some point in the future) would be happy returning to Guild Wars 2 and find his characters are generically renamed to a default with letters and numbers. I’d be disappointed if that were to happen to me if I left and returned.
Agreed. I’ve been working on trying to get a few Mastery Points (that gray bar seems like such a waste) and don’t feel any closer than before I started. It doesn’t seem casual friendly, which is the type of player I am.
I’m Waiting For The Ability To Purchase The Basic Furniture Items … I Can’t Work On My Scribe Until That Happens, Hopefully Soon.
I’m Anxious To Get My Scribe TradeSkill … Currently, It’s Locked (The Basic Items) And I’m Not Exactly Where To Go From There.
There Are Options Out There, Some Guilds May Like The Idea & Others Will Not Like The Idea.
There Is No Shame In Asking Larger Guilds For Help … Many Large Guilds Are Filled With Members Who Are Willing To Help Other Guilds Out.
1) Small Guilds May “Borrow” Players From Large Guilds (Using The Multi-Guild Membership Utility). Along With Being Members In Multiple Guilds For Chatting, This Is An Extra Utility ALL Guilds Possess. Whether They Choose To Use This Feature Is For The Players In Small To Medium Guilds To Decide.
2) Small Guilds Can Negotiate With Large Guilds On Forming A GuildHall Membership, Where The Players Of The Small Guild Would “Share” A Large Guilds Tag, Which Will Allow Them To Use Guild Ammenities They May Otherwise Not Be Able To Afford. Of Course, This Would Not Be A Guild Merger, By Any Means. The Players Of The Smaller Guild Can Switch Tags To Use Various Guild Ammenities … Switching Back To Their Original Guild Tag Once The Player(s) Have Accomplished What They Wanted To Accomplish.
The Caveat – Some Players May Leave The Small/Medium Guilds In Favor Of Joining The Larger Guild. This Is Something That No-One Can Control Except For The Individual Players Who May Participate In This Type Of Arrangement.
The Guild Wars 2 Expansion Was Pretty Hefty On The Expensive Side When It Comes To Expansions (Add-Ons) But It Is A Choice Which Some Players Made.
I Chose To Purchase The Expansion & Was Somewhat Disappointed With Some Aspects That May Have Been Added, Changed, Or Removed … So I Can’t Blame Anet On That One.
