It’s everything, its excitement. I mean, the ingame music isn’t even frequent anymore. You may think these are trivial matters but done right, a supposedly bad movie and can made good with perfectly timed music interval, que kitten by Matthew Vaughn (SP).
The ingame music for wvw when you first go in, is lame as hell! Why not just have non stop upbeat great WvW Gw2 music, it doesn’t make sense to me. It’s the whole experience. Did Jereme Soule limit which songs can be played due to budgetary concerns?
It’s the whole experience, Anet stuff needs to play their own game and submit that experience to their managers, otherwise there will be alot of polls showing throwaway interaction which some seem to crave. We all have feelings use it to create great games.
Wow…..
Congrats, this is quite possibly the worst idea I’ve seen posted so far this year.
Which part? The siege tower part? The glider part?
Ok, by logic then, I don’t like boring things, and since you prefer stale, you couldn’t help yourself could ya?
This is what you guys are like, this is a topic, for you to add, saying rubbish like that doesn’t earn you any superiority, would you like it WvW to remain stale as it is? Be my guest.
This is a minecraft video of a Medieval siege tower. The idea would as if flying into the bandit camp in wing 2 but in WvW. Truly keeping defending opponents (too OP, as most are complaining) on their toes due to it’s randomness.
Plus people won’t want ugly gliders would they? Business side sorted.
It’s not hard to understand. Who did they asked to leave recently that could be considered the co founder? or Resigned rather. Who knows? But clearly there was a bit of power struggle in the company that is why there are polls now so the community can “decide”.
Think about it, starts right at home, if you have a sibling and a decision is needed. It goes all the way to the top, except we fancy it up. Don’t believe me? Think about everything that you ever wanted but can’t because of monetary issues, just remember, everything comes from the ground. Think about that.
I mentioned in my previous post about various issues within the game. For WvW, your commanders are crucial in the long run of the game. It would be a decent thing to consider sponsoring a few commanders on their native servers whether be it support on Youtube video streaming during future tournaments etc. Good commanders attract large crowds long term and if they quit, you will notice a huge reduction in numbers specially zerglings.
We have seen servers risen, fallen, transferred since 2012. Population increase decrease, classes OP, all the rest. Anet themselves claimed population permanently dipped after every tournament ends.
This current WvW model isn’t effective for keeping the losing side coming back, and that is one of the most difficult MMO decisions that has to be made. How to keep the losing side fighting, when one cannot reward the losing side for losing.
Guild Wars 2 has a treasure trove of lore, three warring servers that are now linked with other servers. We must keep in mind that beneath all this Arena Net needs to make money, the loot bags we get from players don’t pay their internet bills that take our incessant 11111 in lagged out fights.
I personally believe it’s not a lore breaker if we are able to ask for help from the Gods, after all nothing in WvW done affects PVE currently. Say two days after resets (since resets are always busy) We can invoke the power of the Gods by buying their services (I have never played EVE online, but I believe to have an advantage over the opponent you have to spend real life money, look at where they are today).
Imagine this scenario, the server that has the lowest score are able to invoke the services of Enchanted Armors found in Auric Basin by buying services (maybe through Gold or Gems, whatever) from human gods in WvW. Enchanted Armors are low damage but have high CC capabilities specifically intended to disrupt blobs. They can only be activated say when a 50 man enemy blob is within the map or keep. Separating these blobs so that smaller groups at least have a chance so they won’t die from mass spam AOE. They would have to be significant enough to matter.
The winning server with the other server they are working with usually can only invoke services such as higher gold reward, or server wide Magic Find boost or whatever that offsets their expected cries with the side that has the armors. But nothing that can help them win in a blob fight.
The whole point is to:- Allow the smaller servers to have a fighting chance, keep players spending more so we can play more of our favourite game.
PS: Commanders are the heart and soul of a server, I like how Dragon Stand’s mid lane gives new players the feeling of fighting a zerg so they don’t freak out when they see a blob in WvW. If players have an option to see a commander’s AOE circle, say a warrior commander Earthshatter’s into a group of 10, his/her AOE circle that can be toggled on/off in the menu can be seen by all in his/her squad for say like 3- secs and then it disappears can really help a commander alot.
The thing is, what I am trying to stress at, is, we didn’t design WvW. Anet did. We enjoy this side of their business. Now they are trying to kill their own product because there is no gem flow.
The fact that they couldn’t incentivised themselves gem wise through WvW is Anet’s own fault. I don’t care how they do it, if it can minimise the feeling of Pay 2 win (because everything really is pay 2 win in life, petrol, food what have ya) while WvW, I’ve got gems.
I can’t think of any other reason why a company would sabotage it’s own product.
I mean we love WvW, that is why we play it. Anet made the product, not us, it is ok for us to just play WvW and neglect other aspect of PVE. There is still a sense of pride isn’t there?
what is this kitten business, wth
I was just in game, and an idea came across. When there is uneven ground, combine the code of normal earthshaker, plus the code when it (lands) when it does in mid air, till the code that allows us to fall “through” landing on the floor on the intended target within range. Accelerate it with the new Quickening boon, not getting the boon visually, just enough as if it was enough for the skill to work in the first place, then end it before any skill can be used straight after.
I don’t know how to project my idea across without sounding like a smart kitten .
Dear Mr and Ms/Mrs GW2 designers. This is an age old problem. Almost like watching a Michael Bay film now, please can we fix it.
The current skill when executed, jumps your character into the air, does a very good Lebron James Aka King James impersonation, and slams his hammer into the ground. (Maybe can sell a basketball ball weapon in the shop, could get alot of warriors back into the game that way, vanity sells).
However, when slammed over uneven surfaces, it messes up, typically destinated at a lower landing. It does no damage and does no stun. Have you shot an air ball before? That’s what it feels like, like watching Transformers 4.
I don’t understand how it is so difficult to get the code from making warrior land here and stun enemy code, accelerate that when there is uneven ground, and slam into ground faster as if it was levelled ground? Sure that would feel awkward at first, but later it would actually feel powerful (when it really isn’t, all it is just a sped up of the animation of earthshaker and the falling animation there after on uneven ground) doing what the skill does, dps according to the skill info and stunning enemy based on adrenaline level.
This should save some animation cost. I’d be happy with it. Instead of it not working.
I like your in game music quite much, as it was done by a rather talented composer. I also like your game mode WvW.
However, could you please rotate the music list in WvW? That is where I spent most of my time when playing GW2.
Put something in the shop where you can buy a bag boy, like shield boys back in the days where they bear shields for warriors.
As we roll over zergs, our bag boy (or girl, if you so choose) picks up our loot and goes in our inventory while they can have maybe 20 bag space on them if ours gets full. I will buy it for 800 gems or more.
Anet can add a giant pulsating halo on top of the warrior for all I care. As long as it is instant or at least castable at 1/4 of a second as advertised when it’s zerg vs zerg.
The thing is, even if you wanted to play smart you can’t. Sometimes when the heal does go off, if I can’t reach a group reset I can walk into a meteor shower or more where Ele’s bombed with the heal activated, dodge roll out and come out full health. Sometimes when doing this results in death rather than smart play under heavy lag.
Either it is instant so there is no room for lag to counterplay me, or make it castable at 1/4 sec as advertised.
(edited by Dealarr.4925)
No, it’s a 1/4 of a sec, its the lag in big ZvZ fights that kills the gameplay. What other guy? Defiant stance is meant for big fights, not 1v1’s. Who in the right mind would choose DS over healing signet in a 1v1?
But then again noticing your signature, it’s pointless to present logical statements to you since you must have never experimented with the heals otherwise you won’t have posted what you have posted.
Defiant stance needs to be instant cast. Too many times have I died when the heal should go off in a zerg fight due to lag.
It is not fair when the anticipation and timing was right in timing the critical moment in activating the stance, and the next thing you know is the bum on the floor downed state.
Yes, I always activate stability(Dolyak signet) before the heal. In a GVG fight it works perfect, less lag for it not to work. Make it instant.
Every so often I would switch on the in game music to hear what the developers intends for us to enjoy. However I must say that the music rotation for WvW maps are quite lackluster.
You have a good rotation of in-combat music in PVE/sPVP, can we have more rotations please in WvW?
Anet run out of budget when they released GW2, either that or their investors turned up the pressure to release the game hence the Zhaitan fight was obviously rushed and therewas no time to design end game. Convenient excuses like levelling up was the end game, I like propaganda and sugar coated advertising sometimes but seriously, there is no honor in saying we designed the game for the players and then make us play it the way they want us to play.
