grab the merciless hammer and the desperate power traits.
instant 45% increased damage on your burst skill when counter attacking thieves. on the warrior when you use an attack that has a bonus when they suffer a certain condition (weakness, stun) if the attack gives that condition then the bonus will proc before the condition does.
so 10 points into arms with the unsuspecting foe trait will allow your earthshaker to have an additional 50% crit chance. same thing holds true for shield bash and skull crack.
this setup using similar gear has allowed me to two shot thieves in WvW.
^^This, I run that same build using a mix of Zerk/PTV gear with Zerk/Cavalier trinkets and it works great. Probably won’t find a better hammer build. I find that sword/shield or Long bow work well for second weapon set in WvW.

btw there will be a nice idea realod after unload,just add some bleeds from unload and nerf it with a 1 sec of daze xD
Sword main hand is our best melee PvE option, hands down. If you’re built for it, S/P can be a good support weapon. Otherwise, S/D can keep you alive while still dealing good damage. Flanking Strike is unreliable in PvP, but in PvE, it’s a hard hitting dodge ability with no cool down.
Before the recent nerf, S/D was also considered to be one of our best duelist builds, since it could keep the enemy daze-locked if done perfectly, while providing utility.
Thinking Infiltrator’s Strike is bad is just silly, though. It’s quite possibly one of the best skills in the game, and it has no cooldown to boot. I don’t think it even matters for the Break Stun to work (it seems to work on knockdowns, but nothing else for me). It’s still a 5 initiative cost, 600 range distance closer that can also be used as a 1200 range return back to where you used it. It also removes a condition upon return.
I mean seriously, if anyone thinks it’s bad, all I can really think is that you are. It’s like a mini Shadowstep, which is our best utility skill.
I actually just laugh at DPS thieves in PvE whenever they use D/D. All they can do is help on one enemy. That’s more of a hindrance than anything. I’d much rather have someone in my party who can deal AoE damage and actually contribute more than just DPS. Sword – with either Pistol or Dagger offhand – can contribute this with DPS.
You guys are comparing PvP for weapon combinations. Fact of the matter is some will be better in PvP than in PvE, and that is definitely the case with Dagger and Sword.

OMG Wowzers, I just got a 50,000 backstab on a noob, nerf backstab!
I got a 100,000 backstab the other night.
i’ve seen it really,15 stack of might,20%more damage under 50% enemy hp and the dredge boss at fractals with 2 or 3 cauldron on hit,come to mammy baby xD
I thought it was really fun, but the reinforcement waves were too long.
for me too,i would like more brain challenges,but with tons of people it’s difficult maybe,anyway great job Anet =)
blind is a great condition guys xD
the guys on the video play very well and have good coordination,i dubt i can do the same because it’s a fact that 2 players with same build,weapons etc aren’t equal,it’s a fact in games and it’s fact in life.

one way to permastealth is use cloack and dagger than w8 stealth wear off,immediately recast cloak and dagger (revelation is applied only if u attack something IN stealth);u can permastealth yes but damage is very poor and have little advanteges,problem is burst of some builds,not the class.
i’m QQ a lot if they nerf my build because critics are from people who QQ about lose in PVP and they say “wtf it was too strong! better post on forum so i can win next time”,i hope Anet make clever changes,not repeat same mistakes like Blizzard with Diablo 3

leaping death blossom is awesome with 3+ mobs,good damage and evade most of incoming attacks,if u use healing signet too u gain lot of hp back (lot because u evade attacks)
I think this skill is really underrated
remove one condition every time u go in stealth it’s too overpowered to not pick it,awesome trait

it’s a right change,gw2 is a fast playstyle game and all have to according to this
i’d like to see retaliation instead,i use speed signet too,and that trait it’s so useless (for me)
nerf of backastab build it’s ok in comparison of other classes survivability,i like that they change signet and not skill itself,with this change they have reduced burst damage in general and open that signet to more ways of use,i’m a thief backstabber and i like this nerf,it’s right
i haven’t see any changes:my rotation with backstab it’s always the same,full sequence of autoattack—->cloack—->backstab,maybe they buff vital shot speed (i hope that xD)
signet of malice + high initiative regen + high healing power + unload = you’ll never have to press 6 again.
i carry my pistols exactly for that reason. if i get low on health and dagger storming, caltrops, and death blossom spamming don’t cut it (usually because there aren’t enough enemies around to make the area effect strong enough), i just move to range and start using unload.
this! plus they are fun to see and i like playstyle :P
Tier 3 of asura cultural weapons,in prewiew u can’t see but there is a permanent violet aura around them,like a sort of weapon made by energy,it’s nice to see

ok now post some hundred blades “hit combos” where u have to press one button and gg,learn to play and qq less
double frailty for pve and air/force for pvp
mmmh for random pve (world,events etc) maybe hidden killer is still better,cause mobs die pretty fast,anyway for dungeons exe indeed
i’ve choosed for hidden killer in pvp,i think it’s better 100% crit of backstab because u need to kill someone very fast;energy pool of players (except guardian maybe) is generally enough for take them to 50%-60% with a behinded-backstab.i’ve tried both and i feel better hidden killer (a personal opinion btw)
i’m founding double sigils of frailty very good with backstab build
How 2x reg?i take only 1,which traits are you using?

It’s lot of burst from backstab and enter fast in stealth to compensate low survivability
