Yep that has worked for me too when I had a crash of the OS, I could still access the drive after a reinstall of the OS to a new SSD (520GB) and just copied it across and it worked fine.

Error code 58:11:5:535 here in Australia but only got disconnected about 5 mins ago.

I have 2 sets each of heavy, medium and light Armour in ascended and I don’t think it cost me anywhere near those figures Ayrilana with all due respect – it all depends on how much mats you gather. I buy some and gather others. I also have about 15 – 20 weapons in ascended. I have Grand Artisan status as have been crafting for over 2 years.

My gripe is that ascended equipment is not treated like all other items up to exotic – you can’t sell them (only a few mats) , you can’t give them to your wife which she would like and she can’t give me all the mats I need to make her stuff but has to destroy them. Empyreal fragments still take time collect even with the drop rate in silver wastes. Drop rates of mats for other things seemed to have decreased in recent days.

Pricing on the TP bears no relationship to cost in most cases. There are some inconsistencies here and there.

I am going to have that tattooed on my forearm. LOL

I accidentally changed the screen resolution to higher than my screen will permit with the result that I get a black screen with the message ïnput not supported’.

I cannot access the graphics section because I cannot see anything to do so.

I have rebooted the computer with no change.

Is there a solution for this please?

I’ll just keep them for when they repeat everything if I play this game that long.

BTW I am quite happy with the ascended skins. My wife also plays this game and together we have spent a LOT of real money. I cannot even send her the stuff because this account bound business sucks.

BTW2 – if you look at the price of lengendarys – some one has to be buying gold off the gold sellers – it’s a wonder Anet cannot track people who have a sudden influx of wealth.

Having completed this today, I find myself in the unenviable position of having some 2600 festival tokens and a “Favour of the Festival”. Sweet F all.

To buy a useless and awful skin with the FotF, I have to spend at least 5 Gold as well – most being 10 Gold. They really are poor skins and can only be for some sort of “prestigious” reason of which I am not impressed.

As they are account bound, you can’t even sell them.

The only useful thing I can see to do with the tokens is to buy a few obsidian shards. The rest of it has no value to me.

It would be good if you could swap some of this crap for gems.

Transmutation Changes

Double-click Transmutation Crystals to convert them directly into Transmutation Charges.
Double-click Transmutation Stones to convert them into Transmutation Charges at a 3-to-1 ratio.

Did this and nothing happened – lost the crystals and stones – or I have no idea where they ended up. I just have the 5 transmutation Charges given out from the Gem Store.

Any advice please?

Because the Monthly only needs two tasks completed until the 15th, and the other two you completed do not count, until after the 15th. And after the 15th, they may not count, anyway, as the tasks may change.

The first time I found out about this was today when I completed the 4th monthly.

I reckon they better count after the 15th as I have done the work. I, like the first poster only became aware of it by looking at the first screen which shows only 2 of 4 completed whereas my achievement panel shows 4 completed.

I don’t know where Anet published this but I must have missed it – a global in game mail might have helped. I do read a lot of the pages they notify at the start before PLAY as I do not have auto play on for that very reason. Here’s me thinking and looking forward to a chest and 10 laurels after finally completing the 4th task. My wife seems to think we got something after doing two but if we did, I missed that also.

If you do Jormag and Shatterer (world bosses) twice a day with different chars – that’s probably all you’d be lucky enough to fit in, you should get around 80 dragonite a day. They are the common ones but folks do others eg Maw and SB only give about 3-4 each. I have one char with all ascended armour and 4 ascended weapons and another with 2 ascended weapons and 3 armour so far. It’s a lot of hard work. I make sure that I make all those mats that can be made only once a day every day. Also I sell a bit of damask and a few others and I reckon I have spent about a nett of 100g

I was referring to recipes in between what you can get from the Master Weapon Smith – I have those you mention but my wife picked up a level 27 Green today from TP for example so it must have been a looted one. I cannot make a level 27 anything.

I am a master crafter with 4 level 500s so been doing this a while.

One thing I can’t work out is how to add a rune to a piece of armour or sigil to a weapon without it becoming soulbound to me. I can’t do it by discovery as the sigils or runes never appear to be used.

I also think I have gaps in my recipes – have all recipes from Master Weaponsmith but there seems to be gaps at various levels as I see some “in between” items on the TP. I have picked up a few extras in my travels but not many.

Spent a lot of time on Wiki and Google but cannot find these answers – I mean quite a few hours. I have also read what I can about the mystic forge but find no answer there.

Any help would be appreciated please.

Gosh, I would buy them. I’ve used up 11,500 dragonite (46 stacks) so far making ascended weapons and trying to get more. Oh well. Back to Golem, Jormag and Shatterer and temples.

I don’t know what craft you are doing but there are sites around like http://www.gw2db.com/recipes/artificer which give you all recipes.

You can then see if you have the right materials to discover things at your level which does make the crafting level go up quicker. It give you an idea of what to collect as well.

I am a master crafter , have two level 500s and another at nearly 500 so I have had a bit of practice LOL.

Tried that 3 times – the 2nd line – got rubbish – no problem as I had heaps.

http://www.gw2state.com/boss.html is also useful – change for your server of course but it rings a bell too and has info about when temples are open so you can guest on another server which has Balthazar open for Obsidian shards for karma for example.
It does enable you to check which servers have those event coming up too.

However whatever you do the drop rate is still poor.

Frankly the drop rates for Dragonite ore (even from the big bosses) and the empyreal fragment rate from chests is my big gripe. I have 4 ascended weapons and it is a real drag. Also too many of these items including the ascended items are account bound.

Leatherworker: (I have a level 500 weaponsmith and a level 500 huntsman and have crafted 4 ascended weapons so far). Have level 400 in all other crafts.

Thank you for your response. My wife has only a level 400 Jeweler unfortunately so she will be unable to craft those things unless she starts from square one. As I said I hoped to make them for her.

Guesting to another server is a good idea – I will try that. I have done it once just to have a look.

Well I just confirmed my ignorance when I saw the post that crafted ascended weapons are account bound. My wife is dreadfully disappointed too. What a drag! I feel my oldtimers coming to the fore again. :-)

Well that answers my question sort of – I can’t make one for my wife anyway.

Why are so many of the materials for ascended weapons account bound?

This is probably the first topic I have posted here after playing the game for nearly a year so pardon me if I am ignorant. I have attained mastercrafter and have a level 500 huntsman with a weaponsmith on the way. I made my first ascended weapon today. I enjoy this aspect of the game but find it difficult from the basis of my question above.

My wife and I are in a guild of two (just us) and she has a lot of the mats to make ascended weapons but cannot give them to me so I can make her one. We are mature in age (not in mind thank goodness) (I am 63) and have been gaming a long time. We have put an amount of real cash into the game buying gems to do various things – I suppose $A300 by now.

We have not done any dungeons as we have never been able to get into a party so we are missing out on various things of course.

The dragonite ore is the hardest to collect as not many seem to play the big bosses where the drops are better. I seem to spend my days just farming , finding chests and doing small bosses. I use the Boss tracker but when I go to the area, rarely find anyone else.

I don’t expect it to be easy but why does it have to be this hard and tedious?

I am quite an old fella at 63 (but my Dad is older at nearly 93) and have been gaming for about 12 years or so – was a late developer LOL. I have played a lot of FPS (started on-line on BF1942) but also RPG and MMO. I am in a Clan (an Admin) and have been for most of that time.

My wife suggested I try GW2 as she has been playing since it came out and played GW before that.

I am glad that she suggested it as it is a great game and I am really enjoying it. We have a guild and we play together sometimes – she helps me but then she is younger than me and more skilled in gaming.

My observation is that I have never found in my on-line gaming experience, a nicer group of people/players. In group activities I have that players help each other in things like resurrecting if you go down. I am not the fastest in the world but find everyone helpful.

I just wanted to say this as it makes playing the game more of a pleasure than otherwise would be the case. I thus thank the GW2 community and commend them for their good spirit.

If one has negatives then we usually express them but the positives should also be mentioned.

Ah well, it seems you punish people for complaining – my wife put in a ticket after me but she has the game back.

The best choice seems EA so I will have to go back to BF3.

Frankly, If I do not the product or service I pay for, I get very angry.

Seems like most of their servers for all sorts of things are down.

That’s the problem with using 486 processors with 756kb of RAM.

BTW my wife a long term GW player has the same problem and we are a couple of oldies.

I have submitted a ticket but no answer – the game has not worked for 8 hours and you should have fixed the server issues in less than that time.

I have only just recently been able to log on to the forum server. I kept getting “don’t know me” errors.

I accept that there will sometimes be problems but I resent the fact that there is no information given.
