This seems to be happening with Twilight Arbor’s Nightmare Tree too. My party and I got disconnected as soon as we started fighting it, although I still had all the stuff I got during the dungeon up to that point. We tried again and the same thing happened the second time.

Human female elementalist

While standing in place with a weapon drawn and the Diviner Leggings and Council Ministry Shoes armor skins equipped, the character’s legs clip through the skirt of the leggings. Without any foot armor equipped, the clipping isn’t as bad, but the left leg still goes completely through the skirt when a one-handed weapon is drawn.

Equipped armor:
Beigarth’s Masque (hidden)
Stately Epaulets
Aurora Garb
Stately Gloves
Diviner Leggings
Council Ministry Shoes

All the skins but the head are transmuted onto Beigarth’s ascended armor pieces.

Things that make living world s2 achievements some of the worst content in the game:

  • Being unable to get them the first time through an instance.
  • Unskippable dialogue and cutscenes when replaying instances.
  • Mutually exclusive achievements that make you repeat instances even more times.
  • Blatant time wasters like Better Red Than Dead in the Hidden Arcana instance.

Okay, so I’m not getting connection errors anymore, but it’s downloading extremely slowly and frequently dropping to 0 KB/s. An hour later and it’s still not done.

AoE scatter like in GW1 would completely break the game. There are tons of builds that could keep enemies from ever attacking because they’d be constantly running from AoE.

What really needs to be improved as far as AI is concerned is how enemies regain line of sight. Ranged enemies should try to maintain range while getting LoS back, and melee enemies should have some variation in their pathing so they don’t all stack up on top of each other.

Another thing that would really help is not allowing players to clip through enemies, at least in instances.

This wouldn’t even be a problem if there weren’t such a high cost to refine these mats. The reagents and obsidian shards should be moved from the refinement to elsewhere in the crafting process.

Every time they’ve increased t6 drop rates, they’ve also introduced another sink for them, so I have little hope of prices going anywhere but up even if they do make further changes.

The knights’ 360 degree attack arc makes melee pointless except for keeping the knights in one place where they can get nuked consistently. You either have to spend so much time dodging and leaving melee range to avoid the hammer swings, or build your character tanky enough to soak them, that a zerker staff ele out-damages you with none of the risk.

I think I finally found a reliable way to do this. All the videos I’ve seen have you dodging both the stun and knockback part of Scarlet’s AoE, but the vast majority of the time, either the stun or the knockback would still hit me. So…

1) Run up to or teleport in front of Scarlet.
2) Hit her with an attack. This seems to stop her from using her second knockback while you’re trying to stomp.
3) Stand to the side of her, facing the wall. You want to position yourself so that you’ll end up in front of her after a backwards dodge.
4) Let the stun part of the AoE hit you and then mash the dodge key as soon as it does. You should dodge just in time to avoid the knockback.
5) Mash F while dodging so that you start the stomp as soon as you come out of it.

I’m pretty sure this is buggy. Sometimes the knockback part of her AoE hits me even when I’m dodging to the side, and sometimes even if it doesn’t, I randomly get knocked back about a second after starting the finisher.

I know, and I’m saying that because of the built-in delay being added together with your latency, it will make it seem like an even bigger difference. Going from a 500ms delay (assuming an even half second—I’ve not tried to measure it exactly) to an 800ms delay is huge when you’re trying to dodge attacks that only have about a second of telegraphing.

But that’s not really the point, anyway. The point is that if the shockwaves’ hitbox desync were only due to latency, then everything should exhibit roughly the same amount of desync, and yet that’s not the case.

That’s because the dodge animation happens about a half second before you actually start evading (and you keep evading for the same amount of time after the animation is finished), so your latency gets added on top of the built-in delay. Instant-activation skills don’t have that added delay.

And that’s basically the same issue with the shockwaves here; the timing of the animation doesn’t line up with the timing of the hitbox. I generally get somewhere in the range of 50-75ms ping, yet I have to jump far more in advance than that to avoid getting hit.

I’m pretty sure this stuff is not detected client-side. The animation probably isn’t offset so much as behind the real effect due to latency.

I doubt client-side latency plays that big a role in it, given that instant-activation skills can block attacks at the very last split second, and also given how many other enemy attack and environmental effect hitboxes in the game don’t line up with their graphics at all.

Just make it so that if two or more turret skills have been off cooldown for, say, 30 seconds, the person gets kicked off the turret.

This has been happening to me since long before the champ loot bags were added; some champs and legendaries just don’t drop anything for me sometimes, even though I was there for the whole fight, doing plenty of damage, got xp for the kill, and gold participation for the event. The fix they did a while back to make it easier to qualify for loot made it happen less, but didn’t get rid of it completely.

On the other hand, sometimes I’ll run in at the very end of the fight, only get a few hits in, get bronze event participation, yet still get loot from the champ. Qualifying for loot seems really inconsistent.

I wouldn’t be too surprised if the November 15 update that was supposed to increase the drop rate of precursors from the forge actually made it worse instead, considering other drop rate changes from that patch are broken. (Champions still not dropping loot, etc.) But there’s really no way to know, so if you’re going to use the forge, you might as well just do it.

4) I just started saving up to buy The Legend instead of gambling in the forge, but the price on the TP is rising at about the same rate I’m making gold.

Somewhere in the 200-250g range trying to get The Legend. I didn’t keep track too carefully because I knew that would only make the despair greater.

I really think the mystic forge is the worst thing ANet has ever done in either GW1 or GW2. For the several weeks I was dumping rares and exotics into it, playing the game was nothing but continual disappointment. Now, grinding out 500g+ to buy The Legend off the TP seems like a joy in comparison.

Making precursors require something other than massive amounts of gold is all well and good, but you can’t just remove a huge gold and item sink like they are now without upsetting other parts of the economy. That’s why any short term fix would need to keep that sink intact while only removing the complete reliance on RNG. Rebalancing things around a non-gold sink method of obtaining precursors would simply take too much work to implement quickly. And if ANet can’t implement it quickly and with minimal work, it’s pointless because they’re already working on a long term fix with the scavenger hunt.

I think a token system like that would be perfect even if it required throwing like 400 exotics into the forge or whatever. Because the real problem with getting a precursor isn’t that it’s expensive, it’s that getting unlucky actually sets you back from completing your legendary. With every other part of a legendary, getting unlucky with drops just means your rate of progress is slower, but you never actually make negative progress.

For example, say you’re trying to get clovers but getting unlucky; you’re still getting t6 mats and other stuff you can sell for progress towards the rest of Gift of Fortune. Or if you’re farming for lodestones and not getting any, you’re still getting money from other drops to go towards buying lodestones. But when you’re unlucky in getting a precursor from the forge, you lose money and get nothing in return, which means you’re farther away from being able to buy a precursor.

So do you have any points against my suggestion with actual reasoning behind them? Or are you just going to start another rant about not being able to prove manipulation? Because sure, if prices AREN’T being manipulated, then implementing my suggestion wouldn’t do any good. But if they ARE — and ANet should have the data to know for sure — what would be the downside to it?

You seem to be assuming that demand for precursors far outweighs the supply. Personally, after watching the market for the popular ones for a few months and seeing blatant signs of manipulation, I don’t think that’s so much the case. I’m pretty sure that without people being able to resell them, there’d be a lot more for sale from a lot more people, and that would keep prices lower than they are now.

What? How in the Hell would that make precursors more affordable if you knew it can only be sold once youd jack up the prices for it. Mmm i wish you thought about that before you posted.

And then everyone else would undercut you because they’d know not many people would be buying precursors and they wouldn’t want to pay a high listing fee just to have it sit unsold for months. And because they could only be sold once, people couldn’t buy up the lower priced ones to resell for profit. Thus, the price would fall until it reached what the people actually wanting to craft legendaries are willing to pay.

All they need to do is make it so precursors can be sold on the TP once and then they become account bound to the buyer. There’d be a lot more available and prices would be lower without a handful of people being able to monopolize the market.

As far as I can tell, this mostly happens when you take heavy damage while harvesting. As an ele with knight’s armor and cleric’s accessories (lots of toughness), it barely ever happens even when I have four risen beating on me. If I try that in my magic find armor, though, it’s much more common.

My main problem with waypoint costs is that there’s an absurdly high bottom limit to them. At level 80, using a WP right next to me costs only marginally less than one all the way across the zone. I assume this is so the cost of dying isn’t completely insignificant when you’re close to a WP, but it overly penalizes short distance travel. Keeping the minimum cost when you’re dead is fine, but it should scale much lower while you’re alive.
