DC in living story missions

in half the living story missions i played, the battle finishes and there is just a cutscene/talk left i get dc’d and offcourse since this is Living Story 2 i have to redo the mission fully again.

This does not only make me lose a lot of time (5 hours or so atm) but it’s tedious and boring aswell.

I have set open the ports on my firewall, i have tried to use -clientport 80 and -clientport 443 and i have tried effectively pushing buttons while talke/playing the cutscene so i’m certain it is not a DC from lack of activity.

I have no issues in wvw/open world pve so i do not believe this is on my end. I have seen this issue popup on the forums for over 3 years but i can not find a solution that helps me.

Does anyone have an idea what else there is to try?

tbh, it’s not worth it. I heard the rumours that they upped the rewards to 15 bags but we completed it on desolation last week and we got 2 rares from scarlet and then 5 bags, we lost out on about 25-35 bags on aetherfarm this way though.

Problem is that the gilded strongbox drops from rises aswellas the maw BUT they have a different icon, the risen strongbox have the standard yellow box icon. The one that frozen maw drops has a bag icon. And i have still nog heard from anyone that they had genesis drop from anything but frozen maw.

So if anyone had it drop elsewhere pls specify where pls.

it’s funny how people always complain about farming and people not doing events while they are the ones who never do the events themselves.
- Arah is never permanently closes, they changed that a long time ago because of buggy events.
- The event before the cauldrons (escort event) was ever hardly done just because it is hard to do and nobody bothered to do them, now that people start farming the event aswell as the cauldran the complaints start piling up (lets see who is selfish here)
- arenanet told us we can play the game the way we like the play, the farmers do nothing to stop you from doing arah (permanently open) and the farmers enjoy what they do, which is doing those events to get champs.

It’s about time that they stop looking at threads like this and nerfing everything just because some people think it’s against their way of playing, can we not just get along?

Would love to try it out as well since i been bored since all the cursed shore farms, the 2 week achievement grinds because of the living story has gotten me more bored then if i would of farmed cursed shore 24/7.

meteor shower effectiveness HALVED

reading the patch i thought they meant that they would no longer show the meteors not hitting a target. If you watch the second video you can see each meteor hits a target and it hits more targets then the first one.
What i find strange is that it seems the duration of the meteor shower was lowered causing it to have less meteors.

i would gladly take a little pet dmg if they would actually get the pets to hit the targets, the pets hardly hit a moving target in wvw 50%-75% of the times so they never do their full dmg.
If they want it cause they’re op in pvp, let them nerf it there instead of nerfing it everywhere once again.
+ their hp pool might of been increased but we still have the issue with aoe easily killing them.

1600+ rares and 50+ exotics and 0 colossus so far, while a guild got precursor bow in 150 rares and another guildie got 3 sparks in 500 rares.

first they made sure all risen drop all t6 mats = less t6 dust
then they upscaled/overbuffed all mobs/events and less mobs = less t6 dust
then they made sure that most the enemies that do come are considered summons (no drops from them) = less t6 dust
then they introduced southsun cove with free 200% mf buff and guess what doenst drop there, t6 dust = less t6 dust

RESULT: Not really a lot of dust left in the loottables

I think the problem is not only the things we can spend merrits on but the problem of having to few slots.
My guild already has all guild missions unlocked and so we do them twice a week, once sunday and once in the week so everyone can get their commendations.

The problem here is that we need to queue each guild mission twice a week *4 = 8 slots (did not include treks). Then we have the standard upgrades that we already want on such als gathering, magic find boost, xp boost and once a week the karma boost.

As you can see the number of upgrades we have to do is already to much with only 2 slots available (not counting asuran outsourcing since this is only usefull for very long boosts/upgrades) and this isnt even counting the merrit upgrades we could use. We aren’t even counting all the WvW upgrades that you could need.

So they have increased the amount of boosts/upgrades with almost 50% but havent even added an extra slot, the amount of influence you would have to spend to boost that would be way to high for a guild to maintain except maybe a very large guild.

After 1500 rares and 20+ exotics i have given up on getting my colossus. Would have never tried to use exotics since i dont lose that much money when using rares but i got frustrated still not getting one.

I know everything is rng but i think it’s just plain stupid when a guildie can get 4 precursors with the same amoun of rares that i have thrown in while doing absolutely nothing different.

And i will never pay for a precursor from the black trading post because it is usuall someone who got lucky in the mf or who is trying to sell precursors for profit, why would i want to give my money to those kind of people. Ah well, got enough different things to do in gw2 thankgod, guess ill stick with my one legendary where i bought the precursor for 55g in good old times.

farming grenth over and over again when you actually got 10-20+ rares a day so you could throw them in the mystic forge for fun. A lot has changed since the beginning of the game, im actually happy when an event is bugged out, so i can relive those days.

i log on and every event i want to do puts me in overflow, even a dragon who still is 30min away from the pre-event. Before it was a lagfest but people actually got something, now you have screwed over half the population by putting them in the overflow. And the reason you are doing this is because of purely a design flaw and you took the easy way out aggravating a lot of people with it.

You can imagine if it’s bad now, what it will be when the weekend comes and everyone will start flooding the forums with complaints. if you will not fix this and keep ignoring like you did with a lot of things, lootbug, class issues, … you’re gonne chase a lot of people away, once again.

Champions No Long Guaranteed Loot?

I’m one of the people complaining about loot since the 15th nov patch but i have been noticing the last couple of days doing events in orr. While doing a lot of dmg to mobs a lot of times i can see i get zero xp for the mob(s). And we know that if you do not get xp, you don’t get loot.

I dont know if this happens because some are considered summoned mobs (which means they wont give loot), that they dont register my dmg or that i really dont do enough dmg to them because they die to fast. This last part i will check by using other character to see if i have the same issues.

So it could well be that this has something to do with the problems aswell but i can confirm that veterans and champions hardly drop loot, even when getting xp or soloing them 90% of the time you get nothing.

It’s working as ANET intented, they do everything in stealthnerfs.

With the addition of the boxes it is now painfully obvious how low the droprate really is and that is counting the buggy chests who still give junk. They do not care, 2k+ posts with not even a single obvious answer even the chests are starting to have DR while they said that chests are not affected by DR.

We will never see the days again where we did grenth and got loads of rares and the brainwashing has already begun, i’m even starting to see posts about people who applaud the changes in Orr because they have gotten 1 Rare in an evening of playing, 1!! and they think this is normal.

They will be able to do this until people get fed up, only casualls will stay and within a year better alternatives will be out and this game will be gone. All because they think it’s better to put as much rules, restraints, DR, RNG on everything that only way you can actually make some money is to buy gems or farm the trading post which sometimes is borderline “Scamming” imo.

I wont bother posting here anymore, wont bother to bug report since as i said, it’s obvious this is the way arenanet wants it.

Does /stuck do anything?

i’m surprised how few people know that if you go to the the mists and you open the pvp window in the mists you can just go back to your original location. You are not forced to go through the lions arch portal.

Summoned mobs not dropping anything is pure bs, if it can kill it should drop loot. when barracuda’s suddenly summon 2 adds they can kill you a lot easier yet you no longer get extra rewards for it.
and once again it has been over a week since this topic started and not a single reaction yet.
Starting today im gonne send a bug report about it a couple of times each till they get fed up and either ban me or fix it.

Since we are doing our best to update you with data about drops (which you should be able to get yourself tbh), will we be updated aswell about the situation.

Already more then a month since the first post about this issue and 4 days since this thread has been made, we should be updated atleast each day/2 days.

I hope you do realize that this is a huge issue that has caused many players to leave the game or put it on halt.

Grenth before nov 15th : more then full bags that i even had to salvage cause my bags are full. Atleast a couple of rares (4-8).
Grenth after nov 15th: bags 3/4-4/5 full, no need to salvage. get 1, if im every lucky 2 rares

You got a 25+ page thread with all the details you need, don’t insult our intelligence by saying you havent done/noticed anything

i haven’t seen this detailed in any of the patchnotes, these are things that we, us players, need to know aswell.

it’s just once again sad that we now have to go back to get 2 t6 materials like armored scales every hour again considering this is a so called non grinding game.

As i do every couple of days i kill barracuda’s to get my armored scales for my legendary.

I started today and killed a bunch, hardly getting drops, thought to myself that it was np since i prolly had a bad streak. But when i observed more closely after an hour of killing them i noticed none of the adds drop loot.

Is this intended that the adds drop nothing anymore or is this a new bug since today?

I did see bots farming there the last couple of weeks and reported them every day but if this is another stealthnerf to get back to bots you are hurting the normal players once again, such as with every nerf.

Hope i can get some answer about this and this doesnt wind up as the other loot related bugs that has stayed unanswered since 1month+ with 250+ posts

still no answer, guess they are just waiting till this thread is dead. Guess nobody is supposed to get a legendary or decent armor anymore.
If this is the direction they are gonne take i guess ill go look for an alternative since playing now wields no reward anymore, 45 hour of cursed shore i gotten 151 porous bones and 10 greens, loot of whites and couple of blues, not worth it anymore.

We have seen the response of the moderator in the main thread. they responded immediatly when 2-3 people saw an increase in rare drops but wouldnt even bother to respond the 8 page thread.
When they did finally answer the thread they said they were looking into it if it wanst bad luck, how stupid can it become.
It has become more and more clear that any form of farming of way to make loot will be nerfed to the ground and the loot chance will never change to make sure you buy gems.

wow, just wow. Anet can hotfix the goldfarm from arah 15min after someone whines on the forum because he can’t find a group but when 200+ people complain about loot drops being bugged for over a week we get zero response.
Shows where anets priority are it seems.

As i said in the other post aswell. When we had the dye droprate bug, which was benefecial for us, it was fixed in 2-3 days with a hotfix. This bug has been reported 7 days ago, with threads even being merged yet we still havent heard an official comment about.
It’s hurting the normal players as well as the economy, this is one of the reasons rare’s and ecto’s are so expensive

Indeed, this should be fixed instantly. This is one of the reasons the ecto prices has gone up aswell. With the Dye drop issue they saw it immediatly and fixed it within a day of two. Strange that when its not in our favor there still hasnt been a hotfix

If the patch tomrrow doesnt fix this, ill start a new thread in the bug forum. Just did grenth event and got nothing once again and i before i did grenth i was on another character in a different zone so it couldnt be DR.

have played the whole weekend with my 80 guardian (0% mf) and my elementalist (full exotic mf) and dit a grenth run with each. i havent noticed a single difference between them. I got a bit less loot with my guardian since he tags a lot less then my elementalist but in general the drops were as crappy.
As most people farming in ore atleast got me a couple of rares in an hour. The thing i did get this weekend was an exotic from the chest of grenth.

Yeah, hope this is a bug and is fixed as fast as possible. I can understand that it can’t be fixed instant because of us holiday/thanksgiving but don’t forget how fast the Dye bug was fixed when it was in our favor :p

We just need more people posting this issue. A lot of the people havent even noticed because they have been playing FOTM where the droprate for rare/exotic seems to be increased.
Once people head back to doing events like grenth in cursed shore they will see that the rare loot and even the loot in general has gotten a lot worse.
Also i have noticed that the mf doesnt quite work as intented anymore (but this is hard to proof).
Aslong as we keep this post up the devs will either have to answer it or they will shut it/delete but we will both have our answer if its intented or not.

Same, trying to go for my legendary but with the crappy rare drops i can’t get ecto’s so i have to buy ecto’s which cost money so i need to farm but i hardly get loot, ….
Vicious circle if you ask me. All was fine with the drops before the patch, still a grind but doable now it just plain sucks

There is defenitaly something wrong since the the lost shores update. I always farm in cursed shore but since that update i have hardly getting any rares at all. Hopefully this is just a bug because if they have purposely changed something in the loot table to give less chance for loot they did not indicate that in their patch notes.
Commenting here to make sure a Dev reads this and give us an explenation since their have already been new patches where this problem has not been fixed yet.
The only vital way to actually get rares now is the fractals. I don’t want to be forced there just to get decent loot.

It happens sometimes when us elementalist use mist form and rally, the mist form stays till fully worn off and we can just walk away, this happens a lot to me while doing grenth, going down, do mist form, can keep going because i rallied on a amob.
