Legendary crafting the new weapons (HoT) requires New Gifts, i.e. Gift of Blood, 100 Powerful, 250 Potent, 50 Think, and 50 Blood.

Now while these recipes require two gifts, I have two questions:

1: Do you like this?
2: Do you think down the road it should be transferred to all legendary crafting?

Just out of curiosity, what is the best stance to use for Staff? and the best stance for Mace?

Any tips, hints, tricks, whatever to guarantee torch kills? I have run on a few classes who use torch, over a three year period.

8, the total number of torch kills. I think it is partly the fact of Auto-Attack with the main hand, but I could be wrong!

My only complaint I have after reading about the Legendary Armor, is that fact that it requires everything be done in HoT. I do not do HoT, but I am seriously going to be forced to do it to get something that should able to be done in all of Tyria?

I have a guild of 400 people, fairly active, 27 some people only, really do HoT.

Can we make Legendary Armor somehow available to those who don’t enjoy HoT???

Okay so this is not a complaint. This is a post I am making based on complaints. All I am looking for is opinions.

A fairly large base of players are complaining that the new Legendary Crafting Mastery, is nothing more then a money sink.

Here’s what I think. I have sunk about 100 gold total in crafting Howler. I still haven’t finished it, but oh well, I will when time the time comes that either A. I have the proper mats to craft the proper mats, or B. The gold.

I never thought it was a money sink. I needed 10 Elonian Leather square, which right now are 116 gold for 10. But I don’t look at this as a money sink, because I can’t afford them, I don’t buy them. Instead I wait, I farm materials that need to go into them, I kill things through out the world that I know drop what I need.

I don’t believe they are money sinks, and I firmly believe that people who think it is, are just too impatient to actually ride it out.

What do you all think? Money Sink or Not?

P.S. Also taking any tips on crafting, should you care to share.

From I remember, there is nothing for three points, however, those three points should at least grant you access to the HoM. But your first reward comes after you place your first item (mini,weapon,armor etc..etc..)

The first 3 points are shoes, pants and chest piece for each armor weight.

Honestly the only thing I agree with in this post is the Camera part. In GW1 the leaves became semi transparent. That would be helpful things such as finding the edge of a cliff without plummeting to your death. Or gliding down and having to run all the way back up because no matter how much you rotated the camera you could see past a dang bush!!

As for Griffinrook, I am really bad, I mean really really bad, at JPs but I loved Griffinrook, even when if it was a bit of a pain to find.

This has been how things are well before HoT. Typically those that are dead should WP.

If that is the mentality, then what is the point of the Ress system? As well as some of the events are to far from the WP to get back in time

I’ve always been partial to the 1 clover recipe. I figured I need the Clovers, and I need the T6 Mats, so I always went one Clover. It may seem to take awhile, and it does, but you watch your T6 Building up quick, and if you have any plans to build a second legendary, Why stop at 77? I went to 152, In that I then had the clovers need, and almost a quite a few T6 mats needed for the second weapon.

I have a very Love/Hate relationship with HoT:

The Cons:

1. I own my own business, so sometimes I can not log into the game until 2 or 3 in the morning. Now I am not complaining on a scale of WTH?!? But I do say that some of the Content is a bit to hard when it comes to having to solo it because no one is around to help. It seems the scaling system seems a bit a lacking.
When you are running Solo, the missions are supposed to be a bit easier, the more players arrive, the harder the encounter. I did the first couple of Stories solo, but when I got to one point (I believe the Axe or Staff master) in VB, it was nearly impossible to solo. It also seemed, and I could be imagining things, that that particular battle was scaled for multiple players because you had NPC help. So one of two things may have to happen to change that a little. Either A. Buff the NPCs when running solo in the story, or B. Scale it back a little.

2. Gated Progress (I define this in several ways) has become a thing of annoyance. While I am happy to work and achieve my mastery points, having some events hidden behind other events and or instances is relatively annoying. One of the things that gets me most is having to progress in a certain mastery to continue the story.
While some people don’t think it is a big deal, it kind of is. When I play a game, I want to be somewhat free to play. The amount of XP need toward completing a Tract for a Mastery is a bit much. "To Continue The Story, Please Get “X” Mastery". So there I am working solely on Gliding, because that seemed to be the thing needed most, and then all of a sudden I get to a point in the story where I need to Master Language? So I can’t continue the story until I get a certain amount of XP. Which brings me to 3.

3. Again not really to peeved about the hardness of HoT as much as I am sort of against if you have to Solo it. Getting to certain events is kind of a pain. So there are players on the map, but they are all at the event already and you still have to run there. Not a problem!! Except for, when 9 times in one week, while on the way to an event, an event popped up and as usual, not solo easy, actually solo impossible. Again Scaling. The reason I think getting to events is a Con, is because Events give you the XP to kick your story and character to the next level.

4. Event Trolling!!!! The Worst thing to happen in this game, in HoT and in I think certain aspects Central Tyria. Event Trolling. No one wants to fail an event. Failing events gives you nothing! Or should I say Gave you nothing. Now for certain parts of Collections, and other various reasons, You have to have events Fail to get items!! Problem is, people know this, and some people, will not let it fail, not because they don’t want to fail, but because they know it has to fail for people to receive items, and they think it is fun to screw it up for the people who need it. Don’t Believe me? Go to one of those events that needs to fail, and just watch map/local chat.

5. When HoT was released, they seemingly took away quite a bit from the Core game. Dungeons have been Nerfed (drops anyway), and as someone has said above, “Players Like to be on Top of The Game”. That being said, the only way now to be on Top of the Game is Mastery Points and Tracts. It is hard to do Meta Events in Central Tyria because they actually nerfed a few as far as drops.
Example: By myself, at Three in the morning, I was running through I believe Lonars Pass? I came across a Champion Ice Worm. It was Labeled a [Group Event] I’m too Daring, so I took it on, After twenty minute battle, I actually defeated, Alone! I walked up to the Chest! Three Blues, One Green, no Wiggly chest, 11,250 Exp. By myself, and they couldn’t have dropped one Rare or Exotic? I got better loot off the thing before, and there were other people fighting it!! Same thing goes for the world bosses, Dungeon Chests, JP Chests. It seems like if you want a decent drop, you have to do HoT.

Pros:

1. Gliding is a blast!! I love the introduction of it.

2. While it can sometimes be a PITA, the new content is also fun. Some the battles while extremely difficult solo, can be awesome with a group. The challenge of trying to figure out, “Just how the heck do I get to that HP or MP??” can be a lot of fun.

3. I actually enjoy doing the Mastery tracks in Central Tyria. While some call it a grind, I call it something to do!! And as stated several times through out this thread, “Why do you have to get everything all at once?”

4. My favorite thing about the Mastery System, Account Wide!. I have several 80’s that don’t have world completion, so, it makes things a little less “grindy”. I can map Low level areas, and work on a tract, or switch characters and work on high level areas. It is a different thing. I choose where I want to be.

Like I said, It’s love/hate. There are pros and cons of HoT. I still enjoy playing. I never once while doing anything in the game, got the urge to rage quit. I never once felt like I HAD to grind. I actually made a little schedule to keep me from grinding, and it has worked! (A little less now, since I finally got Leaf of Kudzu).

Like the Aviator Box that came out of last year’s April Fools day. This April Fools day how about we turn in B-52s when we are gliding? Then make that available for purchase or as a reward?

You refer to EQ. Do you seem to forget that EQ is a PtP game? Sony and Ultima can afford to do things like this. EQ can afford to expand their servers (most of the time) so they can implement things like VoIP. It is kind of a sacrifice to not have the VoIP services, I mean come on, you don’t have to pay anything to play the game.
Download TS, Mumble, or any other service. Why should our game quality suffer because you don’t want to Download a service?? (Which is free by the way)

Finally Someone Says It!!!!

I know Balth is done, I was short three kitten shards and had to do the Entire kitten Meta to get them!!! There are times it takes a bit to get the events going, but it is certainly done!

I just completed the First Tier of The Legend: Experimental Staff 1.
I did everything, Double clicked the recipes and all, but besides the Legendary Inscription, none of the other Items I need to craft are showing up, Meaning I don’t have the Recipe for Experimental Shaft or Experimental Head.
Now I thought maybe I screw up, Despite getting the Essence so When I spoke to Master Hobbs, nothing showed up in the Missing Vital Chest part or whatever.

I have a Ranger, I love my Ranger. I have a several pets, I love my pets! For the love of everything holy though!!! Can we please change this “When you take damage, your stowed pet comes out” please!!!

Example: I really really (Really) suck at JPs. I like to stow my pet pig Porkchop, as sometimes I can not see the edge of the platform when he walks in from of me. I Jump, I miss, and there is Porkchop!!

I Just really wish when you stow your pet, they stayed stowed until you bring them back out. Is that so hard to ask???

You all do realize that this argument doesn’t stand up right now, not to be insulting or mean, but I mean, you realize that Lore has been popping up that is indicating something may be stirring in the desert lands as well.

I Will seriously have to find that source again, I do believe it was in the Priory’s Library. Seriously as of right now, we don’t actually know what is happening in or around Elona. We also have no clue what is happening in Cantha. As someone posted before, Dragons are not limited by the sea and mountains.

However, since it seems now that all the dragons are within the area of Tyria, whether it be, wetlands or tundra or jungle. This doesn’t mean they didn’t Distribute, create, hatch or any other means, Minions on other continents.

I really don’t think (and I hope I am right) that they are going to leave us hanging to long on the fates of Elona and Cantha. I’d even be happy if someone in one of the Orders happens to find a book with info. Those two were my favorite continents and I know eventually they will be reintroduced to the game. The real question is: Will the writers build up good lore that’ll lead up to it?

I would suggest to include souch “buff” checks to.

Are you sure the shiny gold buff wasn’t just this? It doesn’t make you undetectable by mobs, but it does give you a gold glow if you’ve used it in Auric Basin. I’d suggest you be careful with those types of allegations, or else you might end up falsely reporting people… :/

Gonna say not, I have reported once a long long time ago for the same thing. There is apparently a program out there to make mobs that only you can attack.

So a friend lent me 100 gold so I could finally buy the precursor I have been aiming for since the game launched!! I went to my bank to pull out the rest of the money, and low and behold, I apparently reached one of the most pointless things I have ever seen in a game! GOLD CAP! So I can’t pull out of my bank because it counts as a sending to another player??
I know we are trying to combat Gold Spammers and all, but the players who play legit have to suffer this kind of crap?
I am going to be really angry when this jumps up another 100 gold and I have to continue to try and make the money (legit).

I don’t like being forced to do the exact same story on all of my alts just to get map completion on all of them. In my opinion, that’s a stupid tie-in.

Also, is there any word on whether or not the map completion rewards are actually bugged or do they not intend to have any map completion rewards since no map since Orr has ever had them?

Yggdrasill collection tells me pretty straightly that ther are map completion chests meant for this expansion maps – as said Yggdrasil colelction have requirement for an item told to be “Reward for a map completion at magus falls map with a ranger”…..

so ofc bugged one way or another….

The Completion reward for Yggdrasill is for the collection base. You will still get a Completion reward. As far as the collection is concerned the only way to get a particular item for the collection, is to complete it on a Ranger. After all the collection is for Kudzu

I do believe there is also an Achievement for having Two of the same Legendary

So it has been a week since HoT was launched! I know a lot of people who pre-purchased the game got to do Beta, but that was only a weekend or three.

Now that you had a full week to mess around with the Specializations, The real question is now, Which one is your Favorite???

To be honest, This is a hard question. I know you can sell a precursor (I actually screwed up and did so!!) but I honestly do not know if you can sell a precursor you craft through the “Mastery Track”.
I really hope it works out for you.

HoT has made me unrealistically confident of my ability to survive falling damage.

Item Suggestion: Emergency Puddle! Summons a puddle of water. Activates if character would take lethal falling damage. 60 minute cool down.

I completely feel that pain. However I do really like the idea of Emergency Puddle!!!
