As the title pretty much says, our Scribe Station in the Guild Hall, Gilded Hollows is not letting us (more guildies, not only me) craft the Guild Banquet Schematic.
3 Guildies have tried. One with 250 Scribe, one is a 350 Scribe and me, I am only but 53.
We have level 69 Guild Hall and max Scribe Station.
Anyone able to elaborate on what’s going on. Are we missing a vital point or is this bugged?
4 Ideas to make GW2 a better game
1. Save them builds!
You know the feeling. You play Fractals, Raids, WvW, sPvP and have about 5 builds in use on one class. I love the diversity in builds, perhaps like many others! But the dredge of changing builds the moment you choose another role or go into another game mode is innominent.
Save them builds! It would be neat to have 5 builds which we can pre-set, to than only select the pre-set saved build when we need it.
Sidenote: 5 Builds seems a lot perhaps, but some very versatile classes can easily reach that. Thinking of Elementalist, for example.
2. Save them Gear, Skins & Dyes – The Changing Room
I have 3 different sets for WvW, 1 for raiding and 1 for fractals. That are 5 sets. It would be cool to make templates. Pre-set Gear, Skin & Dye templates.
Save your gear, skins and dyes and select the template whenever you need it!
A full changing room with 15 available ‘Template’ slots would be amazing! Yes, 15 I also thought about all the Fashionable players out there who like to walk in LA in their shiniest of all shiniest clothes.
3. The sPvP Pre-Set Build now remembers your weapons!
When you use different weapon sets for PvE and PvP and you forget to change to your correct weapons you are stuck with the PvE weapons.
The sPvP Pre-Set Build remembers everything, from runes, to sigils, to traits but not weapons. It would be so amazing if it would remember them.
On a funny sidenote: sPvP is about the only mode in the game, if you lack awareness or are not focussed during the match timer where you can end up with 1 weapon instead of the usual 2.
Indeed: If you use an Elite Spec in PvE with Elite Spec weapon equipped and forget to change your weapons whilst being in PvP, given the fact you use a non-Elite Spec in PvP, you’ll end up with 1 weapon.
Save them weapons in the sPvP Pre-Sets!
4. Sticky Targeting a new option available in settings
When you PvP and you de-click on the screen somewhere, you’ll end up losing your target. Only if a Target has been marked, you can press T to assist.
But there is no way you can have a target ‘fixated’, how often I am not smacking a pet from a Necromancer or a Ranger. Also, add a function to sticky targetting; when one person stealths, or uses ‘taunt’ that the Sticky Targetting is removed.

Hello, Ben. The broadcasting system is still broadcasting Grenth & Melandru’s rounds from a couple of hours ago. Is this intended?
It feels quite confusional with the current tournament (Balthazar’s Brawl) quite hard to track the current rounds of current tournament.
Any insights, there Ben?
Also 1 team has advanced to the 4th round. Yet no teams are in the 3rd round what-so-ever. In /map chat tons of teams are ‘stalled’
Can we have like a breaking news update? Or is this the wrong media for that?

My team was victorious in our first Balthazar’s Brawl game. We currently are still waiting for opponent. For over 17 minutes.
I took a screenshot aswell where the ‘Game History’ states I had a victory in the Tournament with 0 points versus 0 points and currently 1 team has advanced to the 4th round.
Is it bugged? Will we get a matchup soon?
If not, what’s next?
Anyone noticed there are Vendors above the Arena, yet I don’t seem to find out how to get there?
PS: Yes I know there are vendors at another spot too. Just wondering is this area future, off limits? Or VIP access?

I every now and then enter PvP with complete wrong weapons.
For example:
I play Burn Guardian in PvP
I play Dragonhunter in PvE
When I queue up for PvP and I forget to change my Bonglow to Scepter/Torch than I am stuck in a match where I end up doing nothing besides kiting and hoping the enemy is worse than I am.
One could state that I should remind myself to change this. Correct. That’s what I try to do in 99% of my games.
But it might be just easier that you remember the Weapon and change it automatically for the player. Just like you change the Traits, Sigils, Runes, anything really… except weapons.
So, this would be a QoL Change. Quality of Life Change. You also give the wrong impression to new players. You let them choose a build, you remember it nicely for when somebody enters the PvP Game but you won’t remember 1 thing…
Has this been forgotten?
Is this too technical or too long to script?
God knows.
Would be amazing if you’d fix this at some point. Preferably with next expac.

Master of Secrets is bugged. The 4th Hidden Room ‘A cave underneath the ice’ which is listed as N° 11 on the achievement is not counting.
-Server: Desolation Europe
-Map/location: Super Adventure Box, World 2, Zone 3
-Character info: Level 80 Norn Dragonhunter
-How to reproduce issue: Visit the hidden room
The screenshot is taken inside this room on Normal mode. We also have been there in Infantile & Tribulation mode (yet no screenshots to back this up).

Yes it is intended, take 5 seconds before you start a tribulation run and read the cloud warning.
Fair enough. Than we just talk about bad scripting / bad ideas.
It’s a deliberate design mechanic and has been since Trib mode was added a few years back.
I don’t care much about the past. I do care about good scripting. If they wish to make selling impossible, then they could just make a ‘Checkpoint’ check…
IF Character X Participated in All Checkpoints upto the Current Checkpoint, than Character X is allowed to rejoin. No time limit, unless last Boss / Cage has been killed.
It’s not hard to do proper scripting, all I want is a bug fix. Because surely this is not intended.
I was 2 hours in Tribulation Mode with a guildie.
World 1
Zone 1
And I disconnected. I got the error message:
‘You cannot join or rejoin your party while they are inside Tribulation Mode.’
Funnyily enough I got a Network Error from GW2 (while my internet is not being shut down, a problem described earlier on these forums)
Can you please fix this bug? I have actively participated in the entire instance and one flat DC makes me not being able to join it back…

Since November 2016 – I am often, without any prior notice being disconnected from the game. When that happens, I see a small pop-up box from GW2 saying:
‘Network Error…’
I will try to screenshot it when it happens again. So the developers can read the full error.
Anyhow, the odd thing about this error and a certain loss of connection is that I am still connected to the internet. When this error occurs, I still can log in to facebook, I can play other games which requires internet.
Which is kinda strange… why would GW2 tell me my connection is gone, when every other application at the same time this error occurs is working fine?
After the error, I see a black screen and only my mouse-pointer can be moved on my entire screen. Nothing happens.
Then I use windows key + D to get back to Windows, to then shutdown GW2 Client and to restart it… then when I press login, it keeps loading but doesn’t do a thing.
After a couple of times, shutting down the client and restarting it I eventually can log in.
This problem, in this precise order of events (Network Error > Black Screen > Login Issues) is always exact the same. Never it’ll change.
I seriously need help on this. I lost my last rated PvP Game due to a silly Network Error and not being able to login at time… once I got back in we lost the game with 511-499
So to sum up:
- Random Network Errors, still my connection is alive
- Black Screen with a mouse-pointer visible, can move it along the screen
- Login issues, who after a while trying, solve themselves
Question 1:
- Why does GW2 disconnect me from the game, telling me there is a Network Error whilst I am connected to the internet, whilst my other games or facebook is still connected? IS this a server-script who need to be looked at?
Question 2
- The Black Screen with the visible mouse-pointer is completely new to me, I’ve been playing 2 years GW2… never seen this. Why is this happening? Any reason?
Question 3
- Why can’t one login properly, only after repeatable shutting down the client and re-launching it solves the loggin issue after 5+ to a maximum of 15 tries.

My team just wiped on Thaumanova and when we use portal we insta fall to oblivion. The floor is gone…

I am trying to collect the very last spoon for Koutalophile. I have done my research here:

Currenlty I have spent 31 hours in WvW, spread over the last couple of weeks. I have killed:
201 Veteran Guard
1 Champion Tower Lord
97 Quartermasters
3 Archers
And so far the luck is not at my side. The reason I have been counting my time spent and kills is because a couple of friends have issues and told me about the spoon not dropping for them too.
As far as RNG goes, this seems a bit off the table to me. Anyone else have these odd numbers, and is there an WvW Developer who can tell us what the estimate drop-rate is. Is it just that extremely rare, or is something going on?

I am a fairly new player to the PvP community and I want to earn a greater understanding of MMR and sPvP as an entity.
- My last 10 games, I have won 6 and lost 4. Yet my rating went lower than before these 10 games. How does MMR works and how is it able to contribute to dunk me lower than I was before given the fact I won more games than I lost?
- Is it publicly available how the MMR is been calculated? If so, what is the maths/algorythm behind it?
- I am dunked in the Bronze, the last 8 days I have a Win/Loss ratio of 6:4 and yet I seem to remain my 950 score. Is there any advice to get out of Bronze? Besides winning more games than losing.
- How does one coop with a team that is not communicating at start. Questions such as ‘Hi Team, who takes close’ remain unanswered.
- How does one coop with players just grinding the Ascended Gear? The quality of these players is often far beyond any kind off imagination.
- Will Bronze – eventually – get rid of PvE Players, so Bronze becomes a real bracket?
- How come we cannot queue with 5 people? It’s a team-oriented game, one cannot do much without a team, team communication etcetera. If there would be a PvP mode where your skills – no matter the win or loss – would give you rating, then it would make sense that one is solo queue’ing. If I end up with 4 (or 3, if I would duo-queue) players who are not willing/able to cooperate as a team, their skills basically have impact on my score. On my rating. That doesn’t make quite sense to me. Is there somebody able to explain this quite ‘odd’ decision?

Is there an ingame option to ‘Sticky target’ whenever I left click somewhere on my screen I de-target. Since I use my mouse to land certain spells I always de-target my current target.
I’ve tried all options, but I keep de-targetting. Am I missing something here?
I’ll re-obtain the strongboxes in the weekend and will keep you posted.

About 3 weeks ago I’ve completed all Strongboxes in the game. Using video guides to get them all completed.
To my surprise 2 of these Strongboxes have been reset. They are greyed out.
1. Plains of Golghein Strongbox
2. Whitebear’s Pride II Strongbox
I double-checked the video guide to see if it wasn’t me being confused, but these 2 strongboxes I have opened & earned in the past.
Anyone else have issues with AP Resetting? IF not, what is the best thing you can advice me?

Class stacking needs to be disallowed in ranked.

Any decent PvP Game disallows Class stacking. Also, it’s a team based PvP system, yet 24/7 you are fighting alone because premades are not allowed.
I suggest that only premade groups can compete with each other. That you are not able to join the ranked queue without a full 5-man premade. Like in World of Warcraft. At least you have communication going on, and since it’s full premades vs full premades no one is dumbed down.
As a Guardian I can tell you that my traps are about the weakest thing ever if played against a good player.
Ranger can sent in his pet.
Engineer can sent in his Gyro.
You can dodge roll trough them to trigger trap and then buzz off.
You can use any form of block to avoid it.The only unblockable trap is Test of Faith, the others are just as easy as it is.
I had really good Thieves beating my bum, because they dodges 24/7 my traps, triggered them with about anything I can think off, yet no damage they take.
People talk about how OP Traps are or how much damage they do. Ever played at Legendary? Traps are rarely triggered and do damage, because the real good players knows how to dodge them.
And truely, a Dragonhunter without the damage from his traps is like a naked unicorn trying to cuddle you to death.

The OP (Original Poster) was talking about trap damage… which is negotiable if played well, I’m not stating DH is weak. Just pointing out to the OP that there is no need to nerf the trap damage.
its bc DH is easy and slightly OP. small cap points make it even stronger. its ok in mid at legacy……but not on sides.
dh is overplayed for obvious reasons. dont be dumb. they need a trap nerf. gg all

I’m gonna double-check tonight to see if you’re playing DH, hard to believe an objective person would give this response.The current metabattle DH has 3 CCs, unblockable pull on spear of justice, shield 5, and unblockable LB 3, the latter of which is on a 10s CD. And yes Hunter’s Ward adds a 4th CC, but no good player is caught by that. Much more CC than most builds, since you’ll be able to use LB 3 at least 3 times in a node fight.
Meta DH also has 3 condi clears normally, F2 for 3 conditions, Smite Condition for 2 condis, and Smiter’s boon for 1 condition when a heal skill is used. Unless you’re absolutely terrible then you’ll be able to use your heal skill and smite condition twice each during a mode fight or a 1v1. Sometimes contemplation of purity is used against a condi-heavy team.
Unblockable? You surely are not playing a DH then. You can block it and you can dodge roll it.
EDIT: I know it states it on the tooltip but my Spear of Justice gets more blocked / dodged than anything else in the game. Might be a bug in fact.
The initial damage is unblockable.
He was talking about the ‘Pull on Spear of Justice’ that is 100% blockable my reaction was to his statement which I put in bold ;o

Hello to all of you Guild Wars 2 players. First of all, I am a rather new player to this game. And I must say, I love it. A superb created world, so many hidden places to reach, puzzles and labyrinths everywhere.
This mmorpg has so many elements I want from an mmorpg.
But lately I stumbled across some unfair advantages given to the older playerbase. shrug it’s about the Achievement Ladders.
I played 11 years World of Warcraft, and the sole reason I played it was to hunt down all Achievements in the game. When I reached 99% of all Achievements I felt bored of WoW and before it’s expansion (Legion, september 2016) I changed to Guild Wars 2.
Good choice! Currently I am also hunting down all Achievements ingame. And I noticed that there are about 2500~ish Achievement Points which a new player cannot obtain.
The moment I realised this, I lost all motivation & dedication to play this game. I love Achievements, I love this game, but this is – sorry Achievement Hunters, no offense intended – unfair competition.
A new player for example can never reach the top of the Achievement Ladders because there are 2500~ish Points removed. That means if a new player who is interested in AP grinding will be demotivated quite fast.
Why? Fairly reasonable. Everyone hopes to reach that World Rank #1 spot even if it’s unreachable, you dream about it. You hope to chase it, and maybe one day to claim it. But with a huge gap of points not being in any of the new players reach this dream is shattered into a one thousand pieces.
In World of Warcraft, the removed Achievements are placed under a tab called ‘Feats of Strength’ so the player still can show them, he also keeps the titles, items, shinies from these Achievements. However, in this tab, the points from it are gone.
In this way old players can still show the stuff they grinded, and new players doesn’t have to be afraid of unfair competition.
Maybe many of you Achievement Hunters will be upset, angry or have a go at me why this should not happen. And from your perspective, I actually do understand.
But having such a gap is basically killing any AP Ladder competition. It’s unfair, in all it’s logical essence. You could perhaps compare it to sport. Where a football team from the Second Division promotes to the Premier League. And before they have played their 1st match, Manchester City would be 15 points above anyone else, because they simply play longer in the premier league.
In sport this never would happen, simply as it is unfair competition. And in any kind of e-sports this should not happen either.
I’m kinda puzzled if I should keep playing this game. All my soul, my mind and my heart have a craving desire for Achievement Hunting. The way this game is built is brilliant, I love it. But I am in doubt if my desire for AP Hunting can survive a demotivator like this.
Feel free to share your ideas, your concerns, or feel free to disagree and explain. Maybe I am just one man in the entire community feeling this way. Who knows?

Currently 10 people are stuck in the PvP Ranked Map: ‘Forest of Niflehel’ when we try to leave we see a Loading Screen from Heart of the Mists, then straight after that we see a Loading Screen from Forest of Niflehel and we end up in our PvP map.
All our characters are automatically transfered to Forest of Niflehel.
Our account is stuck in this map.
I am on behalf of my 4 teammates and 5 enemy players posting this.

PS: We get an error that the ‘Login Server is blocked by a Firewall or Antivirus’, yet none of us had this error before. I turned off my Firewall and A/V and the issue (and error) persists.
