I think it’s a shame, as well. Sigh.

The new forums really hurt my eyes; not sure if I can be as active.

Maybe I will feel better about them once I’ve truly figured them out.

Goodbye, five years of discussion history in a simple condensed format. /salute

I know it had to happen, and I think the new forums have a lot of good things and some of the “bad” things will just take adjustment to the change. I’m just sad to lose the contents of the old forums. They’ve been part of my life for a long time.

The new one :

https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/

The old one is clean and concise and not overly complicated.
You can browse through each topic easily because it doesn’t has lots of pointless white space and feature to distract your eye.
The old one can edit your post without time limit (15 mins for new one)

To make matter worse, the new one includes downvote feature, on top of being visible!
It can even generate in game conflict because people might whisper to the downvoter ingame for downvoting their post.

Before you nerf Shadow Trap, fix it first.

Currently all shadow steps can easily be interrupted by simple things such as rocks or higher/lower elevation. You can fix this easily by simply changing the mechanic as if it acts like a mesmer portal.

Understand that what I ask is not a buff, but a fix. This has been a problem since launch, I hope this gets looked at.

I play Ranger, which has option to go melee, but i prefer to play ranged Ranger. I am always asked to “stack”, i.e. to stay always in melee range near boss on top all other players.

This constantly happens in group content like raids/fractals and even WvW.

Ranged already does lower damage, not only lower damage but we dont have cleaves that melee has (no traits need to slot).

And now we basically also need to stay in melee, in every group activity.

Solution: since forced “stacking” happens because low buff range – increase buff range to 900.

This changes nothing except no longer requiring ranged builds to stay always (“stack”) in melee.

Do same for druid AOE heals. Once again this wont change amount of people healed in now way, except removing obligatory melee stacking for ranged builds and people who prefer ranged playstyle.

The loot system needs an overhaul in general as it is just to much clicking and space management as is. Having stacks of loot by rarity would be great but using a vendor to ID them ONE AT A TIME is just madness. I would be fine treating exotics one at a time, but everything lower than that should be quickly and easily salvageable, with ectos potentially coming out of rare loot.

Playing a toon of the opposite gender?

Does anyone else feel uneasy playing a toon of the opposite gender, I do.

I’m a guy, and even though most female toons are more pleasing on the eye to look at, playing one just makes me feel, “Strange”, not to mention the countless guys hitting on my toon, only to find out I’m a guy, and calling me well, some unpleasant names to say the least.

Like I want to make a female norn warrior, because I don’t like how the male norn’s torso seems to be shorter on one side than the other, lol.

Most important re-balance is armor designs. Replace the designers please with people who aren’t anti-diversity.

Anti-diversity? I please hope this is in regard to armor, and not something political.

Considering the entire post was about armour design I think any political interpretation is your own.

A common complaint about armour designs in GW2 is that the overall ‘theme’ is always the same for each armour weight:

  • Heavy is plate, chain or scale mail over a tunic (aka ‘butt cape’)
  • Medium is a trench coat trousers and boots
  • Light is a long tunic (aka ‘butt cape’/dress) over trousers or leggings.
  • Males are fully covered from neck to wrists and feet, females have random patches missing.

Which limits players choices. If you want a light armoured character in plain trousers you’ve got one, maybe 2 choices. If you’ve got a medium armoured character you’ll have a hard time finding anything else, but you’re also going to have a hard time seeing it under the coat.

Dear anet balance devs,

I understand that balance is hard, but use your best tool more. Ask your players for the balance, what they think what the problem is in the game. Make a post for every class where players can leave their feedback for the classes. And make one every quarter.

I hope you guys will use my advice.

I would of never expected a Corgi mount so not sure why the disappointment. The video is 11 hours long so I don’t wanna look for the concept myself to see what’s going on. Feel free to post it.

The video is only about 1.5 hours long, actually. But Dulfy has you covered.

There is an option to unbind the mount special jump from space – then it defaults to the dodge key and space does regular jumps not consuming endurance.

I just wanted to say thanks for the free customer appreciation box that you put on the marketplace before it dissipated when the store reset. It must have been on there less than 24 hours because by the time I got on from one day to the next it was no longer there. It’s not a huge deal since it was only a measly black lion key but it feels like a real kick in the pants when I log in less than a day later and something that was supposed to be something nice for customer appreciation is suddenly ripped away from me before I can get it. I mean, thank you for the nice gesture anyways but please consider a longer lifespan for such things in the future Anet.

Defensive boon? Retaliation doesn’t provide any defense, its entirely offensive and basically a power version of a condition in the form of a boon.

Guys,

The reason that this particular name is blocked is entirely different than you believe. In fact, we block names that have a space around the letter “G” because that’s the most effective way to block someone from posing as a Game Master. We learned from experience in our own and other games that some people impersonate GM’s in an attempt to scam other players. They might use GM Fred or G M Fred, or they may incorporate symbols that look like “GM” at a glance. Blocking a self-standing letter “G” allows us to better prevent that unfortunate situation.

Weaver Sw Build/Rotation after 3 Days Testing

The problem is, I fail to see why pick condi over power for PvE. Sure, there’s Primordial Stance and there’s Weave Self. But the traits don’t give you much, beside Weaver’s Prowess. At best, I’d look into using Grieving stats and trading the 7% damage modifier from Swift Revenge from it. It could be a close call. The grandmaster is very clearly power oriented. And I see no reason to take an adept which isn’t Superior Elements, another power damage modifier. And then there’s the problem with Sword attacks. They seem more like duelling-oriented. For dealing damage, I think Staff will be so much better.

Because Power sword is horrid?
The damage is actually worse than a lot of core builds?
While Condi pressure from sword and weaver is actually good

https://dviw3bl0enbyw.cloudfront.net/uploads/forum_attachment/file/242465/gw004.jpg

^screenshot from a different thread. But as you can see, with power stats the damage is worse/same as some of the Ele Auto Attacks

The issues with weaver

in Elementalist

Posted by: MrAidenVoid.7416

MrAidenVoid.7416

Alright let me introduce myself,
Im Aiden, im an ele main since release and i’ve played well over 5000 hours on ele.

I’ve tested out weaver for the past 2 days straight since the demo launched and i’ve found quite abit of issues with the Weaver.

To begin, weaver is supposed and quoted by the devs to be a “dmg dealing bruiser” yet it just feels like mediocre dmg with zero survivability at such a close range due to us not being able to pressure our enemies.

I’ve been practicing Weaver against a Deadeye, Holosmith, Mirage, Spellbreaker, Scourge and Firebrand.

So far the Weaver was able to deal a little bit of pressure against Holosmiths but in clear numbers, with the exact same amulet the holosmith did 4x more dmg in a single skill than any of the weaver skills this clearly is not a fair thing due to the fact that Weaver has pretty slow Cast times compared to the cast times of the other specs and we are the most squishy even when traited into more surviveable specs like water, earth or arcane. To add fuel to the fire weaver as a hybrid doesnt deliver enough conditions to keep up the pressured dmg for a decent high risk high reward playstyle, if we wanted to go condi based, we should honestly just play Tempest as it offers more conditions and more surviveability with auramancer traits.
To conclude the dmg is just lack luster.

Now lets move on to the survivability of weaver.

Weaver has 2 nice evades in the sword skills, and a nice evade in the utility slots aka being Twist of Faith, Riptide and Earthen vortex. In my opinion Weaver does not have any issues with the ICD atunement swapping, since we have enough evades/ when we get a dmg buff to dmg enough pressured dmg to wait out the 4 seconds to go into offhand earth for our obby flesh / magnetic wave, or other means of avoiding dmg.
The heal skill in my opinion actually does its job and provides allot of healing, though the initial heal might be a little low compared to like the warrior heal, maybe a 500+ health would do the trick already.
To conclude Weaver survivability WOULD be good if we had more dmg.

Now lets move on to the mechanics of Weaver.

I really enjoy how the Weaver offers survivability with the evades and heals though one thing im uncertain about it the Gale strike, which takes 3/4 seconds to cast and has a range of 170, it is just too slow of a hit for a stun which can be stunbroken.
Other than that the leaps feel abit short, though in my opinion it shouldnt matter TOO much, a s mall buff would be appericiated but not something of my concern.
The combat in my opinion is smooth for an ele, since i played d/d ele for most of my time on gw2 i can really relate to sword, its pretty much a better dagger main hand with no dmg.
The Flame Uprising skill is slow and does little dmg for the slow cast time, so that deffinitly should be buffed.
Overall the mechanics of weaver in my honest opinion feels good and right for the spec.

My final thoughts.
If Weaver got more Pressured power dmg, around a 25%-50% increase in flatt dmg, and maybe a slight buff in speed then the class would suffice as a nice bruiser, the elementalist class always was squishy, and i dont want that to be changed alhowever the current state weaver is in does not enough pressured dmg or gap closes to counter fact that the ele is so squishy, we were never ment to be able to face tank high bursts, and its a rewarding playstyle if you could dodge and avoid it, though at the moment Weaver has no Dmg to deal to pressure your enemy, so they can facetank our dmg whilst putting up 8-10k crits on us 2shotting a marauder build.

Crazy amounts of damage, an extra self heal, and damage mitigation. If you stack boon duration you can have like 75%~ uptime on Quickness with no outside help.
