Team Aggression [TA]
Immortal Kingdom [KING]
I was speculating that we get the Tomb of Primeval Kings in this expansion since we got the expansion maps leaked.
After all, the crystal oasis is literally right next to it, like exactly next to it.
Personally i hope it is a raid.
this is probably only implemented on the dev client (or alpha client if you wanna call it that), same thing goes for the actual loading bar in the loading screen that was present in the original closed beta of gw2, i miss those thing alot.
- beta login screen
- actual progress loading bar for loading screens
- this new healthbar animation on enemies

I am sorry but level 25 is perfectly fine as it is, i went in there solo to do achievments i was missing and it was fine. If you have problems at level 25 you need to rethink how you approach new content, maybe be a bit more open.
Having more mechanics and well telegraphed mechanics in fractals is really great, the fractal team has been the best in terms of fun and engaging fights for quite some time now. It’s not 2012 anymore, where almost all bosses are simply dps sponges and have maybe 1 mechanis which you can ignore anyway.
One argument i can kind of agree to, this fractal has more bosses and harder bosses than most (comparable to Nightmare). This however is ok as long as they don’t overdo it with long fractals like these. I am really glad we have 2 longer fractals in the mix now, but the next one should probably be a bit shorter again.
It is kinda the same thing with Explorable maps and Meta maps in open world. Both things are wanted and needed, the balance is important.
And that is what is important here too.
Simple question, simple answer: Yes!
Me and my guild actually had a small talk about this yesterday, we did Mursaat Overseer and Deimos CM yesterday and i honestly enjoyed these bosses more than the “easy mode” counterpart.
Apparently the first time my guild did all the Challenge motes they wanted to do them more often, maybe not every week but you know every now and then.
You know how that turned out? Exactly, once everyone had their achievos and titles nobody looked back.
Which is quite sad, because espeacially Mursaat Overseer is an actual Raid boss in CM, instead of a DPS Test Golem.
Deimos can be quite challenging if you dont have good control over Prides and Greeds, they feel engaging. I feel like this is what Bastion of the Penitent should have been and we’d hear much much less of the “W4 is a joke already” talk. And i somewhat have to agree.
By all means, i do like the one time rewards the challenge motes give, but they won’t incentivice and sustain those motes.
On the other hand i don’t think we should get those rewards every week for the challenge motes, I think getting another roll on the loot table would suffice.
Does this mean you get better rewards for beating high ranked WvWers?
Let the manhunt begin!
SO APPROPRIATE!
this would actually be fun, there are only 17 max ranked WvW on GW2 Efficiency, making them the most wanted people in WvW. only dead btw!!!
While Aegis does have problems for Guardians in raids, I think traits like Unscathed Contender are far worse.
Why do we get punished for using our classes strengths? We litterally lose 20% damage for using one of the core aspects of our class: Protecting team members.
Also boss auras removing Aegis should be changed, it’s bogus
We still do not know how big of an effect it will be but its also to reward the dedicated wvwer that have been lacking rewards for sometime now. I just hope their are new runes./sigil and armor stats for the wvw armors like sage gear.
Sadly it will just reward those who were on busier servers and those that k-trained in EOTM for ranks, rather than the dedicated wvw’rs who might only make one rank in a session.
Even i am +5k rank. How much people have slacking if they are lower than me?
Really depends on playstyle alot, I’m around 2.1k, and i did mostly fighting, never capped alot of keeps & towers.
However, i did not play WvW actively for more than a year, so i’d probably be around 3 – 3.5k now.

1. Nightmare (CM)
Even the normal mode on level 100 is amazing, the CM is far better paced tho and one of the most engaging content in the game.
2. Snowblind
Short, but very fun fractal, the Light the fire part is quick but fun (no more weird #1 spamming at the fire).
The Ice Elemental fight promotes coordination in the group, if you get your reflects right in the group you never hit the blizzard phase.
The endboss porting away makes more sense now, and it is important to kill certain adds which give a shield to the boss. We need more mobs that effect each other, instead of the usual “pull together and kill and we are done”.
3.Swampland
Some people are sad about Mossman, i also think he should be slighty of a more challenging fight, but not a huge issue at all.
Bloomhunger fight is fun and engaging.
I just wish the timer at 25% should be shorter again, we usually have all 4 wisps together and have 10 seconds or more left.
I’m sorry to hear that you’ve had people attacking you over an open discussion but at the same time I don’t find it surprising sadly.
Before raids came along I don’t recall a single person ever using the word “elitist” once and now I hear it several times a day. I also never saw anyone criticise someone else’s DPS or demand that people share their personal counter information. I think it is important that the hardcore player base gets some content they can enjoy as well but raids have brought so much toxicity into this game and I am wondering if it would have been better without them.
I’ll tell you one thing, this has certainly put me off ever trying a game like WoW where the raids aren’t optional.
The term elitist has been thrown around since people first started dunegonsa and then again when Fractals came out and so on, that terms has been on the forums since the beginning go look up any thread condemning speed runners and such, those are some rose tinted glasses you have.
Yup, i didn’t do alot of fractals before HoT, but the few times i did it’s nightmare with people who think everything belongs to them.
You search for people with experience, but of course you get the player who such reached lvl50, you even take him and ask for things like food, if he knows the builds and so on.
It obviously is slower than you want but at least you are going forward…until you wipe because the guy doesn’t change his traits like suggested…and if you point it out you get called elitist…you wipe a few more times before you have to kick him…but obv he is the victim.
Even now, years later people can’t read stuff like experienced, food + pots, and for what profession you are searching for.
Just a week ago, my 3man guild group was searching for a warrior as the last spot, we get an Ele, a core ranger and a DH, before we found a warrior.
The first one just ignores the question if he is about to reroll, 2nd one throws around insults including “elitist” and “toxic” and the third happily pulls mobs without a word.
You do know that all pve maps are region wide right?
So your saying that either eu region or na region do dragon stand once a week?
Must be na since I know eu do it atleast once a day.
Just becouse your unlucky and dont get into the active maps dont mean that people arent doing it.
Look at his recent topics, he believes HoT metas are basically dead.
Since i am working on some collection + preperation for the next xpac + generally finishing some achievements i have left on the maps, i can say that he doesn’t know what he is talking about, i don’t even search for an organized group anymore like in the beginning and i get decent maps.
@OP
Also on the profession change:
1) if you have 20 characters you probably have at least 1 of every profession
2) I don’t recall being forced into a playstyle in open world ever … so that point doesnt hold true as well
I just hope she’s not behind a Raid or Legendary.
….
If Out-Of-Character-Balthazar turned out to actually be Menzies who just ran with people mistaking him for Balthazar, it’d go a very long way towards redeeming the last episode. That much is certain.
Excessive plot-twist, is contraindicated and amateurish. I think there are enough stories of “this was not what it looked like, it was something else”.
Its miles better than “Balthazar is now lolevil and the next big bad and has forgotten all the stuff he was about and now acts like a backstabbing sneak instead of a god of war!
”, but that is just me.
See that is the argumentation i hear all the time from people who say Balthazar’s reveal was bad.
You realize that Balthazar never was the loving Godfather of the Six, do you?
He always kinda had a heaty, unstable temper.
Something we don’t know just pushed him one step further into cruelty.
We don’t know what, might be anything at this point.
Personally i believe he lost the war to menzies, is about to lose it, or realized Menzies is just as powerful or even more so than him, which makes him take it a few steps too far.
It is far too early to call his actions Out-of-Character, because we don’t know that much about Balthazar to even make that claim.
An alternative solution is to do exactly what Challenge Motes do but in reverse:
Remove a mechanic or tweak one mechanic (usually of the last phase of an encounter) and keep everything else the same. And I agree. Tweaking or removing mechanics is the right way to implement a story mote – possibly with some tweaking of the numbers, but that is a balance thing they would need to do regardless.
It is actually not that easy.
Adding a mechanic and making an existing mechanic harder is considerably easier than removing one.
Given that i don’t know how Anets engine works, but i wouldn’t be suprised, if it is almost double the work they’d have to do.Also i am pretty sure people were not happy with how motes in raids work, because you could only do them once or you’d only get rewards once from the achievments, there was no incentive to do the harder mote again if you already did so for achievments and titles.
Also taking ressources away from the current raid team to cater to people it isn’t even intended for is not acceptable.
Something almost everyone seems to forget (even some of the developers) – those “people it isn’t even intended for” you reference are players – players who would enjoy experiencing (EXPERIENCING – not just reading about or touring a cleared instance) the final act in the Saul D’alessio story – who would enjoy new fights and hurdles to overcome (even if they arent at the same difficulty level as the challenging version) – who would enjoy the experience of new content with guildees.
They already can, it is in the game, they just have to experience it.
And after all, if their goal is to experience that story, they just have to do it once, or just as much as to understand the story.
They don’t need to torture themselves to do it hundreds of times like raid enthusiasts do.
But , if they want the rewards as well….
It’s what I did with Mallyx in GW1, i wasn’t that good of a player back then, i had no clue about meta etc, i asked 2 friends to come with me and help out. Asked around for some experienced guys to help us with builds and get us through.
Took a kitten long time, but in the end I experienced the story, that was the goal.
People who really want something will find a way to do so
It is only the people who don’t want to put effort in who usually complain about such stuff

However look at real PvP games like DoTA, LoL, Smite, CS:GO, and such. EU players normally stand no chance against their NA and Asian overlords. Hence why NA and Asians players hate EU and Russian players so much in these games when they are on their teams.
Dude, in what universe do you live in?
CS:GO: The NA players are an actual joke. The only Team actually competing with the far superior EU Teams is SK Gaming, which aren’t even NA, they only play in that league, they are Brazillians.
SC2: NA has an even worse reputation, NA players who win their qualifiers for tournaments usually lose to players who lost their 1st or 2nd round in the qualifiers, so there is that.
Not to mention that you can litterally become NA Grandmaster if you are ~diamond in EU. There is a huge gap in skill between EU and NA and it is looking real bad for NA.
so yeah…NA is basically always 3rd when you compare NA to EU and the Asians
we can see the damage meters cause
That’s why no one can show any?
are you kidding? they cause people to kick people from their team who aren’t doing a certain amount of damage, they cause elitism which is incredibly damaging to a game.
wrong, people who like to kick players will keep kicking them, the difference is you now have information about kill attempts.
People like you are stuck on the word ‘elitism’, which in itself proves you aren’t thinking through what you are writing
I’m completely against dps meters unless it’s a personal one. Lack of damage meters is part of what makes this game different and there is a certain amount of toxicity that comes with meters. This game still has one of the best MMO communities, but a meter would definitely damage it.
However, I think it’s important for people to be able to examine their damage and help improve themselves. So a personal meter would definitely be a useful tool.
No, i wanna see how i directly compare to my teammates.
Your solution is unacceptable
A year and a half ago, the idea of dps meters would have been shot down on the forums pretty much immediately – and rightfully so.
That is the same way I feel about them today. While some would use them productively, the last thing we need is another tool for hateful and toxic players to shame or belittle others – and we all know that is exactly what would happen (because many of us have seen it time and again in other games – and because we can all probably identify at least a few players in GW2 now that would use it exactly that way).
DPS meters can be used for good reasons – but those reasons will never outweigh the potential toxicity they would bring to the game. They need to be kept as far from GW2 as absolutely possible.
No, you are wrong.
Fully fledged out DPS meters like Skada in WoW and the one i forgot the name of in Final Fantasy do more than just show DPS.
Additionally they show Damage done, HPS, Healing done, Healing recieved, Interrupts done, damage recieved (and by what skill of the boss/trash mob they got hit).A tool like this is incredibly helpful to work on mistakes you might not even notice, it makes evaluating a failed boss attemp so much easier.
DPS meters in the sense of “do 30k DPS or you’re out” are loooong gone, so stop being stuck with your limited mindsetPlease, you really don’t need that in GW2. If a boss is going to do a skill that will one shot you, there is alway a tell tail animation before hand, failing that there are hit markers on the floor, if you miss them, you are not paying attention. You don’t need a DPS meter to tell you that. If people do maybe they need to be playing simple games, like Mario or Sonic.
So what’s your point here? Disagreeing for the sake of disagreeing as that is everything you are able to do?
If you can mot see my point then maybe you need to re read what I said, in some games DPS meters are useful, Guild Wars 2 is not a game where it would be useful for the reasons you gave why it would be good. I can explain it to you, I can’t understand it to you.
The thing is that you’re wrong.

This is among the best possible changes that could’ve been made to Mai Trin. I’m glad they’ve decided to keep it. For the record, I don’t mind if they want to reduce the timed challenge on Ad Infinitum’s last collection as a result of this change.
I agree, I don’t mind them changing the the time for collection

A DPS meter woul dbe pretty stupid, and I will explain why.
Some professions, and I will take Guardian as an example, do rather good DPS with almost no rotation needed at all.
Do you know what Guardian max DPS rotation is?
It’s Hammer auto-swing, and that only. Guild Wars 2 has never really been about rotations and max DPS, but instead using skills with different functions that can respond to different situations, aka; cripple when needed, protection when needed, a stun when needed.
Of course, some abilities only bring damage, but not all.
Some professions have to work their absolute hardest to pull out good DPS, while a profession like Guardian only has to auto-swing Hammer.
It’s stupid.
You’re wrong, the highest dmg build on Guardian is Scepter/Torch, next comes the Scepter+Sword/Torch build not the Hammer support build.
Hammer is acutally the lowest DPS of the 3 builds you can do.
The other 2 builds definitely dont have a hard rotation but it isn’t just AA and drop Traps once in a while.
So you don’t have a point, right? Right!!
It’s very simple imo, if the only content you need DPS meters are raids then only let them be used in raids.
And if Anet, as well as the casual pug-only community is scared off them, make them a guild only tool.
Or better yet, make them a brand new guild upgrade (you can research really early), and have a restriction that 50% or more of the group need to be from the same guild. It really saddens me that this game doesnt allow addons, there could be so much QoL that could come from them.
A DPS meter is one example, something like WoW’s TellMeWhen or Weakauras2 is another thing, that doesnt hurt the game but is insanely helpful QoL.Raids aren’t the only area of the game where stats are important to players. I certainly would like to know incoming and outgoing direct damage, crit damage, condi damage, pet damage, healing… for all areas of the game. There are a plethora of numbers that would be useful to have organized and know for live combat scenarios. This info is also useful because we can have fact based conversations with players and devs with regard to profession performance.
I agree with you.
All I am saying is that I rather have it in raids (or even limited there) than not at all.

Seriously: why premades make unbalanced a game mode focused on premades?
And yes, we’ll lose some players, eventually a lot of them, but we’ll obtain a more balanced game, with no more premades to rush over pugs, simply why there will be no more pugs, only teams that can chose classes, builds and strategy Before been all together in a random selection with no choice of what class you’re with unless someone reroll to play something else more useful for the team.
Pugs make sPvP unbalanced, not teams.I played in soloq when it came up, time ago, and it was so bad that we lost a lot of players. and it was a Unranked section of the game!
Why have I to always hope to get a balanced team with competent players and balanced builds when i can use a LFG System perfectly working to match up with other players, do a fast strategy and build ceck and then start to play with fast queue and a complete team?
Fast queue simply why no matter the number of the players, the problem is the number of try the system had to do to find the right players with the same level as you are, the same, better or worst winy/lose % and at the same time try to don’t stack too many classes. You make a team, join the queue and start to play immediatly and easly added to the team lists of that X level, making you start quickly every time. more or less like is now if you start a queue with a full team.Soloq ranked will make sPvP worst than ever.
if you really want to do that, try it before on Unranked and see if it work, Then (and not before) you can try to suggest that change for Ranked.
I’m very sorry that you are unable to read, i already gave enough reasons as to why premades are not healthy for a game with the vast majority being solo players.
It is kitten hilarious that you think the game should be catered to the few premades instead of the majority of players playing the game mode.
AGAIN the vast majority of players play Solo/Duo, so why should ranked NOT be balanced around them?
Give me a single reason, oh right you don’t have one….
And if we only allow premades, then not only alot players will leave, but the game mode will straight out die.
Get it in your head already…it’s really boring writing with someone who doesn’t know what is happening in this game, education should help i heard.
I must be quite out of touch with popular builds… But here goes:
Based on what I’m reading, people saying Druids will need to “regear into Healing Power”… Don’t they already? I mean in my own experience, they use Zealot’s or less commonly some healing power primary stat. What would they be using to require a change?
Second, all this talk about “mirror comps”. Any combination can beat a raid, as long as your people don’t die and you have the minimum threshold for DPS, and cover the basics of what’s needed (tank, healer, condi, boom strip, etc)
I never knew there was a meta comp for the raid
![]()
I will go back under my rock now. These changes make sense, it’s nice to put emphasis on stat selection
I’m sorry to put this so harsh, but if you don’t know why people are angry at these changes, then don’t comment on it.
It’s not that raid will be unbeatable with these changes, but it pushes classes out of the meta (Revenant, Hammer Guardian, Thief most notably), it forces a mirror comp which gives you a lot less options to play with, making it more stale in the process.
It’s basically saying RIP to the balanced PvE meta where maybe only 1 class needed looking at (Engi/Scrapper) because it is a bit too weak. And it will change nothing for WvW, as SoI is not the source of the problem, but Durability runes, Revenant Resistance Spam and the in HoT inroduced +Boon Duration Stats on Armors and Weapon are.
The Balanced Meta in one gamemode gets gutted while it will do little to nothing for the targeted gamemode. But how/why? Any profession can be used and is viable. I honestly learned just from your post that Guardians should be using hammer. In MY experience, which is all I can base any post on… All of what you were saying is mostly foreign to me. Mirror comps, hammer guard.
There is a thing called team composition in the meta, which refers to builds that are seen as the most effective/complement each other the best way.
Currently chronomancer use Signet of Inspiration to spread quickness to the raid, only 1 is needed. That allows the revenant to get a spot in complementing the chronomancer with additional boon duration.
If SoI gets a fixed duration on boons shared, you will need 2 chronomancers (1 in each party). So which class isn’t needed anymore and will be the one to make place for the second chrono? The revenant, so he is basically out as he also can’t keep up with other DPS classes.
Next, in a scenario where you have 1 chronomancer in each party, your alacrity will be much higher than before where 1 mesmer was in the raid. 1 mesmer can’t keep alot of alacrity up on 9 other players, but 2 can easily.
Thief and Hammer Guardian builds don’t gain alot from Alacrity so they’ll fall off in terms of DPS, making Elementalist the strongest class for raids once again, at least Scepter&Sword + Torch Guardian will have some uses most likely.
But instead of the balanced meta where alot of DPS classes could potentially be played without sincere loss of DPS, you now basically push alot off.
I also never said that Guardian should use hammer (for most pugs it might’ve been better tho), but now the possibility won’t be there as it won’t hold up to other builds.
Ofc raids are beatable with alot of things, but people want to play what works best, because what works best is usually faster, gives you a higher chance of getting the kill, or is simply safer to use.
Pushing 3 classes out of those “what works best” compositions is NOT good, it’s the opposite.

Why I can’t play with my friends?
I want to do ranked, not waste my time in unranked. We already obtain Nothing from sPvP, why the hell will i not able to play with my friends into ranked?
I also play a lot of time as a solo or 2/3 team, but why will I not be able to play with My Own Team?
“You’ll be able to do that in Unranked” WHAT?
Why the hell would I play in Unranked if I want to play with my friends in Ranked? That change totally make no sense!!!!
Why should I pay for players that don’t want to team up, join a pvp guild or don’t have a social life, not even into the game?
All that you said have sense if you’re a solo player with no friends to play with, no more. If you’re a geek nerd without any kind of friends and that don’t even want to join a guild to find players to play with, that’s not my problem.
That’s just a really really BAD Idea!!
Ranked is meant to be a competitive mode, playing with a team with friends on ts just creates an imbalance no system in the world can account for.
There aren’t enough teams to justify you queuing in ranked as you will most likely only encouter solos or enemies that are made up of 2x duoQ + 1 soloQ, who have no relation to each other. It’s imbalanced.
If you just want to play with friends together, then go unranked. If you want to compete and have at least a little bit of a balanced ground SoloQ/DuoQ is the way to go.
Else you just want to farm easy wins with your team sitting on ts, carrying each other to legend which you don’t deserve.
TeamQ System in most competitive games make no sense, look at SC2, like almost nobody is playing it there.
ProLeauge teams are made up of 1on1 matches of every team member against the members of the other team.
There is no 2v2, 3v3, 4v4 ProLeauge.
The only game where TeamQ has ever worked maybe a bit was LoL due to its huge population.
Again most competitive teams form themselves out of good soloplayers, they make a team, sign up for Amateur Torunaments, then go to ProLeauge and so on and on.
They don’t go TeamQ and take that as practice, they practice their solo skills and organize scrims privately to train.
If you really want to play with your friend in a team, what is the problem to do so in unranked? ranked doesn’t need the imbalance you bring into it.
the only real reason you still wanna do ranked is to get easy wins over soloQ players who are not coordinated and together on ts.
Why the hell do you all want to make a TEAM BASED GAME become a NO TEAM BASED GAME?
That totally make no sense!!!Make Ranked accessible ONLY TO FULL TEAMS, Improve LFG system for sPvP, find a pvp guild and be happy!
That will also decrease by a Lot the queue time why there will be no need for match making why you’ll already be in a team.
sPvP was always about no matter if you are alone or not you could jump right into it.
If you don’t want to basically make the vast majority of players leave pvp, then stop making such suggestions.
Teams can still play in unranked if it’s “just to play with friend”, but if they wanna compete their personal skill level should matter and the best way to do is will be SoloQ/DuoQ.
I don’t know if it’s in Helseths video, but around the time he made the video he also said that current ProLeauge teams didnt form in TeamQ, they always found each other while solo playing, most pros got noticed while solo playing.
Team have the possibility to progress in private Arenas, i don’t think any of the ProLeauge teams are against scrimming new teams.
Also it will drastically increase queue times, because far less players will play, so good luck with your 1h queue times.
Elementalist mandatory nerf incoming.
I am betting the Mender’s amulet gets nixed, based on what’s happening to Druid. But Scepter AA dmg will get a 3% increase so it’s fine.
You are talking about two different things, you are about PvP while the comment you quoted is about PvE…
Yes this makes much sense. That explains why I did not know the role of madness in xera and without having that mastery I fell off at the very end. Right, xera is so easy bc I just have to press 1 to win, not even listen to group directions like I’m which side I’m on and know what that means. If I am able to refuse to listen and get carried cos I die at the start since I don’t have ley line mastered yet, then yeah I’m a terrible person who’s leeching and I need to go do training runs with equally terrible people like me who don’t have that mastery or any clue even that they need it. I completely understand now and I can see why I was wrong.. this whole thread has been a mistake I realise that now and also that i was being carried and I’m leeching off an exp group when I’m not rly expected to tank or heal anyway, and yeah I need a training run cos I dunno how to listen to simple instructions or even have right build to dps down crystals when we have 3 downed ppl depending on me. I finally understand now I was wrong to do this. I am an awful person
As an aside, I only died when boss was literally almost dead, as I got feared off platform cos of my madness stacks. I didn’t know at the time what that meant either, but I looked it up right after. So thanks for saying I leeched off a really exp group. Your right I could’ve just typed /qq at start and they would’ve carried my useless and inexperienced self.
Yes you do, you can be as sarcastic as you want and don’t believe me.
The madness stacks are basically the main mechanic of the fight, you only get them from getting hit by the red orbs of the laser that comes from the middle or standing on the wrong half of the platform when it gets split by the aoe attack or from the small aoe in the Crystal/2nd Flying phase.
You basically failed at alot of mechanics.
And no it doesnt take skill to follow the other DPSers like a drone, even though you think you did it right.
BTW, you made it harder for you group to complete the fight by getting hit from red orbs, which gave your group less room to move -> lower DPS uptime -> higher chance in the fight resulting in a wipe.
You literally got carried by the people that are experienced because your a sorry player that doesn’t accept that exp groups are made for exp players that don’t want to put up with being like you.
(edited by Dominik.5162)
You are getting carried by experienced players who have learned the fights properly, which usually contains wiping alot of times as they figure out mechanics and so on.
You’re just leeching off of them and the only reason you get kills after the 2nd or 3rd attempt is because they know the fights and carry you
I have heard and experienced the lack of the challenge motes and mist geyser. I was wondering if a player or preferably a anet staff member of when this will b fixed.
i think this was fixed 2 months ago with the last LW Episode? at least i remember it in the patch notes
Edit: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/updates/Game-Update-Notes-July-26-2016-1
Snowblind Fractal:
Moved the challenge mote to the new starting location.
Don’t know about the mist geysir tho, i think this was fixed a bit later but i am too lazy to search for it

Would the trade in for fractal tonics also apply to White Fractal Weapon Skins? I have almost several complete sets, and am hoping to free up the bank slots.
They already have a use: you don’t need to consume a tranmutation charge to apply the skin to a weapon.
What else do you want?!? If you dont want them to clutter your bank delete them.
Not a dev of course, so can’t say anything about their software or techniques, but from what they said before it’s not that. The real problem lies not in designing 6×2×5 pieces. It lies in matching that pieces to all already existing older armor sets, and making sure there aren’t some glaring connection problems.
(something they obviously didn’t do that well on non-human versions for some of the past armor sets, even for the same-set pieces – see naked belly case on many armors in Norn version, or charr armor in general)Correct, and making sure it doesn’t clip with certain body types, which can still sometimes be a problem
I am not an artist so I’m not sure exactly how difficult this all is, other than what I have been told.
Most of GW2s population understands this and it is nice that you want to do things right, but isn’t it time you get proper armor design tools?
It was said that outfits are much easier to design and realize and that the tools to create them are better than the armor ones.
Or is it wrong?
I think it is time you do something about it.
No offense, just some criticism (even tho harsh one)
Arguably the best thief in the game in terms of pvp/wvw, member of oRNG and he does alot of commentary/explanation when he stream, gives tip, etc.
Also functioned as a analyst on the latest championship and did really good

As to him i dont wanna see support given to a very toxic player who forfeits matches on a general basis and should’ve been banned from the game long ago
But the cpu dont give u beautuful graphic just better performance right ?
Yes but the game isnt very demanding on the GPU, but the CPU.
You can have a TitanX, but if you have a bad CPU you’ll have a bad time since this game is very demanding on it, i run a i5 4670k overclocked to 4.4 GHz + a 780 GTX which is waaaay more than i need in the GPU department for this game.
I started playing this game with a 560 GTX and it was just fine.
If you want beautiful graphics in this game i would suggest you take a look at stuff like SweetFx.

Maybe the Raid will be inside the Foundry!
As long as they insist on the restrictive raid model they currently employ, they really need to stay away from popular lore-based landmarks/settings/scenarios – and definitely stay away from anything to do with the story the current game is trying to tell.
I realize that is an unpopular opinion among a subset of the community, but it is the situation they have created for themselves if they want to avoid alienating or frustrating a sizeable number of their players.
They need to stay away from nothing, the claim that raids can’t have interesting story/lore connected to them is beyond hilarious.
This thread seriously confuses me. I don’t understand why anyone on F2P thinks they should have the same benefits as anyone who bought the base game and HoT regardless of what game mode that is and if the game is so “beloved” to you, why can’t you spend money actually buying it? The entitlement here is painful.
To say you can’t get anywhere in PvP without HoT specs is also a complete fallacy, because you absolutely can with core builds, but not if you suck as a player.
Lol, entitlement? Are you kidding me? The game is fundamentally flawed and is clearly restricted B2W in the form of the expansions, and you claim entitlement? The entire F2P concept is arbitrary.
I’ve spent probably close to a thousand bucks on this game, if not more. I built a $3000.00 computer solely to play this game with the highest possible fidelity on top of that. I don’t buy gold or legendaries. What I buy goes straight to ANet. AKA, around 10 years of a WoW sub + expansions at highest price. I had a tremendous amount of respect for ANet before HoT, and as such didn’t care about the money. I gave them what I thought they deserved because I support businesses and games I like.
I prefer playing core specs. I actually hate every single elite by design except the reaper, and the elite specs as a consequence introduced so much arbitrary power for no reason that the game is no longer fun and diverse like it was. The fact I see four builds in a majority of encounters in WvW which before had literally everything is more telling than the meta-crawlers and bad balance in sPvP due to the amulet system. HoT is broken, and it broke GW2.
That’s where the real complaint is. It’s not that F2P players can’t win. It’s that GW2 sPvP and WvW are no longer actually fun because diversity is dead in the water and the elite specs are by far and large conceptual failures that are poorly implemented and in many cases, poorly designed. It’s not about entitlement. Quite honestly, 70% of ANet’s revenue at the time of releasing HoT, both before and after constituted gem purchases. ANet makes more than double its box sales from people who want to fund the game they’re enjoying. And ANet’s sales figures right now are the lowest in company history. I stopped buying gems cold with HoT. And I know many other people, people who spent probably $100 a month on this game who also did.
HoT killed the fun elements of sPvP and WvW. The game is totally broken and anyone who simply doesn’t like their profession’s elite is just in a position where either they deal with it or leave.
Telling passionate players that they’re entitled because they’re complaining because they don’t get the same enjoyment from the game before the expansion is foolish and ridiculous.
There are at least 4 different Guardian builds for WvW in the meta, 2 of which are without Dragonhunter.
And you are a bit silly building a PC solely for GW2, as the most you need is a decent CPU, and even if it isn’t top notch you can make alot of performance with Overclocking.
High-end GPUs are not needed as most performance comes from the CPU. if you wanna make this game look better SweetFx and the likes are alot better solutions, which are free btw.
Also there are players doing just fine with core specs in PvP reaching legend etc, and i bet alot of classes work for the average WvW, PvE anyway.
Also the term B2W (Buy-to-Win) does not exist, it is P2W (Pay-2-Win), and if anything they are exactly the same – Buy=Pay. It was used by some not very inteligent person earlier in the thread who said this game is not p2w but b2w, which is not true as it is B2P (Buy-to-Play).
MMORPGs are all about character progression, some MMOs (most notable WoW) do this with geartreadmills, but as GW2 does not have and does not want a constant gear progression system (gear gets useless in a very short time) they added progression through elite specs.
MMOs usually progress with their expansions – You wanna have access to these changes? You better buy the expansion as else you are playing a outdated version of the game and therefore the game wont be balanced around you.
Same. sitting on 3.7k atm even after doing everything neccessary for the Ad Infinitum collections.
inb4 endless semantics about if it’s B2P or P2W
Oh wait too late sorry
It’s silly to put spvp behind a paywall. It’s a bad idea commercially and narrows the gameplay.. I’ve written several threads on this and won’t be repeating myself here.
But just leaving something here to register your arguments for a paywall as invalid.
You’re welcome.
Why do PvP players deserve to play this game for free, while PvE and WvW need to pay for it to play it?
That’s absolutely ridiculous, either all pay or none, period.
Players who bought HoT play the most recent version of the game, the game will obviously be balanced around them, and not around the F2P players who think it is in their right to leech of off others who bought the game.
It isn’t about dumbing anything down. It isn’t about catering to “bad” or “stupid” players.
It is simply about raising a topic and asking (not demanding) Anet to consider extending the raid experience to include a wider range of players.
It doesn’t matter if that wasn’t the initial intent of raids. It doesn’t matter who raids might have been initially designed for.
It is simply about raising a topic and asking (not demanding) Anet to consider extending the raid experience to include a wider range of players.
No one wants to take anything away from anyone. And most, on all sides, agree that there should be some prestige (and recognition) for players who excel and play the game at a higher level.
People play the game differently. Not everyone cares about being the best or min/maxing or playing to the meta (even a little).
Raids are currently there to provide a high challenge level. But that doesn’t mean they cannot serve another purpose. Tiered difficulty would help temper the outcry regarding content droughts, make it easier for developers to craft a narrative without worry of exclusion and give more people something they would consider fun to do (the whole purpose of the game imo).
So again, it doesn’t matter why raids were developed. It doesn’t matter who believes raids are just for them. And, very importantly, people aren’t talking about taking away anything those people want or currently have.
It is simply about raising a topic and asking (not demanding) Anet to consider extending the raid experience to include a wider range of players.
And, of course, almost no one here is anti raid (asking to make something more inclusive is actually the opposite of “anti-”)
I think that is a fair request and one that deserves consideration.
It DOES matter for alot of people.
Just because you think it doesn’t matter that raids are the only piece of content that isn’t developed for casuals, doesn’t make your point more valid.
This point just isn’t valid.
And yes it is ok to raise a topic about this “extend” raids, but people have every right to diagree and refuse this topic.
Moa is the only counter to various transformation skills.
Dodge, Block, & Aegis are the counters to Moa.
I don’t see a problem here.
And to the people who say, “but i can’t LoS on point whem I am in Moa QQ!!”…get real people that’s one of the purposes of Moa, either to kill an oponent while he is already pressured, counter a transformation, or to get him off point to quickly decap him.
And good players know when they can leave a point to get back in quickly to not get decapped.
The legendary armor is useless and they reprezented it way to late.
Im at this point that I already have 12 different armor sets for my main. If I realy want to swap stats I Just swap it in the mistical forge. Game dies in 12 months anyway.
Lul, i feel bad for you xD
I don’t think the rewards are necessarily bad when you defeat a raid boss the first time for the weak, the weekly lockout is quite annoying tbh.
And if you want to help out guildies/help pugs get their kills you even have to pay for it basically as food and stuff cost alot.
Instead of a weekly lockout have the possibility to complete the raid with 3 different characters per week to get full rewards on each of these characters (Legendary insight only once per boss a week).
Guilds who run raids more than once a week get rewarded, and you have an incentive to help out pugs/the guildie who had a tight schedule this week and still needs kills without loosing gold.
It would also be an incentive for players to learn more than 1 class.
Spirit Vale Glider & Phalanx Armor.
The only things i want from gemstore atm
Normally i would disagree, because i am in the camp of people who think that players should figure stuff out on their own. Espeacially in MMOs.
But in this case, the rollback might have made things more confusing for this event, so a clarification would be niceThere’s a difference between figuring stuff out and waiting around for god knows for god knows how long.
What I mean is, I liked the scavenger hunt. Figuring out how the device worked and then chasing the magics, that was a good kind of event. But figuring something out is only meaningfull if your train of thought has a starting point.
I agree, a better solution might have been to have a marker on the map she currently is on.
That way everybody can easily see in which map she currently is on.

Alot of people think, me included, that normally she would have moved to Highpass Haven, but due to the rollback npc thinks it is still tuesday.
So probably next reset.
I honestly dont get how you manage to cause a bug of such a magnitude…
if (armorAscended == true)
{
delete armor;
};What could possibly go wrong?
(jk)List<Armor> armors = itemService.fetchItems(ItemTypes.ARMOR);
armors.stream()
.filter(a -> a.getType() == ArmorTypes.ASCENDED)
.forEach(a -> itemService.deleteItem(a));or maybe like so?
I dont expect everyone to know about lists, but alot of people know simple if-else statements even if they don’t know alot about coding
if lists are the limit, throwing in a lambda expression was probably overkill. woops.
well the problem is the first line,
the .filter is pretty easy, you know something gets filtered, and you just look at the end of it and see ArmorTypes.ASCENDED. So knowing you filter for Ascended armor is not that hard.
Same goes for the next line itemService.deleteItem(a) is pretty easy to understand as well.
It’s just the first statements that are so much above simple if-else statements List<Armor> armors = itemService.fetchItems(ItemTypes.ARMOR);
armors.stream() that you can’t know by simply looking at single objective names.
